Purpose of the Fund

This fund provides timely assistance to residents and nonprofits in Orange, Durham, Johnston, and Wake counties when a crisis interrupts everyday life. Grounded in our Invest–Convene–Amplify approach, it strengthens the region’s ability to respond quickly and ensures families and community partners get the help they need without delay. Because it is fueled entirely by donor support, every contribution goes directly to stabilizing neighbors and helping them move forward.

Individuals Experiencing Financial Hardship

Residents in any of the four counties can apply directly.

Eligible support may include housing stability, food access, transportation, or other essential needs created by a crisis.

Award Amount:

Up to $1,000 per approved application.



The Peter H. Brink Leadership Fund, supported by the National Trust for Historic Preservation, aims to enhance the capabilities of preservation organizations through mentoring and organizational development. Grants cover travel and mentor honoraria, fostering collaboration and peer-to-peer learning. Applications are accepted year-round on a rolling basis, prioritizing those who previously applied but did not receive funding. Eligible applicants include Forum members and nonprofit organizations, with a focus on innovative ideas for mentorship opportunities.

The VCA Education Impact Grants aim to enhance arts education across Virginia by funding hands-on programs and residencies that engage students and communities. Eligible applicants include Virginia schools and nonprofit organizations, with a focus on professional development for artists and educators. A 1:1 cash match is required for funding, ensuring that projects are sustainable and impactful. This initiative fosters creativity and collaboration, enriching the educational landscape in both traditional and non-traditional settings.

The Delta Dental of Colorado Foundation Grant aims to promote oral health equity by addressing the unique needs of diverse communities. Through funding initiatives focused on prevention, access to care, and workforce development, the foundation seeks to eliminate health disparities linked to race, income, and geography. By supporting programs that target root causes of oral health issues, the foundation is committed to fostering long-term change and ensuring that everyone has access to a healthy mouth.

Higher Education Coordinating Commission

The Higher Education Coordinating Commission (HECC) is a State of Oregon agency and Commission working to improve equitable access to and success in higher education and workforce training for Oregonians statewide. We coordinate funding and policy, and convene partners across the public and private higher education and workforce landscape. 

Oregon Opportunity Grant

The Oregon Opportunity Grant (OOG) is Oregon's largest state-funded, need-based grant program for college students. The grant provides funding to more than 30,000 Oregon resident students each year.

OOG is a need-based grant awarded to Oregon residents of all ages who are pursuing their first associates degree or bachelor's degree at an eligible public or private institution. Award amounts vary based on student's financial need and type of institution the student attends. There is not a separate application for the OOG. To be considered for the grant, students must submit their FAFSA or ORSAA as soon as possible each academic year. Awards are first-come, first-served until funds are depleted. 

Conditions of the Award

Oregon Opportunity Grants are available to qualified students for up to four years (12 quarters or 8 semesters) of full-time enrollment, provided they maintain satisfactory academic progress, continue to meet eligibility and award requirements, and file a new FAFSA or ORSAA each year.

The 4Culture Operating Support: Heritage Sustained Support Grant provides essential funding to heritage organizations in King County for two years. This grant aims to enhance public access to heritage programs, support diverse communities, and promote the preservation of local history. Eligible organizations can use funds for operational expenses, staffing, and community outreach initiatives, ensuring that all residents can benefit from cultural resources and programs.

The Ann B. Zekauskas Family Foundation is committed to supporting qualified 501(c)(3) organizations that align with our mission and values. We welcome grant requests from nonprofit organizations seeking to make a meaningful impact in their communities in the areas of nutritional education, food access, or the advancement of cuilnary arts careers. 

Special Giving Program

Throughout her life, Ann B. Zekauskas supported numerous nonprofits and charitable endeavors. She especially had a fondness for organizations that worked to rescue and rehome abandoned animals — and her house was always home to a dog, a cat, and, for a very long time, a set of parakeets. 

