The Lozier Foundation

Formed in 1986, The Lozier Foundation is a family foundation funded by Allan and Dianne Lozier. The foundation’s focus is education, social services and issues involving women and children with an emphasis on the inner city and underrepresented populations.

The Lozier Foundation grant applications include: Capital Application; Education Application; General Application; and Program Application.

Organizations may receive general operating, program, and capital grants. While The Lozier Foundation prefers to provide ongoing general operating support, organizations can receive a program and/or capital grant in the same calendar year.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant opportunity for schools across the US to implement the PLTW Gateway program for the first time. With total funding of $9,100, the grant covers participation fees and training registration costs. Schools, including public, private, and charter, are encouraged to apply, particularly those serving low-income and minority majority populations. This initiative aims to enhance educational pathways in STEM for diverse student groups.

The Encova Foundation of West Virginia is dedicated to improving communities by supporting local causes that align with the values of its associates and policyholders. They focus on health, education, and wellness, emphasizing the importance of children's success. Organizations applying for grants must be U.S.-based and verified as charitable. Preference is given to initiatives impacting health and education, especially those involving Encova associates as active participants.

The CHS Foundation offers funding for innovative projects in precision agriculture and data analytics. This annual grant program supports colleges and universities focusing on enhancing agronomy and ag mechanics curriculum. Applications are accepted from April 15 to May 31, with priority given to initiatives that foster hands-on learning and technology development. Eligible projects should emphasize data analysis and improve students' understanding of agricultural technology, while adhering to funding guidelines.

The Beatrice Gun Club, INC. Scholarship, funded by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, offers a $250 scholarship to a deserving high school graduate who is a member of the Beatrice Trap Team or related to a member. Eligible students must pursue higher education at an accredited institution and demonstrate commitment through extracurricular activities. Economic need is not a factor in the selection process, ensuring support for dedicated individuals aiming to further their education.

The NRA Foundation offers grants to support educational programs in shooting sports across communities. These grants aim to promote firearms safety, educate individuals about firearms and marksmanship, and conduct research for improved safety techniques. Eligible organizations must possess a Federal Employer Identification Number and can include government entities, recognized nonprofits, or educational institutions. The foundation emphasizes public benefit, ensuring that projects contribute positively to the community.

The Beatrice Education Association offers a $250 scholarship to a deserving senior planning to attend Southeast Community College full-time. Established by the Beatrice Educational Foundation in 1987, this initiative supports students in need of financial assistance for higher education. With over $55,000 awarded annually in scholarships, the Foundation aims to enrich learning opportunities within the Beatrice School District. Selection criteria include financial need and academic achievement, ensuring support reaches those who will benefit most.

The Park Foundation Grants for Animal Welfare focus on advancing the protection and conservation of wildlife, particularly through policy and advocacy efforts for threatened species. The foundation supports innovative, solution-oriented models that foster systemic change and compassion. Key areas include organizing for endangered wildlife, indigenous management practices, and supporting sanctuaries for great apes. Additionally, the foundation is committed to local efforts, including support for the Tompkins County SPCA, ensuring a compassionate society for all living beings.

The Beatrice Education Association Scholarship, offered by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, provides a $500 scholarship to a deserving senior planning to pursue a career in education. Established in 1987, the Foundation manages a $3.8 million Endowment Fund, awarding over $55,000 annually in scholarships. Applicants must rank in the upper one-fourth of their class and may use the scholarship for tuition, room and board, or books at any accredited institution of higher learning.

The Beatrice Country Club, Ladies Golf League Scholarship offers a $500 award to a female member of the Beatrice High girls golf team. Applicants must have participated in golf during their junior and senior years and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. Selection criteria include active involvement in school and community activities. This scholarship is part of the Beatrice Educational Foundation's commitment to support local students in their pursuit of higher education.

The Beatrice Area Retired School Personnel Scholarship, established by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, offers two scholarships of $700 each for students pursuing a teaching career. Founded in 1987, the Foundation supports educational opportunities in the Beatrice School District with a $3.8 million Endowment Fund, awarding over $55,000 annually. Scholarships are available for undergraduate studies and may be held for five years if other funding is received.

The Native Voices Endowment Grants, managed by the Endangered Language Fund, support the preservation of endangered languages associated with Native American tribes that interacted with the Lewis and Clark Expedition from 1803-1806. Grants are available for language documentation, revitalization, and educational projects, fostering cultural heritage through various initiatives. Eligible applicants include tribal members and language programs, ensuring the continuation of linguistic traditions and community involvement in revitalizing native languages.

