Since our creation by Congress in 1984, NFWF has grown to become the nation’s largest private conservation foundation. We work with both the public and private sectors to protect and restore our nation’s fish, wildlife, plants and habitats for current and future generations.

NFWF supports conservation efforts across all 50 states and U.S. territories. Since our founding, we've funded over 23,300 rigorously evaluated projects, awarded to both large environmental organizations and small local initiatives. Chesapeake Bay Innovative Nutrient and Sediment Reduction Grants

The National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), in partnership with the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and the federal-state Chesapeake Bay Program (CBP) partnership, is soliciting pre-proposals through the Innovative Nutrient and Sediment Reduction (INSR) Grants program to improve water quality and reduce nutrient and sediment pollution to the Chesapeake Bay and its tributary rivers and streams. Major funding for the INSR Grants program is provided by EPA, with other important contributions from Altria Group, the U.S. Department of Agriculture Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), and the U.S. Forest Service.

Delaware Community Foundation

The Delaware Community Foundation (DCF) is a nonprofit organization focused on partnering with donors to build opportunity and advance equity in Delaware. Capital One Grant: Improving Community Vital Conditions

Each year, the DCF awards millions of dollars in grants to support the work of nonprofits addressing Delaware’s greatest needs and opportunities, with an eye to building opportunity and advancing equity.

Capital One’s Improving Community Vital Conditions grant is designed to expand economic opportunity for low- and moderate-income (LMI) consumers and communities. The Capital One grant program in collaboration with Healthy Communities Delaware (HCD) at the DCF is currently accepting applications for grants to support projects and services that focus on improving community vital conditions. Grant proposals should aim to improve one or more of the Vital Conditions for Well-Being within LMI communities.

The Bank of America Client Foundation Grant Program supports nonprofit organizations in Sarasota, FL and Delaware, focusing on arts, education, historic preservation, and human services. Grants range from $5,000 to $40,000, averaging around $20,000. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) public charities and generally receive one-year grants. The foundation prioritizes program-related funding, while avoiding grants to individuals and for general operating expenses.

The Gilliam Foundation Grant supports innovative programs that enhance the quality of life for Delawareans, with a focus on the African American community. Healthy Communities Delaware

Healthy Communities Delaware (HCD) is pleased to announce this Request for Proposals for work that advances community level-change and improves the Vital Conditions that all people and communities need to thrive—humane housing, lifelong learning, a thriving natural environment, meaningful work and wealth, basic needs for health and safety, reliable transportation, a sense of belonging and civic muscle. This funding aims to support projects that align with their mission of working with communities, investors and systems to create thriving places for thriving people.

The Synod of the Mid-Atlantic's Thanksgiving Offering Fund supports child and youth care agencies through grants funded by the generous contributions of Presbyterians. Established in 2001, this initiative allows individuals, groups, and congregations to donate, ensuring continued support for vital services. Contributions can be made through direct donations, bequests, or gifts of various assets. Funds are allocated based on designations and a formula for undesignated contributions, promoting community welfare.

The Presbytery Initiative Grants, funded by the Synod of the Mid-Atlantic, support mission projects endorsed by two presbyteries. These grants are made possible through generous donations from Presbyterians, emphasizing community contributions to sustain funding. Applications are accepted twice a year, with deadlines on February 1st and August 1st. Friends of NRA

Friends of NRA is the National Rifle Association’s premier fundraising program, supporting the future of shooting sports. Since day one, Friends of NRA has been a 100% grassroots effort fueled by a united front to secure the Second Amendment and raise money for the shooting sports.

Committee volunteers are appointed to State Fund Committees to make recommendations for local grant funding in areas such as youth education, women-focused clinics, law enforcement training, hunter safety, range improvement, firearms and marksmanship training and safety. Recognizing the impact American youth has on the future of the shooting sports, State Fund Committees frequently recommend grants for youth programs, allocating the most significant portion of monies to this vital area.

Grant awards fund activities and support programs in the United States to promote firearms and hunting safety, to enhance marksmanship skills of those in the shooting sports, and to educate the public about firearms in their historic, technological and artistic context.

