The Civic Engagement Mini-Grants program, funded by the Community Foundation of Eastern Connecticut, supports initiatives aimed at fostering inclusive civic participation. Grants of up to $1,000 are available for 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, and governmental agencies serving 42 communities in Eastern Connecticut. While fulfilling our unique and longstanding place serving Texas government, the State Library and Archives Commission mission is also to ensure that citizens have information they need to lead informed, productive, and fulfilled lives.

TexTreasures Grant

TexTreasures Grants are designed to help libraries make their special collections more accessible for the people of Texas and beyond. Activities considered for possible funding include: 

• digitization
• microfilming
• cataloging

There are two options for funding under the TexTreasures program:

• TexTreasures Basic which will award grants of up to $10,000 to small libraries (serving a population of up to 25,000) with little or no experience with digitization. Funding will support vendor contract services to increase access to collections with local or regional significance. 
• TexTreasures Original which will continue to support libraries seeking to provide access to special or unique collections of statewide interest and greater complexity. The maximum award is $40,000 for applications from single institutions and $50,000 for collaborative grant projects.

The Benjamin P. Duke Memorial Endowment Fund Grants, offered by the Carlsbad Community Foundation, aim to enhance the well-being of animals, both domestic and wild, within South Eddy County, New Mexico. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations that serve this region, which encompasses Carlsbad and nearby areas. The foundation prioritizes projects solely focused on animal welfare, ensuring that funds are directed effectively to promote meaningful change.

Mary's Pence Grants provide essential funding and support for women's social justice organizations in the U.S. and Canada. Established over 30 years ago, the program is dedicated to empowering women on the margins by funding grassroots initiatives that focus on community-centered, sustainable change. Organizations with budgets under $200,000 are eligible to apply for grants up to $5,000, fostering relationships and collaborative efforts to address systemic issues and promote social justice.

The Early Career Postdoctoral-Faculty Bridge Grant, offered by the American Chemical Society, supports postdoctoral fellows or new faculty members in their first 9 months as they establish independent research careers in green and sustainable chemistry. This grant provides funding for up to two years, covering salary, benefits, and travel expenses for a postdoctoral associate. The program aims to foster mentorship and training, ensuring a strong foundation for future academic success.

The Senior Chemists Mini Grant for Local Sections, offered by the American Chemical Society, is designed to support local events that engage senior members in innovative activities. Grants are available on a first-come, first-serve basis, and funding can be used for various events including recognition luncheons, mentoring for undergraduates, collaborative activities with younger chemists, and community support events such as science fairs.

Ability Central's Community Impact Grants in California aim to enhance communication and information access for Deaf, disabled, and neurodivergent individuals. Focused on community-driven projects, these grants support initiatives that address critical access needs, promote meaningful inclusion, and leverage existing resources. By funding communication access programs and services, the grants help remove barriers, ensuring equitable participation in community life across the state, thereby fostering a more inclusive society.

The Plant, Learn and Grow! School Gardening 201 program, offered by The City Garden Clubs of New York, equips classroom teachers with practical strategies to enhance student learning through garden projects. Participants will explore hands-on gardening techniques and important topics such as pest management and soil quality. This scholarship covers course fees, ensuring that educators can integrate gardening into their curriculum effectively. Join this initiative to foster environmental awareness and enrich educational experiences.

The Eastern Bank Foundation's CITC Grants support community development organizations with a 501(c)(3) IRS designation, focusing on addressing local needs in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Rhode Island. It provides $30,000 in stipend support per year, conditional upon the awardee's ongoing university enrollment. This fellowship seeks to foster a new generation of researchers dedicated to improving health outcomes through rigorous scientific inquiry.

The Rosenberg Fund for Children supports the educational and emotional needs of children and youth up to age 24 who are linked to targeted progressive activists. Grants can cover tuition, counseling, and other essential services to help beneficiaries thrive despite the challenges faced by their families. The fund emphasizes direct support to programs and providers, ensuring that assistance reaches those most affected by activism-related adversities.

The Avista Foundation provides vital funding to non-profit organizations focused on education, vulnerable populations, and cultural vitality in its service areas across the Pacific Northwest. This cycle specifically invites proposals for arts and culture initiatives. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) entities or civic groups located within Avista's service area. The foundation aims to enhance community well-being and support creative endeavors that enrich local culture.

 Virtual and Hybrid Program Accelerator ESC Grant

The Virtual and Hybrid Program Accelerator (VHPA) enables school districts and open-enrollment school systems to design and launch high-quality virtual and hybrid programs or campuses, as defined under Texas Education Code (TEC) Chapter 30B.

The Virtual and Hybrid Program Accelerator (VHPA) enables school districts and open-enrollment school systems to design and launch high-quality virtual and hybrid programs or campuses, as defined under Texas Education Code (TEC) Chapter 30B. The goal of the program is to establish schools that are intentionally structured to achieve A or B accountability ratings and deliver rigorous, engaging instruction tailored to meet the diverse needs of students across Texas. Through VHPA, school systems will receive funding and technical assistance (TA) to develop flexible, personalized learning models that support students requiring adaptable education pathways. The program also enables school systems to implement innovative staffing strategies, expand course offerings, and increase access to high-quality instruction statewide. VHPA is a two-year program. By the end of the first year, participating school districts and open-enrollment school systems must either launch a full-time virtual or hybrid program or apply for authorization to operate a full-time virtual or hybrid campus that will operate in the 2027– 2028 school year. School systems that meet all engagement and activity requirements in Year 1, may use this participation to satisfy the planning year requirement for virtual and hybrid campuses outlined in Senate Bill 569. 

