Search Through Grants for Capital Funding in Florida

The Dunn Family Foundation Grant aims to enhance educational initiatives through innovative testing and support materials. The Florida Kiwanis Foundation was created in 1971 by Former Kiwanis Governor Robert Thal. Since 1971, Florida Kiwanis Foundation has been supporting Kiwanis Clubs, Divisions, and students make a real impact in the state of Florida.

Our Purpose: To leave a legacy for the children. We are dedicated to supporting Florida Youth to ensure a brighter future and leave a legacy for the children.

Mission: Help children in need. To enable caring individuals, clubs, and divisions to combine their resources of time, talent, and funds to create a greater impact on the needs of children and families in Florida.

Emergency Grants

The Emergency Grant program is new to the Foundation, established during the 2011-2012 administrative year but based on an older concept that was applied during the time of Hurricane Charley.

The Foundation contributes to the Emergency Fund each year and funds are also collected from private donations designated for “emergency fund” through the year.

In the case of an emergency disaster somewhere in the Florida District of Kiwanis, the Foundation President and the District Governor will meet to confirm the existence of an emergency disaster and then formally declare select areas of the District as a Disaster Area and that funds are available from the Florida Kiwanis Foundation.

Emergency Grant requests shall be sent by club letterhead to the Foundation Office. Maximum requests for funds shall be $2,000.00. Funds will be available until the existing fund is depleted.

The Emergency funds need not be matched by the club and do not need to be for capital improvements. Expenditures for food, clothing, temporary comfort, both physical and emotional are acceptable.

Mini Grants

The Mini Grant program is new and the concept was approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors during the 2011-2012 administrative year.

The Mini Grant program is less formal than the Matching Grant program and is on a first come first served basis until the funds are exhausted. The Foundation President will make a determination as to the acceptability of any Mini-Grant application, and if approved, funds will be processed immediately.

There is a simple one-page application form for the Mini Grant and the maximum request is $750.00. The amount does not need to be matched by the club nor does the request need to cover capital expenses.

The program was created for assistance to small clubs with little resources. Priority for these awards is given to the smaller clubs, of 35 members or less, with limited service budgets.

• Mini Grants should be used to assist a Kiwanis club within the Florida District of Kiwanis with a project that contributes to the achievement of the Objects of Kiwanis International, specifically, a project that enhances the lives of young children and youth in their community, in accordance with the mission of the Florida Kiwanis Foundation. 
• Mini Grants can be used to assist a Kiwanis club within the Florida District of Kiwanis with a project that supports Aktion Clubs, CKI Clubs, Key Clubs, K-Kids, and Builders (Service Leadership Programs).

SLP Mini-Grants

The purposes of a Service Leadership Programs Mini Grant is to award grants to support Aktion Clubs, Builders Club, Key Clubs, K-Kids Club, and Circle K Clubs or division service projects.

Grants are awarded to a Florida Aktion Club, Builders Club, Key Club, K-Kids Club, and Circle K Club or division by use of the official application form that is provided by division trustees or available on the Foundation website.

The SLP Mini Grant program is less formal than the Matching Grant program and is on a first come first served basis until the funds are exhausted.

Grants must be used to assist a Florida Service Leadership Program Club or Division projects. 

The Indian River Community Foundation offers discretionary grants focused on animal welfare, environment, and historic preservation. Nonprofits in Indian River County can apply for up to $50,000 for proven programs or $100,000 for capital projects. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations with updated GuideStar profiles. Grants are not available for political activities, religious institutions, or individuals. The application process begins with a Letter of Idea, reviewed monthly, with full applications invited based on compelling cases.

The Indian River Community Foundation offers discretionary grants aimed at supporting vulnerable individuals and families in Indian River County, Florida. Organizations can apply for funding in two categories: proven programs, with grants up to $50,000, and capital projects, with grants up to $100,000. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) charities, and priority will be given to those addressing community needs related to health, housing, education, and economic opportunity.

