The Department of Energy is New Hampshire’s newest state agency. In the State Budget that went into effect July 1, 2021, the New Hampshire General Court and Governor Sununu created the Department of Energy.

The Department was designed to “…improve the administration of state government by providing unified direction of policies, programs, and personnel in the field of energy and utilities, making possible increased efficiency and economies from integrated administration and operation of the various energy and utility related functions of the state government.”

Low-Moderate Income Solar Grant Program

Executive Summary

Pursuant to RSA 362-F:10 X, the New Hampshire Department of Energy (Department) issues this Request For Proposals (RFP) seeking proposals for community solar photovoltaic (PV) projects that will provide direct benefits to New Hampshire low, moderate, or low and moderate income (LMI) residential electric customers who reside within the same electric distribution utility service territory. Proposals must present a comprehensive plan that clearly demonstrates and quantifies the net direct benefits to participating LMI customers. Projects or portions of projects that have requested funds from the Department’s Non-residential Competitive Grant Program, Commercial & Industrial (C&I) Renewable Energy Rebate Program, or Residential Renewable Electric Generation Incentive Program, are not eligible for funding under this solicitation. Projects or portions of projects that are designed to depend upon LMI EAP Community Solar designation are not eligible for funding under this solicitation. 

The Department is seeking proposals from qualified individuals, entities, or multiple entities for community solar projects that would provide direct benefits to LMI residential electric customers or to residents of a public housing authority or housing project. For the purposes of this RFP, a residential electric customer is a residential customer of an electric utility that receives electric bills in the customer’s name.

The St. Francis Fund Grant Program

The St. Francis Fund Grant Program seeks to provide funding for programs that support animal welfare in Springfield and Greene County, MO. 

This fund will grant up to $3,400 in the summer of 2026.

In awarding grants, the CFO will not discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status. Grantees must not, in the use of CFO grant funds, discriminate on the basis of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, age, ability, sexual orientation, gender identity or veteran status either in its employment practices or in its policies and procedures concerning access to services.

Dawbarn Education Awards

The Community Foundation of the Central Blue Ridge announced its 10 recipients of the 2026 Dawbarn Education Awards with special surprise visits this week. Now in its 32nd year, the Community Foundation honors community members for their significant impact on youth in the three local public school systems, Staunton, Augusta County and Waynesboro. The award comes with a $10,000 prize and a special banquet to celebrate the recipients in the fall.

Miriam Burrows, the director of educational programs at the Community Foundation, made surprise visits to inform this year’s 10 recipients in person. “Every year, the Dawbarn Education Awards remind us that incredibly important work is bhappening in our schools,” Burrows said. “The nominators and recipients are all so proud of one another, proud of what they do, proud of their students and proud of the schools they work in. “It’s hard not to get choked up. And not one of them is seeking recognition for their work. In fact, they would much rather shine the light on each other than be in the spotlight themselves.

The Hannibal Cox, Jr. Cultural Grants Program offers funding and technical assistance to mid-sized arts, scientific, and historical organizations in Miami-Dade County. Eligible applicants must have a minimum three-year track record of professional programming and an annual budget between $100,000 and $250,000. This initiative aims to support organizations that present a full season of cultural activities, enhancing the vibrant arts community in the area.

The ArtsKC Mission Support Grant is designed to support non-profit organizations whose primary focus is the arts in the Kansas City metropolitan area. Grants of $5,000 are available, with funding aimed at promoting artistic excellence, community impact, and inclusivity. The program supports various art forms and encourages diverse-led organizations to apply, fostering a thriving arts community. Last year, 18 grants were awarded, totaling $98,500, with a multi-year funding commitment for continued support.

The Neil and Louise Tillotson Fund Dash Grants aim to enhance the quality of life in New Hampshire, particularly Coös County, by supporting nonprofit initiatives focused on health, education, and community development. Grants range from $250 to $2,000 for projects lasting up to one year. Eligible organizations include tax-exempt entities and governmental bodies, promoting sustainable practices and collaboration within the community. This funding opportunity encourages innovative solutions to pressing local needs.

