Huakaʻi Travel Grants Funding Opportunity

To advance the long-term vision of perpetuating Indigenous knowledge and culture by expanding access to Native Hawaiian cultural experiences, HCF offers the Huaka‘i Travel Grants funding opportunity.

The Huaka‘i Travel Grants will provide up to $5,000 to Hawai‘i-based organizations to bring participants to meaningful opportunities to connect with Indigenous knowledge, cultural practices, or important locations within the state. Examples might include bringing youth in an after-school program to a significant Native Hawaiian cultural place to learn moʻolelo and oli, bringing participants to ʻāina-based activities to learn about traditional mala, or supporting travel for kumu to attend workshops to further their knowledge.

• To increase access to activities and events related to Indigenous knowledge and practices for organizations and individuals that would otherwise experience barriers to attending in person.
• To increase engagement with Indigenous knowledge and practices to the benefit of organizations, individuals, and the broader community.
• To support the perpetuation of Indigenous knowledge and practices.

The Dementia CAReS Grants aim to enhance the lives of American Indian and Alaska Native communities affected by dementia. By providing funding, training, and support, this initiative focuses on developing actionable strategies within Tribal and Urban Indian settings. Key activities include establishing a network of dementia champions and promoting local best practices. The goal is to empower communities to improve dementia care and outcomes through collaborative efforts and innovative approaches.

The Kelly for Kids Community Grants aim to support disadvantaged and disabled youth in Western New York. Founded by former Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, the foundation has distributed nearly $5 million to local children's charities. Grants are awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations focused on health and social services for children in need. The foundation prioritizes innovative programs and equipment improvements, ensuring funds are used effectively to make a significant impact in the community.

Oversight Commission on Alabama Opioid Settlement Fund Grant Program

At the recommendation of the Oversight Commission on Alabama Opioid Settlement Funds, the Legislature has appropriated opioid settlement dollars for ADMH to administer prevention, treatment, and recovery grants. The purpose of this grant program is to prevent, reduce, treat, or mitigate the effects of opioid substance use. To date, the Legislature has appropriated three rounds of grants.

The Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) offers financial support through undergraduate scholarships for up to 100 eligible college students each year. Applicants must be members of PC(USA) pursuing their first associates or bachelor's degree at an accredited institution in the U.S. during the 2025-2026 academic year. This initiative aims to assist students in overcoming financial barriers to education while fostering a commitment to service within their communities.

The PNC Foundation's Grow Up Great Grant is a significant initiative aimed at enhancing educational opportunities for children from birth to age 5. With a commitment of $500 million, this program focuses on improving school readiness through support in vocabulary development, social-emotional learning, and the arts. By partnering with community-based nonprofits, PNC aims to foster stronger, smarter, and healthier communities, ensuring a brighter future for the next generation.

The Agriculture Innovation Center Grant Program aims to support Agriculture Innovation Centers by providing grants that facilitate technical assistance to agricultural producers. This initiative focuses on enhancing the marketing of value-added agricultural products, ultimately fostering growth in the agricultural sector. Funded by the USDA's Rural Business-Cooperative Service, this program is designed to empower producers and promote innovation in agricultural practices.

The Sisters of St. Joseph Health and Wellness Foundation employs a trust-based philanthropy model, fostering collaborative partnerships with organizations in West Virginia dedicated to supporting children's holistic health. This approach emphasizes primary and secondary prevention strategies while promoting systemic change through relationship building and mutual understanding. By prioritizing less restrictive funding and streamlined processes, the foundation seeks to empower organizations that align with its mission to create lasting impact in the community.

Hogg Foundation for Mental Health

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health was established in 1940 at The University of Texas at Austin by the children of Texas Governor James Hogg. For over a quarter of a century, the Hogg Foundation was guided by the passion and insight of the Governor’s daughter, Miss Ima Hogg, who actively promoted the foundation and encouraged its staff to pursue a bold, new vision. Today the Hogg Foundation is based at The University of Texas at Austin Steve Hicks School of Social Work and is funded through an endowment created by gifts from the Hogg family and managed by The University of Texas/Texas A&M Investment Management Company.

The Hogg Foundation is inspired by Ima Hogg’s vision for a Texas that supports and promotes mental health, resilience, and well-being. Miss Ima was ahead of her time in believing that mental health was just as important as physical health. She believed all people should have access to community-based resources to support mental well-being and live fulfilling lives, and she championed supports in everyday environments like schools, workplaces, places of worship, and homes.

Rio Grande Valley Policy Initiative

The Hogg Foundation for Mental Health invites eligible organizations in South Texas, especially those in the Rio Grande Valley (Cameron, Hidalgo, Starr, or Willacy Counties), to submit a proposal to support organizations engaged in local policy work, and to build local organizational capacity to enable sustained, strategic engagement in policy processes that advance mental wellness and address non-medical drivers of health. Each grantee partner will receive a three-year grant, with an award amount of up to $70,000 per year divided equally across the grant term. Each selected organization will have access to additional capacity building support through the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s Nonprofit Resource Center.

