Virginia Davis Weber Scholarship

Virginia Ruth Davis Crew Weber was born in Winchester in 1909 to Earl C. and Mamie Davis. She graduated from Winchester High School with the Class of 1927, then attended the National College of Education in Evanston, IL, where she became certified as a teacher. Later she also attended Earlham College and Ball State University to earn her bachelor’s and master’s degrees. “Miss Virginia,” as she was known to her elementary students, taught in Wilmette, IL, Winchester, and Centerville before retiring in 1973. 

The Virginia Davis Weber scholarship is given to a senior planning to further their education.

Winchester Chapter #60 Order of Eastern Star (EOS) & Charles Burke Memorial

Awarded to a Randolph County student with a 3.0 G.P.A., and is a relative of a deceased chapter member.

The Brayman-Beach Scholarship, honoring leaders Susan J. Brayman and Carroll D. Beach, supports Colorado youth pursuing a bachelor's degree. It awards two scholarships of $5,000 annually, aimed at members of Colorado credit unions who demonstrate academic excellence and community involvement. Applicants must be at least 16 years old, U.S. citizens, and complete the FAFSA by March 1. This investment in education fosters the future of the credit union movement.

The Valley Foundation Grant aims to enhance the quality of life in Santa Clara County and beyond by supporting qualified 501(c)(3) organizations. Focused on educational, historical, and preservation initiatives, the Foundation provides essential funding to groups dedicated to societal improvement. By fostering partnerships with like-minded entities, The Valley Foundation strives to create lasting positive change through its grant-making efforts.

The Catalyst Adventure Grant, offered by the American Alpine Club, supports individuals and teams from underrepresented communities in climbing. Awards range from $250 to $2,000, aiming to overcome barriers to access. The grant promotes skill progression in various climbing disciplines, emphasizing community engagement. Eligible applicants include U.S. citizens or green card holders of all experience levels, with expeditions required to occur between June 15, 2025, and June 30, 2026.

The LACCW Resilience Scholarship Program, initiated by the Los Angeles County Commission for Women, supports women in overcoming personal and academic challenges. The James Captain Memorial Scholarship, established by Tim Anagnost in 2018 at the Coral Gables Community Foundation, provides summer camp tuition assistance to children in Coral Gables and Coconut Grove. The Ervin A. Gonzalez Scholarship, established by the Coral Gables Bar Association in memory of a distinguished civil trial attorney, provides financial assistance for college tuition to high school seniors aspiring to pursue law and related fields. Applicants must demonstrate academic success, a passion for civics, and financial need. Over the past decade, the Coral Gables Community Foundation has awarded more than $2.9 million in scholarships, emphasizing support for students committed to legal careers.

The Culinary Arts Scholarship, administered by the Coral Gables Community Foundation, supports graduating seniors from Coral Gables High School who are passionate about culinary arts. This two-year scholarship, valued between $1,000 and $5,000, emphasizes academic achievement and financial need. Recipients are required to enroll in a culinary or hospitality program in college and must renew the scholarship annually by submitting their academic grade report.

The Coral Gables Community Foundation Four-Year Scholarship supports students with a demonstrated academic record and commitment to community service. Established in 2015, this scholarship offers up to $10,000 over four years to eligible students attending Coral Gables Senior High School. Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and submit annual transcripts. The program emphasizes financial need and personal experiences, aiming to empower students pursuing higher education in accredited institutions.

Washington County Community Foundation

The Washington County Community Foundation seeks to improve the quality of life in Washington County by promoting and facilitating philanthropy. We accomplish this by assuming four philanthropic roles of Grantmaker, Donor Service Organization, Fundraiser, and Community Leader. Fostering philanthropy by offering charitable gifting opportunities to donors on an individualized basis and at reasonable fees, we make charitable giving easier, more satisfying, and more effective. 

The Foundation is a tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) not-for-profit corporation organized under the laws of Pennsylvania, which is registered with the Pennsylvania Charities Bureau and annually files the Federal Form 990.

Scholarships for Post-Secondary (Undergraduate) School

The Foundation provides both need-based and merit-based scholarships to students in Washington County, with a few scholarships also available to students in Greene County. All scholarships are made payable to the educational institution the student is attending. 

Carol L. Berthold Scholarship Fund for Dance

For a current year graduating senior who is pursuing a degree in dance at an accredited post-secondary educational institution and demonstrates both financial need and academic excellence. The award is renewable annually, provided the recipient remains enrolled in the dance program and in good academic standing (as defined by the institution).

The Alexander H. & Helen V. Smith Research Award, presented by the Mycological Society of America, supports research on macrofungi specimens collected by Alexander H. Smith. This award facilitates access to crucial collections at the University of Michigan Herbarium, aiding mycologists and students in advancing their studies. Recipients are encouraged to attend the MSA annual meeting to engage with the mycological community, enhancing collaboration and networking opportunities.

Angelica G. Muns Nursing Scholarship

The Community Foundation for Ocala Marion County is pleased to administer the Angelica G. Muns Nursing Scholarship.

Mrs. Muns, a United States Airforce Lt. Colonel, was a registered nurse who served during World War II. Her love of her service and her profession led to her desire to establish a nursing scholarship to ensure that those wanting to excel in the field of nursing had the opportunity to attend school to become an RN or BSN.

