Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 104 Undergraduate Studies Scholarship

• Graduating senior, graduating early college student, or current college student from any school system within the Community Foundation’s service area or the following high schools: Fennville, Hamilton, or Saugatuck
• Enrolling/enrolled in a 2 or 4-year degree program at an accredited post-secondary school within the United States
• Financial need, a consideration (encouraged to submit the page of the FAFSA Submission Summary showing the Student Aid Index amount)
• GPA of 2.5 or greater
• Past recipients of this award may reapply.
• Top priority given to students planning to study laenforcement.
• Priority given to the direct descendants (children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, etc.) of present or past Fraternal Order of Police Lodge 104 members.
• Priority given to children of active duty or retired police officers.

The Splendido Residents Association Scholarships aim to support students in Southern Arizona by providing financial assistance for educational pursuits. Applicants must have a minimum GPA of 2.5 and have worked at least 12 hours weekly for six months. Scholarships range from $2,000 to $13,000 based on school type and enrollment status. Recipients can reapply for up to four years, ensuring ongoing support for their academic journeys.

• Planning to major in dance, music, athletic training, business or a major closely related to any of these (for example: management, economics, or kinesiology)

The Rosa Louise Parks Scholarship, offered by the Community Foundation for Southern Arizona, aims to support students in financial need who demonstrate the potential for academic success. This unique scholarship, named after the civil rights icon, is dedicated to high school graduates from Southern Arizona, ensuring that they have the necessary resources to pursue higher education and become future leaders. The IATSE Local 798 Fund offers emergency financial assistance to performing arts and entertainment professionals facing unexpected critical needs. This support helps cover essential living expenses, including housing, utilities, and healthcare, to prevent eviction or service shut-offs. Eligible applicants must be union members for at least two years and have experienced unforeseen financial hardship due to circumstances beyond their control, such as injury or natural disasters.

The Goldmark Equal Access to Justice Internship offers a unique opportunity for 2nd and 3rd year law students to gain hands-on experience in legal aid organizations across Washington State. This 10-week paid internship focuses on essential skills such as research, writing, and client services, while supporting low-income individuals facing legal challenges. The Legal Foundation of Washington is seeking host programs to provide mentorship and guidance, fostering the next generation of legal professionals.

The Knight-Hennessy Scholars program at Stanford University aims to develop visionary leaders by offering full funding for up to three years of graduate study. Each year, 100 scholars are selected based on academic achievement and commitment to global challenges, preparing them to tackle complex issues. This unique opportunity fosters a diverse community of innovators committed to positive change.

The Leadership Coaching Program by Hutchinson Community Foundation provides financial support for individuals and teams to engage with leadership coaches. This initiative aims to foster philanthropy, leadership, and collaboration within Reno County, enabling participants to tackle adaptive challenges effectively. Grants of up to $1,800 are available to cover costs for up to six coaching sessions over six months, facilitating conscious decision-making and action towards community development.

City Hall Plaza Engagement Grant 

As the epicenter of the City of Boston, City Hall Plaza is a place where residents, visitors, and newcomers can participate in arts and cultural events. In response to the ongoing impacts of space inequity and the loss of cultural venues across Boston, the Mayor’s Office of Arts & Culture (MOAC) will provide grants to support programs and events at City Hall Plaza. Through the City Hall Plaza Engagement Grant, MOAC aims to highlight culturally responsive programming that uplifts Boston's diverse communities while repositioning City Hall Plaza as a site for creative growth, capacity-building, and civic belonging.    

City Hall Plaza, formerly known as Scollay Square was once a thriving community intersection filled with artists, activists, sports legends, and cultural venues. Following a redevelopment in the 1950s, many people were left without spaces to gather, work, or create. Today, many organizations and artists continue to experience similar impacts contributing to artist displacement and the downsizing of programs that once served communities across the city.

Through the City Hall Plaza Engagement Grant, MOAC aims to highlight culturally responsive programming that uplifts Boston's diverse communities while repositioning City Hall Plaza as a site for creative growth, capacity-building, and civic belonging.

Funding Structure

Tier One:

• $15,000 or less
• Budgets under $15,000 will fund programmatic costs, such as performing artists fees, photographers/videographers, graphic designers and social media campaigns

Tier Two:

• $15,000-$30,000
• Budgets over $15,000 will fund programmatic costs listed in tier one as well as additional partnerships, contractors or production companies during the planning and development stages.

Tier Three:

• $30,000-60,000
• Budgets above $30,000 will fund general programming costs listed in tier one as well as production costs of small to medium size festivals, a recurring series of programs, or cultural markets. At this tier we encourage at least one community partnership during the planning, development, or production stages.

Tier Four

• $60,000-$100,000
• Budgets above $60,000 will fund programmatic costs of tier three as well as programs that require larger scale production or a standing residency on the plaza with events offered throughout the year. This tier must also include a partnership with a production company as well as individual artists to collaborate during the planning, development, or production stages. No more than two applicants will be awarded grants in Tier Four.  