The Karpus Family Foundation Grants provide support to organizations focused on helping people and animals in need. With a commitment to education and community welfare, the foundation funds various initiatives, including assistance for disabled veterans, prevention of domestic abuse, and animal welfare. Organizations operating in the Greater Rochester area, Florida, and Cleveland are prioritized, and grants are awarded to 501(c)(3) entities that align with these goals. Applications are accepted year-round, with specific cycles for full proposals.

The McKeen Fund Grant is dedicated to enhancing the lives of vulnerable populations, including seniors and disadvantaged children and families. This private fund supports medical, educational, and social service programs, prioritizing initiatives that cannot secure outside funding. The Fund emphasizes grants for capital projects and specific programs aligned with its mission, while also engaging in direct charitable activities. Organizations eligible must be 501(c)(3) public charities, primarily in Florida, Massachusetts, and New York.

The Social Impact Fund - Nationwide Grant supports innovative solutions addressing health care access, food security, and economic empowerment. Funded by the American Heart Association, this grant prioritizes community-led projects from organizations with under $10M in revenue. Eligible entities include both for-profit and nonprofit organizations based in the U.S. and Puerto Rico. Grants can provide up to $250,000 to initiatives that demonstrate measurable impact, fostering sustainable change in health and wellness.

The Mayo Clinic Community Contributions Program in Florida aims to enhance community health through strategic partnerships and support for diverse, underserved populations. Focused on enhancing patient care, education, and community engagement, the program invites sponsorship requests for initiatives in human services, education, diversity, and cultural enrichment. By aligning with key health priorities such as access and mental health, Mayo Clinic strives to foster a welcoming and vibrant environment for all.

The Impact 100 SRQ Grant aims to empower women as philanthropists, offering a minimum of $100,000 for transformational local initiatives. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) public charities with at least 24 months of operation and a commitment to transparency regarding legal actions. Initiatives should be impactful, sustainable, and serve the Sarasota and Manatee communities, with detailed budgets and clear definitions of expansion if applicable. Grants exclude funding for debt reduction or political activities.

The Dunspaugh-Dalton Foundation Grant supports nonprofits focused on charitable, educational, and cultural initiatives primarily in Miami-Dade County, Florida, and Monterey County, California. New applicants must submit a Letter of Intent, while returning applicants can directly submit proposals. The foundation prioritizes projects with clearly defined outcomes in areas like arts, education, health care, and community services. Grants are typically awarded for one year, promoting impactful community improvements.

The Gladys Brooks Foundation supports innovative projects in libraries, education, hospitals, and clinics. Grants focus on resource endowments, capital construction, and equipment aimed at improving public access to information and educational resources. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations located in specific states and demonstrate that projects will be funded primarily by the grant. Applications for direct salary support or research projects are not accepted.

The Sarasota County Foundation, established in 1958, aims to facilitate charitable donations for various purposes within Sarasota County. It provides grants to organizations that support educational, cultural, health, and humanitarian initiatives. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) exempt, while the foundation typically does not fund endowments, travel, or completed projects. The foundation emphasizes support for local services, ensuring that its contributions enhance the community's welfare.

The Pérez CreARTE Grants, funded by the Jorge M. Pérez Family Foundation, aim to enhance South Florida's vibrant arts scene. With over $1.5 million available, the program supports Miami-Dade organizations focusing on arts access, education, and artist fellowships. Grants range from $100,000 to $250,000 over two years, prioritizing innovative proposals that promote arts equity and community engagement. Matching Grants

The Matching Grant Program requires a formal application from a Kiwanis club or a division from within the Florida District. The current maximum grant allowed is $10,000. This is to allow the greatest distribution of our limited funds. A club or division is only eligible for a grant every 5 years. The funds must be used for capital improvement. The club or division contribution to the project must equal or exceed that of the grant.