The ARS Women in Rhinology Research Grant, sponsored by Medtronic, offers $25,000 for one year to support innovative research in rhinology. Eligible applicants must be members of the American Rhinologic Society who have completed their residency, with at least one female investigator involved. The award covers legitimate research costs, with a detailed budget required. Results must be presented at an ARS national meeting, acknowledging the grant's support. This initiative fosters women's contributions to rhinology research.

The Lilla Jewel Awards support Oregon-based artists of marginalized genders, promoting social change through their work. Established in 1997, the awards offer $10,000 to selected artists, emphasizing those engaged in social justice movements. Eligible applicants must be Oregon residents, at least 18 years old, and of marginalized gender identities. The awards aim to amplify diverse voices historically overlooked in traditional art institutions, fostering a more inclusive artistic landscape.

The Kentucky Arts Partnership Grant provides vital operating support to arts organizations in Kentucky, ensuring that residents have access to year-round arts programming. This grant is aimed at independent arts groups and local arts agencies, helping to foster strong community engagement and cultural diversity. Organizations must demonstrate fiscal responsibility and maintain IRS tax-exempt status to qualify. This initiative not only enhances art participation but also strengthens the overall arts delivery system across the state.

Alaska Energy Authority 

Mission: The Alaska Energy Authority is an independent corporation governed by a board of directors with the mission to “Advancing affordable, reliable energy in Alaska.” AEA is the state's energy office and lead agency for statewide energy policy and program development.

Renewable Energy Fund

About REF

The REF benefits Alaskans by reducing and stabilizing energy costs through the development of renewable energy projects. The program is designed to produce cost-effective renewable energy for heat and power to benefit Alaskans statewide. The Alaska State Legislature established the REF in 2008. With the passage of House Bill 62 in 2023, the sunset date was removed from Alaska Statute, extending the program in perpetuity.

The REF is managed by AEA in coordination with a nine-member REF Advisory Committee. The program provides grant funding for the development of qualifying and competitively selected renewable energy projects.

Renewable Energy Fund Round 18

The REF funds projects across all development phases, serving as a catalyst for the continued pursuit of integrating proven and nascent technologies within Alaska’s energy portfolio.

Eligible projects must be a new project not in operation in 2008, and 

• be a hydroelectric facility;
• direct use of renewable energy resources;
• a facility that generates electricity from fuel cells that use hydrogen from renewable energy sources or natural gas (subject to additional conditions);
• or be a facility that generates electricity using renewable energy.
• natural gas applications must also benefit a community that: has a population of 10,000 or less, and does not have economically viable renewable energy resources it can develop.

The Samull Classroom Herb Garden Grant, established through a generous donation from Donald Samull, supports elementary classrooms (grades K-6) with at least ten students to create herb gardens. Grants of $500 are awarded annually to enhance curricula with hands-on learning experiences about herbs. Eligible classrooms may use funds for plants and necessary supplies like soil and tools. Applications are reviewed by a committee, ensuring equitable access to these educational resources.

The Consolidated Application (ConApp) is used by the California Department of Education (CDE) to distribute categorical funds from various federal programs (e.g., Title I, Part A; Title II) to county offices, school districts, and direct funded charter schools throughout California.

The Gus Poesch Research Fund - Student Travel Grant supports floriculture graduate students from The Ohio State University in presenting their research. Grants up to $1,500 are available for educational travel and require submission of an abstract. Successful applicants must report on their trip and acknowledge funding in all publications. This initiative enhances research dissemination and fosters professional development in the floral industry, which faces ongoing challenges in pest management and production efficiency.

The Peru State College Scholarship, managed by the Beatrice Educational Foundation, provides financial support to Beatrice High School graduating seniors who rank in the upper half of their class. This scholarship covers half of the tuition costs at Peru State College, aimed at assisting deserving students in pursuing higher education. The Foundation, established in 1987, awards over $55,000 annually in scholarships to support local students' educational endeavors.

The Lasker Clinical Research Scholars Program supports early-career clinical researchers aiming to enhance human health. It provides a unique opportunity to bridge NIH's intramural and extramural research environments over two phases: an initial 5-7 year tenure-track position at NIH followed by up to 3 years of extramural support. This program is designed to cultivate the next generation of leaders in clinical research and foster innovative health solutions.

