Beyond tuition, many funds support total cost of attendance — books, fees, equipment, and in some cases childcare or transportation.

Checks are made payable to the educational institution indicated on the follow-up and mailed directly to the educational institution. Checks are typically mailed in early August.

Leroy McKinney Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund

This scholarship was created in memory of Leroy McKinney Jr., who was a graduate of Battle Creek Central High School, Class of 1988. Upon graduation, he studied Pre-Engineering in college. He also had an entrepreneurial spirit. Though he struggled with mental illness, one of his proudest accomplishments in life, was returning to college as an adult and completing his Bachelor's degree in Business Management. He would be honored to know this scholarship was created in his legacy to support other African American men to pursue their education in these fields.

The Limited Competition Small Grant Program for the NCATS CTSA Program aims to empower KL2 scholars by funding diverse clinical and translational research projects. These grants support short-term studies, methodology development, and preliminary data collection, facilitating the transition to independent research careers. Applications will undergo NIH peer review, ensuring only high-quality proposals receive funding. This initiative fosters innovation in research methodologies and technology, ultimately enhancing the capabilities of emerging translational scientists.

Native Forward awards are allocated based on the financial aid information provided by the institution’s Financial Aid Office. Awards can vary, ranging from $100 to $30,000 per academic year.

Native Forward Scholars Fund members of federally and state-recognized Tribes as well as first and second-generation descendants. However, Native Forward Scholars Fund scholarship opportunities have different Tribal eligibility requirements and can be determined by submitting a Tribal Eligibility Certificate.

Lynne Ruth Lafin Elmore Sucher Scholarship

This opportunity is provided to honor the life and legacy of Lynn Ruth Lafin Elmore Sucher.

The purpose of the Lynn Ruth Lafin Elmore Scholarship program is to provide financial assistance to eligible American Indian and Alaska Native graduate students attending full-time at an accredited institution pursuing mathematics, Medicine, or life sciences are eligible to apply.

This opportunity is a need-based award.

The Chick-fil-A Community Scholars program awards up to thirteen $25,000 scholarships annually to students demonstrating academic excellence, community service, and financial need. In addition to financial support, recipients participate in a year-long mentoring and leadership development program. This initiative aims to cultivate future leaders who are committed to serving their communities, while also alleviating educational costs associated with attending accredited colleges or vocational schools.

The DLA Piper Scholarship Programs - LEAP (Legal Elite Athlete Program) aims to support student athletes and veterans pursuing a legal career. Administered by Scholarship America, this initiative promotes access to legal education for individuals who demonstrate discipline, resilience, and leadership. Eligible candidates must be at least 18 years old, have completed two years of undergraduate study, and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. This program reflects a commitment to breaking down financial barriers in education.

The Freeman Hrabowski Scholars Program, funded by the Howard Hughes Medical Institute, supports exceptional scientists for a five-year term, with potential for renewal. Scholars receive up to $8.6 million over ten years, including salaries, benefits, and a substantial research budget. They dedicate at least 80% of their time to research and foster an inclusive lab environment, mentoring future scientists. This program emphasizes scientific excellence while integrating diversity, equity, and inclusion into research practices.

Weber Specialties Company Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Weber Specialties Company located in Schoolcraft, Michigan to support students pursuing a certificate or two-year or four-year degree in a manufacturing curriculum.

KZCF scholarships may be applied to any items under your school’s cost of attendance (COA). Each school has a different COA that may include items such as tuition, fees, housing, transportation, food, health insurance, etc. Scholarship payments are sent directly to your institution.

This scholarship is a one-time award, meaning that it will not repeat in subsequent years. The money awarded can be applied to your education costs alongside other scholarships or funding that you may receive, and there are no necessary steps once funds are sent.

Stanley Nase Family Scholarship

To provide financial support to graduates of Hot Springs High School or a current resident of Fall River County pursuing a business degree.

Applicants must be graduates of Hot Springs High School or residents of Fall River County with an interest in pursuing a business-related degree, such as accounting, business management, business education, or economics who demonstrate a financial need. The selection committee wants to understand why you are interested in pursuing a business degree as part of the application process.

