About Us

The Hawai`i State Foundation on Culture and the Arts (SFCA) was established by the Hawai`i State Legislature in 1965 as the official state arts agency of Hawai`i. The mission of the SFCA is to promote, perpetuate, and preserve culture and the arts in Hawai'i. Since its inception, SFCA has worked to enrich the lives of Hawai‘i residents and visitors through arts and cultural programming and initiatives. 

Performing Arts Grant

The Performing Arts Grant Program, established through Act 131, SLH2025, allocates state general funds in fiscal year 2027 to support the coordination, planning, promotion, marketing, and execution of performing arts events. The legal provisions of the Performing Arts Grant are in Section §9-XX, through § 9-XX of the Hawai`i Revised Statutes. The grant budget is contingent on the Hawai`i State Legislature appropriation.  

Hawaii Revised Statutes (HRS) 9-1 defines “performing arts” as arts or skills that are intended to be performed before an audience, including but not limited to dance, singing, musical, and theater performances. 

The State Foundation on Culture and the Arts is awaiting designation and approval of the Hawaii Revised Statutes that govern facilitating the Performing Arts Grant Program. . 

The Small Arts Grants Program, supported by The Francis Family Foundation, is dedicated to fostering arts and culture in the greater Kansas City area. Organizations eligible for funding include tax-exempt public charities and community-based arts programs. The Foundation aims to enhance creative participation and ensure diverse cultural expressions are accessible to all. With a focus on supporting local initiatives, this program seeks to make a significant impact on the region's artistic landscape.

The Division of Libraries, Archives and Museums offers library and information service to state agencies and the Legislature, provides for the orderly management of current state records, preserves non-current public records of permanent value for study and research, and operates the state museums.

Grants for Alaska Libraries and Schools

The Alaska State Library helps public and school libraries acquire financial assistance.

Interlibrary Cooperation Grant

Each year, the Alaska State Library awards Interlibrary Cooperation (ILC) Grants funds for proposals with a direct impact on library users. Libraries of all types (academic, public, school, and special) are encouraged to submit proposals. 

Interlibrary Cooperation Grants are competitive and project-oriented. A grant review committee will evaluate each proposal and score it according to a rubric. Proposals with significant statewide impact on the sharing of resources; cooperative services with another library; innovative programs for the delivery of library services; or training or other programs that strengthen library services, will be more competitive.

Grantees must demonstrate financial commitment to providing ongoing library services once the project is finished. ILC grants cannot be written to support ongoing operational costs, replace primary funding sources, or fund activities that are the primary responsibility of the applicant library

The Law & Science Program, funded by the National Science Foundation, invites interdisciplinary proposals that explore the intersection of law and scientific principles. It focuses on research examining human behavior, legal processes, and the application of technology in legal contexts. Topics include crime, environmental science, and forensic studies. Applications are due on January 15 and August 1 for the years 2021 through 2025, promoting innovative research that enhances understanding of legal systems.

The Iber Health Education Scholarship, a program of the Community Foundation of Central Wisconsin, supports graduate students pursuing health-related studies. With scholarships ranging from $500 to $40,000, the foundation aids students in enhancing their educational opportunities. Applicants must be Portage County residents, demonstrating academic excellence, financial need, and community involvement. Special consideration is given to those likely to return to the area post-graduation. This initiative aims to foster future leaders in healthcare.

The Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education invites public school districts to apply for Special Support Earmarks, providing approximately $1.384 million in funding as outlined in the FY26 state budget. This initiative aims to enhance educational resources and support for nearly 1 million students across the Commonwealth. Eligible districts can leverage this funding for various earmarked projects, ensuring accountability and effective use of state resources.

The IMPACT: Quality of Place - Special Events Grants, administered by the Erie County Gaming Revenue Authority, aim to enhance community engagement and economic growth in Erie County. Grants support public events that foster inclusivity and attract visitors, ultimately boosting local economies and improving the quality of life. Eligible applicants include 501(c)3 organizations and municipalities based in Erie County, demonstrating the potential economic impact of their events.

