About the Program

Rooted in Health: Rural Dental Access
A key component of Kentucky’s Rooted in Health: Rural Dental Access initiative involves increasing access to dental care through mobile services that bring care directly into rural communities. Through this grant opportunity, the Kentucky Department for Public Health (DPH) is soliciting applications from non-profit organizations to provide definitive mobile dental care in rural areas across the Commonwealth. Mobile dental units will collaborate with the state and rural health partners (including Community Health Workers, Public Health Dental Hygiene teams, and universities) to increase access to definitive dental care in areas of high need where access to traditional dental providers may be limited.
GO Virginia Program Overview
GO Virginia is a collaborative economic development initiative, that provides project-based incentives to encourage collaboration between private industry, higher education and local government in each region to produce results that will grow and diversify the regional economies and ultimately the commonwealth.
To achieve the program goals, the GO Virginia State Board has created nine regional councils. These councils are responsible for developing regional Growth and Diversification Plans and implementing those plans through the submission of project applications. Applications approved at the regional level are advanced to the GO Virginia State Board for funding.
The GO Virginia State Board has identified four primary investment strategies to achieve the program goals. The four priority investment strategies are:
All successful projects should align with at least one of these strategies and demonstrate a clear connection to a region’s Growth & Diversification Plan. See the GO Virginia Program Manual for details.
Virginia Growth and Opportunity Fund (GO Virginia) Regional Per Capita Implementation Grants
Regional Implementation Grants support ready-to-execute, high-impact regional projects that advance a region’s Growth and Diversification Plan and move beyond planning into implementation. These projects are designed to grow and diversify regional economies through activities that support one of the GO Virginia investment strategies of talent development, site readiness, entrepreneurship & Innovation, or accelerate the development of emerging industry clusters.
Projects are expected to have industry focus and deliver measurable economic outcomes and demonstrate readiness to begin implementation upon approval. They must demonstrate strong support from local units of government, industry partners, educational institutions, or other relevant entities/organizations. Projects must add value and not duplicate existing efforts. Coordination with local, regional, and private-sector partners is essential.

Conservation Incentive Program (CIP)
At the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission, our mission is to conserve and enhance our state’s wildlife and their habitats. It’s a job we take to heart and one we never take for granted. But our state is vast and only 10% of it is public land that we can manage. We need partners. People who are part of this natural wonder every day of their lives. Landowners who appreciate the unique resources that few have, and who take the responsibility of their land seriously.
Landowners are, and always have been, the cornerstone to conservation efforts and wildlife management in our state. If you’re willing to put in the effort and do the hard work with us, we’re willing to reward you for it.
We have numerous programs that will make your land more valuable to the fish and wildlife on your property, that reflect our shared values and will help keep The Natural State, natural.
Feral Hog Trapping
Feral swine eradication is a component of an area-wide effort of assessment, control and monitoring to document and reduce resource damage caused by feral swine. Landowner payments are capped at $20,000, with a reimbursement rate set at 75% of the actual cost for eligible traps and control systems. Landowners will receive two payments: the first 45%, as demonstrated by actual receipts or paid invoices, and the second payment to cover the additional 30% after the first successfully documented trap event of feral hogs using the AGFC monitoring app on any of the properties included within the application.

How common are grants in this category?
Quite common — grants in this category are more prevalent than in others.
Over the past year, when are grant deadlines typically due for grants for Preschools?
Most grants are due in the first quarter.
What's the typical grant amount funded for Grants for Preschools?
Grants are most commonly $35,000.
Nonprofits that are eligible for preschools grants include licensed nonprofit preschools, early childhood education centers, houses of worship, and family-focused organizations that provide pre-K learning programs. Funders may also focus their grants on early childhood education programs and teacher training in their respective communities. Many grants require applicants to be 501(c)(3) organizations and may prioritize initiatives serving low-income families and children with special needs.
Grants in preschools typically have the highest concentration of deadlines in Q1, with 29.7% of grant deadlines falling in this period. If you're planning to apply, consider prioritizing your applications around this time to maximize opportunities. Conversely, the least active period for grants in this category is Q4.
Preschool grants support early childhood education programs, teacher training, curriculum development, and facility improvements. Funders also seek to enhance school readiness and learning environments, support working families, support young children's development, and improve access to quality early learning programs. There are more than 6,000 grants available and an impressive $2.95 billion in funding available for preschools and early childhood education.
Funding for preschools grants varies widely, with award amounts ranging from a minimum of $0 to a maximum of $188,250,000. Based on Instrumentl’s data, the median grant amount for this category is $35,000, while the average grant awarded is $653,168. Understanding these funding trends can help nonprofits set realistic expectations when applying.
Of the $2.95 billion available in funding, nearly half come from private funders like the Cooke Foundation, the National Education Association Staff Organization, the James C. Stewart Charitable Foundation, and the Bell Charitable Foundation. In addition, there are many federal and state and local government funders that are providing grants for preschools and early childhood education in their respective areas.
Some of the key federal grants are from the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, the U.S. Department of Justice, and the U.S. Department of Labor. There are also quite a bit of state-level organizations that are offering funding for Preschool grants like the Tennessee Department of Agriculture and the New York State Office of Mental Health.
A carefully planned approach is needed in order to successfully win grants for preschools. To improve grant success, nonprofits should concentrate on all of these key areas:
