The Friends of NRA State Fund Grant Program provides supplies, equipment, and financial support to a variety of qualified groups and programs at the local level; geared towards youth, women, law enforcement, veterans, the disabled, and the general public, including:

• Hunting and conservation

• Historical education

Forest Economy Grant Program

The Forest Economy Program, administered by the Northern Border Regional Commission, makes awards in the form of Grant Agreements. The program stimulates economic growth in the forest-based industries, including new technologies and viable business models, across the NBRC four-state region in alignment with state economic development plans and forest economy initiatives. 

NBRC's Forest Economy Program (FEP) is designed to support state-identified development plans for the regional forest economy and to assist in the industry’s evolution to include new technologies and viable business models.

Forest Economy Program Priorities  

Successful projects support a broad range of initiatives such as, but not limited to:

• Public infrastructure projects that directly support the forest industry;  
• Community development projects that support the diversified use of forest for economic activity;  
• Workforce training and development projects for the purpose of building the skills and recruiting and retaining the workforce needed for forest businesses, and;
• Marketing, communication and education projects that are paired with a public infrastructure, community development or workforce training or development project.  
• Basic research projects will not be considered. Preference will be given to applied research and demonstration projects that demonstrate a strong connection to industry.

Assistive Technology Grant -  Allison Keller Education Technology Program

Realizing the gains that many people with autism have achieved using the iPad, the Allison Keller Education Technology Program was created in honor of Flutie Foundation Board Member Kevin Lane Keller's daughter Allison. The goal of the program is to help fill the financial and technological gap for schools and 501(c)3 organizations that assist individuals with autism.Applications will be considered for any technology tools and/or training that improve learning outcomes or performance. Examples include but are not limited to:

The Flutie Foundation is seeking innovative partners who are using technology to address real needs facing the autism community. One program per public school district is eligible to be awarded an Allison Keller Education Technology grant annually.

The Green Family Foundation Grants support initiatives that enhance access to the arts, culture, education, and healthcare. Through a competitive RFP process, they prioritize community-driven solutions that foster equity, innovation, and collaboration in key areas such as Global Health, Community Empowerment, The Arts, and Education. Nova Vista Foundation

The Nova Vista Foundation is a family foundation formed in 2024. Our mission is to help ensure a livable planet with shared prosperity for present and future generations. This means we focus on the climate crisis. We fund systems-change interventions that can influence global emissions trajectories. We are hits-based and risk-neutral.

Our funding to date has focused on:

• Efforts to increase public support for innovation in hard-to-decarbonize sectors, particularly food (alternative proteins) and industry (steel and chemicals).
• Efforts to create the political conditions to ensure further policy progress and defend against derailment.

Nova Vista Foundation Grant

We are running an open RFP to provide up to $10 million to support policy advocacy, market-shaping work, and other high-leverage strategies to advance innovative proteins, by which we primarily mean plant-based meat, fermentation-derived protein, and cultivated meat. These have also flown under the banner of alternative, sustainable, or new proteins, clean meat, protein diversification, and novel foods. Work on dairy and eggs is also in scope. Advocates for protein innovation have made significant progress in recent years, yet the gap in government investment relative to the technology’s importance remains enormous.

The case for these technologies is not only a climate case — domestic food security and production capacity, supply chain resilience against geopolitical and other shocks, and job growth and economic competitiveness in an innovative, high-tech industry where other countries are investing heavily are key parts of the case for innovative proteins. We think that breadth is an advantage, and we would like to fund new, credible messengers for those arguments.

The MCF: Maine Theater Grant supports nonprofit professional and community theaters in Maine, fostering vibrant communities through live performances. Established by an anonymous couple in 2005, this grant program prioritizes adult theater and dramas, offering funding between $2,500 and $5,000 to eligible organizations including 501(c)(3) nonprofits and municipalities. Applicants should focus on enhancing their operational capacity or project-specific needs, while adhering to guidelines that exclude certain expenses and types of projects.

The Maine Sea Grant Program Development Funds support small research projects and proof-of-concept initiatives that align with Maine Sea Grant's strategic goals. Funding ranges from $1,000 to $5,000, with larger budgets requiring discussion beforehand. Eligible applicants include individuals from Maine-based academic, research, and for-profit entities. The program prioritizes projects that enhance research, education, and outreach efforts, while also allowing for conference support under specific conditions.

The Morton-Kelly Charitable Trust, established in 1988, focuses on enhancing community connections through arts, culture, and environmental initiatives in Maine.
