High-Achieving Four-Year Scholarship

This 4-year scholarship is given annually to students who have demonstrated overall academic achievement and dedication to service within the school and in his/her community, and have low family income. The Foundation also considers applicants’ motivation, financial need, and personal experiences.

Maintenance

In order to maintain the scholarship each year, the recipient must maintain a minimum overall 3.0 GPA throughout his/her college studies.

The David Roy Kovacs Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Greater New Britain, supports local high school graduates from New Britain who plan to pursue further education at community colleges, trade schools, or vocational schools. The Robert Bulger Memorial Scholarship Fund was established at The Community Foundation of Westmoreland County by a community member and long-time supporter of Jeannette District Memorial Hospital in honor of its former CEO and President, Robert J. Bulger. Scholarships are to benefit graduating high school senior from Jeannette High School, Hempfield High School and Penn Trafford High School who wish to earn credits within the healthcare field that lead to an associate degree, diploma, certificate or a baccalaureate degree program at a two or four-year institution.

Outreach Foundation Helen Bonser Scholarship

This scholarship supports the educational aspirations of individuals from Spokane and Kootenai Counties who identify as LGBTQA+ or Allies, helping them achieve their academic and career goals while fostering a sense of community engagement. 

Applicants should demonstrate exceptional character, leadership, and/or LGBTQA+ community involvement. Recipients are eligible to re-apply and compete for the Outreach Foundation Helen Bonser Scholarship after a waiting period of 5 years.

Newport Priest River Rotary & Howard Wildin Education Scholarship

Scholarships and individual awards to achieve a specific objective will be made in the form of grants to students, apprentices or interns participating in a training program, internship, or apprenticeship to prepare them for gainful employment in a recognized occupation that is not prohibited under federal or state law. Such grants will be awarded to individuals to improve or enhance a vocational skill; and develop specialized skills or knowledge in literary, artistic, musical, scientific, teaching or other similar skills or talents.

The purpose of the scholarship is to broaden the awareness of opportunities in STEM by supporting students who have been disproportionately affected by systemic barriers to educational achievement.

Witzleben Scholarship

To provide financial support to high school graduate(s) residing on the Standing Rock Reservation in South Dakota and North Dakota

The Witzleben twins are proud to be descendants of people who lived on the land now known as the Standing Rock Reservation. Their father, Camillus Witzleben, was born in South Dakota to parents who both worked in education. He became a medical doctor and later taught at the University of Pennsylvania Medical School. Camillus inherited land on the Standing Rock Reservation from his father, and he passed it on to his daughters, including the twins. Through the establishment of this scholarship, the sisters aim to support a resident of the Standing Rock Reservation in pursuing their education. This scholarship is a way to honor their ancestors and celebrate their own native heritage.

The William Schreck Education Scholarship, offered by the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation, supports students from the Elk Grove Unified School District pursuing a four-year degree. Applicants must demonstrate financial need, show interest in education, and maintain full-time status while participating in school and community activities. Scholarships are funded through community donations, ensuring local students receive the support they need to achieve their academic goals.

The Melvin Arthur Peters Memorial Scholarship honors the legacy of Melvin Peters, a self-taught tradesman and entrepreneur from Shawano County. This scholarship supports high school seniors pursuing education in trades, reflecting Mel's commitment to hard work and skill development. Award amounts vary based on attendance costs, with disbursement in the first semester of college. Eligibility requires enrollment as a part-time or full-time student, emphasizing Mel's values of education and practical skills.

The Wilton Rancheria Tribe Scholarship, offered by the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation, supports graduating seniors from the Miwok Native American Tribe. This scholarship aims to assist students pursuing post-secondary education at universities, colleges, or vocational schools. Candidates must demonstrate financial need and participate in community activities, while attending designated schools in the Elk Grove area. This initiative fosters educational growth and cultural representation within the community.

The Batten Disease Clinical Research Consortium (BDCRC) Early Career Investigator Grant aims to enhance the training of emerging clinician-scientists in rare disease research, particularly neuronal ceroid lipofuscinosis (NCL). This grant supports two post-graduate clinician investigators in conducting innovative research to improve care for individuals with NCLs. The program emphasizes the importance of community partnership, operational efficiency, and high-quality data to advance the development of new therapies and improve existing care standards.

The X Hope Scholarship, offered by the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation, supports foster or adopted youth pursuing post-secondary education at a four-year university, community college, or vocational college. Applicants are required to be full-time students and participate in school and community activities. A short essay detailing the impact of their adoption or foster family is also required. This scholarship is a valuable resource for students in the Elk Grove Unified School District.
