UCHealth Employee Scholarships

With thanks to our generous donors, UCHealth Northern Colorado Foundation is pleased to offer academic scholarships to UCHealth employees in northern Colorado.

Scholarships are available to support permanent and relief employees’ academic pursuits toward an associate’s degree, bachelor’s degree, master’s degree, or doctorate program. Applicants will be considered for all scholarships for which they are eligible via the completion of a single application.

Awards are typically paid-out in August, 2026. Scholarship award amounts may vary from $500-$2,000.

The PIDS Summer Research Scholars Award, established by the PIDS Foundation, supports students in pediatric infectious disease research. Open to undergraduate and graduate students, this award promotes impactful summer research projects across various disciplines, including basic science and clinical studies. Funded partially by Sanofi, it encourages mentorship by PIDS members, aiming to enhance scholarship and practical contributions to the field of pediatric infectious diseases.

The Community Foundation of the Holland/Zeeland Area seeks to ensure that our community thrives today, tomorrow, and forever by building our Community’s Endowment to support high impact charitable projects, helping donors achieve their charitable goals, and leading and partnering in community-level initiatives.

Scholarships

CFHZ awards over $1 million in scholarships each year for students to attend schools of higher education throughout the nation. Our scholarships are possible thanks to the generosity of donors who invest in our community’s future by furthering the education of others.

All Holland/Zeeland area individuals interested in post-secondary education are encouraged to apply for CFHZ scholarships.

The Foundation proudly administers over 100 scholarships, each with unique eligibility criteria that must be met before a candidate can be considered.

Jessie F. Dalman Scholarship

• Graduating senior or graduating early college student who attends public or private school within the primary service area of the Community Foundation or at Hudsonville High School or Hudsonville Unity Christian High School
• Enrolling in a 4-year degree program at an accredited post-secondary school within the United States
• GPA of 3.8 or greater and ranked in the top 10 percent of graduating class
• United States citizen
• Leadership is an additional consideration

The Laura Davis 'Aim for Your Dreams' Educator Award empowers educators at J.E.J. Moore Middle School by providing financial support for professional development and classroom resources. This award honors Laura Sheree Cox Davis, a beloved teacher known for inspiring students and enhancing their educational experiences. Teachers can apply individually or as a team, with grants up to $1,000 available to help realize their innovative ideas and facilitate enriching experiences for their students.

James Weldon Johnson Scholarship

The James Weldon Johnson Scholarship, powered by Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity, Inc., is one of many funding opportunities available to students through the NAACP's Inspire Initiatives. We offer scholarships to outstanding and qualified students pursuing undergraduate degrees. Through the generosity of our donors, we advance efforts to ensure equity in educational opportunity that prepares students for success in school, work, and life.

The James Weldon Johnson Scholarship is open to first- or second-year male students who will matriculate to full-time enrollment at an accredited academic institution in Fall 2025.

The HAF: Holiday Funding Partnership Grant, supported by the Humboldt Area Foundation, provides essential funding for charitable organizations offering winter holiday assistance in Humboldt, Del Norte, Trinity, and Curry counties. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations, public benefit entities, and those with a fiscal sponsor. The program aims to support initiatives that run from November 15 to January 1, enhancing community well-being during the holiday season.

The Agnes Jones Jackson Scholarship honors the late Agnes Jones Jackson who was a long-time NAACP member from the San Francisco branch.

Gabilan Hope Scholarship

School District (SUHSD). This program was established in 2015 by a grant from a private donor in San Francisco. His intention was to provide exceptional migrant students from often hard-pressed backgrounds with the opportunity to complete their undergraduate education by reducing the financial burdens they may face.

NOTICE TO STUDENTS WISHING TO ATTEND HARTNELL COLLEGE

The overall goal of the Gabilan Hope Scholarship is to support qualified students to complete their undergraduate degrees at the university level. However, due to the significant barriers caused by the COVID pandemic, a number of Gabilan Hope Scholarship (GHS) applicants are choosing to attend Hartnell College, our region’s well-respected community college.

