Rosedale Congregational Church Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund was created to assist students who live in the Rosedale and Argentine neighborhoods who are pursuing higher education at a community college, university or vocational/technical school.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant opportunity for schools across the US to implement the PLTW Gateway program for the first time. With total funding of $9,100, the grant covers participation fees and training registration costs. Schools, including public, private, and charter, are encouraged to apply, particularly those serving low-income and minority majority populations. This initiative aims to enhance educational pathways in STEM for diverse student groups.

First Bank Kansas Scholarship

The First Bank Kansas Scholarship was established to provide assistance to students who are currently enrolled in good standing at Kansas Wesleyan University, Salina, KS with a preference to students working toward a degree in business.

Brandmeyer Scholarship

The Brandmeyer Scholarship provides financial assistance to students who have faced adversity and view education as a tool to help change the trajectory of their lives. Our scholars are seeking a brighter future by continuing their education at a two-year or four-year college or university (pursuing an associate, undergraduate and/or graduate degree) or at a vocational or technical school.

The Brandmeyer Scholarships are renewable provided students maintain a 3.0+ GPA each semester and give back by completing at least 10 hours of community service annually.

The Patterson Foundation offers Assistance Dog Program Grants to support organizations providing service animals to veterans and individuals with disabilities. Funding is available for projects that expand capacity, personnel costs related to puppy training, and program support aimed at improving client experiences. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) non-profits and can request grants up to $35,000 for capital projects or $10,000 for program support. Applications are accepted through a two-step process.

Midwest Nursing Research Society (MNRS)

The MNRS originally began to provide a place for nurses to collaborate, and collaborate they did! Over time, the founding members began to realize the benefits of having an organization dedicated specifically to nursing research. With some careful attention and a lot of hard work, we have grown into the organization it is today. We're a society where scientists, innovators, and drivers of clinical practice across the career trajectory, come together to share ideas and grow our field through innovative research.

The mission of the MNRS is to generate knowledge, translate evidence into practice, and enhance careers through collaborative engagement, implementation, and dissemination among diverse scholars. Our Vision to be the premier society that advances science, fosters leadership, and drives dissemination to improve health equity for all people.

The Lifetime Achievement Award recognizes an MNRS member who has significantly advanced the profession of nursing either through an extensive program of research or creation of environments where research can flourish, and whose sustained leadership and distinguished career yielded outstanding and noteworthy accomplishments.

C.L. Clark Scholarship

For graduates of a Saline County, KS, high school attending the University of Kansas School of Law or Washburn University School of Law.

Background

C.L. Clark was a native Kansan. Born in Paxico in 1908, he graduated from Washburn Law School in 1931, and practiced law for 53 years in Salina. He and James P. Mize were the co-founders of the Salina law firm of Clark, Mize & Linville, Chartered. During his career, Mr. Clark was recognized as a leading banking, business, tax, and corporate attorney. He was heavily involved in community activities, serving on the boards of numerous civic organizations, and he also served as Salina’s city attorney in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Mr. Clark passed away in 2004 at the age of 96. He was at one and the same time a very passionate and compassionate man, constantly championing the rights of minorities and the underprivileged. This scholarship is given in the hopes that the recipients will use it to further not only their legal educations, but also the standards of excellence maintained by Mr. Clark on a daily basis for over half a century – legal skills, integrity, character, credibility, ethics, and compassion for the less fortunate.

The Southern Plains Grassland Grant Program, led by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation (NFWF), aims to conserve and restore vital grasslands in the Southern Great Plains. Collaborating with nonprofit organizations and ranching communities, the program enhances ecosystem health and resilience while providing financial resources. TC Energy’s Build Strong program supports vital organizations in communities near its operations. By providing grants, scholarships, and in-kind support, the program aims to enhance safety, education, environmental protection, and community well-being. Eligible applicants include non-profits and community groups addressing local needs. Ineligible activities include operational expenses and for-profit endeavors. The program prioritizes projects demonstrating measurable community impact, fostering a collaborative relationship between TC Energy and local stakeholders.

The Federal S.T.O.P. Violence Against Women Grant (S.T.O.P. VAWA) aims to enhance law enforcement and prosecution strategies to address violent crimes against women. Funding is allocated as follows: 25% for law enforcement, 25% for prosecution, 5% for courts, and 30% for nonprofit victim service organizations, with 15% discretionary. Eligible applicants include state and local governments, Native American tribes, and nonprofit organizations, with a 25% match required for most projects.

Alma Olson & Michael T. Olson Scholarship

For students attending or planning to attend Fort Hays Tech North Central (Hays or Beloit Campus), pursuing a building trade degree.