In honoring Ann’s complete legacy, each year our trustees contribute to select causes which are of special personal importance to them and fall beyond our three main areas of giving. These include supporting educational institutions; local community groups and projects; athletics programs; animal rescues; and more.

The 4Culture Equipment for Organizations grant provides funding of up to $15,000 to support the purchase and installation of essential equipment for arts, heritage, historic preservation, and science organizations in King County. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, public agencies, and fiscally sponsored groups. The funding can cover fixed assets like computers and machinery, with a minimum request of $1,000. Organizations should ensure their projects align with the grant criteria to qualify.

Adams County CO Community Enrichment Grants

The Community Enrichment Grant (CEG) is a competitive Adams County grant program that provides financial support to nonprofit organizations, school districts, and special districts to operate programs and services that improve the health, well-being, and self-sufficiency of underserved, marginalized, or vulnerable Adams County residents.

Grant funds must be used to directly serve Adams County residents, and funding requests must be based on the actual cost to deliver services through the proposed project.

The Community Enrichment Grant is a competitive funding opportunity, and demand typically exceeds available resources. In recent years, approximately 25% of submitted applications have been recommended for funding.

Funding priorities for the Community Enrichment Grant are established annually by the BoCC and may change from year to year based on community needs, available resources, and county priorities.

Tier 1: Safety Net & Basic Needs

Tier 1 supports projects that provide immediate, tangible assistance to help individuals and families meet essential day-to-day needs and promote stability. Eligible projects may include direct assistance such as transportation support, physical or behavioral health-related needs, emergency assistance, clothing, hygiene products, baby supplies, school necessities, and other basic household items.

The Arts Learning Grants program, offered by the Oregon Arts Commission, supports innovative projects that enhance K-12 arts education. It aims to create responsive learning opportunities, promote collaboration between artists and educators, and positively influence student achievement and attitudes. Priority funding is directed towards initiatives that serve rural and Title 1 schools, ensuring equitable access to quality arts education and fostering a vibrant cultural community.

Transportation Safety Grants

The Highway Safety Office (HSO), a division of the CDOT Office of Transportation Safety, administers behavioral programs designed to cultivate a safer driving culture in Colorado. Our primary goal is to reduce the frequency and severity of traffic crashes through data-driven outreach and education.

Our Mission

Reduce the incidence and severity of motor vehicle crashes and the associated human and economic loss.

Core Focus Areas

Our programs are strategically designed to address the most significant risks on our roadways. We prioritize intervention in the following areas:

High-Risk Driving Behaviors:

• Impaired Driving: Reducing DUI and DUID incidents through enforcement and awareness.
• Speeding: Encouraging safe travel speeds on all state roadways.
• Distracted Driving: Combatting the use of devices while behind the wheel.
• Seatbelt Survey: Using systematic field data to determine the actual percentage of drivers and passengers who buckle up.

Vulnerable Populations:

• Age-Specific Safety: Tailored resources for younger drivers and our aging population.
• Motorcyclist Safety: Enhancing rider skill development and increasing motorist awareness to reduce motorcycle-involved crashes.
• Pedestrians & Bicyclists: Improving visibility and infrastructure awareness for our most vulnerable non-motorized road users.
• Occupant Protection: Promoting the consistent and proper use of seatbelts and child safety restraints.

State Historical Fund: Survey Plan Grants

Survey plan grants create a comprehensive document to help communities assess the current state of their survey documentation and make informed decisions regarding future architectural survey projects. This planning document is strictly related to survey and does not cover topics generally included in a larger historic preservation plan. Survey plans are often developed for entire municipalities, communities, or neighborhoods, however, they are not intended for single properties.

The survey plan evaluates previous survey work, identifies appropriate historic contexts, identifies current survey needs, and prioritizes recommendations for future survey projects. Survey plan grants require completion of a limited reconnaissance survey and incorporate public involvement to introduce the project and share results.

Survey plans should be completed by consultants that are experienced and familiar with survey and planning projects. The selected consultant should be knowledgeable in applying the Secretary of Interior's Standards for Identification and Evaluation.

