Thanks to visionary volunteer leadership of AGC industry leaders, the AGC Education and Research Foundation, founded in 1968, has for 50 years made good on its commitment to support the future of our industry through its robust scholarship program and innovative projects.
Research Initiatives
The AGC Education and Research Foundation directly responded to needs identified by AGC members and our partners at the Associated Schools of Construction (ASC) and American Council for Construction Education (ACCE). The Robert L. Bowen Industry Residency Fund and the Klinger Case Study Fund provide construction faculty nationwide with the resources necessary to support tomorrow's constructors in the classroom.
James L. Allhands Student Essay Competition
The James L. Allhands Essay was established by the late James L. Allhands, one of the founding members of AGC and a prolific writer of construction related works. The award recognizes a student essay on a specific topic that is deemed to be beneficial to the advancement of technological, educational, or vocational expertise in the construction industry.
The competition is open to any senior–level student in a four or five–year ABET or ACCE–accredited university construction management or construction–related engineering program.
Both the recipient and sponsor are invited as guests of the Foundation to the AGC Annual Convention. The topic for the 2027 Allhands Essay Competition is: "Promoting Effective Collaboration during Preconstruction ".
David Webb Memorial Scholarship
To provide financial support for graduates of Cheyenne-Eagle Butte, Faith, Dupree, Timber Lake, Mc Laughlin and McIntosh High School.
UCHealth Employee Scholarships
With thanks to our generous donors, UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation is pleased to offer academic scholarships to UCHealth employees in northern Colorado.
Scholarships are available to support permanent and relief employees’ academic pursuits toward an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctorate program. Applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible via the completion of a single application.
Awards are typically paid-out in August, 2026. Scholarship award amounts may vary from $500-$2,000.

ACSM Fellowship
CSM Fellow members have demonstrated high standards of professional development and shown a commitment to the goals and long‑range activities of the college.

Gabilan Hope Scholarship
School District (SUHSD). This program was established in 2015 by a grant from a private donor in San Francisco. His intention was to provide exceptional migrant students from often hard-pressed backgrounds with the opportunity to complete their undergraduate education by reducing the financial burdens they may face.

NOTICE TO STUDENTS WISHING TO ATTEND HARTNELL COLLEGE
The overall goal of the Gabilan Hope Scholarship is to support qualified students to complete their undergraduate degrees at the university level. However, due to the significant barriers caused by the COVID pandemic, a number of Gabilan Hope Scholarship (GHS) applicants are choosing to attend Hartnell College, our region’s well-respected community college.
Students attending Hartnell may qualify for $500 annual GHS renewal scholarships if, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, they join academic cohort programs designed to support their transition to four-year schools, or accelerate their advancement to graduation.

The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship honors the late Agnes Jones Jackson who was a long-time NAACP member from the San Francisco branch.

Glen Hawk Sr. Endowed Scholarship Fund
This scholarship benefits a Shasta County graduating high school senior who is pursuing a vocational or technical certification at an accredited technical school or community college.
The Glen Hawk Sr. Endowed Scholarship Fund was established by Helen Hawk, in memory of her husband. Glen Hawk Sr. served on the Shasta High School Board of Directors from 1979-1989.
