The Community Priorities Cycle of the Charlevoix County Community Foundation aims to enhance the quality of life for residents through grants to nonprofit organizations, schools, and municipalities. This cycle invites eligible partners to apply for funding for projects that address diverse community needs. Proposals will be evaluated based on organizational impact, capacity, and the comprehensiveness of their plans. The foundation is committed to supporting initiatives that foster positive change in Charlevoix County.

Goodyear Community Funding 

The Goodyear Community Funding Program aims to give financial support to nonprofits serving Goodyear residents, so that the organizations can continue their work for, and in, the Goodyear community. 

• The City allocated $214,400 for community funding grants in the FY26 budget.
• Past grant awards have ranged from $1,500 to $30,000.

The Arts Industry Operating Support grants provide two years of unrestricted funding to strengthen small arts organizations in South Carolina. This support is aimed at enhancing their operational capacity to deliver ongoing arts experiences and services to communities. Eligible organizations must have a primary mission focused on the arts and demonstrate a commitment to providing quality programming. A 1:1 cash match is required, ensuring a sustainable investment in the arts sector.

The Delaware Division of the Arts offers the StartUp Program Grants aimed at strengthening the management capacity of emerging arts organizations in Delaware. This program provides modest support for operating expenses and serves as an entry point for these organizations into the Division's General Operating Support grant program. New applicants are encouraged to contact the Division before submitting a Letter of Intent to ensure a smooth application process.

The NJDEP: It Pay$ to Plug In Grant offers financial support for the acquisition and upkeep of electric vehicle charging stations. Aimed at expanding New Jersey's electric vehicle infrastructure, this initiative encourages residents, businesses, and government entities to transition to electric vehicles, which significantly lower emissions and enhance air quality. In honor of Earth Day, approximately $7.6 million will be allocated for fast chargers, utilizing VW settlement funds and additional financial resources.

The Hope Goddard Iselin Fellowship in Public Horticulture, established in 2013 by the Hope Goddard Iselin Foundation, honors the legacy of its namesake, a pioneer in enhancing urban landscapes. This fellowship supports graduate students engaged in practical research and training at recognized public gardens or similar institutions across the U.S., providing annual funding of $5000. It aims to foster experiential learning and promote the study of public horticulture, thus connecting people with nature.

The General Operating Support (GOS) Grants offer three years of unrestricted funding to arts organizations in South Carolina. These grants aim to strengthen organizations that provide ongoing arts experiences and services. Eligible applicants include various arts organizations focused on producing, presenting, or education. Funding is contingent upon factors like panel review and the size of the applicant's budget, with awards varying annually based on available funds.

The Mary C. Murphy Library Construction Grant, offered by the Minnesota Department of Education, supports public library renovations and construction projects aimed at enhancing accessibility. With funding up to $1 million for improvements and $450,000 for accessibility, this grant prioritizes eliminating architectural barriers and ensuring safe, inviting library environments. The initiative reflects the Department's commitment to equitable education access for all Minnesotans, fostering lifelong learning opportunities within communities.

The Georgia Health Foundation Grant, established in 1985, supports nonprofits in Georgia addressing local health issues while encouraging collaboration. Grants are awarded to organizations eligible under IRS guidelines, focusing on charitable, scientific, or educational purposes. Applicants are urged to propose sustainable programs with regional or national health impacts. Note that the application deadline is June 1, with initial reviews in July. The foundation typically does not fund capital projects or campaigns.

Outstanding Educator Award (2026-05-01)

Since 1985, the AGC Education and Research Foundation has recognized annually an educator who makes a significant mark in the field of construction education. The Outstanding Educator award is based on a nominee’s academic contribution as well as his/her work with students outside of the classroom and involvement with colleagues in the industry.

The Outstanding Educator receives a $5,000 cash award and may name two students as recipients of $2,500 scholarships for the coming academic year. In addition, the recipient will be invited to the annual AGC convention as a guest of the foundation.

