Summary

Through this Request for Proposals (“RFP”), the Massachusetts Clean Energy Technology Center (“MassCEC”) is offering Students and Young Adults Equity Workforce Career Awareness and Training Grants. The Grants help provide direct funding and technical assistance support to organizations interested in career awareness and training programming focused on supporting students1 and young adults who are part of one or more of the following populations:

• Individuals from Environmental Justice (“EJ”) Neighborhoods or low-income communities;
• Members of federally recognized or state-acknowledged tribes;
• Members of underrepresented communities in the clean energy workforce; and
• Current or former workers from the fossil fuel industry (“Fossil Fuel Workers”).

Strand A: Clean Energy Career Awareness, Career Exploration, Career Navigation, and Preparedness

Strand B: Career Pathway Training with Work-based or Learning-based Opportunities

Strand C: Planning and Capacity Grants for Career Awareness or Career Pathways Training 

The Organizational Development Grant by the Community Foundation of North Central Massachusetts aims to enhance nonprofit effectiveness through funding small capital needs. This initiative supports vital resources such as furniture, equipment, and technology, ensuring nonprofits can sustain their impact. Eligible organizations can apply once per program, fostering collaboration and measurable outcomes. This grant aligns with the foundation's mission to improve community life across a diverse 33-community region, emphasizing capacity-building and efficiency.

The Allison Keller Education Technology Grant Program, established by the Doug Flutie, Jr. Foundation for Autism, aims to bridge the technological gap for schools and organizations supporting individuals with autism. Since 2012, over $820,000 has been awarded to enhance learning through technology, including iPads and apps. The Peter and Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation is dedicated to empowering children and young adults affected by substance use disorders, learning disabilities, mental illness, and intellectual disabilities. Their Programs & Services Grants support initiatives within Erie and Niagara Counties in New York and parts of Massachusetts, focusing on enhancing community capabilities and improving quality of life. Note that applications for certain grant cycles are paused for the remainder of 2025 as the foundation shifts towards emergency response funding.

The Offshore Wind Works program aims to build a qualified and equitable workforce for the growing offshore wind industry in Massachusetts.
