The Avista Foundation offers sponsorships to non-profit organizations that support community needs in areas served by Avista Utilities and Alaska Electric Light and Power Co. Focused on education, environment, and cultural vitality, the foundation invites applications year-round for event sponsorships, requiring a 90-day review period. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) charities and civic groups within the service area, while requests for religious or political activities are not accepted.

The Hampton Roads Planning Grants support coalitions of 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations aiming to address community issues through collaborative projects. Grants of up to $25,000 are available for one year, covering essential planning activities such as staff oversight and site visits. Organizations must submit a Letter of Intent, and participation does not guarantee funding for implementation. Priority areas for 2025 include organizational restructuring and mental health services.

The Organizational Development Grant by the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts aims to enhance nonprofit effectiveness through funding small capital needs. This initiative supports vital resources such as furniture, equipment, and technology, ensuring nonprofits can sustain their impact. Eligible organizations can apply once per program, fostering collaboration and measurable outcomes. The Community Enrichment Grant, offered by the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts, aims to enhance community vitality through support for local arts, culture, civic engagement, and development projects. Grants typically range from $2,000 to $15,000, with a focus on fostering inclusive relationships among residents and organizations. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, while individuals and for-profit entities are ineligible. This initiative seeks to create impactful and measurable community improvements.

Community Event Sponsorships

Each year, we devote a small portion of our operating budget to support area nonprofit organizations’ events. We know these events are vital to your organization’s fiscal health, that they help you more deeply connect with community partners, and that they offer opportunities to celebrate and elevate your organization’s impact, milestones, and mission. Event sponsorships also offer our staff and volunteers the opportunity to engage and partner with your team, and to learn more about your organization.

How can my organization apply for an Event Sponsorship?

We review and decline / award sponsorship requests on a first come, first serve basis beginning each fiscal year start of April 1, so the earlier you apply, the better! Our easy-to-use form captures all of information needed for us to make a funding decision. Once a request has been submitted, you’ll receive a confirmation email, and we will notify you of our funding decision within 5-7 business days after submission.

How much money can my organization receive?

You can apply for any amount, but our awards are typically between $500 and $1,500.

How do you decide which requests to fund?

We strive to fund Community Event Sponsorships in a fair and equitable way. We carefully consider each request to ensure that we are funding a wide variety of events who represent some or all of the following criteria:

• Donor audiences
• A variety of nonprofit sectors
• Our broad geographic region
• Underserved / underrepresented groups and populations

The Fund for York County offers THRIVE Grants over $10,000 aimed at supporting nonprofits and public agencies in York County. These grants focus on initiatives that enhance economic mobility for low-income individuals through career development, health, housing, and transportation projects. Organizations must submit a Letter of Inquiry by specified deadlines to be considered for funding. The grants are part of a strategic effort to address pressing community issues and foster impactful collaborations.

The Trull Foundation offers local sponsorship grants to organizations seeking funding for events under $1,500, prioritizing children in rural areas, those affected by substance abuse, and projects in the coastal Texas environment. Interested applicants should submit requests at least one month prior to their events. The foundation values cooperation with other organizations and may provide guidance on project assistance, ensuring resources are effectively utilized for community benefit.

The Woods Hole Foundation Grant offers funding to local non-profit organizations primarily serving the Woods Hole/Falmouth area. Since 1979, it has supported various community initiatives, with typical grants ranging from $250 to $5,000. The annual application period runs from January 1 to March 31, with funds awarded in mid-May. The Foundation encourages proposals that address specific projects, including support for events or capital improvements, while also considering general program support.

The Encova Foundation of Ohio Grant supports local initiatives that align with the values of its associates and policyholders. It focuses on community improvement, education, and wellness, emphasizing volunteer involvement and strong governance. Organizations that discriminate or serve exclusive memberships are ineligible. Preference is given to groups that actively engage Encova associates in leadership roles, ensuring impactful contributions to the communities where they work and live.

The Mount Airy/Surry County Community Foundation Grant supports local nonprofit organizations in Surry County by addressing community needs through annual grants. Established in 1999, this foundation encourages philanthropy by allowing individuals to create endowments or contribute to existing funds. Grants up to $1,500 are available, prioritizing organizations that are tax-exempt and serve the local community without discrimination. The PTCF Community Impact Grant supports nonprofit organizations serving the Lake Tahoe Region.
