About The Scholarship

The world is not on track to achieve gender equality by 2030. The slow rate of progress is compounded by health and rights disparities that impact women and girls’ opportunities across a broad range of other areas. Women disproportionately suffer from certain mental disorders and are more frequently subject to social issues that lead to mental illness and psychosocial distress. Nearly half of married women lack decision-making power of their sexual health and rights. 1 in 5 young women are married before their 18th birthday and at the current rate of progress it will take 300 years to end child marriage.

Now in its second year, the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship was created to empower young leaders who are committed to addressing the urgent and deeply interconnected challenges facing women and girls today. The scholarship equips emerging changemakers with the tools, knowledge, and global platform they need to lead transformative action. By supporting passionate young leaders who are tackling issues like child marriage, gender-based violence, and mental health disparities, the Hauwa Ojeifo Scholarship aims to foster a new generation of empathetic, courageous, and visionary leaders working toward a more just, inclusive, and equitable world for all.

Hauwa Ojeifo Scholars will receive:

• Access to participate in the One Young World Summit 2026 which takes place in Cape Town, South Africa from 3 - 6 November.
• Lifelong membership of the One Young World Ambassador Community.

• Opportunity to apply for grant funding of up to $25,000 USD.
• Hotel accommodation for the duration of the One Young World Summit.
• Return travel from your country of residence to Cape Town (flights in economy).

• Transport between the Summit accommodation and the Summit venue

The Chicago White Sox Grant aims to improve the lives of Chicago's underserved communities through funding for programs in child abuse prevention, health and wellness, youth education, and cancer research. With over $47 million distributed, the grant seeks qualified nonprofit organizations that demonstrate strong financial health and impactful outcomes. Interested parties should prepare for the 2027 grant cycle, as inquiries for the 2026 cycle are no longer accepted, with reviews starting in June 2026.

The NH Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program provides essential funding to improve public facilities and support affordable housing initiatives across New Hampshire. Administered by the Community Development Finance Authority, the grants aim to enhance economic opportunities and meet the needs of low- and moderate-income residents. Key focus areas include financing for municipal infrastructure, water and sewer improvements, and housing rehabilitation projects, ensuring community revitalization and support for vulnerable populations.

The CDBG Construction Grants - Stormwater Improvements Program supports rural communities in Indiana by providing funding for stormwater management improvements. This program aims to mitigate flooding and enhance community resilience through necessary infrastructure upgrades. With a focus on sustainable practices, the grants encourage the use of green infrastructure to protect waterways. A 10% match of total project costs is required. Two application cycles are held annually, streamlining access to essential resources for community development.

The Gloria Barron Wilderness Society Scholarship encourages graduate students to contribute to wilderness protection, honoring Gloria Barron's legacy. The Wilderness Society prioritizes projects addressing climate change and equitable access to public lands. Applicants must be enrolled in a U.S. graduate program, possess strong academic qualifications, and focus on long-term wilderness conservation. Research proposals on biodiversity, climate adaptation, and social-ecological contexts are particularly welcome, aiming for inclusive and impactful conservation efforts.

Housing Opportunities for People Living with HIV/AIDS

Funding Opportunity Description:

This funding opportunity is to support rental assistance and housing-related supportive services for eligible District and Maryland residents living with HIV through the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS program.

Overview

The mission of DC Health is to promote and protect the health, safety, and quality of life of residents, visitors, and those doing business in the District of Columbia. The agency is responsible for identifying health risks; educating the public; preventing and controlling diseases, injuries, and exposure to environmental hazards; promoting effective community collaborations; and optimizing equitable access to community resources.

The mission of HAHSTA is to protect and improve the health of District residents by preventing, diagnosing, treating, and reducing the transmission of HIV, viral hepatitis, sexually transmitted diseases, and tuberculosis, while ensuring access to high-quality, coordinated, and culturally responsive care and support services for individuals and communities most impacted by these conditions.

The mission of the Capacity Building, Housing and Community Partnership Division (CBHCP) is to strengthen the HIV service delivery system by expanding access to stable housing, enhancing organizational and workforce capacity, and fostering strategic community partnerships that improve health outcomes, promote service coordination, and address structural barriers impacting people living with HIV in the District of Columbia.

The mission of the Housing Opportunities for Persons with AIDS (HOPWA) program is to provide stable, affordable housing and housing-related supportive services for low-income individuals living with HIV and their households, recognizing housing stability as essential to improved health outcomes, sustained engagement in care, and overall well-being.

Purpose

The purpose of this funding is to support the delivery of HOPWA-funded housing assistance and housing-related supportive services for eligible District and Maryland residents living with HIV and their households. Funding is intended to prevent homelessness, reduce housing instability, and promote long-term housing stability through time-limited and facility-based housing interventions, coordinated supportive services, and intensive case management.

