QMF does not fund groups outside the Southeast or for-profit activities, ensuring resources are directed towards those leading efforts for LGBTQ+ rights.

The Starseed Foundation Grant offers support to 501(c)(3) organizations focused on enhancing the arts, environmental protection, literacy, and social services. Grants are available to organizations throughout the United States, with a specific emphasis on programs based in Oregon. Interested parties must first submit a Letter of Inquiry to be considered for funding. This initiative aims to improve the quality of life for underserved communities through cultural and educational enrichment.

Alabama Rural Health Transformation Program - Statewide Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Trauma and Stroke Initiative

Funding under this NOFO is intended to support the initiation and expansion of eligible Statewide EMS Trauma and Stroke Initiative projects that advance one or more of the initiative goals and align with the defined strategy category identified in Section I. Depending on the proposed scope of work, funding may support activities related to improving the capacity of EMS systems, including system development, protocol implementation, training, care coordination, and operational support necessary to improve emergency response and care coordination across EMS agencies and hospitals. This may include efforts to expand trauma and stroke response capabilities to reach additional geographic regions and/or expand statewide hospital-referral services to include additional conditions.

All funding under this opportunity is expected to be distributed through a competitive subaward process. Selected applicants will be treated as subrecipients and will be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and programmatic requirements associated with the award. 

Funding Availability

ADECA anticipates making approximately $4,000,000 available under this NOFO, consistent with the CMS-approved Statewide EMS Trauma and Stroke Initiative budget. ADECA intends to make awards under the strategy category described in Section I. The number, size, and distribution of awards will depend on application quality, applicant readiness, geographic distribution, and other factors identified in this NOFO. 

The Alabama Power Foundation's Students to Stewards Grants support schools in Alabama by providing up to $3,500 for environmental education initiatives. This funding enhances conservation learning and creates outdoor classrooms, crucial for teaching students about preserving natural resources. Additionally, the grants can facilitate safe learning environments during COVID-19, ensuring students can continue their education while adhering to social distancing guidelines. This program empowers future generations to appreciate and care for Alabama's rich natural heritage.

William H. Coleman, Sr. Scholarship Fund

The purpose of fund is to promote continued growth and career advancement through higher education in a nursing career to nurses and health care providers that are currently employed at Highlands Medical Center.

The Manufacturing Extension Partnership Center State Competition aims to support small and mid-sized manufacturers in the U.S. by facilitating the adoption of advanced manufacturing technologies. This initiative, funded by the NIST, encourages innovation in manufacturing through the integration of robotics, AI, and other technologies. Eligible applicants can establish MEP Centers in various states, helping manufacturers improve competitiveness and economic outcomes. This program is vital for enhancing productivity and fostering growth in the manufacturing sector.

The Alabama State Council on the Arts offers the Community Arts Project Grant to enhance life quality and economic vitality in Alabama through diverse artistic support. This grant promotes excellence in the arts, provides educational opportunities, and encourages public engagement. Eligible projects can include festivals, performances, exhibitions, and workshops, aiming to create positive arts experiences for all Alabamians. The grant seeks to foster appreciation for the arts and recognize their role in cultural and economic development.

ADECA Domestic Violence Trust Fund

Domestic Violence Trust Fund is a state funded grant that provides funds to assist certified DV Shelters in Alabama. This program is funded through the Marriage Licenses fees that are collected throughout the State of Alabama.

In order to receive these funds, the agency must be certified through the Alabama Coalition Against Domestic Violence. The agency must provide the minimum services required under Section 30-6-6 of the Code of Alabama, which includes, but is not limited to, information and referral services, counseling and case management services, temporary emergency shelter for more than 24 hours for adult victims and their accompanying children, a 24-hour hotline, training for law enforcement personnel, assessment and appropriate referral of resident children, outreach services as defined by standards for counties without a physical emergency shelter facility, educational services for community awareness relative to the incidence of domestic violence, the prevention of domestic violence, and the care, treatment, and rehabilitation for persons engaged in or subject to domestic violence.

The Domestic Violence Trust Fund operates on the state fiscal year calendar of October 1st- September 30th. Funds are distributed to the agency each quarter. Application for this grant is due annually.

The Alabama State Council on the Arts offers the Arts in Education Grant to enhance arts education for PreK-12 students in Alabama. This grant supports curriculum-based projects that provide sequential learning opportunities, ensuring every student can engage with the arts. With a focus on excellence and diversity, the agency aims to promote cultural artistic expressions and increase public appreciation for the arts, benefiting both individuals and communities across the state.

We amplify the gifts from generous donors through wise investment, support others in efforts to enhance our community, and lead and collaborate on initiatives which have a broad impact.

Scholarships

The more than 40 scholarship funds at the Foundation were created by generous donors who wanted to help the students in our community achieve a brighter future. We are committed to assisting the most promising students with scholarships for professional certificate programs, two and four-year undergraduate degrees and graduate school. The scholarship funds at the Foundation award grants to high school, community college and university students to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Gavin “Gee” Hunter Agricultural Scholarship

For a Baldwin County graduating senior or college student pursuing a degree in agriculture or related field at Auburn. Applicants must have 3.5 GPA and at least a 20 ACT score.

