Hill Machinery Scholarship

Open to undergraduate students attending a college in the state of Michigan who are studying technology-related fields with a minimum 2.5 GPA. Preference to Challenge Scholar students through 2032.

About the DNR

Preserving and enhancing the natural resources of Wisconsin

In keeping with our mission, the DNR is dedicated to working with Wisconsinites while preserving and enhancing the natural resources of Wisconsin. In partnership with individuals and organizations, DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor opportunities.

Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) Program

This is a federal program administered in all states that encourages the creation and interpretation of high-quality outdoor recreational opportunities. Funds received by the DNR for this program are split between DNR projects and grants to local governments for outdoor recreation activities. Grants cover up to 50% of eligible project costs. LWCF grants provide local units of governments, tribes, and school districts opportunities to receive grants for outdoor recreation activities. Payment of grant funds is on a reimbursement basis.

Public access is fundamental to this grant program. Reasonable public access is required for any property purchased or developed with grant funds. The DNR can help determine what constitutes appropriate and reasonable public access for grant-funded properties. 

The Mutual Self-Help Housing Technical Assistance Grants in Iowa provide funding to qualified organizations for local self-help housing construction projects. These grants enable low-income families to build their own homes with technical assistance and supervision, fostering community involvement and skill development. Eligible applicants include government non-profit organizations and federally recognized tribes. Hackett Family Scholarship

Open to students of color who identify as female, are graduates of any Grand Rapids Public Schools, Grandville, Godfrey Lee, Godwin, Kelloggsville, East Kentwood, or Wyoming high schools, with a minimum 2.0 GPA and who will enroll full time.

State Development Grant

State Development Grant Program is for brick-and-mortar preservation projects. Properties must be individually listed on or a contributing property in a historic district or/and archaeological development of a site listed on the National Register of Historic Places to be eligible for this funding. The funding source for this grant program is appropriated by the WV Legislature, through Lottery Funds.

Funding is given to projects related to at least one of the following work categories:

• Work to sustain the existing form, integrity, and materials of a historic property.
• Measures to defend or guard the physical condition of a property from deterioration, loss or attack, or to cover or shield the site from further danger or injury.
• Repair and alteration of a property that make it compatible for modern use, while also preserving the features that convey its historical, cultural, and architectural value. This also includes work necessary to facilitate putting the building to an appropriate use, including meeting all codes and accessibility standards.
• Work that accurately depicts the form, features, and character of a property as it appeared at a particular period of time.
• Measures to reestablish the physical stability of a deteriorated historic property

Matching Requirement

Development Grants require a match budgeted on one-to-one (50/50) basis. Matching funds may include in-kind contributions but at least half of the sponsor’s matching funds must be cash. Only non-federal monies may be used as sources of cash. Grants are paid as reimbursement, so all grant expenditures and match resources must be expended for services completed (and approved) during the project period. 

The Medallion Fund Scholarship program provides financial assistance to New Hampshire students pursuing vocational or technical education in fields like automotive technology, plumbing, and nursing. Funded by generous donors, this scholarship supports individuals seeking industry-recognized credentials through various educational pathways including certificates and degrees. Preference is given to applicants from traditional manufacturing trades and those with limited educational opportunities. Award notifications are sent within six weeks of application submission.

The Building Opportunities for Lasting Development (BOLD) Grant Program, initiated by the City of Birmingham’s Department of Innovation and Economic Opportunity, invites innovative proposals for enhancing economic development. With a focus on fostering resilience and mobility, the program aims to support women-, minority-, and disadvantaged-owned businesses. Now entering its seventh year, BOLD seeks to collaborate with community organizations to cultivate an inclusive and thriving economic landscape in Birmingham.

Jack Family Scholarship

Open to students who are residents of Kent County. Preference to Challenge Scholar students through 2032.

The Georgia Land and Water Conservation Fund Grant supports local governments in acquiring lands and developing outdoor recreation facilities. Established in 1965, it has allocated over $120 million to Georgia, with annual funding expected to reach $5-7 million. The grant requires a dollar-for-dollar match and has a bi-annual cycle, offering approximately $12 million for the 2024-2025 period. Eligible applicants include qualified local governments and recreation authorities in good standing.

The National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) is currently on a strategic pause regarding grant proposals until fall 2025. NAEF is committed to enhancing visual arts education through innovative initiatives that support instructional practices, research, and leadership. By promoting professional development and advocating for the inclusion of visual arts in curricula, NAEF aims to enrich the educational landscape for art educators and students alike.

The Doug Parker Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation of Howard County, provides $2,500 to a deserving senior high school student in Howard County who demonstrates commitment to community service, academics, and sportsmanship. Applicants must maintain an unweighted GPA of 3.0 or higher and plan to attend a college or trade school. This scholarship supports students who exemplify the values of dedication and excellence, helping them achieve their educational goals.

The Medical Student Education Program (MSE) supports public medical schools in states facing primary care provider shortages, aiming to enhance medical education for future physicians. Eligible states include those in the top quartile projected to face shortages by 2038. Currently, 12 states such as Alabama and Texas are recognized, with 23 public medical schools identified as potential beneficiaries. Note that current MSE grantees are ineligible for the 2026 funding cycle.
