Focus Areas that OBT Grants Will Support

Grants may support operations, programming, and/or capital projects for eligible 501(c)(3) organizations operating within northeast Minnesota. Grant proposals must be for work in one or more of the following OBT focus areas.

• Food. Organizations and programs that directly operate meal sites and food pantries to meet basic daily needs (large, region- and state-wide food bank activities are NOT included).
• Shelter. Organizations and programs that provide short-term and emergency shelter beds for people who are housing insecure or facing homelessness.
• Low-income healthcare clinics. Organizations and programs that primarily provide affordable medical, dental, and mental health services to people with limited financial resources or who are uninsured/under-insured.
• Disability services. Organizations and programs that support people with physical/cognitive disabilities.
• School-based mental health. Organizations and programs that have established school-based mental health services.

The Foundation for Pennsylvania Watersheds Grant Program supports local initiatives aimed at conserving and restoring Pennsylvania's vital water resources. Since 1995, the foundation has provided matching grants to nonprofit organizations, enhancing the health of local streams and ensuring clean water for future generations. Eligible applicants must be IRS 501(c)(3) nonprofits, focusing on areas from the Ohio border to the Susquehanna River, while individuals and government agencies are ineligible for funding.

From data-driven, home-grown regional strategies to technical assistance, Texas Health Community Impact collaborates with community leaders to offer creative grant opportunities to North Texas organizations with a mutual desire to transform health and well-being in innovative ways.

Texas Health Community Impact Grants (Request for Proposals)

Texas Health Community Impact requests proposals to fund local organizations collaborating on innovative solutions that address barriers to community health and wellbeing. Up to $5 million is available across nine counties for the 2027-2028 grant cycle.

These community health improvement grants are made possible by Texas Health Resources—a faith‑based, nonprofit health system that cares for more patients in North Texas than any other provider.

Key Requirements

Applications must fulfill four key requirements: 1. Propose an innovative approach. 2. Demonstrate a collaborative effort between two or more organizations. 3. Align with strategic priorities. 4. Promote sustainability. Read Grant Key Requirements.

Project Implementation

Applicants must demonstrate the ability to begin implementing activities within four months of the execution of the MOU. Exceptions may be considered on a case-by-case basis.

Prior Applicants

Organizations that applied for a previous Texas Health Community Impact grant cycle and were not awarded are eligible to apply. 

Request for Proposals by Region

The Texas Health Community Impact Grant requests proposals by regions: 1) Collin Region; 2) Dallas and Kaufman Region; 3) Denton, Wise and Parker Region; 4) Southern Region; and 5) Tarrant Region.

Texas Health is investing a total of $5 million in grants across its five regions, which spans nine counties. Groups seeking to work collaboratively on innovative upstream approaches to address priorities identified in each region are encouraged to apply for this competitive funding opportunity.

Tarrant Region

Grants that advance to the funding stage must demonstrate innovative solutions that remove barriers, expand access to chronic disease services, and achieve measurable improvements in health outcomes.

Grantmaking Approach, Goals, and Objectives

Texas Health Community Impact funding is not intended to replace lost funding. Texas Health does recognize that non-profits’ budgets have been affected by recent changes and acknowledge the great work that is being done by Tarrant non-profits and community-based organizations to serve communities in need; however, we are focused on innovative, disruptive programs that are not already in place.

In Tarrant County, the strategic priority is to maximize access to chronic disease services for adults 18 and older by addressing one or more of the following non-medical drivers of health in ZIP code clusters 76010 & 76011, 76104 & 76105, and/or 76119:

• Healthcare access, navigation & literacy
• Transportation
• Connectedness
• Food insecurity

The ACFM General Support Program provides funding ranging from $2,000 to $20,000 for organizations committed to contemporary American concert music and jazz. It supports performing ensembles, presenters, and music service organizations that enhance public appreciation of these genres. Eligible applicants must have a minimum of two years of programming history and a professional operational level. Activities must occur within the specified support year of September 1, 2026, to August 31, 2027.

