Midwest Asset Management University Program

Operating, maintaining, and preserving affordable housing is complex and requires a specialized set of skills and a deep organizational commitment to asset management. Today, affordable housing providers face a variety of economic, operational, and compliance challenges, including rising operating costs, rental arrears, staffing shortages, and an aging portfolio.

Enterprise is launching its first Asset Management University (AMU) Program in the Midwest (Illinois, Indiana, Wisconsin, Missouri, and/or Minnesota) in March 2026 to support mission-aligned, affordable housing providers in meeting these challenges in their efforts to provide housing stability to residents and preserve the long-term affordability of properties.

The Midwest AMU is a comprehensive, five-month training program that seeks to strengthen the asset and property management capabilities of participating housing providers, improving organizations’ capacity to oversee the financial, physical, and operational health of their housing portfolios.

Midwest Asset Management University Cohort 

Enterprise is excited to offer this application for participation in the Asset Management University (AMU) Cohort (the “Cohort”). Up to fifteen (15) eligible organizations will be selected for this Cohort and will receive access to online training offered by the Consortium of Housing and Asset Management (CHAM), peer learning opportunities, and post-training technical assistance.

The Bayer Fund Health & Wellness Grant Program aims to support organizations that provide education and resources for patients and caregivers facing cancer and cardiovascular diseases. Grants focus on assisting communities, particularly the African American population, in managing these health issues. Funding covers educational services, disease awareness, and access to care, with all activities to commence post-funding decisions. Eligible organizations must hold a 501(c)(3) status and operate within 55 miles of Bayer sites.

The Jelley Family Foundation Endowment for Children's Education Fund, established in 2013 by Dr. Carl Jelley, supports educational initiatives for children in Eastern Jackson County, Missouri. On November 26, 1997, a small group of citizens with an abundance of enthusiasm embarked on a mission to secure the quality of life in our region now and forever. By yearend, they had a modest $1,050. Through commitment and vision, the Quincy Area Community Foundation expanded and grew to become the Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri. 

Serving 12 counties on both sides of the Mississippi River, we operate as a bridge between our donors’ charitable visions and the nonprofit organizations that bring those visions to life. 

Robert & Barbara Girouard Endowment

About the Fund

Enlisting in the United States Air Force was one of the best decisions Robert (Bob) and Barbara (Barb) Girouard ever made. In fact, the two met at Iraklion Air Station in Crete, Greece and credit the military for creating an “avenue of success”.

“We have been so incredibly blessed. Serving in the Air Force gave us job opportunity, education and lifelong friends that we never imagined we would have growing up, so now we feel it is time to give something back,” said Barb.

When Bob and Barb were looking to make a difference in the community where they have spent their adult life, they decided to create an endowment fund at the Community Foundation to support veterans in West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri by establishing the Robert and Barbara Girouard Endowment.

Grant Purpose

The Robert & Barbara Girouard Endowment provides financial support to postsecondary and vocational training institutions for the support of Veterans’ education. Grants may be used to provide financial assistance for honorably discharged Veterans, including tuition, books, fees, and related expenses for honorably discharged Veterans or for the support of educational or vocational training and programs offered to Veterans.

The THCF Community Grants program offers funding for up to three years for eligible 501(c)(3) nonprofits and local government organizations in Eastern Jackson County. Proposals can focus on areas such as arts, education, community betterment, and health services. Notably, applicants may only seek funding from one grant program, either Community Grants or the Jelley Family Foundation Grants, starting in 2024. This initiative aims to foster community growth and support diverse local projects.

The THCF: Community Grants for Wildlife Conservation supports initiatives across Missouri, encouraging proposals that enhance regional wildlife efforts. Starting in 2024, organizations can apply for funding for up to three consecutive years, promoting sustainability and impactful conservation projects. Eligible applicants include nonprofits dedicated to improving wildlife habitats and conservation strategies. This program aims to foster collaboration and maximize funding impacts to benefit the local ecosystem and communities throughout the state.

United Way of Greater St. Louis

Safety Net

United Way’s Safety Net is a collaborative network of agencies that deliver an array of essential direct services to address the region’s most pressing needs, helping families and individuals remain and work toward stability. Safety Net agencies provide direct services that address basic, urgent needs – such as access to food and housing— as well as supports that help move individuals and families toward stability, including education, health and well-being, workforce access, and financial mobility.

