Search Through Cumberland County Grants for Nonprofits in New Jersey

The Creag Foundation, established in 2009 in Woodinville, Washington, provides funding to innovative 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations addressing social issues. Focused on smaller organizations, the foundation seeks to support those with unique approaches to improve the human condition. Eligible applicants must have held 501(c)(3) status for at least one year and present a new or previously unaddressed solution to societal challenges. The JOIN! Grant, part of OceanFirst Foundation's initiative, aims to enhance civic engagement and community connections. This grant supports nonprofits that align with the foundation's funding priorities and demonstrate significant local impact in New Jersey's counties. Eligible organizations can apply for funding to further their work in building social capital, following the inspiration from the documentary "Join or Die" and the book "The Upswing". The Bank of America Foundation Sponsorship Program aims to enhance economic mobility and social progress in low- and moderate-income communities through partnerships with nonprofit organizations. This initiative focuses on critical areas such as workforce education, basic needs like food and housing, and community development. The Foundation invested $350 million last year and encourages employee volunteerism and giving, supporting nonprofits in various sectors, including arts, culture, and diversity initiatives.

Wells Fargo Community Giving supports nonprofit organizations focusing on financial health, housing affordability, small business growth, and sustainability. The grant cycle runs from February to October, inviting organizations with 501(c)(3) status or equivalent to apply. Funding is prioritized for programs addressing critical community needs, while limited support is available for local initiatives like disaster relief and arts. Organizations must demonstrate fiscal stability and potential impact to be considered for funding.

Strengthening & Sustaining South Jersey’s Nonprofit Sector

South Jersey nonprofits are vital in fostering equitable and thriving communities for all, yet they are facing unprecedented challenges.

These organizations feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture residents across diverse demographics. As demand for their services continues to grow, funding has become more uncertain, impacting their ability to meet community needs fully.

South Jersey nonprofits urgently need support at a time when their role is more crucial than ever.

CFSJ and its partners have established the South Jersey Resiliency Fund to enable individuals and organizations to pool resources to support nonprofits facing increased demands and reduced resources.

Apply to the South Jersey Resiliency Fund – Round Two

Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (or those operating with a fiscal sponsor), with an annual operating budget of $1,000,000 or less, that provide services tied directly to the well-being of South Jersey neighbors in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and/or Salem counties are eligible to apply for support in this second round. 

The grant application has been designed to request only the necessary information required to award a grant. In addition to basic organizational contact information, applicants will provide a brief overview of the services their organization offers, insight into the cause of the increased demand for them, and an explanation of the intended impact on the South Jersey community they serve.

For this second round, grant awards will be $10,000 and are expected to be expended within 12 months. We anticipate awarding a total of 25 to 30 grants in this round, and all grant recipients must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or partner with one to acquire funding.

For this second funding opportunity, the South Jersey Resiliency Fund’s priority is to provide one-time general operating and program support grants to eligible organizations to support their missions during this time of increased uncertainty and rising demand for services from the communities they serve. Grant funds will be unrestricted and flexible. Grant recipients may use funding to address wide-ranging organizational needs, including, but not limited to, program continuation, organizational capacity building, technology and system upgrades, scenario planning, and other emergent needs.

Due to the anticipated scale of need, these grants are intended to complement the efforts of trusted community partners, grassroots, and community-based organizations. They are not intended to be at a scale to support public institutions strained by increased demand for services and/or decreased government funding.

The Gupta Family Foundation Grant aims to empower disadvantaged individuals by providing financial support to organizations that foster self-reliance. Headquartered in Herndon, Virginia, the foundation offers grants ranging from $5,000 to over $250,000, prioritizing smaller organizations with a strong commitment to their missions. Eligibility typically includes US-based IRS 501(c)(3) entities, with operations extending to countries like India and Kenya. The foundation emphasizes mission alignment and effective resource allocation to ensure maximum impact.

The Georgia-Pacific Foundation Grant supports organizations in the Metro Atlanta area, focusing on education, entrepreneurship, community enrichment, and environmental sustainability. Established in 1958, the foundation prioritizes investments that align with its mission and values, promoting long-term well-being within communities where Georgia-Pacific operates. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, public schools, and local government entities located within 30 miles of GP manufacturing sites.

The PLTW Engineering - New Program, supported by Burns & McDonnell, aims to empower U.S. students through STEM education. By offering at least one PLTW Engineering course in the 2026-2027 academic year, schools can enhance their curriculum and foster critical skills. This initiative not only increases access to valuable programs but also prepares students for future challenges in college and careers, ensuring they thrive in an evolving world.

The PLTW Engineering - Program Expansion initiative aims to enhance STEM education by increasing access to Project Lead The Way (PLTW) programs in communities served by Burns & McDonnell. This partnership focuses on empowering students through real-world learning experiences, helping them develop essential skills for future careers. Starting in the 2026-2027 academic year, grants will support schools in expanding their existing PLTW Engineering programs to foster greater participation and engagement in STEM fields.

The PLTW Gateway - New Program, in partnership with Burns & McDonnell, aims to enhance student engagement in STEM by providing teachers with essential resources and support. Starting in the 2026-2027 academic year, eligible schools can apply for grants to introduce and expand PLTW programs, fostering real-world skills through applied learning. This initiative targets schools with significant free and reduced-price lunch populations, promoting equity in education across various U.S. counties.

