Tobacco-Related Disease Research Program

A portion of California's tobacco product excise taxes are used to fund research grants. These grants are administered by TRDRP.

As one of three state agencies that work together towards a tobacco-free California, we aim to eliminate commercial tobacco use and tobacco-related diseases and to improve the health and well-being of all Californians. TRDRP works with the California Department of Public Health and Department of Education under the guidance of the Tobacco Education and Research Oversight Committee to ensure collaboration across all sectors of California's tobacco control community.

TRDRP is administered by the Research Grants Program Office (RGPO) at the University of California, Office of the President.

Student Research Award Supplement

Purpose

Student Research Award Supplement (SRAS) are intended to foster undergraduate and master’s student research and allow active research training and mentoring by providing supplemental funding to existing TRDRP awards, in order to bring new workforce into the stated TRDRP research priority areas.  

Summary:

• Maximum supplement amount per year: $20,000 (direct costs).
• Duration: 1 or 2 years
• Supplement funds are provided in addition to the parent grant award cap.

Citizens Energy Group Philanthropic Partnerships aims to support organizations that provide significant value to the community while aligning with environmental, business, and community sustainability goals. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) nonprofits serving the Greater Indianapolis area, committed to non-discrimination, and have a history of impactful community contributions.

The Bradley Henry Barnes and Leila Upson Barnes Memorial Trust Grant supports health and well-being initiatives for Southington residents through 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations. Grants typically range from $25,000 to $100,000, with funding priorities including healthcare for the aging population, mental health, and access to healthy food. Organizations must demonstrate a connection to Southington and adhere to eligibility criteria. Funding requests are accepted biannually, ensuring collaborative community efforts.

In the current cycle, $250,000 will be awarded across 20 grants to eligible nonprofit organizations operating within the Central Texas region, enhancing individual and community prosperity.

The Roger W. and Mary C. Lyons Memorial Trust Grant supports charitable organizations dedicated to aiding underprivileged children in Wisconsin. This grant focuses on health and medical research, as well as human and social services. To be eligible, organizations must be classified as 501(c)(3) nonprofits by the IRS. Notably, individuals cannot apply for this grant, ensuring that funding is directed solely towards established charitable entities.

Who is OCVA?

The Office of Crime Victims Advocacy (OCVA) is housed within the Department of Commerce. OCVA serves as a voice within government for the needs of crime victims in Washington State. Established in 1990, OCVA serves the state by:

• Advocating on behalf of victims obtaining needed services and resources.
• Administering grant funds for community programs working with crime victims.
• Assisting communities in planning and implementing services for crime victims.
• Advising local and state government agencies of practices, policies, and priorities that impact crime victims.

OCVA’s Telemedical Forensic Examination (TFE) Grants

What is this application for?

The purpose of this application is to implement and administer a statewide program to provide Telemedical Forensic Examination support and survivor advocacy to increase access to medical forensic exam services across the state, particularly in rural and underserved areas. This funding is available through the Unmet Needs portion of the VOCA Plan.

For this initiative, eligible applicants are organizations in Washington State that are able to provide telemedical examination and advocacy services to hospitals and clinics across the state.

What can these funds be used for?

Services provided with this funding must be available to hospitals serving child, adolescent, and adult victims of sexual and/or physical abuse and/or assault. Applicants must provide both telemedical support to hospitals and tele-advocacy support to survivors, either through their own program or partnership with another.

Forward Turn is a youth-led grantmaking program aimed at enhancing community giving in Loudoun and Fauquier Counties. It empowers young individuals to address critical issues such as substance abuse, bullying, and mental health. Funded by the Community Foundation, it encourages projects that promote collaboration and resource leveraging among youth, nonprofits, and local organizations. With a focus on impactful initiatives, Forward Turn prioritizes proposals that are written by youth to foster community involvement and positive lifestyles.

The Community Experts Fund Grant, provided by the Peter & Elizabeth C. Tower Foundation, aims to improve the lives of young people facing mental health and developmental challenges in targeted counties. With $350,000 available in 2025, the fund emphasizes mentoring initiatives that empower youth-driven goals. By strengthening existing programs, it seeks to build capacity and support young individuals through quality one-on-one mentoring, distinct from traditional case management, addressing the pressing needs of this vulnerable population.

The Sidney J. Harris Trust Grant supports organizations in Middlesex County, New Jersey, focusing on services for senior citizens, children's health and education, and public health projects. Established in memory of Mr. Harris, the trust has been providing grants since 1988, typically ranging from $10,000 to $20,000. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations located in Middlesex County and cater to specific community needs.

The Muckleshoot Charity Fund supports community organizations in Washington, offering grants between $1,500 and $5,000. Priorities include education, health services, culture, and advocacy for communities of color and Native American programs. Applications are accepted year-round, reviewed quarterly, and funds are sourced from Muckleshoot Casino profits. Eligible applicants must be non-profits or government agencies addressing identified community needs, ensuring impactful contributions without exceeding one grant per year.

The HEAL Initiative's Career Development Awards aim to empower early career researchers and clinicians in implementation science. By providing training and funding, this initiative seeks to address substance use prevention and treatment through research projects that align with the HHS Overdose Prevention Strategy. Focused on vital areas such as opioid prescribing, OUD treatment, and recovery support, the program aspires to cultivate a new generation of experts who will significantly impact addiction clinical practices and mentorship.

