Adirondack Construction Scholarship

A scholarship established by Adirondack Construction in Vernon to support the future career goals of students pursuing business or construction management.

The Cold Noses Foundation Grant aims to support organizations dedicated to the humane treatment of animals, including domestic pets, wildlife, and farm animals. Grants are available to U.S. non-profits and selected international equivalents with an annual income of $200,000 or less. The foundation emphasizes accountability, requiring detailed financial reporting and adherence to ethical standards. Deadlines for applications vary by region, ensuring timely funding for impactful animal welfare projects.

The Community Enhancement Program, funded by San Diego County, supports local non-profit entities aiming to enhance tourism and economic development. City of Santee

The City of Santee’s evolution from being a small, backcountry village in the late nineteenth century to becoming a diverse and multifaceted modern city is a fascinating and colorful story. From the community’s original founders, George and Jennie Cowles, Hosmer McKoon, and Milton Santee himself, to those who led the incorporation drive toward it becoming a city almost a century later, Santee’s history is filled with people who shared a vision of this community becoming something truly special.

Department of Planning & Building

The Planning & Building Department carries out a variety of functions related to the orderly development of the City. One of its primary tasks is to ensure that current developments comply with the City's General Plan, Municipal Code as well as the California Building Code. 

City of Santee Community Development Block Grant

CDBG is a federal program that provides communities with resources to address a wide range of unique community development needs. The funds are used to develop viable communities by promoting decent housing, a suitable living environment, and expanded economic opportunities, principally for low- and moderate- income persons. Eligibility is determined by household income compared to the median household income in the region, adjusted for household size. The City of Santee submits an application for CDBG funds annually.

CTSGC Faculty-Student Research Grant

To encourage undergraduate student engagement in the research process, NASA CTSGC has created a Student-Faculty Research Grant. This grant will enable undergraduate students to gain meaningful research experience in NASA CTSGC Affiliate research laboratories in areas consistent with the mission of NASA as exemplified by its Mission Directorates. They are Aeronautics Research, Human Exploration and Operations, Science, and Space Technology.

The award will support two undergraduate students (one from a 4-year institution and the other from a community college) with a stipend and provide a small stipend for the faculty advisor. If the research is happening over the summer, the project should span a minimum of 8-weeks in length, where students work full-time on the project. If the project is to be completed during the academic year, students and PI must present a plan to obtain approximately 320 hours of commitment to the project.

Award Information 

Refer to the NASA CTSGC website for the amount and number of awards available each program year. Since this is an institutional award, a subcontract for each lead institution will be executed.

Fund Distribution 

Awarded funds will be made available upon completion and execution of a subaward agreement between the awardee's institution and the University of Hartford. Award funds will be distributed to the recipient institution, which shall administer the award in accordance with its internal policies governing grants and sponsored programs.

Types of Grants We Make

Grants are provided for projects and programs that promote the general welfare and good of the Montecito community. By the terms of its founding documents, the Montecito Community Foundation confines its support to projects located in Montecito which is defined as within the boundaries of the Montecito Fire Protection District, as well as Coast Village Road.

Some of the areas in which we have provided grants are:

• Projects which promote public safety and property protection, such as traffic improvements, fire protection, flood control, and earthquake and disaster preparedness.
• Projects and events which foster the community and spirit of Montecito, such as community celebrations, events honoring individuals or groups for improving our community and events which encourage greater community involvement.
• Activities which inform residents of Montecito on local and other matters, such as public forums on matters of current interest or concern, library resources, and other public resource information services.
• Beautification and improvement of our public roads, parks, local government properties, and other public places.
• Improvement and, occasionally, acquisition of recreational facilities, such as parks, open spaces, beach-side entrances, trail heads, and trails.
• Maintenance and preservation of our community, such as community clean-up days of the roadsides and other public places.
• Assisting local governmental entities with capital projects and other unique needs.

The Tribal Management Grant program is designed to empower tribes and tribal organizations by enabling them to take over functions and services of the Indian Health Service. Under the Public Law 93-638, this initiative aims to enhance their health management capabilities, fostering self-determination and improved healthcare delivery. The Indian Health Service plans to provide between five and sixteen awards to support this vital development in tribal health management.

The Cohen-Tucker Dissertation Fellowship Program, established by ASEEES in 2015, supports doctoral students conducting research in Russian/Soviet historical studies. With a stipend of up to $28,000, it is open to students from all disciplines. A special focus is given to Women's and Gender Studies. Applicants must be doctoral students at US universities, proficient in relevant languages, and able to defend their dissertations during the fellowship tenure. Preference may be given to research on the Soviet era.

The Urban Indian Health Program - Education & Research collaborates with the US Dept. of Health & Human Services to enhance educational and research opportunities for urban Indian populations. This initiative aims to address health disparities and ensure that urban Indians have access to quality health services and information. By partnering with various urban Indian organizations, the program fosters community engagement and empowers individuals through education and research, ultimately improving health outcomes.

The Community Development Block Grant Program for Indian Tribes and Alaska Native Villages aims to foster viable communities by providing funding for decent housing, suitable living environments, and economic opportunities for low- and moderate-income individuals. Notably, the program also includes Imminent Threat Grants to address urgent public health or safety issues. These competitive grants are essential for enhancing community welfare and addressing immediate challenges faced by tribal residents.