The Hedy and Fred Reisberg Scholarship Fund, established by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, offers two scholarships of $4,175 each for local Jewish undergraduate and graduate students. This initiative supports their academic and spiritual growth, enabling them to attend the university or Yeshiva of their choice. DJCF focuses on enhancing the Greater Dallas Jewish community through strategic philanthropic efforts, fostering generosity, and ensuring the sustainability of essential institutions.

The Louis Shlipak Healthcare Scholarship Fund, managed by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, awards $1,900 to undergraduate and graduate students pursuing careers in healthcare. Established in memory of Louis Shlipak, this scholarship aims to honor his legacy by supporting dedicated students in their educational journeys, ultimately preparing them for impactful careers in the medical field. The DJCF is committed to strengthening the community through philanthropic efforts and fostering generosity.

The Texas DPS Scholarship, offered by the Communities Foundation of Texas, provides financial assistance to current or retired Texas Department of Public Safety employees and their immediate family members. Eligible applicants must be Texas high school graduates or foreign nationals residing in Texas for a year, with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and standardized test scores. Scholarships can be applied at accredited colleges or universities in the U.S., fostering educational opportunities for those who serve the community.

The Ginger Siegel Kottwitz Theatre Arts Scholarship Fund, established by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, honors Ginger Siegel Kottwitz's legacy and passion for theatre. This $1,210 scholarship supports Jewish undergraduate and graduate students pursuing degrees in theatre or musical theatre at accredited institutions, including The Juilliard School. By nurturing artistic talent, the fund aims to inspire the next generation of performers and contribute to the cultural landscape of the community.

The GJ Hecht Scholarship for Women to Make a Difference, established by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, offers a $1,075 award to female undergraduate students majoring in business or entrepreneurship. This scholarship honors women who demonstrate strength, courage, and vision, and are dedicated to making a positive impact in their communities through innovation and leadership. The DJCF aims to empower the Greater Dallas Jewish community and promote charitable giving that creates lasting change.

The Northwood Woman’s Club Scholarship offers one-year scholarships ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 for female students pursuing education at accredited institutions in the U.S. Established in 1953, the scholarship aims to support women in their academic endeavors without restrictions on the field of study. Eligible applicants must be female residents of Dallas or Collin County, Texas, with a minimum GPA of 2.5. This initiative fosters educational growth and community development.

City Barbeque Scholarship Fund-Employees/Dependents

The City Barbeque Employee and Dependent Scholarship Fund is intended to promote educational opportunities for employees, and/or dependents of City Barbeque employees, in their chosen field of study.

The Ginger Chesnick Jacobs Archivist Scholarship Fund, established by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, offers a $1,170 award to support undergraduate and graduate students pursuing archival education. Students majoring in library sciences, museum studies, and related fields across the United States are encouraged to apply, fostering a commitment to safeguarding cultural memory.

Cage Family Scholarship Fund

The scholarship honors the Cage Family’s commitment to support students who are working toward a college degree.

The James R. and Joanne K. Burgoon Endowment, established by a bequest from James R. Burgoon, honors the couple's legacy of service and education in Westerville, Ohio. With a focus on supporting students pursuing accounting or law, this endowment reflects their commitment to community betterment. Managed by The Columbus Foundation, one of the largest community foundations in the nation, it aims to foster educational opportunities for deserving candidates, particularly those with ties to Westerville.

Roberta Jones Booth Scholarship Fund

Family and friends established this scholarship in memory of Roberta Jones Booth for her love and support of her community. This scholarship will support students from the community of the Marion Franklin Civic Association boundaries.

The Menaker Family Scholarship Fund, established by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, offers a $1,410 scholarship to local graduate students pursuing advanced degrees in Social Service or Public Health Administration. This initiative is designed to support students committed to enhancing public health and social well-being, thereby benefiting the broader community. By fostering educational advancement, the fund aims to empower individuals to make a positive impact in their fields and contribute to societal betterment.