The 4Culture Landmarks Capital Grants program supports the preservation of historic buildings and landscapes in King County. By funding projects that enhance community visibility, accessibility, and economic impact, this program fosters a stronger regional identity. Eligible applicants include individuals, businesses, and local governments owning designated historic properties. Grants of up to $30,000 can be used for restoration efforts, emphasizing sustainable practices and public benefit. Projects addressing urgent preservation needs are prioritized, particularly from historically marginalized communities.

Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development

Opportunity Scholarship Tax Credit Program (OSTC) : Organizations

Introduction and Purpose

Tax credits may be awarded to business firms that make contributions to Opportunity Scholarship Organizations contained on a list published by the Department. The current organizational list can be found on DCED’s website at dced.pa.gov/OSTC.

A business firm may receive a tax credit equal to 75% of its contribution to an approved Opportunity Scholarship Organization that is included on the current list published by the Department, up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year. The tax credit may be increased to 90% of the contribution made, up to a maximum of $750,000 per taxable year, if the business firm agrees to provide the same amount of contribution to an organization for two consecutive years.

The purpose of these guidelines is to establish the process whereby an Opportunity Scholarship Organization may be included on the list of organizations approved and published by the Department.

Initial Application

For Opportunity Scholarship Organizations completed applications will be reviewed by the Department and the applicant will be notified within 60 days from date of receipt whether or not the application has met the requirements of the Article and guidelines. If the Department determines that the application meets the requirements, the applicant's name will be included on the Department's list of approved Opportunity Scholarship Organizations for the fiscal year in which the application was received. 

Renewal Applications

For each state fiscal year (July 1 through June 30) following the fiscal year in which an Opportunity Scholarship Organization has been initially included on the Department’s list of approved Opportunity Scholarship Organizations, the organization may submit a renewal application to the Department to ensure that the organization continues to be included on the Department’s approved list. A renewal application may be submitted to the Department anytime on or after November 1.

The 4Culture Heritage Projects Grant Program supports initiatives that make history relevant through exhibits, publications, and oral histories in King County, WA. Grants range from $2,000 to $15,000, funding projects that enhance public access to heritage resources and promote collaborations among diverse communities. The program seeks to broaden historical narratives, focusing on racial equity and inclusion, while ensuring projects benefit underrepresented populations and provide accessible educational opportunities.

The Folklife Community Grant, offered by the Nevada Arts Council, supports small community organizations in presenting folk arts and traditions. Eligible projects include festivals, concerts, and gatherings that engage traditional artists and cultural specialists. The grant aims to strengthen cultural communities in Nevada by fostering artistic expression and collaboration, ensuring that folk arts continue to thrive and contribute to the state's cultural vibrancy and economic vitality.

The 4Culture Preservation Special Projects grant supports initiatives that promote the preservation of historic places in King County, Washington. It funds research, documentation, education, and advocacy efforts, enhancing public awareness and accessibility to historic sites. Open to individuals and organizations, this grant emphasizes quality, public benefit, equity, and feasibility in project proposals. Applicants are encouraged to demonstrate how their projects contribute to the long-term stewardship of important historic resources.

The Mark W. Schwiebert Fund for Environmental Studies, established in 2016, supports educational programs and research addressing climate change and resource depletion. It emphasizes projects that are financially and technically feasible, with a focus on public education and impactful returns on investment. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, universities, and governmental entities, particularly those serving Rock Island County, Illinois, and Scott County, Iowa. Funding is not available for marketing campaigns, deficit funding, or projects already completed.

The Alabama State Council on the Arts Literary - Project Grant aims to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality in Alabama by supporting diverse artistic resources. This grant encourages a wide range of projects, including festivals, performances, and exhibitions, fostering public engagement with the arts. It promotes excellence in arts education, recognizes folk traditions, and supports economic development through the arts, ensuring that all Alabamians can experience and appreciate artistic expressions.

