Eligible nonprofits that align with our criteria may apply for funding on a rolling basis. The application window for invited organizations runs from February 10 to September 15. We emphasize local impact within a 20-mile radius of Corning, NY, ensuring that our contributions foster collective growth and engagement in the community.

The Santander Charitable Sponsorship Program focuses on supporting low- to moderate-income communities primarily in the Northeast and Florida. With a commitment of $100 million in charitable giving, the program addresses key community development needs, including affordable housing, job creation, financial education, and disaster relief. Eligible organizations must have IRS 501(c)(3) status or be public agencies, demonstrating capacity to meet community needs. Unsolicited applications are not accepted.

The Pathways to Recovery - Round 2 NGO grant aims to support individuals impacted by the opioid epidemic through training, career services, and employment opportunities. It will award funds to five organizations across New Jersey's North, Central, and South regions. The initiative focuses on enhancing workforce readiness and providing essential supportive services, fostering effective transitions to employment over a 24-month period starting June 1, 2025.

The Bayer Fund: Food & Nutrition Grant supports high-quality programs that combat malnutrition and improve access to nutritious foods, particularly for underserved communities and families with young children. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and government units. The fund prioritizes long-term behavioral change towards healthy eating and nutrition, with grants typically not exceeding 25% of an organization's operating budget. International requests start at $25,000, fostering sustainable food security and education initiatives.

The PNC Arts Alive initiative, launched by the PNC Foundation, is a transformative program aimed at enhancing access to the visual and performing arts across Greater Philadelphia, Delaware, and Southern New Jersey. With over $15 million granted since 2009, it supports diverse artistic endeavors, benefiting over 2 million community members. The program encourages innovative arts experiences through pop-up performances and mobile arts vans, ensuring that everyone, regardless of age or background, has the opportunity to engage with the arts.

South Jersey Resiliency Fund

South Jersey nonprofits are vital in fostering equitable and thriving communities for all, yet they are facing unprecedented challenges.

These organizations feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture residents across diverse demographics. As demand for their services continues to grow, funding has become more uncertain, impacting their ability to meet community needs fully.

South Jersey nonprofits urgently need support at a time when their role is more crucial than ever.

CFSJ and its partners have established the South Jersey Resiliency Fund to enable individuals and organizations to pool resources to support nonprofits facing increased demands and reduced resources.

Apply to the South Jersey Resiliency Fund – Round Two

Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (or those operating with a fiscal sponsor), with an annual operating budget of $1,000,000 or less, that provide services tied directly to the well-being of South Jersey neighbors in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and/or Salem counties are eligible to apply for support in this second round. 

The grant application has been designed to request only the necessary information required to award a grant. In addition to basic organizational contact information, applicants will provide a brief overview of the services their organization offers, insight into the cause of the increased demand for them, and an explanation of the intended impact on the South Jersey community they serve.

For this second round, grant awards will be $10,000 and are expected to be expended within 12 months. We anticipate awarding a total of 25 to 30 grants in this round, and all grant recipients must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or partner with one to acquire funding.

For this second funding opportunity, the South Jersey Resiliency Fund’s priority is to provide one-time general operating and program support grants to eligible organizations to support their missions during this time of increased uncertainty and rising demand for services from the communities they serve. Grant funds will be unrestricted and flexible. Grant recipients may use funding to address wide-ranging organizational needs, including, but not limited to, program continuation, organizational capacity building, technology and system upgrades, scenario planning, and other emergent needs.

Due to the anticipated scale of need, these grants are intended to complement the efforts of trusted community partners, grassroots, and community-based organizations. They are not intended to be at a scale to support public institutions strained by increased demand for services and/or decreased government funding.

The Home Runs for Heroes Grants program, in collaboration with the Jersey Shore BlueClaws, aims to support veterans and military personnel through charitable donations tied to home runs hit during games. Each charity partner receives $1,000 per home run scored in their assigned inning, with a minimum donation guaranteed. The initiative emphasizes health, housing, quality of life, and youth education, while ensuring compliance with non-discrimination policies and eligibility criteria for non-profit organizations.