The Translational Medicine Postdoctoral Fellowship by the PhRMA Foundation supports U.S. and non-U.S. citizens in multidisciplinary research training at accredited U.S. universities. The program aims to enhance credentials in translational medicine, focusing on turning laboratory observations into effective medical interventions. The fellowship includes a stipend of $60,000 per year for 12 to 24 months, promoting innovative research that addresses unmet clinical needs in various scientific disciplines.

The PhRMA Foundation's Translational Medicine Faculty Starter Grant supports early-career researchers at U.S. universities, providing $100,000 for one year. This grant emphasizes innovative research that translates laboratory findings into clinical applications, addressing unmet medical needs. Applicants must be within five years of independent status and collaborate with clinical partners. The program aims to foster a patient-centric approach in translational medicine, enhancing the development of new diagnostics and therapies for improved patient care.

The Sadie Meyer and Louis Cohn Foundation, established through the will of Sadie Meyer Cohn, supports education and health initiatives in the San Francisco Bay Area. Organizations must be 501(c)(3) exempt and located in this region to qualify for funding. The foundation prioritizes aid for needy individuals and charitable causes, reflecting its commitment to community welfare and educational support.

The National Institutes of Health is inviting applications for feasibility studies aimed at informing the design of future clinical trials. These studies should demonstrate scientific necessity and may involve mixed methods to assess recruitment, randomization, and intervention delivery. While applications are not currently being solicited, this notice encourages investigators with relevant expertise to prepare for potential collaboration on impactful public health trials.

The Smithsonian Institution is offering the Margaret S. Vining and Barton C. Hacker Fellowship in Women's Military History for the 2025-26 term. This fellowship invites research on women’s roles in national defense up to 1945, utilizing the museum's extensive collections. Stipends of up to $30,000 are available, depending on the candidate's status. Applicants must reside in Washington, DC and commit to a minimum of three days per week at the museum. The Arts Idaho Public Programs grant supports established arts organizations in Idaho that engage the public through high-quality arts programs. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations and government units, all required to demonstrate artistic excellence and a commitment to compensating professional artists. Funding is based on a formula that considers organizational size and past performance.

The City of San Diego offers several funding opportunities for nonprofit organizations each year through an annual process consisting of a Request for Qualifications (RFQ) and a competitive Request for Proposals (RFP).

Arts, Culture & Community Festivals (ACCF)

Through discretionary Arts, Culture, and Community Festivals (ACCF) funds derived from Transient Occupancy Tax (TOT) funds, City Council Offices can award nonprofit organizations funding to promote local arts and culture.

Funds awarded to organizations are awarded at the discretion of each Council Office. ACCF funding may be awarded as a supplemental allocation for nonprofits that have already received an OSP or CCSD award from the Cultural Affairs Department for FY27. Funding may also be awarded to nonprofits for a new project that has not previously received OSP or CCSD support. ACCF funding is solely reimbursement‑based.

The Creative Communities San Diego Grant Program supports nonprofit organizations in delivering impactful arts and culture projects that engage diverse communities. Projects can include art exhibitions, performances, and festivals, fostering a sustainable creative ecosystem in San Diego. Applicants can receive funding based on project budgets and organizational rankings, with awards ranging from $5,000 to 43% of project costs. This initiative aims to enhance accessibility and promote creativity in local neighborhoods.

The California Advanced Services Fund: Broadband Adoption Account encourages applications for projects enhancing broadband access in underserved communities. Eligible projects include digital literacy training and free broadband access in public spaces. Applications are accepted anytime, with deadlines on January 1 and July 1 until funds are exhausted. Preference is given to initiatives targeting low-income and senior citizen communities, promoting digital inclusion and overcoming socioeconomic barriers to broadband adoption.

The North Smithfield Ambulance & Rescue Association Fund Grants, supported by The Rhode Island Community Foundation, aim to enhance the health and welfare of North Smithfield citizens. Established in 2003, these grants typically range from $800 to $2,500. Preference is given to nonprofit organizations in Providence, RI, lacking access to other funding sources. Note that applications from organizations with overdue grant reports will not be considered. This initiative reflects a commitment to addressing local community needs effectively.