Grant activities include providing technical assistance to refine high-quality virtual or hybrid learning experiences that equip students for college, career, or the military. Support includes establishing highly effective virtual and hybrid classes, aligning staffing models with professional development for virtual teaching/learning, and enabling strong decision-making on technology and operations systems (e.g., learning management system, attendance). School systems in the program will also use iterative practices to analyze data to ensure that all students can access high-quality, grade-level instruction and engage in cohort-style workshops to learn about best practices from school systems across Texas.

The PLTW Computer Science grant supports public and charter schools in Georgia to implement PLTW Computer Science programs. Schools in designated counties can apply for a total of $20,000, distributed over two years, to fund essential course materials and training. Grantees must offer at least two different courses within the 2026-2028 academic years, enhancing education in technology and programming for students. This initiative aims to foster STEM learning and prepare students for future careers.

The Women Chemists Committee + Eli Lilly Travel Award supports female chemists at undergraduate, graduate, and postdoctoral levels, enabling them to attend meetings and present their research. This initiative aims to enhance women's participation in the chemical sciences. Awards are based on scientific merit and financial need, covering registration, travel, and accommodations for U.S.-based meetings. The Governor’s Awards in the Arts, coordinated by the Kentucky Arts Council, celebrate outstanding contributions to the arts by individuals and organizations in Kentucky. This prestigious program honors exemplary achievements through six distinct award categories. Each year, the Council recognizes artists, educators, and community advocates who have made a significant impact, fostering arts advocacy and cultural growth throughout the state. Applicants are encouraged to embody the core values of the Kentucky Arts Council in their submissions.

The Kentucky Peer Advisory Network (KPAN) provides vital arts-related consultancy to organizations and individual artists in Kentucky. It offers expert guidance on board development, grant writing, marketing, and strategic planning at a nominal cost. Open to all arts organizations and Kentucky residents, KPAN aims to enhance community engagement through the arts and supports professional development for artists in various Kentucky Arts Council programs.

The Akron Community Foundation offers Community Fund Grants focused on Arts & Culture, aimed at enriching the community's quality of life. These grants support diverse artistic and cultural initiatives that foster inclusiveness and systemic change in Summit County. Eligible applicants include approved 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to addressing community needs through effective and sustainable programs. However, grants do not cover endowments, scholarships, or direct financial support to individuals.

The John T. & Elizabeth C. Adams Arts Fund Grant, established by the Duluth Superior Area Community Foundation, aims to enhance artistic quality in the Duluth-Superior area. It supports programs that enrich performances and artistic services, promoting cultural growth. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and governmental entities in the region, which encompasses parts of Wisconsin and Minnesota, as well as specific tribal nations. The fund is committed to fostering community through the arts.

The Orange County Venue Subsidy Grant for Arts and Culture, facilitated by United Arts of Central Florida, aims to support 501(c)(3) nonprofits in presenting cultural programming at accessible venues in Orange County. This program covers up to 50% of venue rental costs, allowing organizations to elevate the production value of their exhibitions or performances. Priority is given to those serving underserved and diverse communities, enhancing the cultural landscape of the region.

The Building for Equity: Capacity Building Grants support organizations in enhancing their long-term facility needs with funding up to $25,000. This initiative prioritizes projects that aid in advocating, planning, and constructing spaces for cultural programming, particularly for underserved communities in King County. Through a competitive evaluation process, grants aim to foster sustainability and community benefit, emphasizing cultural equity and access across the region.

The Garden Grant Program by Whole Kids Foundation offers $3,000 to schools and non-profits to create or enhance edible educational gardens. This initiative connects children with food, fostering curiosity and healthy eating habits. Eligible applicants include K-12 schools and organizations that regularly engage at least ten children in gardening activities. The American Society for Eighteenth-Century Studies (ASECS) Fellowship at The Newberry Library supports scholars investigating the period from 1660 to 1815. This short-term fellowship allows researchers to utilize the library's extensive collections for one to two months, with a stipend of $3,000 per month. Open to faculty, postdoctoral scholars, and ABD PhD candidates, it encourages international participation and aims to foster scholarly engagement with the rich historical resources available.

The John S. Aubrey Fellowship at The Newberry Library supports scholars with a demonstrated need for the library's collection. This short-term fellowship is available for one month, offering a stipend of $3,000 per month. It is open to scholars at various stages, including ABD candidates and those with terminal degrees. The Newberry Library, founded in 1887, serves as a vital cultural institution in Chicago, providing access to extensive historical resources.

The Newberry: Fellows' Fellowships offer scholars the opportunity to engage with the Newberry's extensive collections for one to two months. Designed for researchers at various stages, including ABD candidates, these fellowships support those with specific research needs. With a stipend of $3,000 per month, the program is open to scholars from any field and nationality, fostering a diverse community of learners and advancing scholarship in historical and cultural studies.