The National Art Education Foundation (NAEF) is currently on a strategic pause regarding grant proposals until fall 2025. NAEF is committed to enhancing visual arts education through innovative initiatives that support instructional practices, research, and leadership. By promoting professional development and advocating for the inclusion of visual arts in curricula, NAEF aims to enrich the educational landscape for art educators and students alike.

Florida Kiwanis Foundation

The Florida Kiwanis Foundation was created in 1971 by Former Kiwanis Governor Robert Thal. Since 1971, Florida Kiwanis Foundation has been supporting Kiwanis Clubs, Divisions, and students make a real impact in the state of Florida.

Our Purpose: To leave a legacy for the children. We are dedicated to supporting Florida Youth to ensure a brighter future and leave a legacy for the children.

Mission: Help children in need. To enable caring individuals, clubs, and divisions to combine their resources of time, talent, and funds to create a greater impact on the needs of children and families in Florida.

Mini Grants

The Mini Grant program is new and the concept was approved by the Foundation’s Board of Directors during the 2011-2012 administrative year.

The Mini Grant program is less formal than the Matching Grant program and is on a first come first served basis until the funds are exhausted. The Foundation President will make a determination as to the acceptability of any Mini-Grant application, and if approved, funds will be processed immediately.

There is a simple one-page application form for the Mini Grant and the maximum request is $750.00. The amount does not need to be matched by the club nor does the request need to cover capital expenses.

The program was created for assistance to small clubs with little resources. Priority for these awards is given to the smaller clubs, of 35 members or less, with limited service budgets.

• Mini Grants should be used to assist a Kiwanis club within the Florida District of Kiwanis with a project that contributes to the achievement of the Objects of Kiwanis International, specifically, a project that enhances the lives of young children and youth in their community, in accordance with the mission of the Florida Kiwanis Foundation. 
• Mini Grants can be used to assist a Kiwanis club within the Florida District of Kiwanis with a project that supports Aktion Clubs, CKI Clubs, Key Clubs, K-Kids, and Builders (Service Leadership Programs). 

The Special Opportunity Grant, offered by the University of Rochester, supports students in the Catherine Filene Shouse Arts Leadership Certificate program. It funds career-related activities not covered by standard curriculum, such as workshops, professional shadowing, and online courses. This grant prioritizes applications from current Fellows, recent graduates, and those who have not previously received funding, ensuring that diverse opportunities are accessible for skill enhancement.

Matching Grants

The Matching Grant Program requires a formal application from a Kiwanis club or a division from within the Florida District. The current maximum grant allowed is $10,000. This is to allow the greatest distribution of our limited funds. A club or division is only eligible for a grant every 5 years. The funds must be used for capital improvement. The club or division contribution to the project must equal or exceed that of the grant.

The Matching Grants applications are approved in two separate cycles. Cycle I cutoff is December 15 so that the Grant Committee has time to review the applications in time for the mid-winter board meeting (usually held in February). Cycle II cutoff date is June 15 so that the Grant Committee has time to review the applications in time for the DCON Board Meeting (usually in August).

Although it is not a requirement for a club to have contributed to the Foundation Annual Gift program, or have Foundation Sustaining Members on its roster, preference is given to those clubs and divisions that have shown a history of support for the Foundation.

Grants should be used to assist a Florida Kiwanis Club or Division with a project that contributes to the achievement of the Objects of Kiwanis International, specifically, a project that enhances the lives of young children and youth in their community, in accordance with the mission of the Florida Kiwanis Foundation.

The Marine Trades Scholarship, offered by the National Marine Representatives Association (NMRA), supports students pursuing education in marine trades. Since 2008, NMRA has facilitated annual scholarships funded by members and affiliates. This initiative not only encourages academic growth but also fosters professional development through networking events, industry insights, and advocacy support. Applications are accepted each spring, with recipients chosen in the summer, promoting a brighter future for the marine industry.

The 125 Pretrial Success Program, funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, aims to provide case management for eligible participants charged with a criminal offense and granted pretrial release. This program engages court stakeholders to identify participants for voluntary services that assess and link them to necessary resources. With its focus on ongoing communication and collaboration, the initiative strives to support individuals in navigating their legal challenges and achieving self-sufficiency.

The Bring Back the Trades Scholarship is dedicated to addressing the skilled trades shortage by providing $1,500 monthly scholarships to students enrolled in post-secondary skilled trades programs across the United States. Founded by a seasoned business owner, the initiative aims to raise awareness and reshape perceptions of trade careers, ensuring that students have the resources to succeed in vital roles that contribute to the nation's future.

The Live Your Dream Awards, sponsored by Soroptimist International of the Americas, empower women by providing vital monetary assistance for their education and training. Each year, over $3 million is awarded to more than 2,300 women who are the primary financial support for their families. This initiative supports those overcoming significant challenges like poverty and domestic violence, ensuring they have the resources to achieve their dreams and live fulfilling lives.

