The Washington Wildlife and Recreation Program (WWRP) offers funding for diverse land conservation projects, from urban habitat protection to the preservation of rare plant species. Competitive Community Grant- Health & Human Services- Spring Cycle

All people are healthy and safe.

We will support organizations that work to improve the following outcomes in our communities:

• Access to affordable housing
• Food security
• Safety
• Access to health care
• Mental health services
• Healthy neighborhood living conditions
• Senior services

Through direct service, policy advocacy, and/or collaboration efforts, priority strategies will address:

• Affordable housing and shelter for homeless, rent-burdened, and at-risk populations, including eviction prevention
• Access to affordable and high-quality food, including food banks, pantries, and community centers that distribute food and promote healthy eating and work to address “food deserts”
• Efforts to address safety for vulnerable populations, including domestic violence and child abuse prevention, bullying prevention in schools, safety issues specific to immigrant populations, low wage workers and communities of color
• Access to health care, including programs providing un- and under-insured populations with culturally appropriate and equitable access to quality health and wellness programs services. Priority will be given to efforts applying social determinants of health lens to the work
• Mental health services, including school-based services, treatment, prevention, and rehabilitation programs targeting marginalized communities, and groups working on cultural and generational trauma
• Building healthy communities, including built environment and infrastructure, environmental quality (toxins and air/water quality), affordable and reliable transportation, and parks and recreation
• Providing services targeted at senior well-being, including memory care, depression, audiology, dementia, exercise, home care, hospice, and medication guidance.
• Systems change, including public policy, civic engagement, community organizing or public information to improve health and wellbeing of local residents

Grant Sizes

We offer $5,000, $10,000, $15,000, or $20,000 general operating support depending on your annual budget:

• Organizations with an annual budget up to $50,000 may apply for a $5,000 grant;
• Organizations with an annual budget between $50,001 - $150,000 may apply for a $10,000 grant;
• Organizations with an annual budget between $150,001 - $500,000 may apply for a $15,000 grant; and
• Organizations with an annual budget of $500,001 or more may apply for a $20,000 grant.

The Wish Book Grant, initiated by the San Jose Mercury News, supports local nonprofits in the Bay Area by providing funding through a holiday fundraising campaign. Each year, approximately 20 grantees are selected based on their impactful initiatives that address community needs, including homelessness, food insecurity, and systemic racism. Since its inception, the program has raised over $12 million, connecting readers with opportunities to support meaningful causes during the holiday season.

The Rhode Island Foundation's RIF Capacity Building Grants program supports 501(c)(3) nonprofits in Rhode Island. It aims to empower organizations that align with community priorities, focusing on diversity, equity, inclusion, and access (DEIA). Grants provide funding and technical assistance for strategic planning, business development, and operational improvements to enhance community impact. The Scaife Family Foundation Grant has been supporting vulnerable community members for nearly 40 years, providing over $180 million in donations to non-profits. The Foundation aims to match organizations with aligned goals, focusing on women and children, addiction prevention, and animal welfare. It offers grants for general operating and program support, prioritizing impactful programs that address societal issues. Notably, the Foundation considers proposals that foster healthy relationships and promote treatment for addiction, enhancing the welfare of both humans and animals.

The Antarctic Wildlife Research Fund invites proposals for projects aligned with its scientific research plan, focusing on Antarctic marine ecosystems. Impact Grant

Impact Grants provide funding for programs and initiatives that closely align with our mission of helping those who are working hard to help themselves and others. These grants are designed to support opportunities that create positive change within our focus areas, ensuring resources are directed toward impactful and mission-driven efforts.

The Cushman Foundation Grant aims to support community and humanitarian efforts in San Diego County. The foundation focuses on areas such as aid to seniors, arts and culture, education, and health and well-being. Eligible applicants include current 501(c)(3) organizations located in the region. The foundation is committed to giving back to the community it has served for generations, fostering positive change and promoting human welfare through its initiatives.

New York State Department of Environmental Conservation

The New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (DEC) was created on July 1, 1970 to combine all state programs designed to protect and enhance the environment into a single agency.

DEC's Mission: "To conserve, improve and protect New York's natural resources and environment and to prevent, abate and control water, land and air pollution, in order to enhance the health, safety and welfare of the people of the state and their overall economic and social well-being."

DEC's goal is to achieve this mission through the simultaneous pursuit of environmental quality, public health, economic prosperity and social well-being, including environmental justice and the empowerment of individuals to participate in environmental decisions that affect their lives.

Forest Conservation Easements for Land Trust (FCELT) Program

The Forest Conservation Easements for Land Trusts Program offers competitive matching grants to qualified New York land trusts to fund the acquisition of conservation easements on forestland that will increase the pace of forested land conservation to combat the impacts of a changing climate.

