Glen C. Smith Jr./KCC Caddie Scholarship

The Glen C. Smith Jr./KCC Caddie Scholarship was established at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation in 1985 by the Kalamazoo Country Club Caddie Committee in honor of Glen Smith, Jr. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide scholarship assistance to young people in qualified caddie programs at member clubs of the Golf Association of Michigan and the Western Golf Association.

The St. Peter’s Troop 118 Scouting BSA Scholarship Fund provides an annual scholarship to Boy Scouts who are active in Troop 118 and plan to further their education at a local tuition-based high school in the Kansas City metropolitan area.

This is a one-time scholarship with no option for renewal.

Career Education Scholarships

Frederick County residents studying to enter career education fields may apply to receive scholarships that help pay for training at an accredited trade or technical school, certification exams, tools, and other necessary supplies for study and work in the trade.

Scholarship awards can be used for tuition/training, certification exams, tools and other necessary supplies associated with the upcoming school year. Scholarships are paid directly to a school or vendor. These are the funds that are awarding, however, only one application needs to be submitted.

Wappingers Rotary Scholarship

The Kiwanis Club of Marietta has proudly established and contributed to several scholarship endowments over the years to support deserving college students in our community. These scholarships are made possible through our club's Flag Project, which places over 1,300 American flags in front of homes and businesses five times each year.

Jack Wilson First Generation Scholarship

This scholarship was established in 2024 by the Marietta Kiwanis Foundation in honor of longtime Kiwanian, first-generation student, and beloved community servant Jack Wilson. 

A first-generation student will be designated as a student with neither parent, or legal guardian, having earned a baccalaureate or associate’s degree from an accredited college or university. Selection emphasis will be placed on academic achievement, character, and essay regarding your life story, intended field of study/career, and how you will make an impact on the world.

Community Foundation of Northern Nevada

Established in 1998 as a Nevada nonprofit 501(c) 3 Corporation, the Community Foundation of Northern Nevada has distributed more than $200 million in grants and scholarships from over 300 charitable funds to strengthen our Nevada home. 

Scholarship Program

The Community Foundation of Northern Nevada’s Scholarship Program is intended to help students cover the ever-increasing cost of tuition. Some of our scholarships are based on financial need, but others represent an award for achievement. These scholarships typically go to students who have excelled in an academic area or have shown they can balance academics, volunteer work, and extracurricular activities. There are also scholarships designated for students who have overcome adversity, students pursuing degrees in high-need areas, and adult learners outside the traditional college age group. Community Foundation scholarships can help cover tuition, books, and on-campus housing.

Mary J. Yamamoto Memorial Scholarship

The Mary J. Yamamoto Memorial Scholarship helps young women graduating high school seniors from Nevada and Michigan who will be attending accredited colleges, universities, trade schools to obtain a 2 or 4-year degree or certificate. This scholarship is established in memory of Mary J. Yamamoto to support equal access to education. 

The Nash Bartolomie Industrial Arts Scholarship, established by friends and family, supports students pursuing careers in industrial arts. Offered by the Community Foundation of Mendocino County, this scholarship aims to assist local students with a GPA of 2.5 or higher who demonstrate passion and creativity in fields like carpentry, electronics, and welding. Financial need is considered, and applicants must submit a picture of their industrial art work. This initiative fosters educational and professional development in the community.

The National Cancer Institute (NCI) invites research applications focused on early-onset cancers (ages 18-49), aiming to uncover their etiology and biological mechanisms. This funding opportunity supports studies that explore modifiable risk factors, biological responses, and improved identification of at-risk individuals. The initiative seeks to address the concerning rise in these cancers among young adults, facilitating essential prevention and control strategies. The Cancer Center Support Grants (CCSGs) aim to bolster NCI-Designated Cancer Centers by funding comprehensive, clinical, and basic cancer research. The Reeves Foundation supports research aimed at understanding and treating macular degeneration, a condition that has personally affected the founder's family. Established in 1997, the foundation allocates 50% of its grants to research and the other half to local charities in Columbus, Indiana. Nonprofit organizations exempt under IRS code 501(c)(3) are eligible to apply, but funds cannot be used for administrative costs. The foundation prioritizes equipment purchases and partnerships with other funding sources.

