Texas Education Agency

The Texas Education Agency is the state agency that oversees primary and secondary public education. It is headed by the commissioner of education. The Texas Education Agency improves outcomes for all public school students in the state by providing leadership, guidance, and support to school systems.

The Division of Governance Interventions supports TEA’s mission and vision by providing exceptional leadership, guidance, and support to school system leadership teams and governing boards. The division collaborates with external field support agents appointed by the TEA Commissioner of Education to build sustainable systems aligned to core TEA initiatives, so that the school system thrives after the release of agency intervention. 

Discipline and Behavior Supports

Program Description

The purpose of this program is to support the creation, dissemination, and implementation of state-level technical assistance, professional development training, tools, and resources. These include, but are not limited to, the following topics: intensive behavioral interventions, alternatives to exclusionary discipline practices, and addressing the individualization of disciplinary practices for students with disabilities. This grant will support the development of a series of courses and training, enabling us to scale their usage across the state. The initial audience for the technical assistance and professional development provided through this grant is school district and Education Service Center (ESC) staff. These individuals work directly to support children with disabilities who exhibit challenging behaviors, aiming to improve special educator practices and outcomes for students with disabilities.

Examples of the types of activities supported by this grant include, but are not limited to, developing a variety of courses, webinars, and resources on topics outlined in the grant program’s purpose, with the goal of future implementation and statewide scaling.

CFEM Excellence in Education Grant

The Excellence in Education Grant is to support worthy educational projects in any of the five counties we serve: Clarke, Kemper, Lauderdale, Neshoba, or Newton counties.

This grant was created in memory of Mr. Walter L. Smith, a dedicated business associate of Mr. Phil Hardin in the management of Hardin’s Bakeries Corporation. It is said that Mr. Smith showed a deep and abiding interest in the well-being of East Mississippi and its people.

2026-2027 ESC ESSA Basic Services Initiative

Program Description

The purpose of the ESC ESSA Basic Services Initiative is primarily to provide support for and to work cooperatively with campuses and provide technical assistance to other ESSA programs that increase opportunities for all students to meet challenging State academic assessment standards. 

2026-2027 Jira-Incident Management System (TIMS)

Program Description

The Texas Student Data System (TSDS), a statewide initiative by TEA, modernizes education data collection, management, and reporting to improve student outcomes through enhanced TPEIR reporting. To support TSDS users — including school system administrators and educators — the grantee will host, develop, maintain, and upgrade an automated incident management system/help desk for all user-facing TSDS applications, delivered via the Jira platform.

Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Centers, Cycle 12, Year 4

The purpose of the 21st CCLC program is to assist students in meeting state and local academic achievement standards in core subjects, such as reading and mathematics, by providing the students with opportunities for academic enrichment activities and appropriate supplemental activities during non-school hours or periods when school is not in session.

Neshoba Teacher Mini Grants

The purpose of the Neshoba Education Endowment Fund is to provide mini-grants to teachers to support educational programs and activities in Neshoba County.

Teacher Mini-Grants are limited to $500 or less.

The number of teacher grants given each year is based on the amount of funding available and the applications received. Multiple awards are given each year.

Reparations Action Fund For Tomorrow

About the Reparations Action Fund For Tomorrow

The Reparations Action Fund For Tomorrow’s (RAFFT) mission is to drive transformative restorative justice initiatives in Lancaster that address historical inequities in the African American/Black community. Through targeted financial investments, community education, and collaborative partnerships, RAFFT aims to uplift voices, restore dignity, and create pathways to economic and social well-being. 

Decisions regarding RAFFT funds are made by a disbursement team of African American/Black community members with lived experience.

Purpose of the RAFFT Fund

In 2023, Community Mennonite Church of Lancaster (CMCL) established this fund to address inequities experienced by descendants of enslaved Africans. Understanding generations of racial injustice have resulted from (chattel slavery and Jim Crow segregation), other congregations of all faith traditions along with individuals are invited to contribute to the Reparations Action Fund for Tomorrow (RAFFT). Decisions regarding RAFFT funds are made by a disbursement team of African American/Black community members in Lancaster with lived experience.  

Our mission is to drive transformational restorative justice initiatives in Lancaster, PA that address historical inequities and support the empowerment of African American/Black communities. Through targeted financial investments, community education, and collaborative partnerships, we aim to uplift voices, restore dignity, and create pathways to economic and social well-being. We are dedicated to fostering a community where the legacy of our ancestors inspires action, accountability, and lasting change.

This scholarship is awarded to a new or returning student demonstrating academic success.

The Altrusa International of Central Connecticut Scholarship, offered by the Middlesex Community College Foundation, supports non-traditional students who demonstrate exceptional community service and require financial assistance to pursue a bachelor's degree. This initiative aims to eliminate financial barriers to education, fostering student success and celebrating academic achievement. The scholarship is part of the foundation's broader mission to enhance educational opportunities and strengthen ties between the college and the community.

Beaulieu Manufacturing and Machine Technology Scholarship

This scholarship is awarded to students with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Center for New Media Annual Scholarship, offered by the Middlesex Community College Foundation, supports students majoring in new media production or communications. Eligible candidates must have a GPA of 3.0 or higher and be either new, returning, or graduating students. The scholarship aims to alleviate financial barriers to education and encourages student involvement in campus activities, fostering academic success within the community.

This scholarship was established by Chuck Wiltsie, longtime former board member of the MxCC Foundation, and his wife, Rachel. It is presented to an entering or returning student, motivated to succeed, and clear about how this scholarship will help to achieve success.

