Skilled Trades Education

• Skilled trades classes that emphasize the expert use of tools and materials to build, repair and maintain products and structures. Fields include Agricultural Mechanics, Carpentry, Construction, Electrical, HVAC, Advanced Manufacturing, Plumbing, Transportation Mechanics and Repair, and Welding
• Donation requests must be submitted by a K-12 public-school teacher for their own school/classroom. Harbor Freight store gift cards are given directly to the school/teacher requesting one. We do not provide donations to outside organizations, clubs or third parties.

The CFDC: Youth In Action Grant empowers young people aged 12-18 to lead impactful projects in their schools and communities. With grants of up to $1,000, students are encouraged to identify local needs and develop creative solutions. This program fosters leadership, collaboration, and responsible resource stewardship, enabling youth to make a positive difference. Eligible projects include community gardens, mental health initiatives, and peer mentoring programs, all aimed at enhancing the quality of life for their peers.

Main Street America was founded in 1980 as the National Main Street Center®, a program of the National Trust for Historic Preservation. Over the past 40 years the MSA network has helped to generate over $115.27 billion in local reinvestment, rehab 345,801 buildings, create 815,894 new jobs, and start 181,647 new businesses in over 2,000 communities. 

Great American Main Street Awards

Main Street America celebrates communities whose successes serve as a model for comprehensive, preservation-based revitalization efforts in their historic downtowns and commercial corridor districts with the Great American Main Street Awards (GAMSA).

Winners represent the diversity of communities in the Main Street America network — small towns, mid-sized communities, and urban commercial districts from every region in the country — and demonstrate the power of the Main Street Approach™. Since the inception of the Great American Main Street Awards in 1995, 118 Main Street programs have been honored.

Selection Criteria: Semifinalists and winners are selected from a nationwide pool of applicants by a jury of Main Street professionals and leaders in the fields of community and economic development and historic preservation. Criteria for winning GAMSA include: strength of the Main Street program in spurring community transformation, commitment to historic preservation, innovative programming, implementation of cross-sector partnerships, community outreach and stakeholder engagement, and ensuring their downtown districts are for everyone. 

Accolades & Ceremony: Semifinalists are promoted through Main Street America’s digital channels and receive media relations support. Winners also receive a short documentary film, a plaque, communications and media relations support, prominent placement on the Main Street America website for two years, and recognition at the 2027 Main Street Now Conference in Detroit, Michigan.

Dearborn Community Foundation

The Dearborn Community Foundation, Inc., (DCF) is a community foundation, tax-exempt public charity that enables individuals, families, businesses and organizations to fulfill their charitable wishes. DCF builds and safeguards endowments for the community through contributions large and small. The endowment contributions are permanently invested to produce earnings so that these charitable funds make a difference in our community now and forever.

DCF Grants 

The Dearborn Community Foundation, Inc., (DCF) has awarded more than $33 million in grants since 1997. The grants support the needs/interests of the community in the fields of Art, Culture and Humanities, Community and Public Benefit, Education, Public Safety, Environment and Animal Protection, Human Services, and Youth Programs.

City of Lawrenceburg Community Grant Program (LCGP) - Phase I

The City of Lawrenceburg has generously provided funds for the Lawrenceburg Community Grant Program. The program is specifically for non-profit, IRS tax exempt organizations that provide a benefit, direct or indirect, to the Lawrenceburg community and Dearborn County.

Grant applications requesting $5,000 or less will be accepted pursuant to the grant application deadlines. Applications will be considered as long as funds are available.

LCGP Specific Guidelines

• grant funds are not granted to sustain ongoing projects/programs;
• grant applications will be considered as long as funds are available;
• organizations may not apply for any property improvements (buildings, fencing etc. …) to land not owned by the organization seeking the grant funds

City of Lawrenceburg Community Grant Program (LCGP) - Phase II

The City of Lawrenceburg has generously provided funds for the Lawrenceburg Community Grant Program. The program is specifically for non-profit, IRS tax exempt organizations that provide a benefit, direct or indirect, to the Lawrenceburg community and Dearborn County.