The Horticulture Printers Scholarship, established in memory of Harold & Beky Vanberg, offers up to $5,000 for dependents of Veritiv employees. This one-year scholarship can be applied at any accredited U.S. college or university. Selection criteria include academic achievement, SAT/ACT scores, civic involvement, and financial need. Since 1953, Communities Foundation of Texas has partnered with donors to support educational opportunities, fostering thriving communities through accessible scholarship programs.

James L. Allen Scholarship Fund

The scholarship was established by James L. Allen, a dedicated community leader who served with the Columbus Urban League (1938–1954) and later with the UNCF (1960–1995), raising millions to support higher education for African-American students. He worked for many years in public accounting and real estate, and was an active member of St. Philip’s Episcopal Church and various other organizations. His contributions to the Columbus community and beyond have earned him numerous awards for his professional and community service.

The Harold Zweig/Russell Dallen Scholarship Fund, established by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, offers a $2,500 scholarship to local Jewish postgraduate students. This award supports those pursuing graduate studies, emphasizing academic excellence with a minimum GPA of 3.8 and a commitment to community impact. The fund honors Harold Zweig and Russell Dallen, aiming to empower emerging leaders in the Jewish community to further their education and contribute positively to society.

The Gerardo and Helga Weinstein Scholarship Fund, managed by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, offers a $3,680 scholarship to support local undergraduate and graduate students. It seeks to assist students demonstrating academic excellence, financial needs, and active community participation. This initiative reflects the Foundation's commitment to fostering educational success and community engagement, contributing to the long-term development of the Greater Dallas Jewish community and beyond.

The Julie G. Lowenberg Scholarship Fund, established by the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation, offers a $1,250 scholarship supporting local undergraduate and graduate students. This fund honors Julie Lowenberg and aims to assist motivated individuals committed to their academic pursuits. The scholarship encourages students to pursue higher education and personal growth, contributing to the enrichment of the Greater Dallas Jewish community and fostering a culture of learning and achievement.

The One at a Time Scholarship Fund of the Dallas Jewish Community Foundation provides $445 to local undergraduate and graduate students dedicated to advancing their education. Established by Sharon and Brad Roth, this scholarship emphasizes the belief that education can address social challenges. It aims to empower individuals to create positive change in their communities, highlighting the importance of making a difference one person at a time.

National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky

The National Federation of the Blind of Kentucky is a chartered affiliate of the National Federation of the Blind (NFB). The National Federation of the Blind (national office and all state affiliates) are tax-exempt non profit agencies and are classified as 501c(3) organizations. The NFB is a Better Business Bureau (BBB) Accredited Charity as well as a Combined Federal Campaign (CFC) Approved Charity.

Mittie Lake Scholarship

The National Federation of the Blind of Greater Louisville scholarship has named the Mittie Lake Memorial Scholarship in honor of Ms. Mittie Lake, a charter member of the National Federation of the Blind of Greater Louisville who understood and championed the value of higher education. Our minimum award for the Mittie Lake Scholarship is $500 for one winner.

About the Scholarship

The Mittie Lake Memorial Scholarship is named in honor of Mittie Lake who was a long-time Federationist and charter member of the National Federation of the Blind of Greater Louisville. Mittie was a student at the KY School for the Blind. During her middle years, Mittie lost all of her sight.

Mittie had an enthusiasm for life and all of its many offerings. The fact that Mittie became totally blind did nothing to stop her from living the life she wanted. Mittie was married and raised a family and she worked tirelessly in her church nursery for more than thirty years, providing nurturing care for hundreds of babies and young children. Mittie sang with numerous choirs, quartets and ensembles. She was a strong advocate for Braille and its use in all aspects of daily life. Mittie chose to use a guide dog and treated her guides not only as the tools she needed to live her life independently, but as valued friends and companions who were never without love, affection, and a treat or two.

In honor of her life experiences, preference will be given to students who are guide dog users and who utilize Braille as part of their daily lives.
