Best Adult Education Grants

The Federal Pell Grant provides financial assistance to undergraduate students who demonstrate exceptional financial need. Award amounts vary based on the student's financial situation and enrollment status, with a maximum duration of six years of full-time enrollment. The Faculty of Arts and Sciences Special Student Scholarship at Harvard supports Bachelor of Liberal Arts candidates who are admitted as Special Students. This scholarship, awarded by the Extension School, covers tuition for one undergraduate course per term, provided it aligns with the student's field of study and isn't available in the Extension School curriculum. Recipients are selected based on financial need and academic merit, requiring a minimum GPA of 3.33.

The Richard Newcomb and Janice Schreiber-Newcomb Scholarship, established by Effie Schreiber in memory of her children, supports students in the Shawano area pursuing higher education. Full-time students can receive $1,000, while part-time students are eligible for $500. This non-renewable scholarship encourages annual applications as long as students maintain enrollment at accredited institutions. The scholarship honors the legacy of Richard and Janice, who were community-oriented and dedicated to education.

The Robert and Amy Sanders Experienced Student Scholarship, a $500 non-renewable award, supports adult learners at pivotal points in their lives, inspired by the founders' own educational journeys. This scholarship aims to assist individuals seeking to commence new careers or advance in their current roles through education. To maintain eligibility, recipients must register as part-time or full-time students at Fox Valley Technical College for the fall semester.

The Wisconsin Women’s Alliance Foundation Scholarship offers three non-renewable awards of $2,000 each for students attending an accredited 2- or 4-year institution. These awards are intended to assist with the first semester's cost of attendance. Students must maintain part-time or full-time enrollment to retain eligibility. This scholarship seeks to empower women in the community through education and support.

The Jonathan E. Clark Scholarship Fund, established by the Hartford Foundation for Public Giving, aims to support students pursuing trades through community colleges or technical schools. The fund awards scholarships to eligible high school seniors and adult learners in the Greater Hartford area, particularly those in need of financial aid. Since 1945, the Hartford Foundation has awarded nearly $30 million to local students, fostering higher education and career readiness in vocational fields.

The American Savings Foundation offers scholarships primarily to Connecticut students based on financial need, academic achievement, and community involvement. With nearly 400 scholarships awarded annually, this program supports high school seniors, current college students, and nontraditional adult learners pursuing higher education or vocational training. Applicants must reside in Connecticut and demonstrate a commitment to their educational goals. Awards are renewable for up to five years, fostering long-term educational growth and success.

The CPCF Women’s Giving Circle Scholarship, established by the Crown Point Community Foundation, aims to empower women in South Lake County, IN, over the age of 21 through collective giving. The Women's Giving Circle believes that by working together, they can create a greater impact in their community. This non-renewable scholarship supports college students and adult learners, emphasizing the importance of financial assistance for various community needs.

The John & Susan (Rose) Dorr Scholarship, offered by the Muskingum County Community Foundation, aims to support Muskingum County residents who are graduates of local high schools. Eligible applicants include current high school seniors and college students majoring in business, nursing, or education. With a minimum GPA of 2.75, this scholarship reflects the Dorrs' commitment to giving back to their community and nurturing future generations.

The Tri Kappa Scholarship - Sue Crisman Memorial Scholarship, established by the Crown Point Community Foundation, supports women over 21 who are returning to education after a significant gap and are involved in community service. This non-renewable scholarship aims to enhance the quality of life in South Lake County by providing financial assistance to deserving candidates. Award recipients are invited to a special Scholarship Awards Night, fostering community engagement and recognition.

The JoAnne and Jim Haag Scholarship, administered by the Crown Point Community Foundation, supports South Lake County residents pursuing education in Building Trades or Auto/Diesel Mechanics. Open to graduating high school seniors, college students, and adult learners, this scholarship aims to enhance local educational opportunities. It is a non-renewable award for individuals up to 25 years of age, ensuring that financial assistance reaches those who need it most in the community.