• To advance sustainable, community-driven solutions for the RGV and surrounding South Texas counties

The Avant Garde Award supports innovative research on HIV and substance use disorders, encouraging creative scientists to explore high-risk, high-reward approaches. While applications are not currently being accepted, this initiative by the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA) aims to stimulate collaborations and impactful research. Early-stage investigators are particularly encouraged to consider this opportunity as they develop their proposals for future funding. The program uses the DP1 activity code, fostering transformative advancements in biomedical and behavioral science.

The Mielke Family Foundation Grant supports innovative educational initiatives that enhance the lives of individuals in the Appleton and Shawano areas, focusing on health care, arts, and intergenerational programs. Established in 1963, the foundation prioritizes projects that reflect community demographics and foster collaboration. Grants are awarded annually through a responsive cycle, emphasizing proposals that engage local individuals, particularly in the fields of youth development and aging. The foundation actively seeks to empower its communities through education and creativity.

The Prospera Foundation Grant aims to positively impact local communities through financial literacy, sustainable housing, and poverty alleviation. This private funder, associated with the Community Foundation for the Fox Valley Region, prioritizes support for tax-exempt organizations dedicated to enhancing quality of life and promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion. By collaborating with nonprofits aligned with these values, the grant seeks to empower individuals and foster prosperous communities.

Youth Workforce Development Services Responding to Identified Service Needs and Gaps 

Scope of Work

SDWP seeks to procure subrecipients addressing youth services of need by service gaps to provide the following services:

• Youth Services; serving out-of-school ages 16-24 and in-school ages 14-21.
• Work to support populations that, under WIOA Guidelines, have barriers to employment.
• Provide continuing services to former youth participants who are currently active or in follow-up from previously funded Subrecipients from the last procurement. Follow-up services will need to be provided for a period of up to 12 months.
• The funded subrecipients must provide services at accessible sites and times within their region that take into consideration the hours and days of operation that meet the needs of youth participants. 

Pershing Square Lotus Award for Ovarian Cancer Research

The Pershing Square Foundation (PSF) has worked across sectors to catalyze innovative approaches to the most difficult problems. Talented individuals have always been at the center of our approach. We aim to support leaders who transform systems, embrace new paradigms, and have an innate drive to make an impact.

PSF has funded pioneering cancer researchers through the Pershing Square Sohn Cancer Research Alliance for over a decade and supported women’s health initiatives in New York City. Through this Request for Proposals (RFP), PSF aims to combine these two priority areas of women’s health and cancer to shine a light on one of the most understudied and underfunded cancers—ovarian cancer. Ovarian cancer is the deadliest gynecologic cancer, with 80% of women diagnosed at an advanced stage. Only 27% of women diagnosed during an advanced stage survive for five years. Ovarian cancer remains a disease with a poor prognosis due to limited early detection and treatment options.

PSF supports research efforts by 

• deploying capital quickly, 
• funding high-risk, high-reward ideas, 
• bringing new perspectives into a field, 
• encouraging collaboration, and 
• leveraging our vast network. We challenge our scientific partners to think creatively and across silos, to spur innovation to fight ovarian cancer.

Through the Pershing Square Lotus Award for Ovarian Cancer Research, PSF is looking for investigators who are either already working on a promising project in ovarian cancer or in another type of cancer that could have an impact on ovarian cancer. Grantees each receive $250,000 a year for three years, totaling $750,000.

Researchers who are not studying ovarian cancer are encouraged to apply and required to find a collaborator with experience in ovarian cancer research.

This award aims to 

• inspire investigators with unique expertise to apply their knowledge to ovarian cancer and 
• empower ovarian cancer researchers to pursue their boldest, most innovative ideas. Facing a disease where too few have survived to-date, PSF ultimately aims to create a culture around ovarian cancer that offers women hope, akin to the breast cancer community. PSF is passionate about changing outcomes for tens of thousands of women a year and is hopeful that future scientific discoveries will allow for more survivors who can share their stories for years to come.

The Ohio Developmental Disabilities Council aims to enhance transportation opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities through funded projects. By expanding access to transportation, the council seeks to empower individuals with I/IDD to achieve independence and improve their quality of life. Two projects may receive $50,000 annually for five years, supporting diverse entities in Ohio. This initiative aligns with the council's mission to foster inclusion and community involvement for people with disabilities.

The Sonoma County Fish and Wildlife Commission Grant Program provides funding for projects aimed at enhancing the conservation, protection, and propagation of fish and wildlife in Sonoma County. Governed by California Fish and Wildlife Code Section 13100, the program supports various activities including habitat improvement, public education, and scientific research. Grants are evaluated based on their significance, conservation impact, and educational value. The program underscores the importance of adhering to state prevailing wage laws for funded projects.

