The Turnaround Leadership Development Program, initiated in 2014, aims to enhance leadership training for low-performing schools in Colorado. Modified in 2018, it became part of the School Transformation Grant program, which funds support for educational improvement. Monarch Mountain Impact Grant Program

The Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF) is proud to partner with Monarch Mountain for the new Impact Grant cycle. This funding supports projects that reflect Monarch Mountain's core values of environmental sustainability, recreation, humanitarian efforts and building a strong, supportive community.

Monarch Mountain Impact Grant process will award $15,000 to one or more applications for projects that align with Monarch Mountain’s core values of environmental sustainability, recreation, humanitarian, and fostering a supportive community across Chaffee County. Strong applications will clearly describe the needs being addressed, approach to addressing the needs, activities, outputs and outcomes of the project or program. Applicants can apply for an existing project or program, but should be able to clearly describe how the grant will increase the impact. Public/private partnerships are encouraged to apply, but the applicant must be a 501c3. 

• Applications that demonstrate the following factors will be most competitive: 
• Clearly defined activities that are meeting an identified community need
• Measurable outcomes, outputs, and impacts for proposed programs and projects
• Supporting data to help define the organization's impact and need
• Applications are encouraged to review the Application Questions and the Impact Grants Rubric prior to starting the application. 

The review committees will determine how many awards will be selected for each grant, but all applicants are eligible to request up to the maximum amount. 

The Community Investment Fund by Freeport-McMoRan aims to enhance community resilience and well-being in various regions, including Climax (CO), Globe-Miami (AZ), and Henderson (CO). Prioritizing education, economic opportunity, and leadership capacity, this fund supports projects over $10,000 that directly benefit local communities. Eligible organizations must have 501c-3 status or equivalent. The initiative fosters transformative change through collaborative partnerships and strategic investments, addressing essential community needs and promoting sustainability.

SteamPlant Fee Assistance Grant Program

Financial support for public performance-based arts events to reduce fees for use of the SteamPlant in Salida. 

The SteamPlant Fee Assistance Program was created to help ensure that local arts, culture, and community organizations can continue to access and utilize the SteamPlant Event Center for performances, exhibits, and public events. Through charitable contributions to the Salida Arts & Culture Fund, eligible organizations may receive grants that offset a portion of SteamPlant facility fees, making the venue more accessible and affordable.

The program is made possible through a partnership between the City of Salida and the Chaffee County Community Foundation (CCCF). The City has committed $5,000 in matching funds to match the first $5,000 donated by the community, helping build support for local arts and cultural programming.

While the Salida Arts & Culture Fund supports a variety of arts and culture initiatives, SteamPlant fee assistance is currently the fund's primary focus. Donations are tax-deductible and restricted to purposes approved by the Arts & Culture Advisory Committee (ACAC), which annually reviews community needs and available resources to guide funding priorities.

The Mini-Grants for Education program, funded by the Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation, aims to support K-12 educators in eligible communities. Grants ranging from $100 to $500 are available for diverse projects, including environmental initiatives and STEM education. Since its inception in 2006, the program has allocated over $700,000 to enhance classroom experiences. Teachers and school staff in specified areas can apply, ensuring that resources are directed where they are most needed.

The Women's Development Initiatives Grant Program, funded by Freeport-McMoRan Copper & Gold Foundation, focuses on enhancing education and economic opportunities for women in various communities. This initiative aims to empower women through skills training, small business development, and leadership programs, ultimately fostering their participation in economic growth. Eligible organizations must directly serve women and girls in specified locations, demonstrating measurable impacts and sustainability beyond funding.

Spectrum Digital Education Grants support nonprofit organizations in educating communities about broadband benefits and usage. These grants aim to bridge the digital divide, particularly for seniors and those with disabilities or ethnically diverse backgrounds. Applicants must demonstrate community partnership, address specific needs, and provide measurable impact metrics. With a focus on financial feasibility and meaningful outcomes, this initiative ensures that underrepresented urban and rural communities gain access to essential digital resources, fostering long-term improvement in their lives.

The SCCF: Community Fund Grant supports organizations in southeastern Colorado, enhancing leadership and promoting philanthropy. It prioritizes requests that foster community leadership, focusing on counties like Pueblo, Alamosa, and Huerfano. The Southern Colorado Community Foundation aims to improve the quality of life across diverse landscapes, from mountains to plains. Organizations must operate within the designated counties to be eligible, ensuring that funds are allocated effectively to local initiatives.

The FHL Foundation Giving program focuses on Animal & Human Welfare in its Winter 2026 Grant Cycle, from December 7, 2025, to January 7, 2026. Interested organizations should email to discuss potential trackable projects. Grants are awarded to 501(c)(3) organizations in Northern New Mexico and Southern Colorado, with clear objectives that can be measured. The foundation meets quarterly to review proposals across various focus areas, ensuring accountability in grant spending.

CDBGPF Construction Grant

The CDBGPF Construction Grant program offers financial assistance for eligible applicants to complete their public facilities and infrastructure projects. Eligible activities include acquisition, construction, reconstruction, rehabilitation or installation of public improvements or public facilities. The maximum grant award for the CDBGPF Construction program is $600,000.

All CDBGPF Construction grant applicants must submit a CDBGPF Design and Engineering Progress Report and a CDBGPF Environmental Progress Report to the CDBGPF Program Manager, James Spiers (james.spiers@state.co.us). Once the reports are submitted to the CDBGPF Program Manager, a certification will be issued to the applicant that they will upload in their application. 

The Arkansas River Valley LGBTQ+ Fund aims to foster equity and a sense of belonging for the LGBTQ+ community in Chaffee County. By providing financial resources, the fund supports projects that create affirming spaces and inclusive services for LGBTQ+ individuals. With an anticipated $10,000 in funding, the initiative prioritizes projects that promote supportive environments and remove barriers to access. Awardees will also benefit from capacity-building resources to enhance project outcomes.

The Women and Girls of Color Fund: Rural Cycle aims to empower women and girls of color in Colorado by addressing systemic disparities they face in health, wealth, and access to resources. By focusing on organizations led by women of color, the fund prioritizes initiatives that build economic power and promote community organizing. This fund not only seeks to increase financial support but also strives to dismantle oppressive structures, ensuring that marginalized communities receive the necessary resources to thrive.

The CCCF: Fall Community Grants support local organizations in Chaffee, Custer, Fremont, and Lake Counties, offering two funding options totaling $50,800. Eligible applicants include 501c3, 501c4, or 501c6 organizations, focusing on health, human services, and community development. The average grant awarded in 2023 was $1,600, aimed at fostering community vitality and resilience through diverse initiatives.

The Myron Stratton Home Grant aims to honor Winfield Scott Stratton's legacy by supporting organizations that assist underserved populations, including the elderly, children, and those unable to work due to illness. The grant prioritizes innovative projects that enhance existing services or create new programs to meet community needs in El Paso and Teller counties. Collaborative efforts that prevent service duplication are especially encouraged, ensuring that resources effectively reach those in need.
