The MHEC 2+2 Transfer Scholarship supports Maryland community college students transferring to 4-year institutions, helping them complete their bachelor's degrees. Funded by the Maryland Higher Education Commission, this award offers $2,000 annually for students in specific programs like science and nursing, and $1,000 for others. Eligibility includes a minimum 2.5 GPA and filing the FAFSA. The scholarship can be renewed for up to three years, ensuring financial assistance for dedicated students pursuing higher education.

The State Bar of New Mexico Access to Justice Fund Grant offers support to nonprofit organizations providing civil legal services to low-income New Mexicans. Applicants must submit a statement of intent to apply, along with contact information. The Commission welcomes applications for both new and ongoing projects in alignment with the State Plan for the Provision of Civil Legal Services. This initiative aims to enhance access to justice for vulnerable populations.

Della M. Levy Scholarship for Graduate Studies

The Della M. Levy Scholarship for Graduate studies will award one female student who has completed her undergraduate studies and is pursuing a full-time graduate degree from either JU or UNF. The award of $4,500 can be used to support tuition, books, and other college related expenses in coordination with your Office of Financial Aid’s Cost of Attendance.

Talen Charles Birt Memorial Scholarship

The Talen Charles Birt Memorial Scholarship will provide financial assistance for students graduating from Andrew Jackson, First Coast, Jean Ribault, or William M. Raines High Schools in Duval County. In selecting the successful candidate, the review committee will consider the students’ demonstrated commitment to academics and leadership, plans to pursue a 2- or 4-year degree and can articulate why they have selected their area of study, and financial need. The one-time scholarship will support tuition and books, up to $2,000.

Evergy is committed to empowering a better future for the communities we serve. Through our Community Impact Program, we support nonprofit organizations working to improve environmental sustainability, community vitality and social equity.

Evergy’s Hometown Grant Program 

Awarded annually, this grant program provides up to $10,000 for basic needs initiatives. 

Projects must be basic needs focused for food security, housing, hygiene and bill payments. Health focused projects are not eligible. Projects should be for expanding capacity or special projects that are outside of normal operations.  

The Houston Affiliate Grantmaking Program, supported by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, aims to enhance the quality of life for Houston residents through impactful grantmaking. Eligible applicants include 501(c)(3) organizations and other IRS-approved entities serving the city. Organizations can apply for funding up to $1,300 to support their initiatives and community projects. This program emphasizes collaboration and leadership to foster community growth and development.

The Paul and Elizabeth Younts Trust Grant is dedicated to supporting qualified 501(c)(3) organizations that provide essential health services. Established under the Last Will and Testament of Paul R. Younts, a notable figure in North Carolina's history, this trust aims to make a positive impact in the community. Applications are accepted year-round, with a focus on health-related initiatives, ensuring that organizations meeting the eligibility criteria can seek funding to further their mission.

The Isabel Foundation Grant supports nonprofit organizations that promote the Christian Science faith. Founded by Isabel and C.S. Harding Mott, the foundation primarily funds initiatives such as camps, churches, and nursing facilities that align with these values. Eligible applicants must be U.S.-based 501(c)(3) organizations. Although the foundation appreciates the work of branch churches, they are currently unable to fund their projects. This grant represents a commitment to nurturing the Christian Science community.

The Transition to Aging Research Award for Predoctoral Students, funded by the National Institute on Aging (NIA), invites exceptional graduate students to pursue aging-related postdoctoral training. This two-phase award supports late-stage doctoral candidates in completing dissertation projects across diverse research areas. It aims to facilitate smooth transitions into competitive aging-focused postdoctoral roles, fostering the development of future investigators in aging research. This initiative is designed to enhance collaboration and impactful research in the field of aging.

The National Trust Preservation Funds provide grants ranging from $2,500 to $5,000 to support local preservation projects and ongoing work. These funds aim to enhance community engagement in preservation, foster technical expertise, and stimulate financial participation from the private sector. Eligible applicants include public agencies and nonprofit organizations focused on planning and education efforts related to preservation. The program is particularly interested in initiatives that reach new audiences and further the preservation movement.

The Buckeye Book Fair Literacy Awards support Ohio's reading initiatives by providing funding to nonprofit organizations, public libraries, and schools. Celebrated annually, this event fosters a love for reading while connecting students with authors. Applications are encouraged before October 1, especially for projects leading up to the Buckeye Book Fair, held on the first Saturday of November. This program not only promotes literacy but also celebrates Ohio's literary talent.

