Each Henderson County Public High School may nominate one male and one female graduating senior. The nominee must have played in three varsity sports for two or more years during grades 9-12 (one of those years being their senior year). The nominee must have a GPA of 3.0 or better. Financial need is not a requirement.

Chat Jones Memorial Scholarship

This scholarship is for a resident of Henderson County seeking further education in an accredited degree-granting college or university. The recipient must demonstrate financial challenges to attend an institution of higher learning. The applicant should show promise and be meeting passing grade requirements but may not be in the top of his or her class rank. Consideration will be given to an applicant with special needs connections (either personally or working with).

The Dr. Eric W. Bond Community College Scholarship, established by the Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge, honors Dr. Bond's dedication to education in Augusta County. This scholarship supports three graduating seniors from each public high school who demonstrate financial need, community service, and extracurricular involvement. This fund was set up by the Randolph County Recycling District. The district was established in 1996, dedicated to helping our community reduce waste, reuse creatively, recycle right, respect the earth and rethink sustainability through community outreach and environmental education programs. The fund held at CFRC was created in 2004 to help further their mission by establishing a scholarship for Randolph County seniors who are committed to environmental conservation and aspire to careers that will contribute to the preservation and restoration of the environment.
