Award: Five (5) applicants will be awarded a $1,500 renewable scholarship. Once awarded, applicants may renew their scholarship for one (1) additional year if the below requirements are met.

American Society of Plant Biologists

Mission

The American Society of Plant Biologists was founded in 1924 to promote the growth and development of plant biology, to encourage and publish research in plant biology, and to promote the interests, growth, and education of plant scientists in general. Over the decades the Society has evolved and expanded to provide a forum for molecular and cellular biology as well as to serve the basic interests of plant science. It publishes the highly cited and respected journals Plant Physiology and The Plant Cell. Membership spans six continents, and our members work in such diverse areas as academia, government laboratories, and industrial and commercial environments. The Society also has a large student membership. ASPB plays a key role in uniting the international plant science disciplines.

ECPS Travel Award

The Early Career Plant Scientists section of ASPB is currently accepting applications for travel awards for the annual meeting in Ottawa, July 18-22.

Priority will be placed on funding students, but all eligible Early Career Researchers will be considered.

Cameron Holland Scholarship Fund

The Cameron Holland Memorial Scholarship is established to remember Cameron and recognize a Ralston Valley senior student who has established academic, athletic and character traits that are complementary to Cameron’s memory. Cameron was dedicated to academic achievement, participated in football and track and had a kind and generous personality. 

This scholarship is a one-time award. Award amounts may be used toward the recipient’s tuition, fees, required books and supplies, room and board, and other qualified educational expenses. Award must be used for the upcoming academic year.

Scholarships will be awarded once each year through a competitive process based on:

• Academics
• Athletic engagement
• Kind, sensitive, and respectful character

The Indiana Elks Vocational Grant provides essential financial support to Indiana high school seniors seeking vocational education. Offering ten scholarships of $1000 each, this program encourages students to pursue two-year vocational or technical programs, fostering career readiness without requiring affiliation with the Elks. Since its inception, the grant has recognized the diverse educational goals of students, promoting opportunities for those not interested in traditional four-year degrees. This initiative exemplifies the Elks' commitment to enhancing community welfare through education.

The OREF Michael P. Kelly Sr Leadership Fellowship Program is a one-year virtual fellowship aimed at developing leadership skills in orthopedic residents. The program includes individual coaching, clinical research mentoring, educational opportunities, and an annual leadership retreat. It prioritizes candidates like orthopedic residents (PGY3-PGY5), fellows, and early-career surgeons who show a commitment to orthopedic clinical research and leadership in the orthopedic community.

The SAA First Book Award, presented by the Shakespeare Association of America (SAA), honors the legacy of Jerome Singerman and supports early career scholars. This prestigious award recognizes the best monograph with a significant Shakespeare component, published as the first book by a current SAA member between September 1, 2024, and September 1, 2025. The award will be announced during the SAA’s Annual Luncheon, celebrating contributions to Shakespeare studies.

The J. Leeds Barroll Dissertation Prize, awarded by the Shakespeare Association of America, honors exemplary doctoral work with a significant focus on Shakespeare. This prestigious award is conferred annually during the SAA’s Annual Luncheon. To be eligible, applicants must be SAA members in good standing, and dissertations must be approved between September 1, 2024, and September 1, 2025. This prize encourages innovative research and scholarship in Shakespeare studies.

The Faculty Travel Grant for AGU Annual Meeting supports early-to-mid career faculty from under-resourced institutions, including community colleges and minority-serving institutions. This program aims to facilitate attendance at the AGU Annual Meeting, which attracts over 22,000 geoscience professionals globally. Awardees receive a $1,700 travel stipend, access to professional development workshops, and networking opportunities, enabling them to enhance their research and teaching capabilities through collaboration and innovation.

Susan McGraw Habitat for Humanity Scholarship

The Susan McGraw Scholarship is need-based and is available only to individuals or family members living within a Habitat community in Berthoud, Fort Collins, or Loveland and who seek to further their education to enhance their employment prospects. The scholarship is open to students pursuing any kind of secondary education including four-year degrees, two-year degrees, trade schools, single classes, etc. Eligible applicants may receive scholarships for educational, training, or certification programs at accredited institutions, furthering Susan McGraw’s legacy of fostering education and opportunity within the community.

Scholarship awards are one-time awards. The amount awarded to a selected recipient may be used for the cost of attendance. All scholarships will be paid directly to the recipient’s school and must be used for the upcoming academic year. Award disbursement is contingent upon the outside scholarship policies of a recipient’s college, trade or technical school or university.

The Small Dams Program by the Lower Platte North NRD offers cost-share funding for landowners to construct small dams for flood control and drainage improvement. Eligible participants can receive up to 65% funding, or 75% in priority watersheds, with a maximum of $15,000 per project. Additional funding may be available based on specific site conditions. This initiative aims to enhance watershed management and support local landowners in sustainable land use practices.

Ipson Tully Memorial Scholarship

The Ipson Tully Memorial Scholarship Scholarship provides support for students from the Salinas Valley to study at the University of California, Berkeley who have strong academic potential, demonstrate community support and require financial support to pursue their studies at University of California, Berkeley. Students who have graduated from Salinas Valley High Schools and Hartnell College and are accepted at University of California, Berkeley are eligible to apply for the scholarship.