The Park Foundation Grants: Sustainable Ithaca aims to support initiatives fostering a fully sustainable community in Ithaca and Tompkins County. The foundation prioritizes projects that integrate environmental, social, and economic systems, with a focus on accessibility for low-income and communities of color. Eligible organizations must be 501(c)(3) non-profits, and grants are limited to local sustainability projects. Proposals outside Tompkins County are generally not considered.

Healthy Communities Delaware

Healthy Communities Delaware (HCD) is pleased to announce this Request for Proposals for work that advances community level-change and improves the Vital Conditions that all people and communities need to thrive—humane housing, lifelong learning, a thriving natural environment, meaningful work and wealth, basic needs for health and safety, reliable transportation, a sense of belonging and civic muscle. This funding aims to support projects that align with their mission of working with communities, investors and systems to create thriving places for thriving people.

The Environmental Quality Incentives Program (EQIP) by the USDA's Natural Resources Conservation Service of Vermont provides crucial technical and financial assistance to farmers and forest landowners. This program aims to integrate conservation practices into working lands, addressing vital natural resource concerns like soil health, water quality, and habitat improvement. With year-round application acceptance, EQIP supports sustainable agriculture while enhancing resilience against climate change, offering a pathway for organic producers and those transitioning to organic farming.

Proposition 4 – Wildfire and Forest Resilience is a funding opportunity offered by the California San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy. It aims to support projects focused on watershed improvement, wildfire resilience, and forest restoration while promoting workforce development for disadvantaged communities. Applicants must submit a Concept Proposal followed by a Full Application if selected. This initiative enhances ecological health and creates career pathways in vulnerable populations.

The Russell Sage Foundation's Core Research Grants support innovative research in Behavioral Science and Decision Making. This program emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches, inviting insights from economics, psychology, sociology, and law to enhance our understanding of decision-making processes across various societal contexts. Applications are open to scholars with a doctorate, focusing on critical issues such as policing, housing, and immigration, while encouraging a blend of theoretical and empirical research to inform public policy.

The Richard M. Fairbanks Foundation Grant Program focuses on enhancing the vitality of Indianapolis through targeted grantmaking in education, health, and economic development. The program prioritizes support for tax-exempt organizations that align with its goals, addressing critical issues such as public health, academic outcomes, and workforce development. By fostering collaboration and sharing data-driven insights, the Foundation aims to create a more vibrant, equitable city where all residents can thrive.

The Texas A&M Forest Service invites proposals for the 2026 Community Forestry Grants Program, aimed at enhancing urban and community forestry across Texas. This program focuses on sustainable tree planting initiatives that increase canopy coverage, improve public health, and address sustainability issues such as climate and water quality. By applying, communities not only enhance their environments but also contribute to their resilience and well-being, fostering healthier urban ecosystems.

The Louisiana Agricultural Workforce Development Program supports businesses in establishing internship programs, fostering the next generation of agriculture professionals. This initiative provides financial assistance, reimbursing up to 50% of intern hiring costs, with a maximum award of $5,000. Eligible businesses include agricultural producers and related entities, while interns must be Louisiana students or beginning farmers. The program operates annually from July 1st to August 31st, promoting hands-on experience in the agriculture sector.

The Chicago White Sox Grant aims to improve the lives of Chicago's underserved communities through funding for programs in child abuse prevention, health and wellness, youth education, and cancer research. With over $47 million distributed, the grant seeks qualified nonprofit organizations that demonstrate strong financial health and impactful outcomes. Interested parties should prepare for the 2027 grant cycle, as inquiries for the 2026 cycle are no longer accepted, with reviews starting in June 2026.

The Marcia and Otto Koehler Foundation Grant supports 501(c)(3) public charities focused on medical research, arts promotion, and youth development in San Antonio. Eligible organizations must skip one grant cycle before reapplying. The foundation prioritizes projects that enhance the physical, mental, and moral well-being of local youth. Notably, it does not fund individuals or organizations involved in political lobbying. This grant offers a vital opportunity for community support in various essential sectors.