The Loudoun Community Response Fund, initiated in 2025, aims to enhance community support for individuals and families striving for financial stability and long-term security. It provides grants to 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Loudoun County, focusing on crisis intervention, improved human services, and self-sufficiency. With funding from the County of Loudoun, this initiative addresses growing needs and prioritizes organizations that demonstrate strong management and community partnerships, ensuring essential services are delivered effectively.

The Thriving Community Impact Fund offers Community Catalyst Grants to support transformative projects that enhance community health and well-being. With grants starting at $50,000, this program prioritizes applications from non-profits, schools, and government agencies that address pressing social needs and health inequities. Open annually from September 1 to November 1, the fund aims to empower community-driven initiatives that foster collaboration and measurable health improvements.

The Thriving Community Impact Fund offers grants ranging from $2,500 to $49,999 to support community health initiatives. Gundersen Health emphasizes collaboration and addressing social needs to foster well-being. Eligible organizations include non-profits, schools, and government agencies. The fund prioritizes projects that align with the Community Health Improvement Plan, focusing on health equity, civic engagement, and neighborhood enhancement. This initiative aims to empower communities and improve health outcomes while fostering corporate social responsibility.

The Thriving Community Impact Fund offers grants up to $2,499 to support local programs that enhance community health and well-being. This initiative by Gundersen Health emphasizes collaboration, focusing on areas such as physical and mental health, poverty alleviation, and neighborhood improvements. Organizations like non-profits and government agencies can apply for funding during a rolling application period, with decisions made monthly. The fund aims to empower communities and address health inequities through impactful partnerships.

The Fund for Columbia County: School-to-Work Grants, established by the Berkshire Taconic Community Foundation, aims to enhance educational opportunities for youth facing challenges in Columbia County. Since 1998, the fund has supported innovative projects that facilitate transitions from school to work, including internships and skill-building programs. Grants range from $5,000 to $15,000, with a focus on collaboration among nonprofits and educational organizations to create lasting community impact.

The Amazon Loudoun County Community Fund Grant, a $150,000 initiative by Amazon and the Community Foundation for Loudoun and Northern Fauquier, aims to empower local nonprofits and organizations. This program supports transformative projects that enhance inclusion, resilience, and community well-being in Loudoun. Grants ranging from $500 to $10,000 will address critical areas such as health, food security, and homelessness, fostering a strong and connected community for residents.

The Monterey Peninsula Foundation K-12 Grant supports local nonprofits and schools in Monterey, Santa Cruz, and San Benito Counties, focusing on arts, education, health, and community services. With a responsive grantmaking strategy, the foundation aims to address unmet community needs and foster resilience through various types of support, including operating, program, and capital funding. Organizations must demonstrate management capacity and a clear evaluation plan, ensuring long-term impact and community collaboration.

The Steelcase Foundation Grant supports independent 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Grand Rapids, MI, focusing on enhancing access to quality public education and fostering communities for children and families. The foundation prioritizes initiatives that provide quality learning experiences, engage multiple generations, and promote arts and culture. Grants typically range from $30,000 to $250,000, with an emphasis on projects demonstrating feasibility, community benefit, and alignment with social justice principles.

The Partnerships for Regional Economic Performance (PREP) aims to enhance regional collaboration in economic development, ensuring efficient service delivery to businesses. With $7.38 million available for FY2019-20, PREP supports consortia of economic development service providers to create a coordinated and responsive system. This initiative aligns with Pennsylvania's Ten-Year Strategic Plan, promoting business growth and recovery in communities affected by unemployment. The program is crucial for fostering partnerships that drive economic prosperity across the state.

The DCED Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) provides funding and technical assistance to eligible municipalities in Pennsylvania for various community development activities. Key uses include housing rehabilitation, public services, and infrastructure improvements. The grant has two application deadlines: October 31, 2025, for entitlement submissions and February 6, 2026, for competitive applications. The competitive program requires a minimum request of $100,000, with no ceiling limit, and mandates that 70% of funds benefit low- and moderate-income persons.

The Blue Ridge Energy Members Foundation Grant offers financial support to 501(c)(3) nonprofit organizations that assist Blue Ridge Energy members and their communities. Established in 2007, the Foundation returns 100% of member donations and a portion of profits back to local communities, totaling nearly $3 million. Grants are available for projects in health, education, community development, and environmental enhancement, with funding up to $25,000 per grant. All applications must be submitted online, with only one application accepted per organization annually.

