Strategic Impact Grants

Nonprofits interested in Strategic Impact Grants should begin by completing a Letter of Interest (LOI). The LOI should provide a brief overview of the organization, the proposed project or initiative, the community need addressed, expected outcomes, alignment with the Foundation’s funding priorities, and the amount of funding requested.

Local Impact Grants

Local Impact Grants offer smaller grants for short-term projects that can move quickly and make a clear community impact. These grants are designed to be simple, accessible, and responsive to nonprofit partners whose work aligns with our Foundation’s funding priorities.

This grant is the best fit for short-term, clearly defined projects or programs with a practical plan and clear community benefit. Projects should generally be completed within 6–9 months.

Requests greater than $5,000 but less than $10,000 should be submitted through the Local Impact Grants application; awards generally will not exceed $5,000. Applicants requesting more than $5,000 should understand that the Foundation may award partial funding.

Nonprofit organizations building pathways out of poverty through education, job training, or workforce readiness in Connecticut can apply for multi-year support, including US $125,000 - US $175,000 annually in unrestricted funding and intensive consulting. Arbor Brothers supports second-stage 501(c)(3) organizations with modest budgets and at least one full-time staff member across the lower 48 states.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations and schools running manufacturing-focused workforce programs in Connecticut can apply for grants from American Honda, with awards ranging from US $25,000 - US $100,000. Funding supports hands-on training in design, data analytics, automation, and AI that strengthens the manufacturing workforce pipeline in communities where Honda associates live and work.

Nonprofit charitable organizations in Connecticut can seek funding for workforce preparation, job readiness, and education programs that build thriving futures. Grants from KeyBank Foundation help support affordable housing, small business growth, financial literacy, and academic and career success initiatives, with awards ranging from US $10,000 - US $25,000 in states where the bank operates.

Connecticut 501(c)(3) nonprofits providing workforce preparation, job readiness, or related community services can seek up to US $25,000 for program, capacity-building, or capital needs. Focus areas for Northwest Community Bank Foundation include employment skills, youth development, women’s empowerment, basic human services, housing, and broader community impact in the bank’s service communities.

Colibrí Fellowship at MIRA

MIRA is pleased to announce the Colibrí Fellowship in partnership with The Resurrection Project. The Fellowship aims to strengthen the capacity of community-based immigration legal services in New England. The opportunity is offered to staff or long-term volunteers of community-based organizations who intend to become DOJ Partially Accredited Representatives.

Program Design

Fellows will participate in intensive training and will receive support with the application to become DOJ Partially Accredited Representatives. Fellows will be expected to spend 10-15 hours a week on coursework and fellowship activities, and participate in all Fellowship components, including the in-person gatherings and two overnight retreats. The Fellowship will run from September 2026 through May 2027.

• Free registration in the Villanova Immigration Studies Training for Advocates program
• Weekly virtual discussion classes and study sessions
• Monthly in-person gatherings in the Greater Boston area with opportunities to be in a community of peers (travel stipend may be available for those traveling more than 90 miles)
• Participation in a launch overnight retreat (September) and a mid-year retreat (January)
• Match with a mentor
• Mentoring and support with the DOJ Recognition and Accreditation application process
• Opportunities to participate in application preparation events (ex: citizenship, screening clinics)
• Access to office hours to receive individualized support with course content and application process

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations with at least three years of operation and $100,000+ budgets can seek funding for workforce preparation, job readiness, and related programs in Connecticut. RBC Foundation USA supports initiatives that build in-demand skills, provide work experiences, and help people bridge education to employment in communities where it has a business presence.

501(c)(3) nonprofits in Connecticut offering workforce development programs such as job training, career education, and career coaching can apply for Citizens Charitable Foundation’s Workforce Development grants. Eligible organizations must pass an online eligibility quiz and focus on program support rather than general operations or capital campaigns.

Nonprofit organizations in Connecticut can seek funding for capital projects, purchases, and programs that include workforce preparation and job readiness initiatives. Connecticut Health and Educational Facilities Authority provides competitive grants of US $5,000 - US $75,000 to educational, healthcare, childcare, cultural, and other eligible not-for-profit entities across the state.

Connecticut workforce and community organizations can access funding for work-based learning and employment subsidy initiatives through the State of Connecticut Office of Workforce Strategy. These grants support job readiness, workforce preparation, and broader economic and community development efforts across the state, aligning with the Governor’s Workforce Council strategic plan.

Connecticut 501(c)(3) nonprofits running workforce preparation, education, or community development programs can seek US $1,000 - US $10,000 to support events and initiatives within Eversource’s service territory. Grants from Eversource Energy Foundation help workforce and job readiness efforts alongside community wellness, clean energy, environmental stewardship, and community engagement priorities.

The Ludcke Foundation

Guidelines

To identify and support charitable endeavors that provide needed resources and services to children and families, with an emphasis on emotional and physical health, education, and social development.

The Foundation devotes its grants to the fields of education, health, and human services. The trustees have a special interest in programs that focus across two or three of the foundation’s areas of interest and in partnering with other donors with similar objectives to enable more ambitious projects.

Current Grantmaking Preferences

Job training for systems involved young people, job training for adults facing significant barriers, and limited support for innovative approaches to helping children in underserved New England communities overcome significant and often overlapping barriers to educational success.

Access to health programs for all ages, and behavioral health services for children and teens in underserved communities or otherwise facing significant barriers.

The Reader’s Digest Partners for Sight Foundation is a philanthropic organization dedicated to improving the lives of individuals who are blind or visually impaired by fostering independence and self-sufficiency. Its mission is to support programs that help people with vision loss lead independent, productive lives, while its vision is an accessible and inclusive world where individuals have the tools, resources, and opportunities to fully participate in society.

