Gerstbrein/McCanna Scholarship for the Arts

After a long and rewarding career in Landscape Design and Art Education, Lisa Gerstbrein/McCanna wanted to promote the Arts and Industrial Arts in the community where she made her home and her livelihood. Her career brought her tremendous joy in pursuits that she loved as well as the satisfying reward of helping students find inspiration in the worlds of Art and Industrial Art. She is a true believer in the concept of STEAM based education. Accordingly, she established a fund to provide scholarships for the advanced education of advancing Senior High School Students in these areas who are residents of Armstrong County, Pennsylvania and are pursuing higher education in an approved program within 300 miles of their respective school - Armstrong High School, West Shamokin High School or Lenape Technical School.

Detective LaVern S. Brann Scholarship Fund

The Detective LaVern S. Brann Scholarship was established in loving memory of Detective Brann by his family. The purpose is to provide scholarships to individuals who are considered a minority by race or representation in the police officer profession.

The scholarship will be available for graduates (non-traditional students) or graduating high school seniors from the Battle Creek area who are seeking educational opportunities in the Kellogg Community College Police Academy in order to become a police officer. The Battle Creek area is defined as residents or schools providing diplomas or other graduate equivalency in the townships of Pennfield, Emmett, Bedford and the Cities of Springfield and Battle Creek.

The Corporate Giving Program by the Franklin P. and Arthur W. Perdue Foundation focuses on supporting nonprofit organizations within specific states. They prioritize initiatives that enhance community welfare, especially in agriculture, education, health, and environmental sustainability. Organizations must have 501(c)(3) status to apply, and preference is given to those involving Perdue associates. Ineligible requests include those from religious, political, or individual-focused groups. This program emphasizes broad community benefits over organizational affiliations.

The Susan Shattuck Scholarship for Future Nurses, offered by the Grand Haven Area Community Foundation, supports high school seniors in the Tri-Cities area pursuing a nursing degree. This scholarship honors Susan Shattuck, a dedicated nurse who championed care for the underserved. Eligible applicants must demonstrate financial need and a passion for nursing. Special consideration is given to students studying Political Science at Grand Valley State University or Aeronautical Engineering at Western Michigan University. The GPCAH Community Pilot Grant supports innovative research and outreach aimed at enhancing the health and safety of agricultural workers in the Midwest.