The Alton Affiliate Grant, led by the Louis L & Julia Dorothy Coover Charitable Foundation, aims to enhance community well-being in Alton and Oregon County. This program supports 501(c)(3) organizations dedicated to improving local quality of life through strategic grantmaking and leadership initiatives. Eligible entities include government bodies, schools, and churches, all working collaboratively to strengthen our region and foster community development.

The CFGFW Rising Together Grants: Inspiring Places Program aims to enhance community well-being by providing operational funding for initiatives that create engaging and energizing spaces. This program aligns with the Community Foundation's strategic 'Let’s Rise!' Vision Plan, which focuses on fostering connections among residents and visitors through various sectors such as arts and community development. Funded by the Paul Clarke Endowment and the Community Impact Fund, the grants are designed to support projects that positively impact the quality of life in the community.

The Family Power Fund by Headwaters Foundation supports nonprofits that empower families to lead health policy advocacy in Western Montana. It focuses on building leadership among youth and caregivers, fostering community organizing, and shifting narratives through storytelling. This initiative prioritizes families facing significant health challenges, including low-income, Indigenous, Black, and LGBTQ+ communities, aiming to amplify their voices and create impactful policy solutions.

The Alton Affiliate Grantmaking Program, managed by the Alton Community Foundation, aims to enhance the quality of life for residents in Alton and Oregon County through strategic grantmaking. This program supports 501(c)(3) organizations and other IRS-approved entities that address community needs. Minimum grant requests start at $1,500, with applications accepted on a scheduled basis, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively to meet pressing local demands.

The Environmental Humanities Program Grants by Florida Humanities Council aim to fund projects that explore the interplay between humans and the environment. These grants support innovative, collaborative initiatives that celebrate Florida's diverse landscapes and foster community engagement. Eligible applicants can request up to $10,000 for programs that demonstrate public impact and address local environmental issues. Priority is given to projects serving underserved communities and those located in economically distressed areas.

The MCF Community Heart & Soul Program, a collaboration between the Montana Community Foundation and Montana State University Extension, aims to empower rural communities in Montana to identify their core values and aspirations. This resident-driven initiative fosters community engagement through exploratory activities, grants, and support, ultimately enhancing local pride, volunteerism, and economic development. Selected communities will benefit from financial assistance, coaching, and a structured process over two years to ensure sustainable community growth and connection.

The MCF Community Investment Program (CIP) supports innovative projects that enhance the quality of life in Rosebud, Custer, and Fallon County, Montana. Established by Grid United, this program aims to partner with local communities, encouraging projects that address community needs and leverage additional support. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and government entities, while ineligible projects include one-time events and general operating expenses. Grants must benefit the specified counties.

The Colstrip Impacts Foundation, part of the Montana Community Foundation, offers grants aimed at supporting impacted workers and enhancing economic development in the Colstrip community. With a focus on fostering community resilience, the foundation funds innovative projects that address local issues, leverage additional support, and promote sustainable growth. Eligible organizations can apply for funding to cover general support and operational expenses, driving meaningful change and development in this evolving region.

The Colstrip Impacts Foundation offers an Economic Development Grant aimed at supporting impacted workers and fostering economic growth in the Colstrip community. Grants are available for existing and startup businesses that propose innovative solutions to local economic challenges, leverage additional support, and contribute to community sustainability. The initiative seeks to enhance job creation and retention, ensuring a vibrant future for the region.

The Beaver Dam Area Community Foundation Impact Grant aims to enhance the quality of life in Dodge County by supporting impactful projects. Grants, ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, focus on endowment building, capital projects, capacity building, community leadership, community betterment, and startup initiatives. The Foundation exclusively funds organizations serving Dodge County, ensuring that each grant contributes to local growth and sustainability, while fostering innovative solutions to pressing community needs.

The Warren Area Community Fund Grant, provided by the Northwest Minnesota Foundation, aims to enhance the quality of life for residents and visitors in the Warren area. This grant supports charitable, educational, and public purpose projects that align with the foundation's mission of fostering community empowerment and collaboration. By championing impactful ideas, the fund seeks to strengthen local communities and promote philanthropy, ensuring a brighter future for all.
