Our Mission is to foster pathways to success in globally competitive STEM careers for students in the United States.

We want to help ensure that the United States remains a global thought leader in all forms of science, math, and technology by promoting projects which encourage, enhance and advance STEM education in this country and to promote projects which provide career opportunities for individuals with STEM education backgrounds.

The Foundation, formed in 2022, seeks to give students and educators more resources for developing and participating in STEM-based, hands-on learning. As a Foundation, we want to support STEM education programs that are making a difference for students regardless of their background or resources. We want every student in America to have enough exposure to STEM from an early age and to transform our attitudes around STEM subjects. We are working towards changing the narrative that promotes STEM subjects as challenging and difficult to the idea that a broad knowledge of STEM education is imperative for socioeconomic and economic freedom as an adult, for all.

We will support Innovative Environmental Projects (IEPs) that utilize interdisciplinary research to identify and address critical environmental problems with cutting-edge, innovative solutions that are scalable and replicable.

Scientific Research

Contribute to advancements in biomedical research and innovation to accelerate the progress in medical research and drug treatment development - specifically for high-mortality, under-funded areas of need such as pancreatic and colon cancers.

Urban & Community Entrepreneurship

Advancing entrepreneurship in moderate-income and underserved communities to help business leaders of today and tomorrow prosper. The focus of this program is to help foster economic empowerment by investing in organizations focusing on one individual, one job, and one business at a time.

The Valley Community Foundation (VCF) offers grants ranging from $250 to $10,000 to support innovative programs and address urgent needs of nonprofits in Ansonia, Derby, Oxford, Seymour, and Shelton, Connecticut. Funding may cover virtual programs or capacity-building needs, but cannot be used for past debts or general operating costs. Eligible applicants must be tax-exempt organizations or have a fiscal sponsor with such status and adhere to a non-discrimination policy.

The P/Arts Program

The P/Arts Program was created to strengthen connections between the philanthropic, arts, and education communities, fostering meaningful collaborations that enrich learning and inspire growth.

Eligible applicants must be accredited 501(c)(3) organizations that integrate visual and/or performing arts education into their work. Through P/Arts, we seek to support programs that:

The Point32Health Foundation Grant focuses on advancing equity in aging by providing multi-year, general operating grants to nonprofits in Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. The Foundation seeks to empower organizations that advocate for systemic change and improve health outcomes in underprivileged areas. The Southbury Community Trust Fund Grant aims to support programs benefiting Southbury residents through collaboration and partnerships. Priority is given to initiatives in social services, health education, youth development, and community enhancement. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and municipal entities. The fund does not support political or religious requests and encourages projects that serve the local community and promote advocacy efforts. This grant fosters community resilience and cultural heritage.

The Men & Boys' Fund Grant, established in 2016, aims to enhance the lives of men and boys in Connecticut's Bristol, Burlington, Plainville, Plymouth, Southington, and Wolcott areas. Grants support nonprofit organizations focused on education, health, leadership, and workforce readiness. Eligible applicants must serve males of any age and provide strong documentation of community impact. The Women & Girls’ Fund, established by the Main Street Community Foundation in 2001, supports organizations that empower women and girls in Connecticut. Who We Are

The National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut (NFBCT), an affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind, is an organization that believes in the full capacity of blind people, and has the power, influence, diversity and determination to help transform our dreams into reality. Members work together for a brighter tomorrow by raising expectations so that blind persons can live the life they want.

The National Federation of the Blind of Connecticut is a 501c(3) nonprofit volunteer membership organization comprised of blind and interested sighted persons of all ages, their families and friends. Our committed local chapters, divisions, committees, programs, and well-trained leaders help newly blind people adjust to vision loss, and promote the full participation and integration of blind people in our communities. We bring our collective experiences together to effect change at the state and national level.

Technology Grant

The NFB of CT Technology Grant will be awarded twice per calendar year. Grants are awarded twice per calendar year and each award shall not exceed $500.00. The first applications will be accepted from January 31st to April 30th for an award to be announced on June 1st. The second application period is from July 31st to September 30th with an award announced at the State Convention.

The committee will review applications and announcements will be made as specified. Currently the Grant is awarded at cost of need but will not exceed $500.00. Purchases are made through the NFBCT Office. Should the item cost more than the award amount, awardee will pay to the Office the needed difference prior to the purchase.

The Women & Girls Fund Grants, administered by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, aim to empower women and girls across Eastern Connecticut through various initiatives. With a focus on equity and social justice, the fund provides support for mentorship, healthy relationships, economic security, and access to health services. It serves regions including Northeast, Norwich, Southeast, and Windham, addressing critical needs while fostering leadership and advocacy for women and girls.

The Rockfall Foundation is accepting applications for its 2026 Annual Environmental Grants Program, aimed at non-profit organizations, municipalities, and schools. This program supports projects focused on environmental conservation, restoration, and education in the Lower Connecticut River Valley. Eligible expenses include materials, transportation, and program fees. Connecticut Humanities offers Public Presentation Planning Grants of up to $25,000 to support the research and development of humanities projects. These grants enable organizations to conduct scholarly research, gather stakeholder feedback, and prepare for project implementation. The initiative promotes diversity, equity, and inclusion, ensuring that the humanities intersect with various fields like arts and STEM. By funding such projects, Connecticut Humanities aims to strengthen community engagement and enhance understanding of cultural and historical narratives.

Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services

The Department of Mental Health and Addiction Services (DMHAS) promotes and administers comprehensive, recovery-oriented services in the areas of mental health treatment and substance abuse prevention and treatment throughout Connecticut.

