PLTW Engineering - New Program In Partnership With Ardagh Group

Ardagh Group has partnered with PLTW to support education in its local communities where Ardagh employees live and work. This partnership recognizes the critical role education, and access to education, plays in ensuring equal opportunities and in building successful, vibrant communities. It is expected that over the next 10 years, Ardagh sponsored education programs will benefit more than 500,000 PreK-12 students as well as delivering best-in-class teacher training to more than 5,000 teachers across 2,000 schools in Ardagh's U.S. communities.

Program Requirements

The purpose of this grant is to assist the grantee's implementation of the PLTW Engineering program. Grantee must offer the PLTW Engineering program for three academic years. Grantee must offer at least one PLTW Engineering course in the 2027-2028 academic year and must offer one additional course in the 2028-2029 academic year (two different courses in two years). Grantee may implement any PLTW Engineering courses of their choosing. Grantee must complete three years of grant reporting.

Kenneth K. Mills Scholarship

Multi-year award averaging $500 per year for graduates of Shepaug Valley High School who will be/are attending Rutgers University.

Property owners in New Jersey, including individuals, businesses, governments, and nonprofits, can receive funding to sell or donate land or easements for open space, recreation, and conservation. With a mission to protect natural resources, the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection acquires qualifying properties for state parks, forests, wildlife management areas, and natural areas.

Municipal and county governments in New Jersey can receive US $5,000 - US $20,000 to develop Community Forestry Management Plans and conduct tree inventories that support healthy, sustainable urban forests. The State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection administers this program, which may benefit districts or schools partnering with local governments on environmental stewardship initiatives.

With a mission to strengthen community well-being, nonprofits in New Jersey can seek Summit Foundation support for specific programs and projects. Eligible tax-exempt organizations serving the Summit area may request funding for education, scholarships, health, food and housing security, arts, civic initiatives, and related community services that benefit local residents.

Municipal, county, and state government agencies in New Jersey can seek funding to enforce the state’s Tobacco Age of Sale law through compliance inspections of tobacco retailers. The State of New Jersey Department of Health supports public health efforts that may benefit school communities and youth-serving programs concerned with tobacco use among underage individuals.

New Jersey public, private, charter, and parochial schools seeking long-term arts residencies can receive US $300 - US $2,000 to host professional teaching artists. Young Audiences supports 20-day Arts Lab Residencies that deliver student workshops, staff professional development, and SEL-infused arts programming, which can count toward teachers’ continuing education goals.

New Jersey disadvantaged community water system borrowers can obtain funding for planning and design of clean water and drinking water infrastructure projects, including wastewater, stormwater, water supply, and nonpoint source facilities. New Jersey education institutions that qualify as eligible borrowers may be able to support campus water infrastructure needs through this State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection program, with awards up to US $2,000,000.

The Water and Environment Grant Program by the American Water Charitable Foundation supports innovative community projects aimed at improving watersheds, conserving water, and enhancing access to recreation in underserved areas. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations and educational institutions located within American Water's service areas. Projects must be completed within 12 months, and applicants should consider budget feasibility when requesting funds. Certain organizations and projects, such as those not classified as 501(c)(3), are ineligible.

Coastal conservation and resilience organizations in New Jersey and other eligible coastal areas can seek US $1,000,000 - US $10,000,000 to plan, design, and implement nature-based solutions that protect communities and habitats. National Fish and Wildlife Foundation supports projects like restoring marshes, dunes, reefs, floodplains, and living shorelines that reduce flooding and coastal hazards.

Summer Youth Work Experience Program (SYWEP)

 The FY 2026 Summer Youth Work Experience Program (SYWEP) is being funded to provide in-school and out-of-school youth, ages 16-24, with valuable summer work experiences in order to help them successfully transition to the world of work.

Start Date and End Date of Grant Program:

• April 1, 2026 - October 31, 2026

Funding Amount:

• $8,000,000

Applications must not exceed a maximum cost per participant of $4,160. The cost-per participant is calculated as the total grant funds requested (including administrative costs) divided by the proposed number of participants to be enrolled. Further detail regarding allowable costs can be found in Section H.8.

Final awards are contingent upon State allocation of funds. The applicant’s budget must be well considered, necessary for the implementation of the program, and within the funding parameters. Final amounts will be determined at the time of pre-contract revisions. Ineligible, inappropriate or undocumented costs will be removed from the funding request. SYWEP programs may be considered for a continuance of up to an additional year, contingent upon successful performance of the program/grantees and upon the availability of funds.

Organizations in New Jersey seeking to install electric vehicle charging stations can apply for funding to offset purchase and maintenance costs, with awards up to US $4,000. Focused on green infrastructure and electrification, the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection supports projects that expand the state’s EV charging network, which may benefit education-related campuses and facilities.

Certified local health agencies in New Jersey can access funding to provide environmental health services under the County Environmental Health Act. Administered by the State of New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, these annual grants require a 100% local match for most programs and participation in a grant conference with a countywide assessment and improvement plan.

The Baltimore Life Community Grants Program, established by the Baltimore Life Foundation, awards grants of up to $500 to nonprofit organizations in various states, including Maryland and Virginia. This initiative aims to enhance community quality of life through projects that focus on family safety and community enhancement. Eligible applicants must be IRS-certified 501(c)(3) organizations, with priority given to those with volunteer support. This program reflects Baltimore Life's commitment to corporate citizenship and community involvement.