The JOIN! Grant, part of OceanFirst Foundation's initiative, aims to enhance civic engagement and community connections. This grant supports nonprofits that align with the foundation's funding priorities and demonstrate significant local impact in New Jersey's counties. Eligible organizations can apply for funding to further their work in building social capital, following the inspiration from the documentary "Join or Die" and the book "The Upswing". The Delaware Watershed Conservation Fund, initiated in 2018, aims to enhance ecosystems in the Delaware River watershed through grants supporting habitat restoration and water quality improvement. With $72.1 million awarded to 239 projects, it has significantly impacted over 26 miles of riparian habitat and 77 miles of stream habitat, along with conserving 1,176 acres of wetlands. This initiative, funded by the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, also emphasizes outdoor recreation and community vitality in the region.

The OceanFirst Foundation is offering Summer Camp Grants totaling $75,000 to support nonprofits that provide camp scholarships of up to $250 per child. This initiative seeks organizations with impactful programs in counties across New Jersey, focusing on health, education, and youth development. Eligible applicants must align with the foundation's mission and demonstrate significant community service. Notably, organizations that discriminate or primarily serve religious purposes are ineligible for funding.

The New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Community Health Services (DCHS), Community Health and Wellness Unit is pleased to release the Request for Applications (RFA) to eligible organizations interested in implementing the Childhood and Adult Asthma Program (CAAP). Applicants will be required to serve all designated municipalities and counties within their selected scope. A total of two (2) grant will be awarded.

The Childhood and Adult Asthma Program (CAAP) aim is to reduce the prevalence of asthma attacks and asthma related deaths in both children and adults by increasing asthma awareness and reduce disparities through comprehensive evidence-based strategies.

Creative & Performing Arts

The Pincus Family Foundation’s Creative and Performing Arts portfolio supports programs where young people use art as a tool to address the structural inequities they face. Five strategic priorities:

• Arts for Social Change Focus – Integrating artistic practice with community organizing, policy advocacy, and/or systemic change efforts
• Hyperlocal Community Integration – Deep community embedment with extensive local partnerships
• Teaching Artist Investment – Commitment to the professional development and well-being of teaching artists
• Cultural Responsiveness – Programming that incorporates community cultural wealth with community input
• Environmental Justice Integration – Authentic integration of environmental themes from community-identified priorities

Target Constituency: Organizations serving preK-12 youth from marginalized communities with arts for social change programming that connects them to the power of art to question and transform systems.

Education

High school readiness for many low-income students, largely is a result of poor preparation in middle school. PFF is funding programs/projects that support middle school engagement and focus on achievement filling a funding gap. 

Target Constituency: We support non-profit organizations serving middle school students who face gaps in comprehensive high school readiness. These organizations implement innovative programming that creates challenging yet nurturing environments—preparing students for achievement while inspiring them to become engaged, confident citizens ready to contribute to their communities.

Health & Wellness

Goal: Advance children’s health and well-being by supporting nonprofits that strengthen social conditions, empower youth, and build healthier environments in marginalized communities.

Target Constituency: Nonprofits whose work strengthens social determinants of health for children in marginalized communities.

Play & Recreation

Goal: Advance children’s social-emotional development and physical well-being by supporting nonprofits that create inclusive play-based programming, competitive sports opportunities, and outdoor recreational experiences in under-resourced communities.

Target Constituency: Non-profits whose work promotes access to quality recreational programming for children ages 6-18 in under-resourced communities.

For all grants, the organization’s mission and scope must align with the Foundation’s mission. For the latter, these grants can be either unrestricted or restricted to a particular program or project. The type of grant and what it is used for will dictate the goals and objectives to be met.

The Sustainable Communities Grant Program - Resiliency Grants aims to empower New Jersey municipalities by providing $35,000 in funding from Atlantic City Electric for environmental stewardship and resiliency projects. Grants of $5,000 will be awarded to support initiatives that enhance community capacity to prevent and respond to emergencies. This program works collaboratively with Sustainable Jersey to build a sustainable future through proven best practices, training, and financial incentives.

The Sustainable Communities Grant Program, funded by Atlantic City Electric and Sustainable Jersey, aims to enhance environmental stewardship in New Jersey. With a total of $35,000 available, the program will award five grants of $5,000 each to municipalities for projects that improve public spaces, such as parks and natural areas. This initiative supports sustainability efforts and empowers communities to create a healthier environment for future generations.