The Wildfire Prevention Grant Program, managed by the California San Gabriel and Lower Los Angeles Rivers and Mountains Conservancy, focuses on enhancing wildfire resilience and environmental protection. Key priorities include safeguarding native forests, supporting community fire safety, and promoting sustainable land use. Funding categories cover fire prevention planning in urban and wildland areas, alongside forest health initiatives. The Career Development Bridge Funding Award: K Supplement, offered by the Rheumatology Research Foundation, supports junior investigators transitioning to independent research. Awarded up to $50,000 annually for a maximum of two years, it supplements NIH K series or VA CDA awards. Eligible applicants must hold a doctoral degree and be in the second, third, or fourth year of their existing award. The NFL Grants program, in partnership with the Bob Woodruff Foundation, is dedicated to supporting veterans, service members, and their families. This initiative funds programs aimed at improving health and well-being, enhancing opportunities, and reducing barriers to care. Organizations providing direct services to the military community can apply for funding, ensuring financial responsibility and sustainability. Grants are awarded twice a year, with applications reviewed year-round.

The Woods Hole Oceanographic Institution Sea Grant is inviting proposals for innovative two-year research projects aimed at addressing coastal issues in Massachusetts. With a focus on healthy ecosystems, sustainable fisheries, and environmental literacy, the program seeks to enhance the conservation and practical use of marine resources. Approximately $1 million is available for funding, requiring a match of non-federal funds. This initiative emphasizes the importance of community engagement and the application of research results beyond academia.

The Bernie Bahr Forestry and Natural Resources Scholarship, managed by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, awards a $1,000 grant to undergraduate students pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Forestry or related fields. Eligible applicants must have completed at least two years of college and maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5. Preference is given to graduates from specific high schools in Missouri. The Native Arts & Cultures Foundation's LIFT program offers critical support to early career Native artists through one-year grants of $10,000. The Lakes and Rivers Planning Grants, offered by the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources, provide vital funding for surface water protection and restoration projects. These grants support a variety of initiatives, including education, ecological assessments, and invasive species control. Whether you're developing organizational capacity or implementing specific projects, this program enables you to enhance Wisconsin's natural resources effectively. The Libra Foundation Grant, established by Elizabeth Noyce in 1989, focuses on supporting charitable organizations in Maine. As of June 20, 2025, the foundation will pause new applications for one year while reassessing its funding priorities. It aims to provide small grants to diverse causes in areas such as arts, education, health, and more, thus empowering communities and enhancing the quality of life for all Maine citizens.

Nonmedical Drivers of Health Grant 

Through the Nonmedical Drivers of Health Grant, nonprofit organizations can apply for support focused on one of two grant priority pillars: Healthy Neighborhoods or Education & Economic Empowerment. This funding is programmatic support for services provided to the Greater Houston area. Applicants must clearly describe how the funding will impact the community and must be able to track unique individuals served and program outcomes. 

Education & Economic Empowerment Grants

Houston Methodist’s Education and Economic Empowerment grants include direct services programs that are designed to increase economic mobility. Poverty is one of the biggest upstream nonmedical drivers of health outcomes, and an individual’s ability to reach economic goals and secure livable wage jobs increases the chances that their family will have access to healthcare and positive health outcomes. Under this priority pillar, ideal programs for funding include programs that empower community members to achieve education and employment goals that will lead to better paying jobs, long term career pathways, and greater economic mobility.

In keeping with our mission, the DNR is dedicated to working with Wisconsinites while preserving and enhancing the natural resources of Wisconsin. In partnership with individuals and organizations, DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air and water resources while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor opportunities.

Land Acquisition & Conservation Easements

Grants under this subprogram provide funding for permanent protection of land associated with lakes and rivers. Grants may be used for the acquisition of property or some property rights (also called easements) to protect lakes, rivers, and their ecosystems in perpetuity. Land acquisition projects are reviewed and processed by local environmental grant specialists. 

Grants may cover 75% of eligible project costs.