The Honda USA Foundation's Mobility Pillar Award aims to empower individuals with disabilities by funding programs that enhance access and mobility. The foundation supports nonprofit organizations and schools that provide therapeutic, adaptive, and comprehensive care programs, as well as mobility modifications and assistive technology. Applications are accepted from U.S.-based organizations with 501(c)(3) status or fiscal sponsors, ensuring that the joy of mobility is accessible to all.

The Environment Pillar Award by Honda supports nonprofit organizations and schools in the U.S. focused on sustainability. Grants aim to reduce environmental impact through programs in decarbonization, clean energy, and efficient resource use. Eligible projects must align with Honda's mission and primarily benefit communities where Honda associates live and work. Organizations can apply for up to two grants, provided they meet specific eligibility criteria, including tax-exempt status under the IRS.

The Programmatic Support - Education Pillar Award by Honda aims to enhance workforce readiness in the manufacturing sector. It supports nonprofit organizations and schools focused on hands-on programs in design, software/data analytics, and AI/machine learning. Eligible applicants must be US-based and have 501(c)(3) status. The initiative prioritizes projects that train individuals for manufacturing roles, develop technical skills, and introduce automation to prepare for evolving industry demands, ultimately fostering economic prosperity in local communities.

The NJ Wildlife Fencing Grants provide cost-share funding for installing wildlife fencing on unpreserved farms in New Jersey. Eligible farm owners, operators, or tenants can receive up to 50% matching funds, up to $50,000, to help construct, maintain, or restore fencing for wildlife protection. The program aims to support agricultural sustainability while safeguarding crops from wildlife. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are depleted.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant opportunity for schools across the US to implement the PLTW Gateway program for the first time. With total funding of $9,100, the grant covers participation fees and training registration costs. Schools, including public, private, and charter, are encouraged to apply, particularly those serving low-income and minority majority populations. This initiative aims to enhance educational pathways in STEM for diverse student groups.

The Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics Foundation offers a variety of scholarships for students in the Dietetic Technician Program, with over 250 scholarships available. Ranging from $500 to $25,000, these scholarships help support aspiring dietetic professionals. Applicants need to complete a single application to be considered for multiple scholarships based on eligibility. Membership in the Academy is encouraged but not mandatory for applying.

Under the direction of the Attorney General, the Office of the Attorney General and Department of Law & Public Safety are dedicated to making New Jersey safe for all its residents and visitors. Its diverse and complex responsibilities focus on protecting the lives and property of New Jersey citizens. In addition to providing statewide law enforcement and emergency response services, this Department and its approximately 7,700 employees are responsible for protecting citizens’ civil and consumer rights, promoting highway traffic safety, maintaining public confidence in the alcoholic beverage, gaming and racing industries and providing legal services and counsel to other state agencies.

SFY26 Non-Competitive Hospital Based Violence Intervention Program

Since September 2019, Governor Murphy and the Department of Law and Public Safety have invested in the development, implementation, and sustainability of hospital-based violence intervention programs (HVIPs) across New Jersey. These programs are designed to engage victims of gun and other community based violence at the time of crisis, providing immediate support and connecting them to critical services.

This funding supports programs that connect victims of crime to services, starting in hospitals or other medical settings and continuing into the community aiming to enhance support, improve outcomes, and reduce the risk of future victimization. 

This funding is limited to recipients who received SFY25 NJHVIP Continuation Funding and who have:

• Met the program’s goals and objectives,
• Submitted all required reports on time,
• Remained in compliance with all grant conditions, and
• Satisfied any additional criteria determined by the Department of Law and Public Safety.

The Fellowship Program for the Postdoctoral Associate Grant aims to support research that enhances inclusivity in the autism workforce. It offers three awards totaling $195,000 over three years, targeting diverse, independent investigators to transition into tenure-track positions. This initiative, established by the Governor’s Council for Medical Research and Treatment of Autism, strives to advance the understanding and management of Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) through innovative research and training programs.

Programs will promote officer wellness and resiliency by providing funding for initiatives, including but not limited to counseling services, wellness training and programs, physical fitness enhancements, peer support, and the development of spaces or tools that improve officer health and well-being.

These grants prioritize proposals that focus on improving services based on community feedback, collaboration, and data-driven outcomes. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and local government entities serving specific communities in New Jersey. By investing in these initiatives, Partners for Health aims to create thriving communities where health equity is recognized and addressed.

The Diminished Tree Species Grant Program focuses on restoring native tree species crucial for biodiversity and forest health. By funding scientific research, seed orchard development, and land preservation, the program aims to combat climate change through effective tree restoration projects. The Oak Hill Fund, a private entity, encourages project-specific applications, prioritizing organizations that meet eligibility criteria under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS. This initiative is vital for sustaining healthy ecosystems and mitigating environmental impacts.

Partners for Health Foundation offers Small Grants of up to $15,000 to promote health equity in communities. These grants support both general operating expenses and specific projects aimed at improving health outcomes. Eligible organizations include 501(c)(3) nonprofits and local government entities serving designated communities in New Jersey. The foundation prioritizes proposals that demonstrate collaboration, data-driven results, and a commitment to addressing health inequities.