Students attending Hartnell may qualify for $500 annual GHS renewal scholarships if, in addition to meeting the minimum requirements, they join academic cohort programs designed to support their transition to four-year schools, or accelerate their advancement to graduation.

These academic lockstep student support programs at Hartnell include

• TRiO,
• CSin3 for computer science majors,
• TAG (talented and gifted) programs,
• Similar programs offered for special interests such as medicine and psychology, as appropriate for each GHS recipient’s particular academic focus.

The Morris Stulsaft Foundation is dedicated to improving the lives of Bay Area children and youth by funding organizations that provide quality early childhood education for ages 0 to 5. The foundation prioritizes strong leadership and community engagement, supporting programs that incorporate a whole-child approach, engage parents, and promote teacher development. Grants are available for organizations serving low-income households in the San Francisco Bay Area, with a focus on sustainable, impactful initiatives.

The Culture Forward Grant, initiated by the Svane Family Foundation, allocates $5 million to support arts and culture projects that engage families, students, and young professionals in Downtown San Francisco. Open to individual artists and organizations, this initiative emphasizes community revitalization and collaboration, ensuring projects are completed within a year. The Foundation prioritizes projects that demonstrate potential for impactful engagement in the local cultural landscape.

Bill Boehlke Scholarship

Bill Boehlke worked for both the Seattle Seahawks and Seattle SuperSonics as a creative member of their digital communications departments. His imagination, humor and positive personality were appreciated by everyone he worked with. In memory of Bill, his family established this scholarship fund in 2020. The fund will provide scholarships to high school seniors in the state of Washington who are pursuing a career in digital communications, including social media video production. Scholarships will help cover qualified expenses including tuition, books and other expenses necessary for their classes. Scholarships are not renewable. Special consideration will be given to students based on financial needs and the applicant’s history of good character and community service.

The Gordon Hartman Family Foundation Grant supports non-profit organizations that assist individuals with special needs. Grants are awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations primarily serving Bexar County and nearby areas. The Foundation prioritizes funding programs that improve the lives of individuals with cognitive and physical disabilities. Note that the Foundation will not accept applications for the 2022 cycle but will continue to review requests related to its mission throughout the year.

Perkins Grant

The Strengthening Career and Technical Education for the 21st Century Act (Perkins V) became effective on July 1, 2019. This Act reauthorizes the Carl D. Perkins Career and Technical Education Act of 2006 (Perkins IV). Perkins V is largely based on the structure and content of Perkins IV and remains the most important piece of legislation affecting career and technical education (CTE) in Illinois. The purpose of the law is to develop more fully the academic knowledge and technical and employability skills of secondary and postsecondary education students who elect to enroll in CTE programs and programs of study. Perkins V facilitates this by placing a greater emphasis on the following areas:

• Local flexibility
• Comprehensive stakeholder engagement and collaborative planning
• Innovation
• Accountability
• Alignment with other education and workforce programs

The Kenneth Rainin Foundation's Open Spaces Program funds innovative public art projects that engage communities in Oakland and San Francisco. This initiative supports artist-driven collaborations, emphasizing community involvement, unique partnerships, and artistic excellence. Grants range from $15,000 to $175,000, depending on project stages, with a focus on accessibility and sustainability. The program prioritizes projects that are publicly accessible for at least a month and that demonstrate measurable outcomes and evaluations.

Hydro Flask's Parks for All Grants offer product donations to U.S. non-profit 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to enhancing public green spaces and recreational areas. Since its founding in 2009, Hydro Flask has supported initiatives that promote inclusivity and active lifestyles. Organizations can apply for donations in specified quantities, with applications reviewed in January and notifications sent in February. This initiative aims to foster healthier and happier communities through improved access to parks.