Alabama Rural Health Transformation Program - Cancer Digital Regionalization Initiative

Funding is intended to support the implementation of Cancer Digital Regionalization Initiative projects that advance the stated program goals. Depending on the proposed project, funding may support expansion of cancer detection capabilities, establishment and operation of regional screening hubs, deployment of mobile screening units, and community outreach and education to increase awareness and participation in cancer screening. These efforts are intended to strengthen local healthcare delivery systems and improve  the quality, accessibility, and sustainability of cancer screening for rural populations.

All funding under this opportunity is expected to be distributed through a competitive subaward process. Selected applicants will be treated as subrecipients and will be required to comply with all applicable federal, state, and programmatic requirements associated with the award.

The Anchor QEA Scholarship supports graduate students pursuing degrees in engineering, environmental sciences, or related fields, with awards between $1,000 and $10,000. This program emphasizes helping those in financial need, particularly focusing on BIPOC students to address inequities in STEM. Eligible candidates must demonstrate a commitment to community service and possess an inclusive mindset. This initiative reflects Anchor QEA's dedication to fostering a diverse and equitable educational environment.

The Dollar General School Library Relief Grant Program, managed by the Dollar General Literacy Foundation, provides crucial support to K-12 public school libraries that face significant damage due to disasters such as fires or federally recognized acts of terrorism. This grant aims to restore essential library resources, ensuring that affected communities can continue to access vital educational materials and support. Libraries must be within 15 miles of a Dollar General store and meet specific eligibility criteria.

The Honda USA Foundation provides funding to support mobility initiatives that empower individuals, particularly those facing disabilities, by removing barriers and expanding opportunities. Focused on sustainable change in underserved communities, the Foundation encourages applications for programs in education, infrastructure, and technology that align with its commitment to accessibility and inclusion. Eligible organizations must be based in the U.S. with appropriate tax-exempt status and can apply for multiple funding opportunities while adhering to specific eligibility criteria.

ADECA Recreational Trails Program (RTP)

The Recreational Trails Program (RTP) was created in 1998 and is funded through the U.S. Department of Transportation, Federal Highway Administration. The RTP provides grant assistance to State and Federal agencies and local units of government for the acquisition and/or development/improvement of recreational trails and trail related resources. Examples of eligible trail types include but are not limited to walking, jogging, cycling, skating, mountain biking, hiking, backpacking, off-highway vehicle, and equestrian.

The Federal share of the program is up to 80 percent of total project costs up to the grant ceiling associated with the type of trail and/or trail related facility. The project sponsor must provide at least 20 percent match in the form of State, local, or private sources, and may include volunteer labor and/or donated materials and/or services.

Applications may be submitted for the following activities:

• Construction of new recreational trails
• Maintenance and restoration of existing recreational trails
• Development and rehabilitation of trailside and trailhead facilities and trail linkages for recreational trails
• Provision of features which facilitate the access and use of trails by persons with disabilities
• Acquisition of easements and fee simple title to property for recreational trails or recreational trails corridors from willing sellers
• Assessment of trail conditions for accessibility and maintenance

Maximum Grant Size

The maximum grant amount is $200,000 for non-motorized, single-use trail projects; $400,000 for non-motorized, diverse-use trail projects; and $524,937 for motorized, diverse-use trail projects.

The foundation emphasizes animal welfare, parks preservation, veteran support, and youth empowerment. Their mission is to enhance lives through community-focused initiatives that foster resilience, education, and well-being. They prioritize charities that promote responsible pet ownership, outdoor recreation, and provide resources for veterans and youth, ensuring a positive impact across multiple sectors.

Creative Places Arts Facilities (CPAF) - Design Grants

The Creative Places Arts Facilities (CPAF) program assists arts organizations in building, renovating, restoring, or enhancing facilities used for arts activities that benefit Alabamians.

Design grants fund necessary steps to build, renovate, reuse, or restore an arts facility. Results must include tangible designs in the form of blueprints, schematics, renderings, or other documents needed for construction.

Applicants may request up to $75,000; these grants require applicant-funded expenses equal to, or greater than, the amount requested.

The Alabama Law Foundation, a private charitable organization, aims to enhance access to justice in Alabama by providing financial support for law-related projects. They focus on grants for programs that offer free legal aid to low-income individuals, improve the administration of justice, and promote law-related education. With only 16% of low-income residents receiving legal assistance, the foundation plays a critical role in addressing legal needs and fostering community empowerment through their annual grant initiatives.

The Alleghany Foundation, a private 501(c)(3) organization in Virginia, focuses on enhancing the quality of life in the Alleghany Highlands through strategic funding initiatives. It seeks grant applications that address key areas such as economic transformation, educational excellence, health and wellness, community capacity, and civic leadership. By prioritizing innovative projects and supporting local organizations, the Foundation aims to foster sustainable growth and community engagement, ensuring a vibrant future for the region.

CSX Charitable Investments provide essential in-kind donations to nonprofit organizations focused on supporting military members and community first responders. Through intermodal transportation services, CSX offers equipment and rail services to help reduce transportation costs for eligible organizations. The program also includes occasional donations of railroad materials and equipment based on availability. CSX prioritizes support for organizations operating within its service areas, promoting community betterment and development.
