Best Workforce Preparation Job Readiness Grants

Purpose

The selected EPTA PY 25-26 awardee will provide developmental evaluation and technical assistance to projects providing skills trainings to target populations who face unique challenges to accessing employment opportunities. This grant funding provides a valuable opportunity to leverage the evaluation outputs and implement necessary adaptations to support workforce development projects that benefit the individuals and communities they serve.

Description

This grant aims to provide specialized support to help ETPP PY 25-26 projects work better and help program awardees to achieve successful project outcomes. This grant supports a thorough analysis of PY 25-26 ETP Programs, the evaluation will follow best practices for rigorous, transparent, and reproducible analysis, and provide outputs of the evaluation, such as real time interventions, progress reports, and analysis findings. The selected PY 25-26 EPTA awardee will coordinate communities of practice with other technical assistance (TA) providers and assist ETP Program awardees with elevating best practices,  enhancing awardee knowledge and skills, providing targeted assistance, sharing resources, and promoting effective program and administrative practices.   Proposals must be received by 3 p.m. PST on January 5, 2026. An informational webinar will be held on December 8, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. PST. Pre-registration is required. The EDD encourages applicants to submit a notice of intent to apply by December 15, 2025, noon PST to WSBSFP3@edd.ca.gov. The SFP will be posted on EDD's Workforce Development Solicitations for Proposals website.

The Career & Technical Education (CTE) Impact Funding program aims to enhance career exploration for students in grades 5-12 across a diverse region. By fostering partnerships with local businesses and industries, the initiative supports the development of new CTE programs and pathways. It focuses on equipping students with essential technical skills, increasing awareness of CTE opportunities, and ensuring equitable access to career-connected learning experiences, ultimately preparing them for future success in their careers and higher education.

The Massachusetts Clean Energy Center (MassCEC) offers Equity Workforce Training Implementation Grants to enhance access to training for individuals from underrepresented communities. Grants of up to $1,200,000 are available over two to three years for projects that create career pathways in climate-critical occupations. Applicants can propose initiatives focused on employment training, pipeline preparedness for adult learners, or capacity planning for effective training programs, aiming to address existing barriers and foster employer engagement.

The Massachusetts Manufacturing Accelerate Program (MMAP) aims to support small- and medium-sized manufacturers in modernizing their operations and adopting new technologies. This initiative, managed by the Mass Tech Collaborative, provides grant funding and accelerator support to help eligible businesses navigate the challenges of a rapidly evolving manufacturing landscape. By conducting thorough assessments, the program identifies effective capital investments to meet the specific needs of participating manufacturers, fostering economic growth and job creation in Massachusetts.

The Home and Community-Based Services Employee Scholarship Grant and Loan Forgiveness Program, established by the Minnesota Department of Health, aims to strengthen the workforce in the HCBS sector. This initiative provides financial support for employees pursuing further education and training, while also offering loan forgiveness for qualified educational expenses. By enhancing the skills of the workforce, the program seeks to improve the quality of care in home and community-based services across Minnesota.

The Programmatic Support - Education Pillar Award by Honda aims to enhance workforce readiness in the manufacturing sector. It supports nonprofit organizations and schools focused on hands-on programs in design, software/data analytics, and AI/machine learning. Eligible applicants must be US-based and have 501(c)(3) status. The initiative prioritizes projects that train individuals for manufacturing roles, develop technical skills, and introduce automation to prepare for evolving industry demands, ultimately fostering economic prosperity in local communities.

The CCMA Scholarships, offered by the Cooperative Development Foundation, provide financial assistance for registration to attend the CCMA 2026 conference in Tacoma, Washington, from May 28-30, 2026. The Noncredit Strategies at Work (NSAW) Grant, offered by the Illinois Community College Board, aims to enhance noncredit workforce training at community colleges. With $110,000 in funding for each college, the initiative focuses on developing training programs that lead to industry-recognized certifications and short-term credentials. This grant seeks to address employer needs and workforce shortages by strengthening the capacity of community colleges to deliver effective noncredit training solutions, ultimately benefiting over 500,000 Illinois residents annually.

The GACF Strategic Grant aims to enhance the Greenville community by supporting nonprofit organizations, schools, and government units that address critical needs in arts and culture, children and families, and community development. With over $40 million in endowed assets, the Greenville Area Community Foundation prioritizes innovative projects that foster collaboration and self-sustainability. Eligible applicants must focus on improving quality of life and access to opportunities for underserved populations in Montcalm County.

The High School Equivalency Examination Grant Program (HSE) in Georgia provides financial assistance for residents seeking to take state-approved equivalency exams.