The Matching Grants applications are approved in two separate cycles. Cycle I cutoff is December 15 so that the Grant Committee has time to review the applications in time for the mid-winter board meeting (usually held in February). Cycle II cutoff date is June 15 so that the Grant Committee has time to review the applications in time for the DCON Board Meeting (usually in August).

Although it is not a requirement for a club to have contributed to the Foundation Annual Gift program, or have Foundation Sustaining Members on its roster, preference is given to those clubs and divisions that have shown a history of support for the Foundation.

Grants should be used to assist a Florida Kiwanis Club or Division with a project that contributes to the achievement of the Objects of Kiwanis International, specifically, a project that enhances the lives of young children and youth in their community, in accordance with the mission of the Florida Kiwanis Foundation.

The J. Bulow Campbell Foundation, established in 1940, focuses on grantmaking in Atlanta and Georgia, prioritizing capital projects in education, youth development, human services, public spaces, and cultural institutions. With a legacy of over $800 million awarded, the Foundation reflects the values of its founder, J. Bulow Campbell, emphasizing careful stewardship and Christian principles. While open to neighboring states, grants are generally restricted to tax-exempt institutions, excluding individuals and certain funding purposes.

The Margaret McCartney & R. Parks Williams Foundation, founded in 2001, focuses on supporting organizations for charitable, educational, and religious purposes, particularly in Florida. Funding priorities include vocational rehabilitation for individuals with disabilities, educational scholarships, health and comfort for the elderly, and prevention of cruelty to children. The Foundation does not fund capital improvements but emphasizes project support and general operating costs for eligible organizations.

The Mayo Clinic Community Contributions Program in Florida focuses on improving access to nutritious food. This grant supports registered 501(c)(3) organizations in northeast Florida, encouraging initiatives that align with community health needs. Eligible projects include health services, education, and youth enrichment, aiming to foster vibrant and sustainable communities. Organizations can apply for funding once per calendar year, with grants designed to enhance community engagement and address food insecurity.

The Sample Foundation provides grants to non-profit organizations focused on health and social welfare, particularly for underserved populations in Montana and Collier County, Florida. It primarily funds capital projects and equipment purchases, emphasizing initiatives that align with its mission. Organizations must be tax-exempt and located within the specified geographic areas to be eligible. The foundation does not support scholarships, operating budgets, or religious entities.

The Water Quality Improvement Grant, offered by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection, aims to enhance water quality by funding projects that address wastewater, stormwater, and agricultural nutrient sources. Eligible applicants include local governments and nonprofits, focusing on projects that improve water bodies not meeting nutrient standards. Priority is given to initiatives demonstrating significant nutrient reduction, project readiness, and cost-effectiveness. This grant supports vital environmental restoration efforts across Florida.

The Cultural and Artistic Facilities Capital Support grant provides essential funding for the development, renovation, and improvement of cultural and artistic facilities in Broward County, FL. With awards ranging from $25,000 to $500,000, this grant aims to support non-profit organizations and public entities dedicated to promoting the arts. Eligible projects include construction, expansion, and enhancement of facilities that facilitate cultural programming and public engagement.

The CFPBMC Summer Program Grant supports nonprofit organizations in Florida aiming to enhance community impact through strategic focus areas such as capacity building, economic opportunity, education and youth, and thriving communities. Grants of up to $75,000 are available for projects that align with these areas. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) tax-exempt. The grant process encourages innovative solutions to community challenges, fostering collaboration and sustainable development.

The CFPBMC Year-Round Grant supports nonprofit organizations in Palm Beach and Martin Counties. It encourages projects aligned with four focus areas: Capacity Building, Economic Opportunity, Education and Youth, and Thriving Communities. Grants can reach up to $75,000 and are awarded based on a competitive process. Interested organizations must submit a Letter of Inquiry and may be invited to submit a full proposal based on their alignment with the foundation's mission and strategic goals.