The Ferguson Cares Grant is an essential aspect of Ferguson's Sustainability strategy, focusing on social challenges and community wellbeing. This grant supports nonprofit organizations in the U.S. dedicated to affordable housing, skilled trades workforce development, clean water access, and enhancing local economic quality of life. Ferguson aims to create lasting partnerships that drive positive impact within their operational regions, reflecting their commitment to social responsibility and community support.

The PNC Foundation's Grow Up Great Grant is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for children from birth to age 5. With a commitment of $500 million, this program focuses on improving school readiness through support in vocabulary development, social-emotional learning, and the arts. By partnering with community-based nonprofits, PNC aims to foster stronger, smarter, and healthier communities, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.

The Local Public Health Overdose Fatality Review Teams Grant Program, administered by the New Jersey Department of Health, aims to enhance public health responses to overdose fatalities. This initiative will provide $75,000 to 20 local health departments to support their established review teams. These teams will analyze overdose cases, identify systemic gaps, and devise strategies to mitigate future overdoses, ultimately working towards reducing overdose-related deaths in their communities.

The Comcast NBCUniversal Foundation offers Local Impact Grants to nonprofit organizations in 11 markets, providing $225,000 to support local programs addressing community issues. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits with a revenue exceeding $100,000 and must operate in one of the specified television markets. The grants aim to empower youth through education, promote diverse storytelling, and enhance community engagement. This initiative underscores Comcast's commitment to fostering inclusion and equitable opportunities for underserved communities.

Event Sponsorships

The Brinker International Charitable Giving Program focuses on giving back to communities through support for kids, hunger, and education. Organizations eligible for funding must be 501c(3) non-profits and submit requests at least six weeks prior to events. The program does not support individuals, political or religious organizations, or explicit discrimination policies. Funding is provided through monetary donations or in-kind contributions like dining certificates.

The Frank H. Stewart Trust Grant aims to support the purchase of land for public parks, recreation grounds, and wildlife preservation in specific New Jersey counties. Established through Mr. Stewart's will, the Trust also funds maintenance and improvements of previously acquired lands. Eligible applicants include local municipalities within Gloucester, Salem, Atlantic, Cumberland, and Cape May Counties, ensuring that the land serves public interests and maintains ecological integrity.

The Delaware River Watershed Protection Fund: Catalyst Grants, initiated in 2014 by the Open Space Institute, aims to enhance water resource management and land protection. These grants support organizations addressing climate change, environmental justice, and community resilience. Eligible applicants include not-for-profit organizations and Indigenous-led groups. Funded projects should integrate science into conservation plans, focusing on water quality and stewardship. The initiative collaborates with the William Penn Foundation to ensure sustainable water practices across the Delaware River watershed.

The Delaware River Watershed Protection Fund provides Transaction Grants to support early-stage forest land protection projects. These grants cover essential costs such as appraisals and environmental assessments, facilitating timely funding within two weeks of approval. With a cap of $25,000, these grants ensure that critical projects aimed at preserving the watershed's ecological integrity can progress, ultimately benefiting the drinking water supply and biodiversity for millions in the region.

The TD Bank Community Sponsorships Program, supported by the TD Charitable Foundation, provides funding for events and activities that positively impact communities from Maine to Florida. This initiative aims to enhance community awareness and foster partnerships among diverse groups, promoting economic development, cultural enrichment, and social responsibility. Organizations can apply for funding to support community-oriented programs, with applications reviewed quarterly. It's essential to submit applications at least 90 days before the event deadlines.

The National Estuary Program Watersheds Grant Program, administered by Restore America’s Estuaries and supported by the EPA, funds competitive projects addressing critical threats to estuaries. Key priorities include habitat restoration, enhancing coastal resilience against extreme weather, managing nutrient impacts, and mitigating stormwater runoff. Established in 1987, the program aims to improve ecological integrity and water quality in 28 estuaries nationwide, providing essential funding and guidance to local initiatives.

The OceanFirst Scholarship Program, supported by the OceanFirst Foundation, has awarded over $4.3 million in scholarships to nearly 3,000 students in the past fifteen years. In 2025, $225,000 will be distributed to partner schools including Atlantic Cape Community College and Monmouth University, providing $1,000 to community college students and $2,500 to those at four-year institutions. Each school independently evaluates applications, ensuring fair selection based on their own criteria.
