The Western Big Game Seasonal Habitat and Migration Corridors Fund, managed by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), aims to enhance big game habitats and migration routes on federal, private, and Tribal lands. About the Department

The Nevada Department of Education (NDE or Department) leads and collaborates with Nevada's 17 school districts and the State Public Charter School Authority to advance educational equity Statewide. With offices in Nevada's capital, Carson City, and Las Vegas, NDE oversees all pre-K-12 education in the State with mission of improving student achievement and educator effectiveness by ensuring opportunities, facilitating learning, and promoting excellence. Under the leadership of the State Board of Education and the Executive Team, NDE impacts the achievement of nearly half a million children and 30,000 educators.

Open Enrollment Transportation Support Grant

Assembly Bill 533 (AB533) and Senate Bill 460 (SB460), passed during the 2025 Legislative Session, allocated $7M to support transportation services for students residing in the zone of attendance of a 1- or 2-star school who enroll in a program of open enrollment to attend a school outside of their zone of attendance and have attested to requiring financial assistance. The Nevada Department of Education (NDE or Department) is tasked with establishing a program to award grants of money to school districts and organizations so that they may develop a program to provide transportation directly to pupils, provide reimbursement to the parents or legal guardians of students for the cost of transportation, or to identify the need and eligibility of students for a program of transportation assistance. Please note that details regarding this funding are explicated through regulatory amendments to the Nevada Administrative Code (NAC) and are currently in draft as R076-25RP3. As these regulations have not yet been approved, excerpts of draft regulatory language are included in this Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO).

The American Electric Power Foundation provides grants to 501(c)(3) organizations focused on educational improvement, particularly in STEM fields, and basic human services such as hunger and housing. The LSTA Planning and Assessment Grants program supports libraries across Nevada to enhance their services and meet community needs through strategic planning and assessment activities. The Express Health Information Outreach Awards aim to enhance public health by increasing access to biomedical information for U.S. health professionals and the general public. These awards support projects that improve health information literacy among consumers and caregivers, ensuring they can effectively find and utilize health information. Nevada Women's Fund scholarship program was established to empower women in Northern Nevada by supporting their educational pursuits. Since its inception, the program has awarded millions of dollars in scholarships to women across the region, helping them achieve their academic and career goals. Over the years, the program has expanded to include support for students in a variety of fields, with a focus on fostering economic self-sufficiency and professional advancement. The Degree Pathway Scholarships, offered by the Nevada Women’s Fund, empower women in northern Nevada by supporting their pursuit of academic degrees such as associate's, bachelor's, master's, and doctorate programs. These scholarships aim to strengthen communities and promote self-sufficiency through education. Applicants must be enrolled full-time in accredited institutions and meet specific eligibility criteria, including a minimum GPA of 3.0. Announcements for scholarship awards take place each April, fostering women's educational advancement.

The Great American Cleanup Grants, offered by Keep America Beautiful, aim to enhance community beautification and environmental efforts across the U.S. This initiative encourages KAB affiliates to remove litter, plant greenery, and restore public spaces, contributing to the larger goal of cleaning up 25 billion pieces of litter by 2026. With cash grants available, this program fosters collaboration among communities, promoting sustainable practices and a cleaner, greener future for all.

The objective of the Regional STEM Network Grant  is to support and fund innovative and collaborative initiatives that strengthen awareness, opportunities, and retention in Nevada’s STEM education and workforce pathways.

The Native American Affairs program for Fiscal Year 2025 aims to provide crucial funding for drought relief projects that support federally recognized tribes in the Colorado River Basin. The initiative focuses on enhancing drought resiliency, improving water delivery efficiency, and addressing drinking water shortages. With a maximum award of $1,000,000 per tribe, this program encourages collaboration and aligns with federal priorities to effectively mitigate drought impacts within tribal communities.

The Rosendin Foundation Annual Grant provides financial support to community-focused 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations across various states, aiding initiatives in emotional, occupational, and nutritional health. Grants can reach up to $50,000 and are geared towards organizations that positively impact their communities. However, the foundation does not fund discriminatory practices, political efforts, or religiously affiliated projects, ensuring that support is directed towards inclusive and impactful community services.

The United We Stand Grant for State Agencies in Nevada provides crucial funding to enhance preparedness against terrorism. It supports local and state governments with planning, training, and purchasing necessary supplies and equipment. This initiative aligns with the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security's priorities, ensuring that applications focus on effective strategies for combating potential threats. By providing financial assistance, the grant empowers agencies to develop robust emergency response capabilities.

The Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) intends to issue a Broad Pragmatic Studies (BPS) PCORI Funding Announcement (PFA) on Aug. 4, 2026, seeking to fund high-impact, patient-centered comparative clinical effectiveness research (CER) projects. This preannouncement provides potential applicants additional time to identify collaborators; obtain patient and stakeholder input on potential studies; and develop responsive, high-quality applications. 

Patient-centered CER compares at least two available health treatments, services or care delivery strategies. PCORI seeks proposals that compare clinical interventions (e.g., pharmacological and nonpharmacological treatments, screening and diagnostic approaches) and healthcare delivery system interventions (e.g., workforce, technologies, healthcare service delivery designs) to evaluate potential benefits and harms of different treatment and care delivery options, thus generating evidence that empowers patients, caregivers and the broader healthcare community with information to make informed choices that reflect their needs and preferences. 

The United We Stand Grant provides vital funding for Local Emergency Planning Committees (LEPCs) in Nevada, aimed at enhancing preparedness against terrorism. This grant supports planning, training, and procurement of necessary supplies and equipment. Eligible LEPCs must comply with state regulations and demonstrate how funds will be utilized to strengthen community safety. This initiative aligns with the Nevada Commission on Homeland Security priorities, ensuring that local entities are equipped to respond effectively to potential threats.

The Wellness Across the Lifespan Grant supports the health of communities by providing access to nutritious food and essential nutrition education. Grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000 are awarded to 501(c)(3) nonprofits in areas where Sprouts Farmers Market operates. This funding emphasizes health and nutrition education, as well as programs that promote healthy lifestyles and nutrition security, ultimately benefiting adults and vulnerable populations.

The Ernest Morgan Memorial Scholarship, managed by CommunityGiving, supports central Minnesota student athletes and leaders to pursue higher education outside their home states. This scholarship aims to expand students' horizons and experiences, with a total award of $5,000 available. Open to high school seniors from specific schools, applicants are encouraged to apply online and demonstrate their leadership or athletic skills. This initiative enhances educational opportunities and fosters personal growth among local youth.

The US Department of Health & Human Services, through the NIH, invites applications for innovative approaches to implement SBIRT/P for addressing alcohol, tobacco, and other drug use in adults facing health disparities. This funding opportunity encourages research that tests screening, brief interventions, and referrals for treatment or prevention services. Applications are due on specified deadlines from February 2024 through March 2027, fostering collaboration with healthcare and community partners to enhance public health outcomes.