South Carolina Arts Commission

The mission of the South Carolina Arts Commission is to expand access to the arts and foster creativity for all South Carolinians.

For more than 50 years, the agency has worked to build a thriving arts environment that benefits all South Carolinians, regardless of their circumstances or where they live.

We help artists and arts providers offer unique arts experiences to residents and visitors. From free poetry readings and gallery crawls to sweetgrass basketry workshops and ticketed dance, music, or theatre performances, they create an environment that contributes to quality of life from three “corner” counties of Oconee, Horry, and Beaufort to the 43 arranged inside.

Since 1967, the SCAC has awarded more than $132 million in grants to artists, arts organizations, school districts, schools, and teachers!

Public Art Grants

Purpose

This grant provides support for art that is created intentionally for a space in the public realm, regardless of whether it is situated on public or private property. Projects can be located indoors or outdoors, but must be free and accessible to everyone. Public art projects are limited to murals, sculptures, light installations, and sound installations.

Funding type: Reimbursement.

Use of Funds

Eligible expenses include, but are not limited to:

• Maintenance, repair, and revitalization of existing public art pieces.
• Artist stipends and fees including design, project management, and travel.
• Art installation, fabrication, and associated costs (site preparation, artwork transportation, machinery and equipment rental).
• Consultant and contractor fees (consultants and contractors can include architects, conservators, preservationists, historians, engineers, electricians, lighting consultants, etc.).
• Documentation, marketing, and signage.
• Development of a public art tour.
• Public art focused workshops and programs.

If you are hiring artists or teaching artists

For all grant-funded activities (including group lectures, demonstrations, performances, residencies, and short-term arts teaching experiences), the use of S.C. Arts Directory members is required for school and school district grantees and encouraged for grantees that are organizations.

Artists identified as Verified Teaching Artists on the S.C. Arts Directory have been additionally vetted by SCAC through the submission of sample lesson plans, recorded teaching samples, and letters of recommendation. For any grantee whose grant-funded activities are for K-12 student services, SCAC encourages the use of Verified Teaching Artists. Many school districts require the use of SCAC Verified Teaching Artists for classroom residencies. If working in a school environment, always check with both the individual school and the school district about policies related to hiring artists, arts organizations, and teaching artists.

Indirect Cost Limitation

No more than 10% of the total grant funds may be used for indirect costs (general overhead expenses not directly tied to the project). The remaining 90% must go toward direct costs, which are necessary to carry out the funded project.

• Examples of direct costs: Artist fees, program supplies, travel for project activities, and venue rental.
• Examples of indirect costs: Administrative salaries not directly working on the project, office rent, utilities, and general office supplies.

This ensures that most of the funding directly benefits the project while allowing some flexibility for necessary overhead costs.

Matching Requirements

1:1 (grantee:SCAC)

• Up to 50% of the grantee’s match may be through an in-kind donation of materials and/or contracted services.
• An example of “in-kind” is a contracted fee that is waived or discounted as a donation to your project.
• Another SCAC grant and/or federal funds may not be used to match your award.

The Richard D. Pell Future Veterans Award is awarded to each graduating senior entering any branch of the American Armed Forces following graduation.

A monetary gift card will be awarded to each graduating senior residing in the town of Ripley and entering any branch of the United States Armed Forces following graduation.

Thomas L. Barresi Memorial Scholarship

The Thomas L. Barresi Memorial Scholarship was established by the Dunkirk Chamber of Commerce in honor and memory of its namesake. It benefits students in Chautauqua County who are pursuing degrees in either business or elementary education.

Recipient must be available to receive award in person or award may be forfeited.

The Rewarding Responders Grant, offered by the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, supports emergency response agencies in their safety initiatives. Since 2014, over $500,000 has been awarded to enhance public safety through equipment purchases and professional development. Each project can receive up to $2,000, with applications open to local, county, and volunteer fire, law enforcement, and rescue agencies within the service area. Grants should be utilized within two years to ensure impactful and sustainable safety efforts.

The Community Foundation’s scholarships are for Arkansas students pursuing education at two- or four-year colleges or universities, vocational schools or technical training programs. Each scholarship has its own eligibility criteria. Some scholarships are designated for graduates of a particular high school or those who plan to attend a particular college. Others are based on extracurricular activities or intended college majors.  

The Foundation has a scholarship portal with a quiz to help applicants determine scholarship eligibility.

Arkansas Service Memorial Scholarship

For students who are children of Arkansans who lost their life in service in the state, nation or community.

The PEN/Jacqueline Bograd Weld Award for Biography, presented by PEN America, recognizes outstanding literary works in biography published in the U.S. during the previous year. With a prize of $5,000, this award celebrates authors who demonstrate exceptional narrative and artistic merit through scrupulous research. Since its inception, PEN America has awarded over $370,000 annually, supporting diverse voices in literature and promoting the freedom of expression.