Project Lead The Way (PLTW) offers grants for schools to implement the PLTW Computer Science program from 2025 to 2028. Schools must provide at least one PLTW course in the first year and two courses in the second year. The total grant is $14,000, covering participation fees and training costs. Eligible institutions include public, private, and charter schools located in the U.S., with special encouragement for those serving low-income or minority-majority populations.

The Community Health Matching Grant Program, led by the Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan Foundation, aims to support nonprofit organizations in Michigan. This initiative encourages the development of community-inspired and evidence-based programs to address local health needs, ultimately enhancing health outcomes for the community. Eligible organizations must meet specific criteria regarding their budget and patient demographics to qualify for matching funds, ensuring that resources are allocated effectively to underserved populations.

The SDAC Arts Opportunity Grant supports organizations in presenting unique arts activities that arise unexpectedly within the grant year. This interim grant assists those unable to meet regular deadlines, funding one-time events outside of the organization's usual activities. Applicants must demonstrate a dollar-for-dollar match and provide a detailed project description, emphasizing community impact and support needs. This grant is primarily for non-current SDAC grant recipients, ensuring diverse opportunities for artistic engagement.

The Fund for Littlestown

Objective

Created in 2018 through the generosity and in memory of Bernard, Mary and Dick Selby to support “unmet community needs” through an annual grants program, The Fund for Littlestown supports the community of Littlestown, PA.

The O'Neill Community Foundation Fund Grant supports nonprofits in O'Neill and the surrounding area, prioritizing strategic projects that enhance community betterment and economic development. Since its inception in 2005, the fund has provided resources for initiatives unlikely to receive government or charitable funding. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) non-profits and local government entities. The application process is open year-round, allowing for ongoing community support and sustainable development.

The Biffa Award's Main Grants Scheme supports community projects near landfill sites, focusing on enhancing community buildings such as village halls and community centers. The funding can cover renovations, refurbishments, and essential improvements to create inviting spaces for various community activities. Eligible organizations must be charitable or not-for-profit, ensuring that the funding serves the wider community benefit. Priority is given to projects demonstrating significant communal use and engagement across diverse demographics.

The Younger Chemists Committee Leadership Development Award provides essential support for young chemists to attend the Young Chemist Leadership Development Workshop at the ACS Leadership Development Institute. This award covers registration fees, transportation, lodging, and meals, promoting the development of leadership skills among participants. Young scientists under 40 and within the first seven years of their careers are encouraged to apply, making it an excellent networking opportunity to enhance their leadership qualities.

The Book Hook Fund, established by a supporter of Alaskan Brewing Co, aims to enhance library resources in small rural communities across Alaska. With its inaugural grants, including $1000 to Tri Valley Library in Healy, the fund has significantly contributed to expanding children's literature collections. This initiative fosters literacy and learning in communities with populations of 5,000 or less, ensuring that access to quality reading materials is available to all.

The Edward O’Brien Human Rights Education Awards, established by Human Rights Educators USA (HRE USA) in memory of Ed O’Brien, honor individuals and organizations making significant contributions to human rights education in the U.S. Nominations for the 2024 awards are open to both individuals and organizations. Any member of HRE USA or its affiliates can nominate, while non-members are encouraged to join before submitting nominations. These awards aim to recognize and promote impactful human rights education.

The Storms Family Foundation Grant focuses on funding projects that enhance human life within Oregon. Dedicated to respecting life, the foundation seeks applications that demonstrate a clear beginning and end for specific projects. While primarily funding direct initiatives, they also consider capital improvement projects. Only IRS 501(c) organizations are eligible to apply, ensuring a commitment to impactful and sustainable community support.

The R2AC Community Arts Support Grant provides essential operational funding for arts organizations in the Region 2 area, enhancing their capacity to deliver accessible and innovative arts programming. This grant supports initiatives aimed at community engagement and arts education, with funding ranging from $2,000 to $7,000 annually, based on the organization's yearly expenses. Eligible applicants include arts organizations and affiliates that have demonstrated a commitment to serving their communities through the arts.