Mrs. Muns and her husband were provided excellent healthcare in Marion County and her scholarship is established for those students who plan on staying in Marion County and working at a Marion County acute healthcare facility.

Recipients must maintain a 3.0 GPA through the duration of nursing school. 

The Health-Surgical Care Fund Grant, provided by the Orange County Community Foundation, aims to support underfunded, volunteer-driven organizations offering surgical care for various physical or cosmetic deformities. The Fund prioritizes programs with a significant long-term impact, ensuring services are free to the community. Eligible organizations must demonstrate accountability, transparency, and a commitment to serving U.S. citizens, while allocating at least 70% of their budget to direct program expenses.

The Grant and Bridget Daugherty Nursing Scholarship, administered by the Coral Gables Community Foundation, offers financial assistance to Coral Gables High School seniors pursuing a Nursing major. The scholarship ranges from $1,000 to $5,000 for one academic year. Recipients must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and submit transcripts annually to retain funding. This initiative supports students committed to academic excellence and a career in healthcare.

Frances I. Woods Scholarship Fund

Frances Woods was born in Farmland, Indiana on March 21, 1926. She was a hard worker, simultaneously working while putting herself through all her schooling. At age 16, she started working at the Boston Store in Winchester. She graduated from Lincoln High School and attended Sinclair College, Ball State University, and IU East. Frances retired from Union Trust Bank after 25 years of service. She also worked in real estate for several years and enjoyed learning that business. In addition, she also helped manage and work the family farm. While she was responsible for the financial operating of the farm, there wasn’t a piece of farm equipment she didn’t know how to run. Frances was a charter member of Ad-a-Link Club, a group of graduates from Lincoln High School. She attended Peaceful Valley Friends Church in Lynn and was a member of the Peaceful Valley Ladies Aid.

Scholarship recipient must have demonstrated good character and citizenship, participated in extracurricular activities or community activities, and graduated with a 3.5 GPA or higher. 

This scholarship is renewable for four years as long as the student is enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited institution of higher education pursuing a bachelor’s degree, and student meets GPA requirements.

The Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin offers a robust college scholarship program, providing over $325,000 annually to students in Portage and Waushara counties. Scholarships, ranging from $500 to $40,000, are available for high school seniors, college students, and non-traditional learners. Selection criteria include financial need, community involvement, academic achievement, and extracurricular activities, ensuring support for a diverse range of educational pursuits.

The Dave Ragan Jr. Memorial Golf Scholarship, managed by the Coral Gables Community Foundation, offers financial support to graduating seniors with a passion for golf. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 3.0, demonstrate financial need, and intend to play golf at the collegiate level. This scholarship honors the legacy of Dave Ragan Jr. and aims to foster educational opportunities through sports. Over the years, the Foundation has awarded over $2.9 million in scholarships, emphasizing academic achievement and community engagement.

The Bill & Carol Rogacheski Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, provides financial support to students in Portage and Waushara counties. With scholarships ranging from $500 to $40,000, it aims to assist both traditional and non-traditional learners pursuing full-time undergraduate studies or technical education, particularly in medical fields or as first responders. Applicants must maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA and demonstrate financial need, along with active participation in extracurricular activities.

The Avis M. Wysocki Memorial Scholarship supports Central Wisconsin college students pursuing degrees in Nursing or as Physician’s Assistants. Sponsored by the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, this scholarship is available to those who have completed 25% of their coursework with a minimum GPA of 3.0. Special consideration is given to immediate family members of Wysocki Family of Companies employees, ensuring opportunities for deserving students. Award amounts range from $500 to $40,000 annually.

The Alton & Barbara McDonald Scholarship, provided by the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, offers financial support to students from Portage and Waushara counties. With awards ranging from $500 to $40,000, it is available to high school seniors and college students pursuing veterinary science at UW. Applicants must demonstrate a strong community service record, a minimum 3.0 GPA, and financial need, ensuring opportunities for deserving students in the region.

The AK Chen Memorial Scholarship Fund, administered by the Hawai‘i Community Foundation, provides financial assistance to students pursuing higher education in Hawaii. Eligible applicants must be residents of Hawaii, demonstrate financial need, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0. Preference is given to students from specific high schools and those majoring in STEM or education fields. Scholarships cover various educational expenses, ensuring support for students' academic journeys.

This competitive program seeks to encourage organizations to submit grant applications for educational activities focused on healthcare professionals involved in the management and care of people with migraine.

Individual projects requesting up to $200,000 will be considered. Maximum project length is 2 years.

The Dr. Gary Kielhofner Doctoral Research Scholarship in Occupational Therapy supports research initiatives that advance occupational therapy. It encourages doctoral candidates to explore social justice, human volition, and innovative intervention techniques. This scholarship, endowed by the American Occupational Therapy Foundation, honors Dr. Gary Kielhofner's legacy, fostering new research talent in the field. Eligible applicants must be enrolled in a doctoral program, have defended their dissertation proposal, and conduct research at a U.S. institution.

The STRIDE Mentored Research Scholarship (SMRS), offered by the American Occupational Therapy Foundation (AOTF), provides funding up to $10,000 for occupational therapy graduates and clinicians from underrepresented backgrounds to enhance their research representation. This scholarship supports participation in mentored research experiences at different institutions, focusing on building critical skills in research methods. By pairing awardees with experienced mentors, the program aims to foster diversity and inclusion within the occupational therapy field.
