Unsewered Communities Planning Grant Program (UCPGP)

The Unsewered Communities Planning Grant Program (UCPGP) will utilize a portion of the Illinois EPA Water Pollution Control Loan Program Loan Support funds generated from loan repayments. Illinois EPA expects to award a total of $1,000,000 and anticipates distributing this amount across thirty-three (33) to fifty (50) awards. Funding will be limited to a maximum of $30,000 per applicant.

Kansas Association of Independent Crop Consultants Scholarship Fund

The Kansas Association of Independent Crop Consultants created this scholarship fund to award to a qualified individual majoring in an agricultural field.

The IDNR State Pheasant Funding aims to enhance pheasant wildlife habitat in Illinois. Grantees must register with the State of Illinois and complete a prequalification process. This competitive grant encourages organized groups of volunteers from non-profits and governmental entities to develop and submit projects for funding. Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley

The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley is a collection of individual funds and resources given by local citizens to enhance and support the quality of life in the Fox River Valley of Illinois.

We are a tax-exempt public charity that allows individuals, businesses, and non-profit organizations to establish permanent endowments and temporary funds within the confines of one large foundation.

Foundation funds are used to provide grants to non-profit organizations and scholarships to area students. The Foundation also hosts a Youth Engagement in Philanthropy (YEP) program, which helps high school students learn more about philanthropy and empowers them to make a difference in the community.

The Community Foundation of the Fox River Valley serves the City of Aurora, Kane County, and Kendall County within the State of Illinois.

Scholarship Program

Scholarships are available to local students who will attend an accredited post-secondary institution within the United States of America on a full-time basis.

Albert M. Zari Scholarship Fund

The Albert M. Zari Scholarship Fund was established by the Albert M. Zari Foundation to provide scholarships to students who are pursuing an undergraduate degree from a college or university in accounting, aeronautics/aerospace science, agriculture, business, communications, computer science, electronics, engineering, finance, information systems, medicine, or pharmacy.

Students continuing their studies in trade schools are also eligible for these scholarships.

Eligibility is reserved for students graduating from public high schools located within the following Illinois School Districts: Batavia, Geneva, St. Charles, Oswego, Sycamore, DeKalb, Kaneland, Yorkville or Plano.

Albert M. Zari directed that these scholarships be created from his estate to reflect his belief in the power of education.

With an eighth grade education, and after completing an electricians’ apprenticeship program, Mr. Zari became a successful businessman.

He was the founder of A.M. Zari Construction Company and was very proud of the work that his company did on the runways at O’Hare Airport.

Mr. Zari spent his free time as a woodworker at his home in St. Charles, Illinois producing exquisite works of art.

A native of Chicago, he was the son of Peter and Delfina Zari and husband to Carole.

Mr. Zari served his country in the Navy in World War II. He passed away on February 2, 2014 at the age of 94.

The Christopher Family Foundation offers grants to nonprofit organizations focused on employment, entrepreneurship, and food security, primarily in Chicago's Austin neighborhood. They aim to support pathways to family-sustaining wages, foster local entrepreneurship, and enhance food access. Eligibility includes organizations that demonstrate excellence, collaborative learning, and a commitment to the community. The foundation prefers programmatic support and does not fund individuals, governmental entities, or housing services. Overall, CFF seeks to empower the community and improve quality of life.

The Joyce Foundation's Journalism Grants support independent, nonpartisan reporting to address critical issues in the Great Lakes region. By investing in high-quality journalism, the Foundation aims to promote informed decision-making and strengthen community cohesion. Eligible applicants include nonprofit journalism organizations and projects that enhance local news and support early career journalists, particularly those from diverse backgrounds. The application process requires advance planning, with funding decisions made quarterly.

The Cemetery Relief Grant, offered by the Illinois Department of Financial and Professional Regulation, aims to assist local government units and nonprofit organizations in cleaning up abandoned and neglected cemeteries. Applicants must meet specific eligibility criteria, including valid registrations and good standing with state authorities. The funds are strictly designated for cleanup purposes, and grants are not renewable, requiring reapplication for continued assistance.

Communities of Color Special At Risk Population 

The initiative is funded through State of Illinois general revenue funding, and funds HIV prevention, education, testing, and care programs targeting communities of color - specifically programs with the capacity to reach special at risk minority populations to include, but not limited to, men who have sex with men, people experiencing homeless, ex-offenders, sex workers, those with a history of mental illness or substance abuse, and other difficult to reach populations. These specific efforts are necessary due to the unique problems that many of these individuals may face that places them at greater risk for HIV disease.

Objective

This funding should aim to reduce health disparities and health inequities where they exist. Health equity exists when all people have the opportunity to thrive and no one is limited in achieving comprehensive health and wellness because of their social position or any other social factors/determinants of health such as income, education, race/ethnicity, sexual identity, and disability.

The Water and Waste Facility Loans and Grants program aims to provide safe drinking water and waste disposal services to low-income communities on Tribal lands, addressing significant health risks. Eligible applicants include federally-recognized Tribes, state and local governments, and nonprofit organizations. Funding can be used for constructing essential water and waste systems, and while matching funds are typically required, a full grant is possible under certain conditions. Applications are accepted year-round.

The Illinois Community College Board is launching the Advancing Developmental Education Reform Project, offering grants of up to $50,000 to support community colleges in enhancing faculty capacity and scaling evidence-based models. Eligible colleges are encouraged to focus on data capacity, faculty development, and scaling successful reforms to improve student outcomes in developmental education. This initiative aims to foster continuous improvement and innovative practices in educational settings across Illinois.