Safety Net Funding

United Way of Greater St. Louis is now accepting applications for its Safety Net Funding cycle and invites all eligible agencies across its 16-county region in Missouri and Illinois, including those not currently receiving United Way funding, to apply. United Way equips 160 local nonprofits with vital funding and training resources to support measurable impact across its five impact areas. Organizations selected will receive a three-year contract and become part of the UWGSL member agency network.

The Kerr Foundation Inc. offers grants to 501(c)3 organizations, focusing on education, arts, health, and human services. Priority is given to Oklahoma entities, but applications from neighboring states and Washington D.C. are also accepted. The foundation supports various project types, including capital, program, and operating expenses. Note that back-to-back grants are not allowed, enforcing a three-year gap for reapplication after funding. This ensures a broad and impactful reach for community development.

Community Foundation of the Quincy Area

My Community Foundation (also known as The Community Foundation Serving West Central Illinois & Northeast Missouri) is a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to improving quality of life in the communities it serves by connecting compassionate donors with meaningful causes. The foundation works with individuals, families, businesses, and nonprofit partners to gather charitable contributions, grow those funds through professional investment strategies, and grant the earnings in ways that address local needs now and into the future. It builds and manages permanent endowments tailored to donors’ goals, ensuring their philanthropic visions—whether honoring a loved one, establishing a legacy, or supporting community needs—are realized. Serving a 12-county region across West Central Illinois and Northeast Missouri, the foundation acts as a steward of charitable assets, helping donors make a lasting impact through customized giving opportunities, community grants, and strategic support for nonprofit organizations.

AgForward Program for Agricultural Education

AgForward Program for Agricultural Education provides grant funding to support education, innovation, and workforce development in the field of production agriculture. Grants from the fund will promote and benefit education relating to production agriculture at any educational level throughout the Community Foundation’s service area. Funded programs must directly involve and/or impact students. Grants must be for project or program support. Grants may not be used for scholarships or general operating support.

Priority will be given to applicants whose proposals demonstrate one or more of the following:

• Educational projects and programs that seek to advance the field of production agriculture in the Community Foundation’s service area.
• Programs to encourage or inspire agricultural careers and/or to develop a skilled agricultural workforce at any education level.
• The development of and training in technologies and techniques that will enable agriculture to be more productive, efficient, and safe.

The Elevance Health Foundation's Food as Medicine Grant aims to enhance access to nutritious foods and improve health outcomes for individuals facing diet-related conditions. This initiative invites qualified nonprofits to submit proposals focused on scalable solutions that address food insecurity and promote health equity. The foundation prioritizes programs that demonstrate measurable outcomes and support whole-person health, particularly for populations at high social risk. Grants will be awarded for a term of 1-3 years, with funding based on program needs.

The Employees Community Fund (ECF) of The Boeing Company supports charitable organizations in the St. Louis area through grants focused on Health and Human Services, Education, Arts & Culture, and Civic Engagement. Applications for 2024 will be accepted from April 1 to June 30, with odd-numbered years prioritizing health initiatives. ECF has invested over $165 million in the community, empowering employees to make a significant impact through collaborative giving.

The Research Foundation is launching community grants to enhance health access and equity in Kansas City, particularly for Jackson County residents. Eligible nonprofit organizations can receive support for programs that align with the foundation's priorities, including a 10% allowance for indirect costs. The focus is on health-centric missions, ensuring the funding promotes care access and workforce retention in the healthcare sector, while adhering to the foundation's guidelines.

The Community Foundation of Central Missouri (CFCM) offers the Impact Grant, a $5,000 funding opportunity designed to significantly address critical issues in mid-Missouri. This grant focuses on human capacity development for disadvantaged individuals or arts initiatives. Eligible applicants must be 501(c)(3) organizations based in central Missouri and operational for at least five years. Projects may target equal opportunity, education, and senior services, among others, adapting to community needs over time.

The L-A-D Foundation Grant Program, established in 1962, is dedicated to conserving the natural and cultural resources of the Missouri Ozarks. Through partnerships and community support, the Foundation has awarded over $600,000 in grants to eligible 501(c)(3) organizations. Projects may focus on conservation education, community engagement, and innovative initiatives within a 12-county service area. The program encourages applications that align with its mission to enhance ecological and cultural sustainability.

The Christine and Katharina Pauly Charitable Trust Grant supports educational, health, and human services for underserved populations in Springfield, Missouri. Established in 1985, it prioritizes programs benefiting children and older adults, focusing on systemic school improvement, effective healthcare delivery, and strengthening community safety nets. Grants typically last one year, with special consideration for organizations with operating budgets under $1 million. This trust aims to enhance the quality of life for vulnerable populations in the region.