The Foundation’s funding priorities focus on supporting nonprofit organizations and initiatives that provide education, training, and rehabilitation services, assistive technology innovations, vision care and access to aids, and capacity building for professionals serving the visually impaired community. Small Discretionary Grants

The Reader’s Digest Partners for Sight Foundation (RDPFS) Track #3 Small Discretionary Grants provide flexible, year-round funding for smaller-scale initiatives that support individuals who are blind or visually impaired. Grant requests are accepted on a rolling basis and awarded at the discretion of the Executive Director. Awards are made until available funds are exhausted, allowing the Foundation to respond to timely or emerging needs.

The Reader’s Digest Partners for Sight Foundation offers Single Program Grants to support impactful programs for individuals who are blind or visually impaired. These grants, ranging from $25,000 to $50,000, prioritize initiatives that enhance independence and service delivery. Eligible organizations must be US 501(c)(3) non-profits, and unsolicited proposals are not accepted. The foundation emphasizes community-based solutions and invites qualified applicants to submit a Letter of Inquiry followed by a full proposal.

Retirees of Regions and its affiliated companies are eligible for the Matching Gift Program for up to 5 years after retirement (the gift date must be within the first 5 years of retirement). Regions will match donations of $25 or more, up to a total of $1,000 per year per retiree.

The Chautauqua Region Community Foundation annually awards more than $2 million in scholarships to students pursuing higher education, job training and certification. The Foundation hosts several different scholarship opportunities throughout the year.

The goal of this grant is to provide workforce development in key manufacturing industries, such as timber, energy, aluminum, steel, digital, and automotive.

SBA is looking for organizations that will provide technical proficiency and essential skills, including operating machinery, quality control, welding, utilizing industrial software, and workplace safety. 

AGC Education and Research Foundation

Thanks to visionary volunteer leadership of AGC industry leaders, the AGC Education and Research Foundation, founded in 1968, has for 50 years made good on its commitment to support the future of our industry through its robust scholarship program and innovative projects.

Workforce Development Scholarship

In 2015, the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and its Build Your Future initiative made a generous contribution to help fund the first Workforce Development scholarships for students pursuing craft and technical programs, allowing 19 applicants to receive the inaugural scholarships. Scholarships are $1,000 per year, renewable for up to two years.

This is the application for the Workforce Development Scholarship. This scholarship is for students pursuing associate degrees, technical training or certificates to enter the construction industry. Solar Energy

All Points North Foundation is focused on finding ways to significantly advance the penetration of solar through education, job training and use of solar electric technologies in the United States.

All Points North Foundation has three priority areas:

Providing solar and workforce development training for Tribal communities to expand and diversify the solar job pipeline.

Working with small- to medium-sized science centers to engage students, families and local communities on the benefits and science behind solar.

Providing solar installations to nonprofit organizations that build high-quality, safe and affordable residential housing, offsetting energy costs and enabling cost savings for households.

The cost of solar has dropped dramatically over the last decade, however the upfront cost of going solar remains a hurdle for most families, communities and nonprofits.

All Points North Foundation does consider funding solar projects outside of these focal areas, but the programs must demonstrate how solar will have a broader impact on local communities (e.g., economic, social or environmental), as well as showcase the potential for replication across the nation.

Target Foundation

At Target Foundation, we envision a world where all families and communities have the resources they need to determine and realize their own joy in life. It’s a reality that is out of reach for far too many families as they struggle for access to economic opportunity, financial stability and the kind of empowerment that lifts up their communities. Community Engagement Funds

Community Engagement Funds (CEF) is a community grant program that empowers Target stores and distribution center leaders to make meaningful, localized giving decisions that meet the needs of the communities where our team members and guests live, work, and thrive.

• Organizations cannot apply for the same program in both grant cycles.
• Organizations are encouraged to apply during the cycle that best aligns with their program timing.
• A maximum of 10 applications is allowed per organization at any time.

CEF will prioritize nonprofit programs and initiatives aligned to its focus areas:

• Thriving Families; Basic needs and youth development..
• Vibrant Neighborhoods: Community vitalization; Community and green spaces.

The EDU Core Research (ECR) program invites proposals for fundamental research in STEM education, focusing on learning environments, broadening participation, and workforce development. The program supports essential research activities for diverse learners, emphasizing long-term knowledge generation. Proposals can request funding up to $2.5 million over 3 to 5 years, depending on the project's scope. Successful proposals will advance foundational knowledge in STEM education, contributing to improved practices in the field.

CAP Foundation History

For over 50 years, the CAP Foundation has granted millions of dollars to support pathology education, research, training, and travel grants, with the purpose to:

Presidential Pathology Scholarship

This scholarship allows the sitting CAP President to personally support educational creativity, expand awareness of pathology, and connect communities through the CAP Foundation’s mission to develop tomorrow’s pathology leaders. This scholarship is established in honor of each sitting CAP President, as a commitment to the CAP Foundation’s efforts to advance the specialty by supporting creative projects that encourage interest in or expand the reach of pathology. Up to two scholarships will be supported each year. Ranging from $500-$1,500 per awardee, to be used toward the selected project(s).

Each year the sitting CAP President will select a focus area to support based on at least one of the CAP Foundation’s Five (5) Pillars. CAP Foundation Five Pillars:

• Global: Expands global pathology access, capacity, training, and equity.
• Future Leaders: Builds pipeline through learning, leadership, mentorship, and awards.
• Ethics, Research, Innovation: Advances ethical practice, discovery, innovation, and diagnostic excellence.