Funds awarded under this opportunity will be used to implement HOPWA-allowable activities that support housing stability, improve continuity of care, and advance health outcomes, in alignment with federal HOPWA requirements and DC Health program priorities.

The Arkansas Community Foundation is offering the Access to Local Foods Grants, aimed at enhancing local food access in Arkansas. This competitive grant program will award eight grants of $15,000 each to projects that support minority specialty crop farmers, innovative aggregation strategies, and collaboration within the local food ecosystem. Eligible applicants include 501c3 public charities and organizations with significant operations in Arkansas, focusing on community food access and overcoming barriers in local food production.

The Forest Conservation Program, initiated in 2006, aims to enhance California's native forests through conservation, restoration, and management. Funded by Proposition 84 and 68, it supports diverse projects such as meadow restoration and post-fire recovery. The program seeks to improve ecological integrity and economic stability while addressing water resource conservation and wildfire mitigation. This initiative aligns with the Board's strategic goals, ensuring long-term sustainability and protection of vital forest ecosystems.

The SMSNA Scholars in Sexuality Research Grants Program supports junior investigators in the field of human sexuality and sexual wellness. With a funding of $7,500, the program aims to attract emerging researchers and clinicians to sexual medicine. Applications are accepted from graduate students, residents, and post-doctoral fellows, with an emphasis on diverse backgrounds. The program promotes ethical research practices and requires mid-term and final progress reports to ensure accountability.

The Universal Leaf Foundation Grants support 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations primarily in areas where Universal Leaf Tobacco Company operates. Focus areas include education for at-risk individuals, higher education, civic/community arts, and environmental initiatives. The Foundation emphasizes good corporate citizenship and community engagement through financial support and employee volunteerism. Organizations must operate within designated geographic areas and cannot be involved in political advocacy or restrict services based on demographics. Grants aim to enhance community well-being and educational opportunities.

The NOAA Digital Coast and Coastal Management Fellowship offers postgraduate students hands-on experience in coastal resource management. Established in 1996 and expanded in 2012, the program matches candidates with state coastal management programs and Digital Coast partners. Each year, up to six fellows are placed in coastal programs, while three fellows are placed in partner organizations. The fellowship provides a competitive salary, benefits, and reimbursement for professional development and travel, aiming to strengthen the next generation of coastal managers.

The Community Foundation of Yavapai Grant, managed by the Arizona Community Foundation, supports nonprofit organizations in Yavapai County. Grants ranging from $1,000 to $20,000 are available to 501(c)(3) organizations, schools, and tribal entities that benefit the local community in various fields, including animal welfare, children’s services, environmental initiatives, and healthcare. Applicants must comply with non-discrimination policies and ensure their projects serve residents within the county.

The Head, Heart and Hands of Indian River Club Grant, supported by the Indian River Community Foundation, aims to fund impactful projects in education, youth activities, health, and more within Indian River County. Eligible 501(c)(3) organizations can apply for grants to develop new programs, support existing ones, or expand initiatives. This grant emphasizes community needs, promoting social welfare without political or religious objectives, ensuring that funding is directed toward meaningful change.

The Hugh J. Andersen Foundation Grant supports community-focused initiatives aimed at enhancing inclusivity and self-sufficiency within the St. Croix Valley. The foundation prioritizes asset-based programs led by the communities they serve, particularly those benefiting children, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Organizations must be tax-exempt under IRS 501(c)(3) and located in designated counties. The foundation does not fund individual scholarships or loans, lobbying, or fiscal agents, aiming for collaborative funding efforts.

The CFDC Community Impact Grants aim to enhance the quality of life in Dunn County by supporting nonprofit organizations and community groups. These grants focus on various areas, including health, education, culture, and civic initiatives, providing funds for projects that address community needs. The foundation prioritizes innovative programs that serve a broad audience and demonstrate sustainability. By fostering collaboration, these grants help enrich the lives of local residents and promote long-term community benefits.

The North East Community Foundation Grant aims to enhance the quality of life in North East, Pennsylvania, by supporting charitable organizations through funding. Focused on youth activities, the foundation encourages applications for tangible projects with a significant impact. Eligible organizations must typically be tax-exempt under Section 501(c)(3), but fiscal agents can assist those without this designation. Past funding has supported education, health, and community enrichment initiatives.

The International Foundation Grant is aimed at U.S.-based non-profit organizations working in developing countries to enhance health, education, and income levels for impoverished communities. While currently not accepting new applications, the foundation reviews proposals from previously invited organizations. The focus lies on holistic, community-driven projects in sectors such as agriculture, education, environment, and health. Partnerships with local entities are encouraged to ensure sustainable and impactful outcomes.