The Community Foundation of North Louisiana offers Competitive Arts & Culture Grants to organizations with a revenue of $250,000 or more. These grants aim to enhance access to the arts for underserved populations and improve community quality of life. Eligible programs can request funding for operational, programmatic, or capital expenses, with no maximum or minimum funding limits. Applications must meet specific eligibility criteria, including tax-exempt status and good standing with IRS requirements.

The Grant for Technology Opportunities Program - Capacity Funding aims to enhance digital equity in Austin by providing matching funds to local organizations. This initiative supports projects that increase access to technology, improve digital skills, and expand internet usage among citizens. To be eligible, applicants must be tax-exempt organizations in Austin, comply with City purchasing requirements, and demonstrate alignment with program goals. This grant fosters a community where everyone can participate fully in the digital society.

The Alexander McCausland Charitable Trust Grant supports organizations that promote the humane treatment and care of animals in Roanoke, Virginia, and surrounding areas. Focused on preventing cruelty and ensuring health, protection, and appropriate shelter for animals, the Trust prioritizes grants to 501(c)(3) exempt organizations. Notably, it does not fund entities that engage in euthanasia. This initiative reflects Mr. McCausland's dedication to animal welfare and community support.

The CMAB Community Arts Support Grant Program, managed by the Central Minnesota Arts Board, provides vital funding to enhance arts access in Benton, Sherburne, Stearns, and Wright counties. Established in 1979, this program supports nonprofit arts organizations with grants ranging from $3,000 to $10,000 for operations, administration, and outreach initiatives. Through these funds, CMAB aims to foster community engagement and appreciation for the arts, especially among underserved populations.

The Rapid Response Fund for Movement Building provides urgent financial support to grassroots organizations addressing social justice for low-income residents and people of color. Offering grants of $3,000 to $20,000, projects must show immediate community impact and demonstrate a commitment to racial and economic equity. Applications are processed within 30 days, with projects needing completion within six months. Priority is given to small organizations and collaborative efforts that empower marginalized communities.

The Peru Arts and Culture Fund Grant, established by Maggie Snyder McConnell through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, supports organizations and projects that promote the arts in Miami County. This initiative aims to inspire creativity and cultural engagement within the community, contributing to the growth of local artistic endeavors and enhancing the cultural landscape of the region.

The Grant for Technology Opportunities Program - Mini Funding supports Austin organizations in enhancing technology access, providing digital training, and improving internet connectivity for underserved communities. With individual grants ranging from $5,000 to $10,000, and a total funding pool of $60,000, this initiative aims to foster digital equity and empower residents to fully engage in the digital society. Eligible applicants include incorporated, tax-exempt organizations in Austin with specific revenue limits.

The CBT Community Development Program empowers Basin residents to tackle community challenges and seize opportunities for growth. Established in 1995, this initiative fosters social, economic, and environmental well-being through collaborative efforts. Non-profits, municipalities, and First Nations are eligible to apply, with a focus on projects that demonstrate community impact and fundraising efforts. The program prioritizes strategic and capital projects that enhance community assets, ensuring a sustainable future for the Basin.

The foundation benefits Fayette County through personalized donor services and serves as a supportive community leader, grantmaker, and scholarship provider.

What is a Community Foundation?

Community foundations are grantmaking public charities that are dedicated to improving the lives of people in a defined local geographic area. They bring together the financial resources of individuals, families, and businesses to support effective nonprofits in their communities.About the Grant 

The Idea Fund was created by a donor who is interested in helping teachers achieve a level of creativity in the classroom that allows students of all learning styles to thrive. Particular attention will be paid to applicants who: demonstrate that the funds will be used to address the needs of students in the classroom who may not be the top grade earners; can show the sustainability of the program; and are willing to go beyond traditional teaching styles to reach students. Funds will not be granted to purchase books, magazines, or field trips.

