Gerstbrein/McCanna Scholarship for the Arts

After a long and rewarding career in Landscape Design and Art Education, Lisa Gerstbrein/McCanna wanted to promote the Arts and Industrial Arts in the community where she made her home and her livelihood. Her career brought her tremendous joy in pursuits that she loved as well as the satisfying reward of helping students find inspiration in the worlds of Art and Industrial Art. She is a true believer in the concept of STEAM based education. Accordingly, she established a fund to provide scholarships for the advanced education of advancing Senior High School Students in these areas who are residents of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania and are pursuing higher education in an approved program within 300 miles of their respective school - Armstrong High School, West Shamokin High School or Lenape Technical School.

Kentucky Department of Tourism

The Kentucky Department of Tourism is an agency within the Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet, which promotes the Commonwealth as a travel destination

The Kentucky Tourism, Arts and Heritage Cabinet (TAH) is dedicated to making Kentucky a welcoming place for everyone to visit, with a focus on tourism, the arts and sharing the commonwealth's unique heritage.​ TAH serves as Kentucky's top tourism agency, and collaborates with local tourism partners to coordinate tourism, arts and heritage efforts through legislation, tourism development and marketing outreach.

Regional Marketing and Matching Funds Program

The Matching Funds Program provides local non-profit tourism organizations with financial assistance to promote tourism in their areas. The program is administered by KDT staff in accordance with 300 KAR 1:010, Regional Marketing and Matching Funds Program.

The Queer Mobilization Fund (QMF) supports community-led projects that advance Queer and Trans liberation, particularly for BIPOC individuals in the Southeastern US. Established in 2016, QMF prioritizes grassroots organizations with budgets under $300,000. The fund emphasizes rapid response funding and capacity building, aiming to empower marginalized communities often excluded from financial support. QMF does not fund groups outside the Southeast or for-profit activities, ensuring resources are directed towards those leading efforts for LGBTQ+ rights.

The Southern Documentary Fund (SDF) offers a Production Grant aimed at supporting Southern documentary filmmakers. With funding made possible by the MacArthur Foundation, SDF prioritizes nonfiction projects in production that showcase the rich tapestry of Southern stories. Up to seven grants of $15,000 each will be awarded to help elevate underrepresented voices and narratives. Applicants must have ties to Southern states and meet specific eligibility criteria to apply.

The Artist Creative Practice Grant by South Arts supports individual artists in various disciplines by funding professional development opportunities. This grant ensures that artists can access vital experiences that enhance their careers, covering up to 2/3 of the total costs with awards ranging from $500 to $3,000. The NRA Foundation: Kentucky Grants provide funding to organizations that promote firearm safety, education, and marksmanship in line with charitable purposes defined by the IRS. Eligible applicants include IRS-recognized nonprofits, government entities, and state-recognized organizations. Ineligibility applies to labor organizations, private businesses, and individuals. The Foundation aims to foster educational and scientific initiatives within the shooting sports community, ensuring a commitment to safety and responsible firearm use.

The Women's Mini Grant Application supports county Farm Bureaus in Kentucky by offering grants up to $500 for educational programs aimed at enhancing agricultural literacy among children and adults. Funded by a live auction, this initiative prioritizes programs demonstrating financial need. Six mini-grants will be awarded in 2025, encouraging innovative educational efforts in the community.

The Emergency Community Water Assistance Grants in Kentucky provide crucial funding for communities facing emergencies that threaten safe drinking water access. Eligible applicants, including state and local governments and nonprofit organizations, can receive up to $1 million for water source projects or $150,000 for water transmission line improvements. This program aims to restore and improve water supply systems, particularly in rural areas, enhancing resilience against disasters like droughts and floods.

The Individual Artist Fellowship, offered by the Kentucky Arts Council, provides a competitive $7,500 award to professional artists in Kentucky. This fellowship recognizes creative excellence and is based on the quality of submitted work samples. Applicants must demonstrate a high level of achievement in their field and have been Kentucky residents for at least one year.