The Indiana Court Alcohol & Drug Grant Program, administered by the Indiana Office of Court Services, aims to enhance the effectiveness of Court-Administered Alcohol and Drug Programs throughout Indiana. 2027 Tribal Nation-based Crime Victim Services

Request for proposals (RFP)

The purpose of this Request for Proposals (RFP) is to solicit applications for funding to provide crime victim services on Tribal Nation lands in Minnesota. Funded grantees are expected to be a resource for their Tribal community and provide crime victim services as detailed in the Program Standards (see Section 2.1 of RFP) under which they are funded.

The Measurement and Evaluation Graduate Student Award, offered by SHAPE America, aims to support graduate students specializing in psychomotor measurement and evaluation. This scholarship assists with professional expenses, ensuring candidates can focus on their studies. Eligible applicants must be current SHAPE America members and pursuing relevant master's or doctoral degrees. The award prioritizes those who have completed their first year of study, promoting excellence in health and physical education across the U.S.

The Agency provides financing through the sale of tax-exempt bonds and management of federal tax credit programs, the federal HOME Program, the state and national Housing Trust Funds, and other programs.

NC Urgent Repair Program

The North Carolina Housing Finance Agency (the Agency) proposes to make funds available for the 2026–2027 Urgent Repair Program (URP27). Program funding enables recipient organizations to provide deferred, forgiven loans of up to $15,000 for emergency home repairs and modifications to very low-income owner-occupied homes. Eligible households are those with one or more full-time household members with special needs (e.g., elderly, disabled and/or veteran full-time household members or a child six years of age or under living in the home with lead hazards). Household incomes cannot exceed 50% of area median income.   

The maximum funding amount is $330,000 for projects serving two or more counties in their entirety, and $165,000 for projects serving a single county. The minimum funding allocation is $99,000. 

The SAF National Awards Program recognizes exceptional student leaders in forestry. The Student Leadership Award honors an SAF student member demonstrating leadership skills at various levels. Recipients receive a $200 honorarium, complimentary convention registration, and up to $500 for travel expenses. Additionally, the recipient's faculty advisor and SAF Student Chapter benefit from $150 each. This award aims to encourage student engagement and excellence in sustainable forestry and resource management.

The Carl Alwin Schenck Award, presented by the Society of American Foresters, honors exemplary contributions in forestry education. This prestigious award recognizes individuals with at least ten years of professional experience who demonstrate outstanding teaching abilities and commitment to forestry. Awardees receive a $500 honorarium, complimentary registration for the SAF national convention, and up to $500 for travel expenses. This award underlines the importance of effective education in advancing sustainable forestry practices.

The BCBSND Health Innovation Grants support innovative projects aimed at improving health outcomes in North Dakota. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits, municipal entities, or school systems. Projects may focus on expanding access to fresh foods, behavioral health services, or recovery education programs. The grants are not intended for existing programs or operational costs, and restrictions apply to funding for employee positions and capital campaigns. Successful proposals should demonstrate replicable models for community health improvement.

The Environmental Action: Equitable Access to Land, Water and Air Grants by the Pittsburgh Foundation aim to support community-centered projects that enhance access to natural resources and promote environmental justice. The program prioritizes initiatives that engage local communities in decision-making, address climate change impacts, and improve public health. Grants typically range from $10,000 to $150,000, emphasizing sustainable stewardship and equitable access to greenspaces for underserved populations in Allegheny County and surrounding regions.

The NASPGHAN Foundation Abbott Advanced Fellowship in Pediatric Nutrition offers up to $75,000 for one year of advanced training in pediatric nutrition for members of NASPGHAN. This fellowship aims to enhance pediatric nutrition expertise by supporting a well-defined clinical experience and focused research project. Eligible applicants must be MDs or DOs and members in good standing, with a preference for those seeking training at different institutions. This initiative addresses the increasing importance of pediatric nutrition in child health.

The Agricultural Conservation Easement Program (ACEP) offers Agricultural Land Easements (ALE) to safeguard the agricultural productivity and conservation values of eligible lands. By limiting non-agricultural uses, ACEP ensures the preservation of croplands and grasslands on working farms. The program provides financial assistance to partners for purchasing easements and prioritizes applications that enhance agricultural uses. ALE easements also promote local partnerships, contributing to environmental quality, historic preservation, and wildlife habitat protection.

The Sonoma County Fish and Wildlife Commission Grant Program provides funding for projects aimed at enhancing the conservation, protection, and propagation of fish and wildlife in Sonoma County. Governed by California Fish and Wildlife Code Section 13100, the program supports various activities including habitat improvement, public education, and scientific research. Grants are evaluated based on their significance, conservation impact, and educational value. The program underscores the importance of adhering to state prevailing wage laws for funded projects.

Trinity County Summer Youth Program

For the past 20 years Trinity Trust has been committed to supporting programs that provide opportunities for children and youth to learn, play and develop in a safe, productive setting. Grants will be awarded to non-profit organizations serving Trinity County youth for programs offered between June 1 and September 1.

Average Grant Size: The average grant awarded will be $500. However, we recognize that some Summer Programs have special needs, and will consider applications of over $500 in some circumstances.

Grant resources are limited, so we ask that you apply for only what is sincerely needed. This funding is stretched to meet the needs of an enormous number of extremely valuable Summer Programs in Trinity County, and we want to provide support to as many programs as possible.