The PLTW Gateway - Program Expansion initiative, led by Burns & McDonnell in partnership with Project Lead The Way (PLTW), aims to enhance STEM education by increasing access to PLTW programs for students in eligible communities. This program empowers students through real-world applied learning experiences, promoting essential skills for college and careers. Grants will support schools in expanding their existing PLTW Gateway programs starting in the 2026-2027 academic year, fostering a brighter future through education.

This program emphasizes the importance of empowering educators and fostering student engagement in STEM fields to prepare them for future careers.

The PLTW Launch - Program Expansion initiative by Burns & McDonnell aims to enhance access to STEM education in U.S. schools. This program focuses on empowering students by providing real-world learning experiences and essential skills. Grants will support schools in expanding PLTW programs during the 2026-2027 academic year, benefiting students from underserved communities. By fostering a deeper understanding of STEM, the initiative seeks to inspire the next generation of innovators and problem solvers.

The Leader Scholarship Fund, established by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, supports students in HACC's LPN program from Cumberland, Dauphin, Lancaster, or York counties. It honors Governor George Leader, a champion for education and disabilities, and emphasizes financial need and a minimum GPA of 2.5. This initiative aims to empower future healthcare professionals while fostering community growth and equity in Pennsylvania.

The Impact100 South Jersey Grants: Core Mission Grant empowers women to collectively fund high-impact projects in Camden, Burlington, Gloucester, and Cumberland counties. By uniting over 100 women who contribute $1,000 each, the initiative aims to grant a minimum of $100,000 annually to vetted local organizations. Focus areas include women, children, families, education, and community health, supporting transformative projects that enhance community well-being and organizational capacity.

The TFEC Aspire to Rise Scholarship Fund, managed by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, offers financial support to non-traditional students aged 22 and older who have faced challenges in their educational journey. This scholarship is aimed at those pursuing higher education or vocational training, with special consideration for applicants without a post-secondary degree. Additionally, it supports individuals preparing for the GED, fostering opportunities for personal and professional growth in South Central Pennsylvania.

The Dr. Scholl Foundation offers grants annually to IRS 501(c)(3) organizations, primarily focusing on U.S. applicants. The foundation supports projects in education, social services, healthcare, civic and cultural initiatives, and environmental efforts. While the grant cycle runs from October 1 to March 1, it encourages innovative solutions to global challenges. Only one application per organization is accepted each year, and funding is limited to one year. Unqualified organizations, including political entities, are ineligible.

The Home Runs for Heroes Grants program, in collaboration with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, aims to support veterans and military personnel through charitable donations tied to home runs hit during games. Each charity partner receives $1,000 per home run scored in their assigned inning, with a minimum donation guaranteed. The initiative emphasizes health, housing, quality of life, and youth education, while ensuring compliance with non-discrimination policies and eligibility criteria for non-profit organizations.

The ACES Foundation Fund, managed by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, offers scholarships to high school seniors from Cumberland, Dauphin, or Perry County. Eligible students must pursue business-related studies or trades, demonstrate academic achievement with a minimum GPA of 2.5, and show commitment to community service. This initiative aims to support future entrepreneurs and enhance community development through educational funding.

The Central PA Architects Foundation Fund Architecture Scholarship, offered by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, supports students from select counties in Pennsylvania who are enrolled in architecture degree programs. This scholarship aims to foster educational opportunities for individuals demonstrating financial need and commitment to the field of architecture, ultimately contributing to the growth and development of local communities.

The Conrad Siegel “Numbers Matter” Community Scholarship Fund, established by Conrad M. Siegel, Inc., supports underserved students in Central PA pursuing degrees in math, finance, and related fields. This initiative aims to enhance diversity in financial professions by alleviating the financial burden of higher education for students from minority backgrounds. The Harry N. and Melva A. Derickson Scholarship, managed by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, supports residents of Cumberland, Dauphin, and Perry Counties pursuing degrees in medical, dental, nursing, physical therapy, or engineering fields. This endowment aims to promote academic achievement and community service, with a preference for gender balance in award distribution. By investing in future healthcare professionals, the scholarship fosters educational advancement and strengthens local communities.

The Jack and Edna May Yost Scholarship, managed by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, supports graduating seniors from Dauphin or Cumberland counties pursuing higher education at accredited colleges. Priority is given to children of postal employees and those majoring in nursing or education. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5, demonstrate community service, and show financial need. This scholarship aims to empower students and promote educational equity in the community.

The Mabel M. Witmer Scholarship Fund, managed by The Foundation for Enhancing Communities, supports students pursuing education in trade or technical schools. This fund aims to assist residents of Cumberland or Franklin County with financial need, especially those who have relevant work experience in their chosen field. By investing in education and skills development, the scholarship contributes to community empowerment and long-term economic growth in South Central Pennsylvania.

The OceanFirst Foundation is offering Summer Camp Grants totaling $75,000 to support nonprofits that provide camp scholarships of up to $250 per child. This initiative seeks organizations with impactful programs in counties across New Jersey, focusing on health, education, and youth development. Eligible applicants must align with the foundation's mission and demonstrate significant community service. Notably, organizations that discriminate or primarily serve religious purposes are ineligible for funding.

The Community Heroes Grant by Impact100 South Jersey aims to empower smaller nonprofits with operating budgets under $500,000. This initiative supports organizations making significant contributions in Burlington, Camden, Cumberland, and Gloucester Counties. By fostering collective giving among women, the grant enhances community impact, allowing deserving nonprofits to create transformational change. This program complements the larger Core Mission grant, ensuring that more organizations can receive vital support for their operations.