The Sarah G. McCarthy Memorial Foundation Grant supports charitable organizations in Peabody, MA, focusing on education, housing, agriculture, food, health, and historical research. Grants range from $2,000 to $15,000, with a maximum duration of five years. The foundation prioritizes collaborative efforts and quantifiable impact on the community. General operating support and specific capital improvements are eligible, while endowment campaigns and event sponsorships are not funded.

The Madison Visionary Partners Community Impact Mini-Grant supports local nonprofits seeking to enhance quality of life in Madison, Alabama. Grants between $500 and $2500 are available for projects in areas such as animal welfare, arts, education, health, and housing. Eligible organizations must demonstrate a direct impact and be based in Madison County. Ineligible requests include administrative operations, fundraising events, and religious programs. This initiative aims to foster community development and support local needs.

The Westly Prize, awarded by the Westly Foundation, supports young social innovators in California with innovative solutions to community challenges. Since 2012, the prize has provided up to $145,000 in unrestricted funding to finalists, encouraging creativity in categories such as AI, education, and health. The program seeks applicants under 28 years old who demonstrate strong leadership and impactful solutions, fostering a culture of growth and innovation.

The SMSNA Scholars in Sexuality Research Grants Program supports junior investigators in exploring human sexuality and sexual wellness. Funded by the Sexual Medicine Society of North America, this initiative provides $5,000 to undergraduate, medical, and graduate school students. Awards are disbursed in two payments, with specific reporting requirements. This program aims to enhance research in sexual medicine and foster diversity in the field, particularly focusing on historically underserved populations.

The Impact 100 Chicago Grant provides $100,000 annually to local nonprofits addressing critical social issues in Chicago. This initiative supports high-impact projects and programs, encouraging organizations to apply by selecting a primary focus area such as culture, education, family, health, or sustainability. The grant cycle runs from September to May, with eligibility requiring 501(c)(3) status, operational presence in Chicago, and compliance with financial reporting. Unrestricted funds can be utilized for various organizational needs.

The James E. Dutton Foundation provides financial support to organizations dedicated to wildlife, environmental preservation, and outdoor education. With a focus on positively impacting animal life and enhancing human experiences in nature, the foundation honors Jim Dutton's legacy by funding diverse projects. This includes aiding distressed animals, promoting conservation education, and encouraging stewardship of natural resources. The foundation primarily supports initiatives in Wisconsin and the Midwest, aiming for lasting benefits to both wildlife and communities.

The Lake County Community Foundation asserts that the quality of life of Lake County can be improved through an earnest effort to bring organizations, government, businesses, corporations and civic leaders together to establish a common vision, adopt a shared set of measurable goals and pursue evidence-based activities that reinforce one another’s objectives as a means of addressing the most pressing needs of our community.

The Foundation envisions a county-wide health and human services delivery system that is robust and thriving with a network of providers capable of achieving the greatest impact on the urgent needs of the most vulnerable residents of the county.

The Foundation’s approach combines strategic community leadership with intentional organizational investment—ultimately leading to a more streamlined coordination of countywide efforts.

Nonprofit Capacity Building Priority Area Grants

The Lake County Community Foundation (LCCF) is relaunching its Capacity Building priority area for Spring 2026 to support nonprofits in strengthening their internal operations and organizational effectiveness. This funding is designed to enhance nonprofit sustainability, efficiency, and long-term growth so organizations are better equipped to serve the community. Capacity Building grants support one-time organizational costs and expenses; recurring salaries, fees, or ongoing operational costs are not eligible. Organizations that receive a Capacity Building grant may still apply for and receive funding under LCCF’s Growing Communities priority area, as participation in one does not preclude funding from the other.

The Montclair Fund for Women Grant supports innovative programs aimed at achieving educational success and social justice, particularly for women and girls of color in Montclair and North Essex. The fund prioritizes direct service work, community change, and projects that combat systemic racism and economic inequality. Additionally, it focuses on enriching educational opportunities for economically disadvantaged students. In 2025, the fund will consider multi-year grant applications, emphasizing community-driven change and empowerment.

The General Operating Support for Artists program offers unrestricted grants of $6,000 annually for three years to three artists in Rhode Island, allowing them to pursue significant self-identified artistic goals. This initiative fosters a supportive community with learning opportunities tailored to grantees' needs. Eligibility includes being 18 or older, a practicing artist, and a legal resident of the U.S. with a tax ID. Importantly, capital projects and fundraising expenses are not covered.

The Colorado Garden Foundation offers a Full Ride Scholarship for incoming freshmen from Colorado attending a publicly funded college or university. This four-year scholarship covers tuition, fees, room and board, and necessary books. Recipients also receive a laptop and printer. Eligible fields of study include Agriculture Business, Horticulture, and Botany, among others. Applicants must maintain a GPA of 2.50 and be Colorado residents. This program aims to support students pursuing careers in agriculture and horticulture.
