The New Jersey Department of Health, Division of Community Health Services (DCHS), Community Health and Wellness Unit is pleased to release the Request for Applications (RFA) to eligible organizations interested in implementing the Childhood and Adult Asthma Program (CAAP). Eligible applicants are non-profit organizations with a proven track record in community engagement. Grant funds can support cultural festivals with a ceiling of $30,000. Applicants must secure necessary permits and ensure compliance with funding guidelines to successfully participate in this program.

The TD Bank Community Sponsorships Program, supported by the TD Charitable Foundation, provides funding for events and activities that positively impact communities from Maine to Florida. This initiative aims to enhance community awareness and foster partnerships among diverse groups, promoting economic development, cultural enrichment, and social responsibility. Organizations can apply for funding to support community-oriented programs, with applications reviewed quarterly. It's essential to submit applications at least 90 days before the event deadlines.

The Brinker International Charitable Giving Program focuses on giving back to communities through support for kids, hunger, and education. Organizations eligible for funding must be 501c(3) non-profits and submit requests at least six weeks prior to events. The program does not support individuals, political or religious organizations, or explicit discrimination policies. Funding is provided through monetary donations or in-kind contributions like dining certificates.

The OceanFirst Scholarship Program, supported by the OceanFirst Foundation, has awarded over $4.3 million in scholarships to nearly 3,000 students in the past fifteen years. In 2025, $225,000 will be distributed to partner schools including Atlantic Cape Community College and Monmouth University, providing $1,000 to community college students and $2,500 to those at four-year institutions. Each school independently evaluates applications, ensuring fair selection based on their own criteria.

The Secular Distribution Grant supports charitable activities aimed at enhancing community well-being, particularly within 100 miles of Coatesville, PA. The PNC Foundation's Grow Up Great Grant is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for children from birth to age 5. South Jersey Resiliency Fund

Strengthening & Sustaining South Jersey’s Nonprofit Sector

South Jersey nonprofits are vital in fostering equitable and thriving communities for all, yet they are facing unprecedented challenges.

These organizations feed, heal, shelter, educate, inspire, enlighten, and nurture residents across diverse demographics. As demand for their services continues to grow, funding has become more uncertain, impacting their ability to meet community needs fully.

South Jersey nonprofits urgently need support at a time when their role is more crucial than ever.

CFSJ and its partners have established the South Jersey Resiliency Fund to enable individuals and organizations to pool resources to support nonprofits facing increased demands and reduced resources.

Apply to the South Jersey Resiliency Fund – Round Two

Registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations (or those operating with a fiscal sponsor), with an annual operating budget of $1,000,000 or less, that provide services tied directly to the well-being of South Jersey neighbors in Atlantic, Burlington, Camden, Cape May, Cumberland, Gloucester, Ocean and/or Salem counties are eligible to apply for support in this second round. 

The grant application has been designed to request only the necessary information required to award a grant. In addition to basic organizational contact information, applicants will provide a brief overview of the services their organization offers, insight into the cause of the increased demand for them, and an explanation of the intended impact on the South Jersey community they serve.

For this second round, grant awards will be $10,000 and are expected to be expended within 12 months. We anticipate awarding a total of 25 to 30 grants in this round, and all grant recipients must be a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization or partner with one to acquire funding.

For this second funding opportunity, the South Jersey Resiliency Fund’s priority is to provide one-time general operating and program support grants to eligible organizations to support their missions during this time of increased uncertainty and rising demand for services from the communities they serve. Grant funds will be unrestricted and flexible. Grant recipients may use funding to address wide-ranging organizational needs, including, but not limited to, program continuation, organizational capacity building, technology and system upgrades, scenario planning, and other emergent needs.

Due to the anticipated scale of need, these grants are intended to complement the efforts of trusted community partners, grassroots, and community-based organizations. They are not intended to be at a scale to support public institutions strained by increased demand for services and/or decreased government funding.