The SC Arts Commission offers Accessibility Grants to assist organizations in making arts programs and facilities accessible to individuals with disabilities. Funded projects may include adaptations such as Braille materials, sign language interpretation, and facility modifications. Eligible applicants include government units and charitable organizations registered in South Carolina. The program emphasizes cash matching and limits awards to one per fiscal year, prioritizing projects in designated Opportunity Initiative Counties.

ADECA Alabama Weatherization Assistance Program

The Alabama Weatherization Assistance Program receives funding from the U.S. Department of Energy and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. ADECA contracts with local community action agencies and the Central Alabama Regional Planning and Development Commission to deliver weatherization assistance to low-income households in all 67 counties across the state.

The mission is to reduce energy costs for low-income households, particularly for the elderly, people with disabilities and families with children, by improving the energy efficiency of their homes while ensuring their health and safety. In order to receive assistance, the applicant’s income must not exceed 200% of the federally established poverty level.

Alabama Weatherization Assistance requires participants agree to minor alterations to their homes based on an assessment and energy audit conducted by trained professionals to determine the most cost-effective means of reducing energy consumption. Health and safety checks are also performed on the home.

Robert H. Moser Essay Award

To honor the late Robert H. Moser, MD (AΩA, Georgetown University, 1969). Awarded to one outstanding essay celebrating the life of a physician like Dr. Moser who has enriched the world through his/her career in medicine.

Background

Dr. Moser organized and worked in one of the first MASH units during the Korean War. He was a pioneering flight controller for NASA during the Project Mercury and Project Apollo space programs, served as Chief of Medicine at Tripler Army Medical Center in Hawaii, and treated patients at the Kalaupapa Leper Colony in Molokai. He was Chief of Medicine at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, editor of JAMA, Executive Vice President of the American College of Physicians and a member of The Pharos Editorial Board.

The Award

One award of $4,500 for an essay highlighting the life of a physician who has enriched the world of medicine. The winning essay will be published in The Pharos. The winning author must submit a W-9 form prior to issuance of the award check.

The Pilot Collaborative Support grant facilitates partnerships between two organizations, promoting collaboration in the arts across a 9-county region. Each organization can apply for up to $12,500, with a total funding of $25,000 available. This initiative aims to enhance cultural engagement and access to the arts, ensuring that projects benefit diverse communities. Eligible applicants include 501(c)3 nonprofits and government entities, fostering innovative projects that enrich the regional arts landscape.

The Smoky Valley Community Enhancement Fund offers unrestricted grants aimed at addressing the needs of the Smoky Valley area, including northern McPherson County and southern Saline County. Established through community contributions, the fund supports diverse charitable projects. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations and individuals engaged in community service. The Foundation prioritizes initiatives that enhance the quality of life in the region, ensuring that funding aligns with its mission to foster community improvement.

The Outreach Volunteer of the Year Award, presented by the American Chemical Society, recognizes exceptional volunteers from local sections and international chapters who educate the public about chemistry. This award highlights the vital contributions of volunteers to the community and promotes scientific outreach. Awardees receive a certificate and a small gift during events, and their achievements are celebrated at the annual ChemLuminary Awards. This initiative aims to inspire future generations and strengthen the chemistry community.

The ASPCA National Shelter Grants Initiative offers up to $2.5 million in grants to support U.S. shelters and their communities. Grants ranging from $10,000 to $95,000 aim to enhance animal outcomes, psychological health, and access to veterinary care. Eligible applicants include non-profit organizations or municipal agencies with facilities for adoptable animals, while foster-based rescue organizations are excluded. This initiative is crucial in assisting shelters during challenging times.

The Lennox Area Community Fund is a charitable endowment established to enhance the vibrancy of our communities and improve the qualify of life for those who call these special places home. Gifts to the fund grow over time thanks to the benefit of a pooled investment that generates long-term asset growth.

A board of local directors oversees the fund and works hand-in-hand with community members and civic leaders to understand needs and explore opportunities throughout the area. Each year, the board awards grants in support of local nonprofits and community-based projects and ideas.
