Mental Wellness Grants

Through this grant cycle, $75,000 is available to non-profit organizations serving White County with a focus on mental wellness initiatives. Awards to be announced 10/30/26.

Nonprofit organizations running established wellness, middle school education, or visual arts programs in Indiana and other eligible regions can apply for the Corinne R & Henry Bower Memorial Foundation’s invited grants, typically around Approximately US $8,300, to support year-round, direct-service programming. Funding is by committee invitation and favors measurable, sustainable programs serving community needs and underserved populations.

Grants from Cleveland Cliffs Foundation help Indiana 501(c)(3) nonprofits fund programs in education, environmental protection, and healthy, vibrant communities. Health and wellness organizations near Cleveland-Cliffs operations may be eligible for initiatives that promote healthy lifestyles, expand health care access, or improve community well-being and safety in local Indiana communities.

The SHAPE America: Joy of Effort Award recognizes dedicated individuals who exemplify the spirit of commitment and passion in health and physical education. Awardees are current SHAPE America members with at least three years of membership, demonstrating excellence in teaching, coaching, or leadership. This prestigious award celebrates those who have made significant contributions to the field, inspiring others to lead healthy, active lives through their efforts in education and advocacy.

The SHAPE America Major of the Year Award recognizes exemplary undergraduate students in health, physical education, recreation, and dance. This prestigious accolade aims to highlight nominees who demonstrate academic excellence and commitment to service within their communities. Faculty members from colleges and universities are encouraged to nominate one outstanding student per major, ensuring that the next generation of health educators is celebrated for their achievements and contributions to the field.

The Robert Glenn Rapp Foundation, established in 1951 in Oklahoma, aims to support charitable organizations across the U.S., with a focus on education and local initiatives. Grants are awarded to qualified 501(C)(3) organizations, prioritizing projects that align with the foundation's mission in areas such as education, health, arts, and literacy. Interested applicants must submit a Letter of Inquiry before applying for funding, ensuring alignment with the foundation's priorities.

The Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship, established by SHAPE America, honors outstanding graduate students in health and physical education. Awarded annually since 1995, it recognizes two graduate recipients based on academic excellence and leadership. Along with financial support, winners receive a three-year SHAPE America membership, enhancing their professional network. This scholarship underscores the organization's commitment to advancing health education and supporting future leaders in the field.

The Ruth Abernathy Presidential Scholarship is awarded annually by SHAPE America to honor outstanding undergraduate and graduate students in health and physical education. Established in 1995, this scholarship supports three undergraduate and two graduate recipients. Candidates must be SHAPE America members, majoring in relevant fields, and demonstrate academic excellence and leadership. The What’s Your Gap Grant, provided by BreatheStrong CF in partnership with the Closing the Gap Foundation, supports teens and adults living with cystic fibrosis. This grant alleviates financial barriers, allowing recipients to pursue health and wellness opportunities tailored to their individual goals. It aims to empower applicants who envision a healthier lifestyle but face challenges in achieving it, serving as a catalyst for positive change in their lives.

The Indigenous Tomorrows Fund (ITF) is a youth-led initiative by Native Americans in Philanthropy aimed at supporting Indigenous youth leadership and community-driven solutions. In its 2025 pilot year, ITF will award up to 24 grants of $30,000 each to projects that enhance cultural continuity and sustainable futures. Indiana health and wellness nonprofits focusing on STEM education, workforce readiness, human services, or mental health can access funding through the World Wide Technology Foundation’s Global Community Impact program. Eligible applicants are U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations whose programs advance career readiness, social justice, basic needs, or physical and mental health initiatives.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations focused on health and wellness in Indiana counties such as Allen County can seek project funding for programs that directly benefit local communities. Do it Best Foundation also supports youth enrichment, arts, and community development initiatives near its listed locations through four grant cycles each year.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations in Indiana working in health and well-being, education, human services, or environmental sustainability can seek funding to support community programs and services. Impact100 Southern Indiana funds programming, capital expenditures, and technical assistance that create significant, lasting improvements for under-served residents over one or two years.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) and 509(a) organizations offering health and wellness, family, education, culture, or environmental programs in the Tri-State area, including Indiana’s Dearborn County, can seek $100,000 from Impact 100. Funding supports capital, start-up, technology, or program expansion projects with defined goals and timelines over one to three years.

What We Fund

Applications for grants are accepted to address identified needs in Allen County, Indiana. This may be for a specific program or direct support of a vulnerable population. All requests should fit within one of the impact areas listed below.

• Prenatal & Infant Care: Funding to enable Pregnant women, new fathers, and infants to have access to free or low-cost quality care and resources for a healthy pregnancy, birth, and first year of life. (Learn More)

• Access to Quality, Affordable Healthcare: Funding to support lower income and uninsured residents to have access to free or low-cost, quality healthcare, enabling them to improve their health and hope for their future. (Learn More)

Grants of $5,000 or Less

Grants of $5,000 or less will be accepted from January 19 up to the October deadline indicated above.

The Native Hawaiian Health Care Improvement Act Program provides funding to enhance the health status of Native Hawaiians through comprehensive health care services. This initiative supports one administrative award to Papa Ola Lokahi and five awards to certified Native Hawaiian Health Care Systems. The program aims to ensure tailored health promotion and disease prevention services within island communities, addressing specific regional health needs from fiscal years 2027 to 2031.