The Dorothy Dillman Max Scholarship, administered by the Crown Point Community Foundation, supports adult learners in Lake County, Indiana. Eligible applicants must be at least 25 years old, enrolled in an undergraduate program at Indiana University Northwest, and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 while taking at least two courses per semester. This scholarship prioritizes students demonstrating financial need, fostering educational opportunities to enhance community enrichment.

The Crown Point Community Foundation Scholarships support graduating high school seniors, college students, and adult learners from Crown Point, Winfield, Cedar Lake, or Lowell. With over 80 scholarship funds established by local donors, the foundation ensures financial assistance is tailored to community needs. Eligible applicants may attend colleges, universities, or vocational schools, but the scholarships are non-renewable. This initiative enriches the quality of life in South Lake County by maximizing charitable giving.

The Charles Hall & Beatrice Joy Kolar Scholarship Fund, managed by the Crown Point Community Foundation, supports local students pursuing education in the trade industry. This fund provides financial assistance to graduating high school seniors, college students, and adult learners, focusing on those with greater financial need. Scholarships are non-renewable and are awarded based on specific criteria set by donors to enhance educational opportunities in South Lake County.

The New Beginnings Scholarship Fund for Unhoused Youth, managed by the San Diego Foundation, aims to support San Diego County residents who have experienced homelessness during high school. This scholarship is available to a diverse group of students, including high school seniors and adult re-entry students, enabling them to pursue post-secondary education or vocational training. By addressing educational access and housing instability, the fund promotes long-term stability and success for these individuals.

The Pelucca-Muller Scholarship Fund, managed by The San Diego Foundation, provides financial support to a diverse group of students from San Diego County pursuing post-secondary education. It aims to promote educational access for high school seniors, current college students, community college attendees, and adult learners. With a focus on those demonstrating financial need and maintaining a minimum GPA of 2.0, this scholarship fosters opportunities across various educational pathways.

PFund Foundation

PFund Foundation builds equity with LGBTQ+ communities across the Upper Midwest by providing grants and scholarships, developing leaders, and inspiring giving.

PFund Foundation Scholarship

Our scholarship program awards LGBTQIA individuals for their commitment and leadership within LGBTQ+ communities. Scholarships support post-secondary academic programs as well as non-scholastic leadership development opportunities. The scholarship must be used within a year unless it is a multiyear scholarship.

Non-scholastic leadership opportunities include leadership development, community activism or organizing, or to attending conferences and workshops that enhance leadership skills. Examples include, but are not limited to: Wellstone Action, Creating Change, or the Rockwood Leadership Institute. Leadership development opportunities can be located anywhere, but the applicants' work in LGBTQ+ communities must be based in Iowa, Minnesota, North Dakota, South Dakota, or Wisconsin and/or the Native Nations that share the same geography.

Community Scholarship Program

Since 1997, the Community Scholarship Program has awarded $59.5 million to more than 15,400 students, making our program the largest non-university scholarship provider in San Diego County. By offering financial assistance, the program helps students dedicate more time to their studies, stay enrolled and complete their degrees.

The Hayden Scholarship

The Hayden Scholarship applicants should:

• Have resided in San Diego County for at least one year
• Be graduating high school seniors attending high schools in Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos or Escondido, or adult re-entry students who:
• Plan to enroll in an accredited community college, public four-year university, or trade/ vocational school in San Diego County
• Have a minimum unweighted GPA of 2.5 on a 4.0 scale
• Have a demonstrated financial need
• Have demonstrated social responsibility and a high level of integrity
• Have contributed to their community as demonstrated by their involvement in extracurricular, work, religious or volunteer activities
• Be United States citizens

The Virginia E. Lewis Scholarship Fund, established at The Pittsburgh Foundation, supports undergraduate students majoring in Art or Art History. Created from the bequest of Miss Lewis, a distinguished art historian and former director of The Frick Art Museum, this fund aims to assist deserving scholars pursuing their passion in the arts. Eligible candidates must demonstrate financial need and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0 while attending an accredited college or university in the U.S.