The Georgia Promise Scholarship, established by the Georgia Student Finance Commission in 2024, empowers families to choose nonpublic education options, including private schools and home study programs. This initiative allows eligible families to utilize funds for tuition, textbooks, tutoring, and other educational expenses. To qualify, students must have been enrolled in a Georgia public school or be rising kindergartners, while income level considerations apply for Spring Semester enrollment. This scholarship aims to enhance educational opportunities for Georgia’s students.

The Tocker Foundation, established in 1964, focuses on enhancing the educational opportunities for rural librarians in Texas. Through the Texas Library Association (TLA) Travel Stipend, the foundation supports library staff from communities with populations of 12,000 or less to attend the TLA's annual conference. This initiative allows librarians to gain valuable insights, network with peers, and enrich their professional development, ultimately benefiting their local communities.

The School-Based Dental Program, initiated by the NC Dental Society Foundation, provides essential dental services to children in Title 1 schools across North Carolina. This initiative aims to eliminate barriers to dental care, ensuring that every child has access to necessary treatments and education on oral health practices. Participating dentists receive $5,000 to launch programs that not only deliver care but also promote preventative measures, enhancing the overall wellbeing of students.

The Georgia Public Service Memorial (GPSM) Grant offers financial support for the education of spouses and children of Georgia public safety officers and school employees who have been disabled or killed in the line of duty. This grant can cover costs up to $18,000 annually, with a lifetime maximum of $72,000. Eligible applicants must have been residents of Georgia for at least 12 months and comply with various academic and legal requirements.

PetSmart Charities' Adoption Prep Grants aim to support organizations that facilitate the adoption of homeless pets through in-store programs. Eligible partners must demonstrate a commitment to increasing adoptions, with grants reaching up to $75,000 in the U.S. and $40,000 in Canada. The funding can be utilized for vaccinations, spay/neuter services, staffing, and volunteer support. This initiative focuses on building sustainable adoption programs that break down barriers to pet adoption.

Preston Coiner Scholarship

The Preston Coiner Scholarship is a multi-year award administered through the Charlottesville Scholarship Program. Based on funding availability, the award may be used for a two or four year undergraduate program. Only one award is given every four years. 

ASPCApro.org provides tools and resources for animal welfare professionals, veterinary personnel and volunteers. We take a progressive approach to helping the country's at-risk animals, promoting cutting edge research to advance the field.

ASPCA The Rescue Effect Campaign Grants

The American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals® (ASPCA®) is offering up to $2 million in grants to support adoption at shelters and rescues during the 2026 “The Rescue Effect”, a nationwide campaign that highlights the positive chain of events that occurs when people adopt, foster, volunteer, advocate and donate.

The Rescue Effect will run through the months of August, September, and October 2026, during which grantees must offer a minimum of two (2) fee-waived adoption days/events each month. 

Restrictions and Parameters

Grant funds may be used for any of the following:

• make-ready costs for cats/dogs available for adoption during the Campaign months covered by the grant term (e.g., s/n surgery, microchips, vaccinations, testing, dewormer, flea-tick treatment, heartworm preventative, bloodwork)
• marketing/advertising costs (e.g., adoption promotions, volunteer/foster recruitment)
• waived adoption fees for adoptions occurring during the Campaign months covered by the grant term
• foster program expansion/ramp up
• operating costs related to supporting participation in The Rescue Effect campaign

The Kurt and Ellen Wohl Scholarship aims to meet the community's diverse needs through creative funding solutions. This scholarship supports individuals aged 25 and older who are returning to college or starting their education, requiring at least 6 credit hours per semester. Eligible institutions must be within 55 miles of Elmira, encompassing schools like Elmira College and Binghamton University. The foundation highlights its commitment to education, arts, and wellness, providing crucial support for community development.

The Executive Fellowship Program at California State University, Sacramento prepares future public leaders through immersive placements in state agencies. Participants engage in hands-on policy development, mentorship from senior leaders, and graduate-level seminars. This program emphasizes skill-building and professional growth, addressing California's governance challenges. It is designed for individuals eager to impact public service and enhance their leadership capabilities, making it a vital opportunity for aspiring leaders committed to public policy and community engagement.
