In partnership with the National Park Service, Idaho’s Certified Local Government (CLG) program empowers communities to preserve and celebrate their unique histories. Through the CLG program, local governments play an active role in the National Register of Historic Places, gain a stronger voice in federally funded projects, and access annual grant opportunities that support a wide range of local preservation initiatives.In the Certified Local Government Grant program, communities use these grants for a wide range of projects including: surveys, National Register nominations, preservation planning resources, and even some bricks-and-mortar projects.

The Idaho State Historical Society (ISHS) aids cultural and historical organizations in preserving, interpreting, and promoting the history of Idaho through strong partnerships, connecting people with events, ideas, places, and stories of the past, through projects that are meaningful to their communities, Idahoans, and visitors.
The ISHS Community Enhancement Grants (CEG) support historical organizations in their efforts and projects focused on preserving and interpreting community history. The CEG program provides funds annually for collections management, educational programming, public access, interpretive enhancements, and heritage tourism.