While the Department's prevention services serve all Connecticut citizens, its mandate is to serve adults (over 18 years of age) with psychiatric or substance use disorders, or both, who lack the financial means to obtain such services on their own. DMHAS also provides collaborative programs for individuals with special needs, such as persons with HIV/AIDS infection, people in the criminal justice system, those with problem gambling disorders, substance abusing pregnant women, persons with traumatic brain injury or hearing impairment, those with co-occurring substance abuse and mental illness, and special populations transitioning out of the Department of Children and Families.

Building Resilient Youth and Communities with Prevention (BRYCWP)

RFP Purpose

DMHAS seeks to fund up to ten (10) eligible proposers to implement evidence-based prevention strategies aimed at reducing underage drinking / alcohol use and an optional second prevention priority among youth ages 12-20 in communities. Funded organizations will be required to apply the SPF to guide their work, with a focus on reducing risk factors, strengthening protective factors, and achieving sustainable, community-level impact.

Contracts may be awarded for a term of up to five (5) years, and applicants must demonstrate the capacity to lead local prevention coalitions, implement effective strategies, and evaluate outcomes using measurable indicators.

The Quinnipiac River Fund Grants, founded in 1990, aim to enhance the environmental quality of the Quinnipiac River and New Haven Harbor. Annually, over $100,000 is allocated to projects focusing on pollution reduction, ecological research, public education, and habitat restoration. Eligible applicants include tax-exempt organizations and their fiscal agents. Priority is given to local nonprofits. This fund supports initiatives that significantly improve the health of the river and its surrounding watersheds.

Program Overview

The State of Connecticut, represented by DMHAS, in its effort to successfully implement a comprehensive CIT Statewide Model including CIT training, collaboration and partnerships with community members, requests proposals from qualified CIT trained entities to provide submissions that effectively describe a plan to provide CIT Training statewide to law enforcement officers, first responders and behavioral health clinicians.

The statewide CIT Statewide Model and Training is designed to equip law enforcement officers, first responders, dispatch/911, mental health professionals, and other relevant stakeholders with the knowledge, skills, and resources necessary to effectively respond to individuals in crisis.

The Connecticut Community Foundation offers the Older Adults: Pathways Grants & Mini-Grants to support programs enhancing the quality of life for older adults. Established in 2009, the fund focuses on healthy aging, community engagement, and educational opportunities. Grants are available to nonprofits and municipalities within a 21-town service area, promoting intergenerational projects and civic participation. The initiative emphasizes collaboration and innovative solutions to meet the needs of the aging population.

The AARP Community Challenge Grant in Connecticut funds projects aimed at enhancing community livability. This initiative supports quick-action projects that improve public spaces, transportation, and housing, particularly benefiting residents aged 50 and older. With a focus on accessibility and connectivity, the grant encourages local organizations to implement innovative solutions that foster inclusive environments. Eligible applicants include nonprofits and municipalities committed to making impactful changes in their communities, aligning with AARP’s mission to support aging populations.

The Cigna Group Foundation is launching the Improving Youth Mental Health Grant, committing $9 million over three years to enhance mental health support for youth aged five to 18. This initiative targets post-pandemic challenges, offering resources to parents, caregivers, and youth service professionals. Nonprofits are encouraged to apply for funding between $100,000 and $150,000 to develop programs that promote social-emotional skills, enhance caregiver support, and improve access to mental health interventions in underserved communities.

The NCAAA Alzheimer’s Aide Grant aims to enhance adult day care services for individuals with Alzheimer’s disease and related dementias in North Central Connecticut. This initiative, backed by the North Central Area Agency on Aging, will provide funding to support specialized care positions and ensure that centers meet the needs of this vulnerable population. The program underscores NCAAA's commitment to improving the quality of life for older adults and their families through effective resource allocation.

The CCF: Arts and Culture Grants aim to enhance access to creative arts programs while addressing disparities in the arts. The Community Foundation for Greater New Haven offers grants up to $15,000 through the Community Fund for Women & Girls. This initiative aims to enhance economic security for women by supporting nonprofits focused on workforce training, entrepreneurship, housing stability, and innovative childcare solutions. Eligible organizations must serve the Greater New Haven area and comply with tax-exempt status requirements. Priority is given to programs that provide wraparound services to ensure comprehensive support for women in need.

250th Anniversary of the United States of America Grant

The Community Foundation announces an expansion of its civic engagement grants program to include a grants initiative focused on building democracy as we commemorate the 250th anniversary of the United States of America.

What will be funded: Projects for local school-aged youth to increase their understanding of democracy.

Examples of potential grants

• Projects that highlight untold stories of marginalized people from the past or present such as women, indigenous people, people of color, or young people who have played a role in building, protecting or strengthening democracy.
• Using the arts, theater, music and dance, to connect past (including pre-revolution), present and future to make connections to building a strong civic society.

The Evelyn S. and K.E. Barrett Foundation, established in 2007, is dedicated to enhancing children's health, safety, and education. Founded by Evelyn and Kenneth Barrett, the Foundation focuses on providing opportunities for children in need, both domestically and internationally. Grants support various initiatives, including health, education, and human services, with a particular emphasis on benefiting children up to 18 years old. The David N. Lane Trust for Aged & Indigent Women Grant supports quality human services and health care for underserved senior women in Fairfield and New Haven Counties, Connecticut. Established in 1964, the grant prioritizes programs that directly benefit this demographic. However, it does not consider requests for capital projects, ensuring funding is directed toward immediate service needs. Organizations must demonstrate a commitment to serving older women in these communities to be eligible.