The Flowers Fund Grant, established by HRE USA in 2017 to honor founding member Nancy Flowers, offers annual small grants of up to $1000. It aims to support innovation and mentorship in human rights education in the U.S., encouraging new ideas and outreach methods. Applications are open to HRE USA members for projects relevant to human rights education, with a focus on research, conferences, and leadership. Grants are intended for completion within the academic year.

The grant is a $9,000, two-year grant – $5,000 the first year, and $4,000 the second year. The grant will be paid to the sponsoring institution.

Our grants fund projects and programs in the areas of the arts, education, and health and welfare. Landfall Foundation: Macro Grants

Macro Grants Applications are only available to Organizations that were selected during the LOI process. $10,001 to $50,000. Approximately 3-5 will be awarded annually. These grants are designed for high-impact initiatives. These selective grants will focus on projects or programs that can bring about transformative change in the community. These may include capital projects designed to improve, expand or repair existing facilities or the purchase of major equipment that supports the organization’s mission.

CPF_Community Library Municipal Grant (CMLG) SFY26-27

Summary:

One million dollars of administrative funds from the ARPA Coronavirus Capital Projects Fund program have been reallocated to the Community Learning Center (CLC) Municipal Grant Program, with U.S. Treasury’s approval, to enable investment in those municipalities that were not part of the initial CLC Municipal Grant Program subawards. This $1 million is designated for use by public libraries located in the 17 Learn365RI municipalities that do not have community learning center projects underway. PRO is administering this round of grants, known as the Community Library Municipal Grant (CLMG) program.

The Funding Opportunity

Strategic Grants provide larger, targeted investments in initiatives designed to create meaningful, long-term impact in Hamilton County. This funding pathway supports organizations pursuing significant opportunities—such as scaling proven programs, strengthening organizational capacity, or advancing transformational projects—in alignment with HCCF’s priority areas.

Strategic Grants may also support organizations navigating significant funding disruptions, where a targeted investment can help stabilize operations, preserve critical services, or position the organization for long-term sustainability.

What is Funded

Strategic Grants support high-impact opportunities that are significant in scope and positioned for long-term community benefit. Funding may include:

• Organizational capacity-building and expansion
• Transformational or large-scale community initiatives
• Capital campaigns (matching funds required)
• Time-sensitive opportunities to stabilize operations following the loss of significant funding

The Process

Strategic Grants are offered through an invitation-only process. HCCF proactively engages organizations whose work aligns with this funding pathway and demonstrates strong potential to create lasting community impact.

In prioritizing invitations, HCCF often considers organizations with a history of partnership or prior funding, while also remaining responsive to emerging opportunities and community needs.

Organizations that have not received an invitation but believe their work aligns with the goals of Strategic Grants may submit a brief request for special consideration. Due to the limited and highly targeted nature of this funding opportunity, submission of this form does not guarantee an invitation to apply.

The ACS Chemistry Festival Grant supports community engagement events held outside the United States and Puerto Rico, emphasizing the importance of chemistry in everyday life. These events, often aligned with National Chemistry Week and Chemists Celebrate Earth Week, facilitate interactive activities for the public, especially children. Organizers from any nation are encouraged to collaborate, and ACS membership is not a requirement. Previous awardees must submit a final report to apply for additional funding.

The Columbus Foundation

In 1943, during the darkness of World War II, a group of passionate citizens, led by Columbus businessman Harrison M. Sayre, envisioned a way to improve the well-being of the community and the quality of life in central Ohio. With little more than this sound idea and faith, The Columbus Foundation was established.

Digital Access Grants

Support for programming designed to offer training or technical support, or expanding the affordability and accessibility of digital technology and the internet to individuals and communities with limited access.

Not everyone has the same level of access to reliable internet service, or the devices and skills needed for work, commerce, education, healthcare, transportation, and civic engagement.

In response to the urgent technology needs of nonprofits and the communities they serve, The Central Ohio Digital Access Fund was established in July 2020. A group of local partners and institutions works on internet affordability, access to devices, and programs across the community that offer training and technical skill building for life and careers in the twenty-first century.