Kathy Mac Nurse Scholar Travel Funding Opportunity

The American College Health Foundation, through the Kathy Mac Scholar Fund, will offer funding to partially offset meeting registration, hotel and travel expenses for one nurse or nurse practitioner, who has never been to an ACHA meeting, to attend the ACHA Annual Meeting.

Applicants will be responsible for any remaining travel expenses not covered by the ACHF Kathy Mac Scholar Fund and will be required to submit proof of the availability of these funds.

Post-meeting requirements for award recipients will include the following:

• Make a brief presentation to the ACHF Board during their annual business meeting at the ACHA Annual Meeting.
• Provide a written evaluation of the Scholar’s annual meeting experience that could be published in Action, Impact, ACHF webpage, or in other publications.
• Become involved in a health center or campus project following the meeting.

Northern Piedmont Community Foundation

The Northern Piedmont Community Foundation (NPCF) began in December 2000 when nine concerned citizens from Virginia’s Piedmont region were searching for solutions to the charitable needs in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock counties. With modest beginnings, our funds have grown to over $39 million in support of local charities, scholarships and community need in our northern Piedmont region.

Northern Piedmont Community Foundation manages the scholarship application process for dozens of scholarships for students in Culpeper, Fauquier, Madison, and Rappahannock counties (as well as a handful serving students from surrounding counties too). 

Fauquier NAACP – Dr. Ellsworth Weaver Education Scholarship

The Dr. Ellsworth Weaver Education Scholarship celebrates the legacy of Dr. Ellsworth Weaver, a former president of the Fauquier County NAACP Branch 7059 and a dedicated advocate for education and equality. Each year, a $1,000 scholarship is awarded to one graduating senior from each of Fauquier County’s three public high schools. Eligible applicants must have a minimum 2.5 GPA and plan to attend an accredited trade, technical, or vocational school, community college, or four-year university. Selection is based on academic achievement, leadership, service, citizenship, and extracurricular involvement.

Minority students, those facing financial or personal hardships, and individuals committed to improving their communities are strongly encouraged to apply. As part of the required essay, applicants should describe a significant challenge or barrier they encountered during their educational journey and explain how they overcame that difficulty.

The American College Health Foundation, through the Murray DeArmond Student Activity Fund, will offer funding to partially offset hotel and travel expenses for one or more students to attend the ACHA Annual Meeting. Funding decisions will be made by the ACHF Board of Directors in conjunction with the ACHA Student/Consumers Section.

Funding will be open to student applicants from ACHA Member Institutions who have demonstrated a significant career interest in college health and who have made a positive difference on their campus by serving as a peer health educator or in a leadership position on a student health advisory board, or who have (or will have) a leadership role in the ACHA Student/Consumers Section. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate the highest level of commitment and benefit to the field and/or continuity in effective student consumer leadership. Applicants will be encouraged to apply for ACHF Student Scholarships to cover meeting registration costs. Applicants will also be responsible for any remaining travel expenses not covered by the ACHF funding opportunity and will be required to submit proof of the availability of these funds.

Post-meeting requirements for award recipients will include the following:

• Make a brief presentation to the ACHF Board during their annual business meeting at the ACHA Annual Meeting attended by the student winner.
• Provide a written evaluation of the winner’s annual meeting experience that could be published in Impact, on the ACHF webpage or in other publications.
• Become involved in a health center project on their campus following the meeting.

The EGUSD 50th Anniversary Scholarship, offered by the Elk Grove Regional Scholarship Foundation, provides $1,250 to eligible students from various high schools in the Elk Grove area. Applicants must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0 and participate in community activities, submitting an essay on their community service experiences. This scholarship aims to support students pursuing their post-secondary education at universities, community colleges, or vocational schools.

This scholarship prioritizes students entering Visual Arts or Construction fields, particularly those with ties to Lenkerville Elementary. The program recognizes academic excellence and career aspirations, supporting youth in the Building Industry as they prepare for future workforce opportunities.

This scholarship was established in memory of a local family practitioner, Dr. Eric J. Maybach. Dr. Maybach treated countless residents of Fauquier County, and in his honor, a scholarship was created. Qualifying applicants must be a resident of Fauquier County and pursuing a degree in medicine – medical school, nurse practitioner, physician’s assistant. Award amount varies.