The program provides up to $1.35 million from the Environmental Protection Fund for grants to land trusts to protect forestland through conservation easements. The program is administered by the Land Trust Alliance in coordination with DEC.

The Baker Foundation Grant supports 501c3 non-profit organizations primarily in Pierce County, Washington. Established in 1987 by the Baker family, it aims to enhance community welfare through funding for youth programs, arts, and education. Grants range from $2,500 to $10,000 for programs and $25,000 for capital projects. The Foundation honors its founder's legacy by fostering a vibrant cultural and educational landscape, ensuring the community continues to benefit for generations.

The Kings County Conservation Futures Grant provides essential funding for the Land Conservation Initiative, aimed at preserving vital natural and urban green spaces. This grant supports projects like parks, community gardens, and habitat restoration, particularly in underserved areas. Eligible recipients include local governments and qualified nonprofits. The initiative seeks to enhance community access to open spaces, ensuring that all residents can benefit from nature and recreational opportunities.

The DE Community Water Quality Improvement Grant (CWQIG) supports projects aimed at enhancing water quality in impaired watersheds across Delaware. Funded by the Delaware Department of Natural Resources and Environmental Control (DNREC), grants range from $25,000 to $75,000. Eligible projects include stormwater retrofits and stream restoration that align with established environmental strategies. This initiative aims to address pollution and improve the ecological health of Delaware's waterways.

Ameren Illinois Grants aim to enhance community quality of life through funding in areas like arts, civic engagement, environmental preservation, health services, and youth education. Organizations within the Ameren Illinois service area are eligible, provided they are tax-exempt and do not discriminate unlawfully. Applications are accepted year-round, but those submitted after December 1 may be reviewed the following year. This initiative supports diverse community enrichment and resource provision for vulnerable populations.

The North Central Michigan CF: NCMCF Youth Advisory Council (YAC) Grants empower local youth from Crawford, Ogemaw, and Oscoda Counties to promote philanthropy by awarding grants to non-profit organizations benefiting individuals under 18. Prioritizing projects addressing pressing youth issues such as mental health, substance use, and bullying, the YAC fosters community improvement while enhancing members' understanding of grant-making. This initiative, supported by the W.K. Kellogg Foundation, ensures impactful contributions to youth-centric programs.

Waste and Litter Grant

The purpose of the Litter Reduction & Recycling Grant and the Waste Reduction & Recycling Incentive Grant programs is to fund activities that reduce litter and waste and promote recycling in Nebraska. This document is intended to aid grant applicants in the preparation of an application and the quarterly report by outlining what expenses the Nebraska Department of Water, Energy, and Environment (DWEE) deemed eligible for reimbursement through these grant programs, and by identifying documentation that must be submitted as part of the application and quarterly report. This guidance document applies to grant applications received for the current grant period.

Major updates for 2027 Grant Year:

• No in-kind match
• Personnel benefits will not be reimbursed but can be used for cash match
• Maximum of $500,000 per entity
• Equipment will require a 50% match
• Bid threshold is now $10,000 for supplies and contractual and $25,000 for equipment

By enhancing both paid and unpaid workforce sectors, Cambia fosters wellness, reduces stigma, and promotes collaborative care models. Their commitment to health equity reflects in their strategic areas of investment, ensuring everyone has the opportunity for better health outcomes.

The Harold T. Southern Family Foundation Grant, established in 2014, honors Harold and Mildred Southern, promoting education and environmental conservation in North and South Carolina. The foundation supports tennis youth programs and protects natural resources in Western North Carolina. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) exempt. Applications focus on environmental initiatives, ensuring a healthier lifestyle for future generations while fostering a love for nature and community engagement through sports.

The Sheboygan County Stewardship Fund Grant, established by voter support in 2000, aims to enhance recreational opportunities and conserve natural resources in Sheboygan County. The grant funds various projects including land acquisitions and restorations. Eligible applicants include government agencies and 501(c) non-profits. Applications are typically available in late winter/early spring, aligning with Knowles-Nelson State Stewardship funding. The program prioritizes projects that involve public access and environmental stewardship, ensuring sustainable growth and resource preservation.

The Harnett County Community Foundation provides support to charitable organizations in North Carolina, particularly those addressing COVID-19 challenges. By forgoing the traditional grant cycle, the foundation aims to assist nonprofits in various sectors, including education, health, and the arts. This initiative aligns with its mission to enhance community welfare through philanthropy and direct action. Organizations eligible for funding must be tax-exempt public charities or local government units, ensuring broad support for local needs.

The Nonpoint Source Pollution Control Grant Program, funded by the California State Water Board through the Clean Water Act Section 319(h), supports projects aimed at reducing nonpoint source pollution. Funded initiatives include livestock management, forest road improvements, stream restoration, and agricultural best practices to protect water quality. Approximately $4 million is awarded annually to enhance impaired waters and safeguard high-quality ecosystems, ensuring sustainable management of California's water resources.