Project Lead The Way is offering a rolling grant for schools to implement the PLTW Biomedical Science program for the 2026-2029 academic years. Eligible schools can receive up to $14,000 to cover participation fees and training costs. This grant encourages public, private, and charter schools across the U.S. to enhance their science curriculum, supporting students with engaging, hands-on learning experiences. Schools must commit to offering specific courses during the grant period to qualify for funding.

The Crime Prevention Foundation Grant supports initiatives aimed at reducing crime in Brown County by funding both existing and new programs. Eligible applicants include nonprofit organizations with a 501(c)(3) status or governmental bodies. The foundation seeks to enhance public safety by addressing the elements of desire, ability, and opportunity for crime. However, it does not fund religious activities, individuals, or projects outside of Brown County.

Roy and Linda Funk Scholarship

The Roy and Linda Funk Scholarship Fund was established to assist students in pursuing additional schooling. This scholarship is available to students from the I-70 corridor on the Eastern Plains of Colorado. Students may only receive this award once; past recipients may not reapply.

The Dorothy M. Yothers Second Chances Scholarship, offered by the Washington State Elks Association, aims to support mature women over 25 in achieving their vocational and technical education goals. Each recipient can receive up to $1,000 per quarter, based on financial need, and the scholarship is renewable contingent upon maintaining a GPA of 3.0. This initiative honors the legacy of Dorothy M. Yothers, promoting empowerment and education for women in Washington State.

The Springfield Black Tie Grant Program, organized by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, aims to enhance community support for LGBTQ+ organizations in southwest Missouri. With over $1.5 million allocated to local charities in the past 20 years, the program invites applications for the 2025 event on November 15th. It prioritizes funding innovative projects that improve community life and encourages proposals that directly serve program activities, ensuring vital support for diverse initiatives.

The George H. Nettleton Foundation Grant aims to enhance the quality of life for older adults in the Greater Kansas City area by funding unmet basic needs. The foundation envisions a healthy senior population and invites both new and existing programs to apply. Grants typically average under $100,000 and can extend for a maximum of two years. Agencies must be licensed 501C3 and serve specific counties in Missouri and Kansas.

The Bolivar Area Affiliate Grantmaking Program, supported by the Community Foundation of the Ozarks, aims to enhance community development in the Bolivar and Polk County region. This program invites 501(c)(3) organizations and other IRS-approved entities to apply for grants up to $3,000 to support their initiatives. The foundation focuses on fostering collaboration and effective grantmaking to improve the quality of life for local residents.

The F.I.S.T. Grant, offered by the Steuben County Community Foundation, supports nonprofit and school projects that positively impact the youth of Steuben County. Grants of up to $2,000 are available for initiatives such as educational trips and creative projects that empower youth to give back to their community. Eligible applicants include school employees and nonprofit organizations, with the goal of inspiring the next generation of community leaders.

The Community Foundation’s scholarships are for Arkansas students pursuing education at two- or four-year colleges or universities, vocational schools or technical training programs. Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria. Some scholarships are designated for graduates of a particular high school or those who plan to attend a particular college. Others are based on extracurricular activities or intended college majors.  

The Foundation has a scholarship portal with a quiz to help applicants determine scholarship eligibility.

Elizabeth G. Redman Republican Party of Arkansas Scholarship

For students who are members of or active in the Republican Party of Arkansas.

The Mellon Postdoctoral Fellowship in Literatures in English, offered by Cornell University's Society for the Humanities, invites applications for a two-year position starting August 1, 2026. This fellowship seeks candidates specializing in African American literature and culture, with a preference for those with expertise in gender, sexuality, or media studies. The fellow will conduct research, teach two courses annually, and engage in departmental events and seminars, contributing to the academic community.

The Berkshire Woodworkers Guild Scholarship offers financial support to aspiring professional woodworkers and designers. Established in 1998, this scholarship is funded through generous donations and proceeds from an annual silent auction. Recipients are encouraged to engage with the Guild and showcase their work at events. Preference is given to applicants pursuing comprehensive woodworking programs that lead to certification or degrees, but other professional development opportunities may also be considered.

Lillian McGillicuddy Republican Party of Arkansas Scholarship

The Fond du Lac Area Foundation offers the FDL Unrestricted Grant, supporting impactful projects in Fond du Lac County. Grants range from $500 to $5,000 and focus on practical solutions to community issues. The Foundation encourages collaboration, volunteer involvement, and projects that strengthen local agencies. Proposals should address both prevention and remediation while enhancing the quality of life for residents. Applications are welcomed for initiatives in education, arts, wellness, and more.

The George Family Foundation's Authentic Leadership Grants aim to foster transformative leadership by supporting organizations that align with their mission. The foundation focuses on developing authentic leaders who demonstrate integrity and commitment to social change. They prioritize funding for programs that encourage leadership development across diverse sectors and ensure equitable access to opportunities in higher education, particularly in Minnesota and select areas. Their approach is rooted in building compassionate communities and addressing systemic challenges.

ACS Award in Industrial Chemistry

Purpose

To recognize outstanding contributions to chemical research in the industrial context. Significant creative contribution to chemistry in any field of chemical, chemical engineering, pharmaceutical, or biochemical research is appropriate.

The award consists of $5,000 and a certificate. Up to $2,500 for travel expenses to the meeting at which the award will be presented will be reimbursed.