Parkview Health Foundation

The Parkview Health Foundation plays a vital role in supporting Parkview Health and its ability to provide expert, specialized healthcare to our entire region. As the area’s largest health system, Parkview Health serves a population of more than 1.3 million in northeast Indiana and northwest Ohio.

Since 1878, charitable giving has been an important part of Parkview’s ability to deliver excellent care for every person, every day. The Parkview Health Foundation helps ensure philanthropic donations are used to support Parkview patients and the community at large by enhancing the patient experience through comfort and healing.

Scholarships

Helping train and educate the next generation of Parkview caregivers is an important part of our purpose. Through the generosity of donors, we are able to offer scholarships to Parkview co-workers and area students who are pursuing their nursing degrees or EMT certifications — helping ensure the excellence in care continues.

Parkview LaGrange Hospital Scholarship

The Parkview LaGrange Hospital Scholarship was established upon the recommendation of hospital volunteers as a way to give back to the community with the funds raised from the hospital’s gift shop and Parkview Health Foundation donors. The scholarship is open to students and adults who reside in LaGrange County and who are pursuing a degree in healthcare-related field. 

The Hamilton Community Foundation offers scholarships for adults aged 25 and older who are either starting or continuing their college education. With no application deadline, this program is designed to support adult learners returning to academia or completing unfinished degrees. The Foundation emphasizes its commitment to lifelong learning and expanding access to higher education for individuals at all stages of life, thereby enhancing community development in the Greater Hamilton, Ohio area.

Adults or graduating seniors who reside Shelby County, Ohio or in the School Districts of Shelby County, Ohio, who are enrolling in an accredited adult educational program or trade school or pursuing an Associate’s Degree shall be eligible to apply.

Selection based upon (in order of priority):

• Demonstrated interest and passion for a specific career path, demonstrated work experience, demonstrated community or school service and recommendations.

Awards

• One $2,000 scholarship

• Demonstrated interest and passion for a specific career path, demonstrated work experience, demonstrated community or school service, and recommendations. Preference given to applicants seeking a career in HVAC, plumbing or electrical.

Adults or graduating seniors who reside Shelby County, Ohio or in the School Districts of Shelby County, Ohio, who are enrolling in an accredited adult educational program or trade school or pursuing an Associate’s Degree shall be eligible to apply.

Selection based upon (in order of priority):

• Demonstrated interest and passion for a specific career path, demonstrated work experience, demonstrated community or school service and recommendations.

James F. and Marcia L. Schulze Scholarship

Students must be pursuing an ABET accredited Bachelor’s degree within a College of Engineering (majors such as Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering Technology, or others) at an Ohio institution. 

Selection based upon:

Academic ability; school and community service; and recommendations.

Awards

• Two $2,000 scholarships, renewable for up to two (2) additional years

Community Foundation of the North State

The Community Foundation builds trust through relationship, integrity, and by providing safe places for donors to give their resources.

We are a nonprofit, public charity serving the people of Shasta, Siskiyou and Tehama counties, with a mission to impact the region through the power of giving.

Scholarships

The Community Foundation of the North State manages many scholarship funds that are awarded to graduating high school seniors as well as students already in an undergraduate program. Some scholarships were started by families or individuals; others by businesses or organizations. All scholarships share one important focus: helping young people reach their educational goals.

Marcia McKenzie Pay It Forward Scholarship

This scholarship is open to all majors, with priority given to women returning to school at Shasta College, or CSU Chico.

The Marcia McKenzie ‘Pay It Forward’ Scholarship Fund honors Marcia’s strong belief in a college education to further a person’s career goals and life path. She was the first of her family to attend and graduate from college, and benefitted throughout her life from that education. Years after her bachelor’s degree, she commuted to CSU, Chico to obtain a master’s degree while teaching full time at Shasta College. 

A wonderful mother and scratch cook, this scholarship was organized by her daughters and niece to honor her unwavering educational legacy. This scholarship is open to all majors, with preference given to applicants with an articulated career path, and life or community experiences that have delayed but clarified career intentions.