Background

The Olson family lived and farmed in Cloud County, Kansas for many years. Alma Olson raised four children – Michael, Mary, Viola and Gladys. At the age of 13, when his father died, Michael took responsibility for his family farm and helped his mother with the home and cousins who had come to live with them. Michael was a skilled farmer and a generous man.

The Excellence in Diversity, Equity, & Inclusion Award

The purpose of the Excellence in Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Award is to recognize the contribution of a member who has demonstrated outstanding commitment and made significant contributions to advance equitable health outcomes and reduce health disparities through research, which has enhanced the science and practice of nursing in the MNRS region.  

The Mutual Self-Help Housing Technical Assistance Grants in Kansas support local organizations in helping low-income families build their own homes. By providing technical assistance, these grants enable participants to engage in self-help housing projects in rural areas, ensuring they are actively involved in the construction process. Eligible applicants include government nonprofits, federally-recognized tribes, and private nonprofits, making this program a crucial resource for community-driven housing solutions.

R. E. (Rosey) Roseberry and Eileen E. Roseberry Scholarship Fund at the College of the Ozarks

R. E. (Rosey) Roseberry and Eileen E. Roseberry Scholarship Fund provides scholarship support to residents of Kansas or Missouri who are enrolled as full time students at the College of the Ozarks in Point Lookout, Missouri. Eligible applicants must have been residents of Kansas or Missouri for at least ten years at the time of application and must maintain continuous enrollment with a minimum 2.5 GPA to remain eligible. Scholarship award amounts vary, recipients may reapply in subsequent years, and the fund is administered through the Franklin County Community Foundation, supporting students in pursuing their postsecondary education.

Jack's Community Grants, managed by the Jack in the Box Foundation, seeks to empower youth in local communities by providing funding to 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations. These organizations must focus on feeding, educating, and empowering youth and operate within 50 miles of a Jack in the Box restaurant. The Foundation promotes originality and opportunity while ensuring that applicants adhere to a nondiscrimination policy. The WaterSMART: Desalination Construction Projects initiative by the Bureau of Reclamation aims to enhance water supply reliability through cooperative funding and support for desalination facilities. Kansas nonprofits and public agencies running community service programs can apply for Kansas Volunteer Commission’s AmeriCorps Operational Grant to engage AmeriCorps members in evidence-informed interventions. Scholarship recipients are eligible to reapply as part of the total applicant pool as long as they maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA.

• Preference will be given to previous scholarship recipients.
• Recipients may receive this scholarship for a maximum of 8 semesters total.

Kansas Federation of Republican Women Scholarship

For any Kansas registered Republican female college student entering at least her junior year, or who is attending graduate school at a Kansas college or university with a declared major of Political Science, History, Public Administration, Healthcare, Law, or Education

Background

The Kansas Federation of Republican Women is the statewide arm of the National Federation of Republican Women and the local clubs in Kansas. Kansas clubs help with registering people to vote, working at polling places, driving citizens to the polls and numerous community service projects, including many literacy projects. In 2005 a Scholarship Fund was established so that the membership could assist a young woman from Kansas to continue her education at a Kansas college or university, per the requirements in the scholarship form.

reJOYCE KC Foundation Scholarship Fund

The purpose of this fund is to honor all those in the profession of nursing. In addition, recognizing the legacy of Joyce Ann Maurer whose dedication and passion for her patients, family, and advancement in nursing education paved a trailblazing path for others to follow. This fund will assist students pursuing higher education to become an RN, BSN, or NP.

The Community Facilities Grant Program in Kansas provides essential funding to develop crucial community facilities in rural areas, enhancing quality of life. Eligible entities include public bodies and non-profits in areas with populations under 20,000. Funding can cover construction, improvement, or equipment purchases for facilities such as health care centers, community support services, and educational institutions. This program aims to support rural development, ensuring access to necessary services for all residents.

The Kansas Military Service Scholarship offers financial assistance for tuition and fees at public Kansas institutions for residents who have served in military operations since September 11, 2001. Eligible applicants must have received hostile fire pay for at least 90 days, or have been discharged honorably. Students must maintain enrollment in a qualified program and remain in good academic standing. Funding is available for up to four academic years, with specific deadlines for application submissions.

Hale Family Sunflower Promise Scholarship

The Hale Family Sunflower Promise Scholarship was established to provide assistance to students who have completed two years at a Kansas community college and are furthering their education at a four-year secondary institution in Kansas.

Applicants must submit an essay outlining what they want to accomplish with their education and how they hope to make Kansas a better place through their accomplishments.