The Camp Fire Fund Grant Program, administered by the North Valley Community Foundation, aims to support recovery efforts in the Camp Fire burn scar area. Grants ranging from $500 to $10,000 will be awarded to nonprofits and government agencies addressing the needs of vulnerable community members. The program focuses on projects that enhance health, housing, education, and economic development, ensuring strategic funding while avoiding duplication of existing resources.

RoseLoe-Dix Endowed Scholarship Fund

Attending four-year university, two-year college or trade school in the upcoming semester, majoring in Business, Sciences, Computers, Christian Religion, Literature, Pre-med, Medical Field, or Engineering.

The Ida B. Wells Graduate Student Fellowship, offered by the Coordinating Council for Women in History, provides a $1000 award to graduate students working on dissertations that explore themes of race and gender. This fellowship supports crucial stages of research or writing for students across various disciplines, not limited to history departments. It aims to foster inclusive scholarship and advance the representation of women in historical studies, encouraging emerging scholars to engage with these vital topics.

The SHAPE America: Joy of Effort Award recognizes dedicated individuals who exemplify the spirit of commitment and passion in health and physical education. Awardees are current SHAPE America members with at least three years of membership, demonstrating excellence in teaching, coaching, or leadership. This prestigious award celebrates those who have made significant contributions to the field, inspiring others to lead healthy, active lives through their efforts in education and advocacy.

The Institute of Education Sciences (IES) offers training programs through the National Center for Special Education Research (NCSER) to enhance special education research. For FY 2027, the focus is on Methods Training, particularly on analyzing large datasets related to learners with disabilities. This initiative supports early career researchers and current education researchers in developing rigorous methodologies to address significant educational challenges, aiming to inform policy and practice in special education.

Alliance for Social Trust: Trust in Practice Awards

Trust is the foundation of vibrant, resilient communities and healthy civic life. Across the country, local and national organizations are demonstrating the profound ways trust shapes our collective well-being—strengthening relationships between neighbors, cultivating confidence in institutions, and enabling people to work together to solve shared challenges. These efforts are often rooted in the knowledge and leadership of those closest to the work. 

The Trust in Practice Awards support non-profit organizations that are collaborating on new initiatives to build trust across local or virtual communities. Grantees will be part of a national network dedicated to fostering trust through the Alliance for Social Trust’s programs and storytelling platforms. Award recipients will also participate in the annual Trust in Practice Summit to celebrate the work of trust builders.

The Advanced Technological Education (ATE) program, supported by the National Science Foundation (NSF), focuses on enhancing the education of technicians in high-technology fields through partnerships between two-year institutions, industry, and economic development agencies. This program emphasizes faculty-led projects and credit-bearing courses, aiming to improve science and engineering technician education while also supporting professional development and career pathways for students and incumbent workers.

The Jack and Florence Sitrin Scholarship, established by Joyce Malcolm, supports graduating seniors from Utica, NY, pursuing further education in Mathematics. Administered by Utica Dollars for Scholars, this scholarship aims to empower hard-working students who demonstrate a commitment to their education and community. The Community Foundation of Herkimer and Oneida Counties champions this initiative, ensuring that financial barriers do not hinder talented individuals from achieving their academic and career goals.

Ann and Anthony La Pietra Scholarship

Recipients are chosen based on their efforts and achievements in an area that reflects the lifelong pursuits of Ann and Anthony La Pietra, longtime Marshall residents. These areas include the fine arts, community service and advocacy to support people in need, prevent discrimination, protect the environment and work toward peace and understanding. Applicants should be pursuing studies/majors related to one or more of these areas. Academic success and financial need may be considered but are not necessarily determining factors. Students who receive this scholarship are encouraged to apply for further support in subsequent years. 

The Community Engagement Grant, offered by the First Responders Children's Foundation, aims to strengthen relationships between first responders and youth in their communities. By funding programs that promote mental health, youth education, family support, and emergency assistance, the grant helps foster trust and understanding. This initiative not only benefits first responders and their families but also inspires future generations to consider careers in public service. Together, we can build safer and healthier communities.

The Rachel’s Network Catalyst Award is an impactful initiative aimed at supporting mid-career women of color in environmental leadership. This award provides recipients with a personal grant of $15,000 and, if applicable, an organizational grant of $10,000. It also offers essential leadership services and public recognition, fostering a community of empowered women dedicated to creating a healthier and more just world. The award exemplifies Rachel’s Network’s commitment to environmental advocacy and the promotion of women as leaders.

The RMMLA/Huntington Library Fellowship offers a $3,000 stipend for a one-month residency at the Huntington Library, renowned for its extensive collection in British and American history and literature. This fellowship is open to all RMMLA members, including graduate students and junior faculty. Selection criteria focus on the project's value, relevance to available materials, and the researcher's promise. This opportunity supports scholars in advancing their research in a prestigious environment.

The D. W. Vanderhorst Charitable Trust Scholarship Fund, established by The Columbus Foundation, aims to support high school graduates from the 43204 Zip code pursuing higher education. This fund honors Wayne Vanderhorst's legacy, who dedicated his life to helping others succeed. Scholarships ranging from $1,000 to $4,000 are available for students in public service, engineering, business, and other fields. Preference will be given to students with strong attendance records and financial need.

The Level 2 Housing Opportunity Grants, provided by the National Association of REALTORS®, aim to address affordable housing challenges within communities. With a maximum award of $7,500, these grants encourage collaborations among local agencies to enhance housing access. Eligible activities include forums, expos, and studies that promote housing opportunities. Associations can receive one grant per year, and funds are disbursed via a reimbursement process, with requests due by December 19, 2025.