Dean Emerita Adrienne Maslin Scholarship

This scholarship was established by the Student Senate in honor of Adrienne Maslin, Dean of Students Emerita. It is awarded to a graduating student transferring to a four-year institution with strong evidence of participation in college activities and a GPA of 2.5 or higher.

Elizabeth R. Wagner Scholarship

This scholarship was established for a student pursuing a career in law enforcement as a criminal justice major with a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

The Detroit Auto Dealers Association (DADA) Charitable Foundation Fund empowers charitable organizations focused on enhancing the lives of children and youth in southeast Michigan. Since its establishment in 1999, it has allocated over $6.4 million to support local nonprofits. The fund prioritizes sustainability, regional impact, collaboration, and leveraging additional resources to ensure lasting benefits for the community. Applications are welcomed from 501(c)(3) organizations serving the defined region, with an emphasis on impactful, collaborative projects.

The Ceres Charitable Foundation aims to improve educational infrastructure and provide medical support in developing nations. The foundation funds new schools and supports existing educational programs while ensuring that medical procedures are life-changing yet non-invasive. By collaborating with NGOs and community organizations, Ceres targets resources effectively to combat declining literacy rates and ensure educational opportunities for all children, regardless of gender. This commitment fosters sustainable growth and empowers communities in need.

The Mary A. Crocker Trust Grant focuses on enhancing education and environmental stewardship in the Bay Area. It supports innovative educational programs for pre-collegiate students and funds local projects aimed at improving environmental practices, such as waste management and sustainable agriculture. Priority is given to organizations with strong ties to the Bay Area, fostering a passion for lifelong learning and advocacy for the natural environment.

State Farm's Good Neighbor Citizenship Company Grants aim to enhance community safety, development, and education. Focused on long-term impact, they support initiatives in auto and home safety, disaster preparedness, affordable housing, and educational programs. Eligible recipients include nonprofits, educational institutions, and government entities. However, funding is not available for individuals, religious programs, or organizations outside the U.S. By addressing critical community needs, these grants foster safer and more resilient neighborhoods.

The Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust focuses on enhancing health and well-being in Maricopa County, Arizona, through strategic grantmaking in six key areas: arts and culture, children, education, healthcare, older adults, and religious organizations. By collaborating with local nonprofits, the Trust aims to strengthen community support and leadership, ensuring that marginalized populations have access to vital services and opportunities that foster inclusion and development.

The Albertsons' Companies Foundation - Northern California Grant Program supports nonprofit organizations enhancing community well-being in key areas such as health, hunger, youth education, veterans, and diversity. To apply, organizations must have a local employee sponsor and serve the community where Albertsons operates. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $2,500 for first-time applicants, with a review process taking around six weeks. The Foundation prioritizes inclusivity and does not fund individuals or for-profit organizations.

The Carrs Foundation in Seattle offers support for nonprofit organizations that align with its mission of strengthening local communities. This biannual grant prioritizes health services, education, hunger relief, and inclusion for all abilities. Eligible organizations must have a valid 501(c)(3) status and serve the community in which they operate. The foundation is committed to inclusivity and does not fund for-profit entities, religious organizations for religious purposes, or advocacy groups.

The Safeway Foundation, part of the Albertsons Companies Foundation, focuses on supporting nonprofit organizations in Portland, OR, and SW Washington that align with their mission to improve community quality of life. Priorities include health services, hunger relief, education, and supporting diversity. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $5,000, aimed at organizations with a 501(c)(3) designation, ensuring funds are directed towards impactful programs and community initiatives.

The Nicholson Family Foundation Grant supports organizations that empower underserved youth in arts, education, and social services across Northern California. Established in 1996, the foundation provides small grants that create meaningful impacts, reinforcing community ties. Eligible organizations may reapply every three years, ensuring ongoing support for impactful initiatives. The foundation prioritizes operational support and encourages collaborations with new organizations, fostering a sustainable philanthropic environment.

The Albertsons Foundation - Intermountain is dedicated to enhancing community welfare through strategic funding. It supports nonprofit organizations in areas such as health services, diversity inclusion, and education, particularly in the Intermountain region (ID, MT, WY, UT, NV, ND). By partnering with local entities, the foundation ensures that its contributions address essential community needs while promoting access to vital services, fostering inclusivity, and encouraging educational success for all children.

The James A. Welch Foundation, established in 1960, has committed over two million dollars to enhance educational opportunities for gifted students in Flint and Genesee County, Michigan. Recognizing the increasing complexity of educational pathways, the Foundation encourages initiatives that identify and support academically and creatively talented youth. By fostering growth and development, the Foundation aims to nurture a community of learners prepared to thrive in a dynamic global society.

Lord's Foundation Grant aims to promote education and uplift underprivileged communities through various initiatives. It provides scholarships to deserving students, collaborates globally to establish legal centers in India, and partners with educational institutions to enhance learning opportunities. The foundation invites proposals from individuals and entities aligned with its mission, fostering knowledge dissemination and awareness in society. Through its efforts, Lord's Foundation is committed to creating a positive impact on education and community development.

The Sparkplug Foundation Grant supports innovative projects from early-stage organizations and established non-profits in education, community organizing, and music. The foundation emphasizes community-led initiatives that address systemic injustices and engage marginalized populations. Grants are available for one year and prioritize projects with small budgets that lack extensive funding sources. The foundation encourages applications from diverse communities, particularly those led by Black, Indigenous, People of Color, and LGBTQ individuals, fostering equitable access to resources.