Friends of NRA State Fund Grant Program - Delaware

The Friends of NRA State Fund Grant Program provides supplies, equipment, and financial support to a variety of qualified groups and programs at the local level; geared towards youth, women, law enforcement, veterans, the disabled, and the general public, including:

• General shooting programs
• Competitive shooting
• Education, training and safety
• Hunting and conservation
• Community outreach
• Historical education

Grant funding must be used to further a charitable purpose as defined by the Internal Revenue Code under section 501(c)(3) and accompanying rules, regulations, and other IRS law and materials.

The Mid-Atlantic Environmental Justice Fund aims to promote environmental justice through community forestry initiatives. About Northeast SARE

The Northeast Sustainable Agriculture Research and Education (SARE) Program offers grants and education to farmers, educators, service providers, researchers and others to address key issues affecting the sustainability of agriculture throughout our region.

The program serves Connecticut, Delaware, Massachusetts, Maryland, Maine, New Hampshire, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont, West Virginia, and Washington, D.C. The program is administered by Northeast SARE's host institution, the University of Vermont.

Farming Community Grant Program

The Northeast SARE Farming Community Grant applies social science research and education projects that strengthen farming and food systems at the community level.

These projects explore innovative approaches to improving the health and sustainability of agricultural communities in the Northeast. This program supports projects that are grounded in community partnerships and informed by the lived experiences of farmers. It encourages collaboration among farmers, service providers, researchers, and nonprofit organizations to co-create solutions that are responsive to local needs and scalable across the region.

This program encourages innovative solutions to challenges in farming and food systems in the Northeast USA, including but not limited to the areas of: Marketing and business; Crop production; Raising livestock; Aquaculture; Economic and social sustainability; Ecological knowledge; Projects related to climate and/or bioenergy work that provide direct or indirect benefits to farmers,ranchers, and private foresters; and more.

Technical Assistance Program

Applicants and grantees of the Farming Community Grant Program are eligible for Technical Assistance (TA) provided by Northeast SARE’s Technical Assistance Providers.

Funding: This grant is reimbursement based; you must spend money to receive the grant funds.

Eligible organizations must be based in Delaware, have a stable board, and demonstrate a history of community service. Grants support annual operating expenses, allowing for year-round arts participation. A staggered three-year application cycle ensures ongoing support while minimizing the application burden. These grants foster artistic growth and community engagement in Delaware.

The Arts Stabilization Grants, offered by the Delaware Division of the Arts, support nonprofit organizations focused on the arts. These grants aim to fund maintenance, repairs, and renovations of facilities owned or leased by the organizations. Priority is given to projects that address structural deficiencies and enhance safety. Eligible applicants must be nonprofit arts organizations not affiliated with ArtCo. This program provides modest support for operating expenses and serves as an entry point for these organizations into the Division's General Operating Support grant program. New applicants are encouraged to contact the Division before submitting a Letter of Intent to ensure a smooth application process.

The Arts Access Grant by the Delaware Division of the Arts supports nonprofit organizations offering occasional arts programs. This grant aims to enhance public access to artistic experiences, foster collaborations between artists and community groups, and promote lifelong learning in the arts. Organizations eligible for funding must be based in Delaware and manage programs involving professional artists. The application process is ongoing, with reviews conducted starting in July each year.

The Community Based Organizations: Project Support Grant, offered by the Delaware Division of the Arts, aims to support arts initiatives led by non-profit organizations whose primary mission is not the arts. This grant encourages community engagement through artistic projects, allowing for diverse cultural expressions and collaboration among various groups. Eligible applicants include Delaware-based organizations with stable governance and the capacity to manage projects exceeding $5,000 in direct cash expenses.

The Community Based Organizations: Arts Access Grant, offered by the Delaware Division of the Arts, supports nonprofit organizations, schools, and government entities in presenting various art forms. Grants can cover up to 80% of eligible expenses, not exceeding $1,250. This initiative encourages community engagement through arts programs and is intended for groups that may not qualify for other funding categories. Applications must be submitted six weeks prior to the event, with early submissions recommended.

The Delaware Division of the Arts offers ongoing Artist Residency grants aimed at enhancing arts education in schools. These grants support residencies with professional artists who engage students and teachers in creative processes, aligning with state arts standards. Eligible applicants include Delaware public, charter, private, and parochial schools, as well as not-for-profits providing preschool services. Applicants can request up to 75% of artist fees, not exceeding $450 per day, to facilitate meaningful artistic experiences in educational settings.