The Baumfalk, Mayme and Steve Severa and Irene M. and Robert D. Scholarship, provided by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, supports Beatrice graduates from St. Joseph Catholic School or Paddock Lane Elementary attending any University of Nebraska campus. Established in 1987, the Foundation offers over $55,000 in scholarships annually, aiding students in pursuing higher education. Recipients can access funds for tuition, room, board, or books within five years of receiving the scholarship, ensuring ongoing educational support.

For over a century, Navigant Credit Union has been committed to making a meaningful difference in the community. In 2017, we established the Navigant Credit Union Charitable Foundation to further amplify our impact in five strategic areas:

• Education & Financial Literacy: Organizational and capital support for programs, supplies, building products, sports facilities and teams.
• Social Services: Financial support for programs and organizations for children, veterans, hunger and housing.

Wegmans Family Foundation Inc focuses on cultivating healthy communities through support for hunger relief, health initiatives, education, and youth programs. Despite their wide-ranging support, they have specific ineligibility criteria, such as not accommodating personal requests or solicitation on their property, aiming to direct resources effectively where they are needed most.

The Kalliopeia Foundation Grant focuses on supporting projects that foster cultural and ecological renewal through a deep reverence for the Earth. By prioritizing US-based organizations that demonstrate strong community relationships and intergenerational leadership, the foundation seeks to empower marginalized voices and traditional practices. With an emphasis on land care and Indigenous leadership, Kalliopeia aims to cultivate a resilient future where diverse ways of knowing and being thrive harmoniously with nature.

The Land and Water Conservation Fund (LWCF) in Nebraska is a federal initiative aimed at enhancing outdoor recreation by providing financial support to state and local governments. Grants, ranging from $75,000 to $600,000, fund diverse projects including parks, trails, and recreational facilities. The Bonnie Cardone Memorial Scholarship, offered by the Women Divers Hall of Fame, awards $1,500 to a woman diver enrolled in a U.S. or Canada degree program in journalism, graphic arts, photography, or videography. This scholarship aims to support those committed to using their education to benefit the ocean environment and community, promoting greater awareness and conservation efforts. Eligible applicants must demonstrate their dedication to these fields and their potential impact on marine ecosystems.

The Starseed Foundation Grant offers support to 501(c)(3) organizations focused on enhancing the arts, environmental protection, literacy, and social services. Grants are available to organizations throughout the United States, with a specific emphasis on programs based in Oregon. Interested parties must first submit a Letter of Inquiry to be considered for funding. This initiative aims to improve the quality of life for underserved communities through cultural and educational enrichment.

The Beatrice Noon Kiwanis Club Scholarship, offered by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, provides three $1000 scholarships annually to graduating seniors from Beatrice High School. Eligible students must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and meet ACT score requirements. Selection criteria include financial need, academic goals, achievements, and participation in high school activities, including Key Club. This scholarship aims to support students pursuing higher education at Nebraska colleges.

The NCR-SARE Research and Education Grant Program supports innovative agricultural projects that are environmentally sound and socially responsible. Grants ranging from $10,000 to $250,000 are available for projects lasting up to 36 months, promoting collaboration among researchers, educators, and producers. This program emphasizes outreach, farmer involvement, and research on topics such as sustainable pest management, local food systems, and crop diversification, addressing the economic and environmental aspects of agriculture.

The E.B. Henderson Award, presented by SHAPE America, honors minority members who have demonstrated exceptional commitment to scholarship, mentorship, and advocacy for ethnic minorities within health and physical education. Established in 1885, SHAPE America serves over 200,000 professionals, promoting high-quality education standards. The award recognizes individuals who have significantly contributed to increasing the participation of underserved populations in the field. Limited to two awards annually, it highlights the importance of diversity and inclusion in health education.

The SFS Fellows Grant, awarded by the Society for Freshwater Science, recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to freshwater science research, policy, or management. Each year, up to four fellows are selected based on their sustained excellence and leadership within the field. This initiative also encourages diversity by promoting nominations from underrepresented groups and mid-career professionals. The grant fosters collaboration and participation in SFS activities, enhancing the impact of freshwater science.

The FY 2027 Office of Violence Prevention Grant aims to reduce street and gang violence, firearm-related homicides, and injuries while promoting youth employment in high-crime areas. This grant, administered by the Nebraska Commission on Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice, encourages communities to adopt comprehensive strategies that include prevention, intervention, enforcement, and rehabilitation. Gilead North America Grants support community-informed programs that enhance healthcare for vulnerable populations. Grants are available for innovative projects addressing HIV, liver diseases, oncology, and inflammatory diseases. Applications are invited from tax-exempt nonprofits based in the U.S. who focus on health equity and community engagement. Gilead prioritizes funding for projects that demonstrate a strong capability to deliver impactful outcomes, helping to eliminate barriers to healthcare and improve access to essential services.