The Alabama State Council on the Arts offers the Folklife - Consolidated Project Grant to enhance the quality of life for Alabamians through diverse artistic support. This grant funds cohesive activities, including performance seasons, workshops, and exhibitions, promoting excellence in the arts. It aims to preserve folk art traditions, increase public engagement with the arts, and recognize their role in economic vitality, ultimately enriching Alabama's cultural landscape.

The Alabama State Council on the Arts Literary Grant - Consolidated Project aims to enhance the quality of life and economic vitality for Alabamians by supporting diverse artistic resources. It funds cohesive activities like performance seasons, workshops, and exhibitions, promoting arts education and cultural appreciation. This grant fosters excellence in the arts, providing opportunities for all citizens to engage with and appreciate the rich artistic heritage of Alabama.

WV Culture: Arts in Education - Mini-Grants

What is an Arts in Education Mini-Grant? The Arts in Education Mini-Grant program is a funding opportunity of the West Virginia Commission on the Arts (WVCA) providing direct support to projects that present West Virginia artists in performances, workshops, and other arts education experiences serving PK-12 students.

The WV Culture: Professional Development for Artists grant offers up to $5,000 to support professional and emerging artists in expanding their work or sharing their expertise. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations, public educational institutions, and arts programs that serve the broader community in West Virginia. Organizations must meet specific tax-exempt criteria and demonstrate the capacity for matching funds to qualify for this grant, promoting community engagement through the arts.

Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office

2026-27 Historic Preservation Fund Grants

The Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office (LASHPO) is composed of the Division of Archaeology and the Division of Historic Preservation as components of the Office of Cultural Development, Division of Culture, Recreation, and Tourism. The Office of Cultural Development serves the citizens of Louisiana by preserving, supporting, developing, and promoting Louisiana culture, including archaeology, arts, French language, and historic resources.

Each year the State Historic Preservation Office distributes an allocation of federal funds for projects through a competitive grant process. These historic preservation funds are provided by the National Park Service, U.S. Department of the Interior. Grant awards are generally between $3,000 and $80,000. The grant performance period is from October 1, 2026, to September 15, 2027. Funding is contingent upon the LA SHPO annual award from the National Park Service Historic Preservation Fund and State General Fund appropriations.

FY 26-27 National Park Service Historic Preservation Fund

Each year, Lieutenant Governor Billy Nungesser and the Division of Historic Preservation (DHP) and Archaeology distribute an allocation of federal funds for historic preservation projects through a competitive grants process. These funds are allocated to the Louisiana State Historic Preservation Office (LASHPO) by the U. S. Department of the Interior's National Park Service, Historic Preservation Fund (HPF). The focus of the grant proposals should be related to ongoing state and federally mandated programs and initiatives that are outlined in the Louisiana Comprehensive Plan.

The Arkansas Historic Marker Program Grants, initiated by the Division of Arkansas Heritage in 2017, aim to preserve and promote Arkansas's cultural and historic resources. By commemorating significant people, places, and events, the program fosters community engagement and educates the public about local history. Markers serve as lasting tributes to Arkansas's heritage, with a focus on both statewide and local histories, ensuring that the state's rich narrative is acknowledged and celebrated.

The Historic Preservation Restoration Grant, provided by the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program, supports the restoration of properties listed on the Arkansas Register of Historic Places and cemeteries on the National Register. Grants range from $5,000 to $10,000, requiring a cash match for funding. The program emphasizes maintaining historical integrity and promotes community engagement through revitalization efforts, ensuring that Arkansas's cultural heritage is preserved for future generations.

The University of Tulsa/Cherokee Nation Foundation Scholarship aims to support Cherokee Nation citizens pursuing higher education. Eligible applicants include undergraduate students and graduating high school seniors accepted to the University of Tulsa. This renewable scholarship lasts up to five years, contingent on maintaining a 3.0 GPA and good standing. A letter of reference is also required for consideration, reinforcing the foundation's commitment to fostering educational opportunities and reducing student debt among Cherokee students.