Department of Energy and Environment

The Department of Energy and Environment (DOEE) is the leading authority on energy and environmental issues affecting the District of Columbia. Using a combination of regulations, outreach, education, and incentives, our agency administers programs and services to fulfill our mission. We work collaboratively with other government agencies, residents, businesses, and institutions to promote environmentally responsible behavior that will lead to a more sustainable urban environment.

Lead Poisoning Prevention Outreach for Expectant and New Parents 

Purpose of the Grant

The purpose of this grant is to provide education and outreach activities focused on lead poisoning prevention to the expectant parent and new parent communities in Washington, DC. Expectant and new parents are an ideal community for lead poisoning prevention work because children age 0-6 face a particularly high risk of harm from lead poisoning.

The Floodplains by Design Grants program aims to enhance community resilience to flooding and restore vital habitats in Washington's river corridors. This initiative, led by the Washington Department of Ecology and various partners, supports projects that mitigate flood risks while preserving agriculture and promoting outdoor recreation. Eligible applicants include local governments and nonprofits, focusing on integrated floodplain management to address climate impacts and ensure sustainable development.

Lawson Family Foundation

The Lawson Family Foundation was established by Phil Lawson in 2020 to serve as a catalyst for the development of a more healthy, prosperous, and inclusive Knoxville community. As a private grantmaking foundation, the Lawson Family Foundation focuses support on organizations involved in the areas of Justice & Economic Mobility, Education & Youth Development, Prevention of Exploitation & Violence, and Community Health & Food Security.

Lawson Family Foundation Education & Youth Development Grant

Education is foundational to long-term success and thriving communities. Yet many children in the Knoxville area face disparities in access to quality education, supportive environments, and essential resources—including children with physical, mental, intellectual, and learning disabilities, as well as those from historically underserved communities.

The Foundation invests in efforts that strengthen early childhood development, improve literacy, and expand pathways to college and career. We support programs such as after-school enrichment, mentorship, and family-centered initiatives, with an emphasis on inclusive approaches that ensure all children—regardless of ability or background—have access to the tools, support, and opportunities needed to reach their full potential.

The Mosaic Opioid Recovery Municipal Matching Grant aims to distribute $3.75 million to municipalities in Massachusetts over three years, supporting initiatives to address the opioid crisis. Funded by RIZE, the program matches municipal opioid settlement funds to enhance community efforts in prevention, harm reduction, and recovery services. Eligible projects can receive up to $50,000 individually or $150,000 through collaborative efforts, fostering partnerships among municipalities and nonprofit organizations to improve public health outcomes.

Lawson Family Foundation Community Health & Food Security Grant

Access to basic healthcare and nutritious food is essential for individual well-being and community resilience. However, many families in the Knoxville area lack access to healthy food, preventative care, and wellness resources—contributing to persistent physical and mental health disparities, particularly in historically underserved communities.

The Foundation supports programs that expand access to nutritious food, promote healthy lifestyles, and strengthen community-based health resources. 

The CSF Capacity Building initiative aims to enhance the capabilities of organizations supporting children's mental health in Jackson County, Missouri. With over 165,000 children under 18, the program addresses a significant funding gap of $21M for children's services. It focuses on improving internal strategies, financial management, and staff development to deliver impactful services. By fostering collaboration and community equity, CSF ensures that all applicants, including smaller organizations, have access to necessary resources and support.

The NCAA Postgraduate Scholarship for Fall Sports offers up to 126 scholarships annually, valued at $10,000 each, to student-athletes who excel academically and athletically. Eligible candidates must be in their final year of intercollegiate competition and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.20. Scholarships are awarded three times a year, with 21 available for men and 21 for women across various sports. This initiative promotes graduate education and recognizes the achievements of outstanding student-athletes.

The AWWA Scholarship Program, specifically the Charles 'Chick' Roberts Scholarship, offers $5,000 to a Pennsylvania student pursuing studies in water technologies. This initiative by the American Water Works Association underscores the importance of nurturing future professionals in the water industry. AWWA, the largest organization for water supply experts, is dedicated to supporting students who aim to make significant contributions to this vital field.

The Title III, Part A Web-based Resource Initiative Grant, administered by the Texas Education Agency, aims to enhance resources for emergent bilingual and immigrant students. This initiative will support professional development for local educational agency staff by providing interactive web-based guidance and resource tools. It is designed to strengthen program implementation and improve language development, ensuring better educational outcomes for over 5 million students in Texas.

The Children's Fund, Inc. is a volunteer-driven organization that raises funds to support children's charities in the Houston area. Grants typically range from $20,000 to $25,000, targeting specific needs such as equipment or training rather than general operating expenses. The Fund prioritizes charities with small budgets, limited fundraising capabilities, and minimal exposure to larger organizations, ensuring that their contributions significantly impact local children's health and welfare.