The JOIN! Grant, part of OceanFirst Foundation's initiative, aims to enhance civic engagement and community connections. This grant supports nonprofits that align with the foundation's funding priorities and demonstrate significant local impact in New Jersey's counties. Eligible organizations can apply for funding to further their work in building social capital, following the inspiration from the documentary "Join or Die" and the book "The Upswing". This program will support evidence-based physical activity, nutrition, and obesity prevention initiatives for rural communities by leveraging partnerships and resources from various sectors (e.g., agriculture, transportation, education, healthcare, parks/recreation, business, housing, and defense/military) to address health disparities related to poor nutrition, physical inactivity, and/or obesity in Atlantic, Cumberland, Salem, Cape May counties. This project aims to address the lack of access to care, nutritious food, and safe spaces for physical activity. Objectives include the following:

• Increased access to evidence-based arthritis management & physical activity;
• Increased access to nutritious foods;
• Increased access to preventive and clinical care;

Program Goals: The Enhancing Rural Cancer Healthcare program aims to implement sustainable policy, systems, and environmental change approaches across the rural areas of 8 Regional Chronic Disease Coalitions to reduce the burden of cancer and other chronic and reproductive diseases. There will also be a focus on supporting/providing cancer survivorship care to residents of rural areas. Residents of the rural areas served by this project will receive culturally specific cancer education, outreach, referrals to appropriate screening services, and survivorship care services. These project efforts may reduce cancer incidence and mortality in rural New Jersey.

• Objective 1.1: Reduce cancer mortality and morbidity in New Jersey rural communities.
• Objective 1.2: Establish PSE change strategies to improve the health and well-being of New Jersey rural communities with relation to cancer primary prevention, early detection, and survivorship.

The purpose of Activity 5.3c- Rural Pharmacy Medication Management Therapy Program is to improve health outcomes in rural communities through Medication Therapy Management (MTM), tobacco cessation services, and chronic disease prevention and management that are not covered by medical insurance. This program aims to address medication adherence/polypharmacy and tobacco use for people with or at risk for chronic conditions, delay disease progression, and support overall well-being, with a particular focus on uninsured and underinsured populations. Programs should address chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, heart disease, and hyperlipidemia, in addition to addressing related risk factors such as tobacco product use. The Rural Health Screening and Education program will increase access to chronic disease screening and education for rural residents and expand awareness of chronic disease risk factors and their health impacts. The Rural Health Screening and Education Program aims to improve chronic disease outcomes among rural residents by providing walk-in and scheduled screenings, transportation, insurance enrollment, SDOH referrals, follow-up care coordination, and enrollment in evidence-based education programs to manage chronic conditions.

Goal: Enhance and expand early detection, prevention, and management of chronic diseases through coordinated screening and education initiatives encouraging proactive engagement in preventive care, healthier behaviors, and improvement in long-term health outcomes among residents

The Presser Foundation, established in 1939, supports music education and philanthropy through capital support grants ranging from $5,000 to $100,000. Eligible organizations include non-profit, 501(c)(3) music education and performance entities located within a 75-mile radius of Philadelphia. Projects funded may include construction, renovation, or equipment purchases. The Foundation prioritizes initiatives that enhance music education while excluding non-music related venues and general operating expenses.

The New Jersey Department of Health is offering the Rural Health Transformation Grant to enhance chronic disease outcomes in rural communities. This funding opportunity focuses on innovative, sustainable strategies to increase healthcare access, address disparities, and strengthen health systems. Proposed activities include youth violence prevention, education, and community outreach, emphasizing collaboration with local organizations. About Community Foundation of South Alabama

Since its inception, the Community Foundation has grown to over 500 funds and awarded over $98 million in grants and scholarships throughout the eight counties of southwest Alabama, improving the lives of many residents in our corner of the world.

Scholarships

The more than 40 scholarship funds at the Foundation were created by generous donors who wanted to help the students in our community achieve a brighter future. We are committed to assisting the most promising students with scholarships for professional certificate programs, two and four-year undergraduate degrees and graduate school. The scholarship funds at the Foundation award grants to high school, community college and university students to be used for tuition, books, and fees.

Michael Malone Memorial Scholarship

For a resident of Baldwin County, AL. Graduate of any accredited high school including public schools, private schools, parochial schools and home schools. The student must be the son or daughter of a parent(s) who is an employed member of a Law Enforcement Agency that operates within Baldwin County or a student who plans to major in a Law Enforcement field, i.e., Forensic Science, Criminal Justice, etc. Students must have academic achievements necessary for entry into an accredited college or university. Students’ need, academic performance and community service will all be considered in the selection process.

The Wake Forest Capacity Building Grant, part of the Educating Character Initiative, aims to enhance character education in U.S. higher education institutions. Established in 2023 with support from Lilly Endowment Inc., the initiative has already provided $35 million in grants to 146 institutions. In 2026, new grants will be awarded to colleges and universities focused on fostering moral, civic, and intellectual character among their faculty, staff, and students.