The Pittsburgh Conference Memorial National College Grant (PCMNCG) supports small college science departments by providing grants for scientific equipment, teaching aids, and library materials. With a maximum funding of $10,000, this initiative promotes excellence in science education and encourages proposals that demonstrate effective integration of requested resources into curricula. Eligible institutions must have fewer than 5,000 students, ensuring that funds significantly impact undergraduate science education across diverse fields.

The SCF The Women's Fund Grant, established in 2006 by visionary women, aims to enhance the lives of women and children in Stark County. Through vital funding, it supports programs focused on economic stability, emotional health, and community engagement. The fund seeks to empower women as leaders in philanthropy while addressing the needs of underserved populations. Its strategic goals include building a sustainable endowment and promoting philanthropy across diverse backgrounds, ensuring lasting impact for future generations.

Literary Arts Fund

Grants Overview

The Literary Arts Fund will award at least $50 million in grants to the nonprofit literary arts field over the next five years, concluding in 2031.

With a short timeline, the fund’s grantmaking has a strategic focus on the areas of the literary arts ecosystem where it determined it could have the greatest impact— that is: supporting independent U.S.-based literary arts nonprofits whose primary mission is directly serving adult writers of creative nonfiction, fiction, poetry, and hybrid works in making their artistic work and sharing it with readers outside of school and academic settings. General Operating Grants Applications 2026 Guide

Background

The Literary Arts Fund was established in 2025 to dramatically increase funding for and the visibility of the nonprofit literary arts field toward ensuring a healthy and more robust U.S. literary culture in support of creative writers. The fund will award at least $10 million in grants to the nonprofit literary arts field in each of the next five years, concluding in 2031. The first open call is for 2026 general operating grant applications.

The PEMV Emergency Response Fund Grants, established in March 2020, address urgent needs arising from the COVID-19 pandemic. This fund supports Island nonprofits that assist vulnerable populations, particularly those affected by the crisis. Notably, it has provided essential resources to Venezuelan migrants and other community members, ensuring access to food, shelter, and legal assistance. The fund continues to adapt to evolving challenges, reinforcing the community's commitment to helping those in need.

Dominic and Jessie Vitulli Scholarship

The Dominic and Jessie Vitulli Scholarship Fund supports graduates of Northshore School District, who are enrolled full time in the undergraduate programs of the University of Washington. The intent of the scholarship is to encourage and assist students who demonstrate financial need, the potential to succeed, motivation, and overall “well-roundedness.” Academic achievement is not a primary consideration in awarding the Dominic and Jessie Vitulli Scholarship. This scholarship will be renewable for up to three additional years if pursing a Bachelors degree.

Doug Struthers Memorial Scholarship

Doug Struthers taught at Alexander Graham Bell Elementary in the Lake Washington School District for more than two decades. His hard work, commitment and perseverance made a difference in the school and the community. This scholarship fund was created in his memory to help young people learn skills to serve their communities. Four Lake Washington School District students every year are chosen to receive this $5,000 renewable scholarship.

The Tony Marley Memorial Scholarship, offered by the Ashland County Community Foundation, supports graduating seniors from Ashland County public high schools who aim to pursue a degree in Teacher Education. This scholarship honors Tony Marley, a dedicated educator and World War II veteran. Eligible candidates must maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5 and be accepted into an accredited four-year college or university in Ohio, ensuring that future educators receive the financial assistance they need to achieve their goals.

This is a one-time scholarship for $3,000 to honor and financially assist graduate, professional or undergraduate students in Island, Kitsap, Jefferson, and Thurston counties.

Diane Bava Memorial Scholarship

Sponsored by Amador Family Scholarship Fund, this scholarship is open to current or former Modesto City School District students.

The Housing for Everyone Grant Competition, part of the 2026 Initiative, aims to support eviction prevention in low-to moderate-income communities. This 20th annual initiative recognizes the destabilizing impact of eviction and displacement on families, which leads to job loss, school disruptions, and health issues. By funding innovative organizations, the competition seeks to provide stability for renters, enabling them to stay in their homes and communities.

The Lilly Endowment Community Scholarship Program aims to enhance educational attainment in Indiana by supporting talented students. This initiative provides full-tuition, fees, and book stipends for four years at accredited Indiana colleges. Eligibility requires a high school diploma from an accredited Indiana school, a minimum GPA of 3.5, and standardized test scores. With 147 scholarships awarded annually, this program fosters community engagement and encourages recipients to pursue careers in Indiana, thus improving local quality of life.
