2) In-Kind Support for Sustainability Consultations and Capacity Building

Participants in this program will receive 1:1 consulting services tailored to an organization’s identified needs. Interact for Health will work with local consultants and community partners based on needs shared by grantee organizations.

Examples of needs include the following:

• Scenario planning  
• Legal support 
• Sustainability and development planning and implementation
• Diversified funding strategies and implementation
• Exploring collaboration, partnerships/alliances, shared services, and/or mergers
• Strategic planning and revisions 

Sustainability Consultations will include up to 30 hours of 1:1 support and will begin in late 2026.

Responsive Fund

Grant Funding for Critical Services – Sustaining Civic Infrastructure: Total investment up to $1.5 million  

This funding supports the continuity of critical community infrastructure and services by addressing the time-sensitive operational and programmatic needs. Proposals for funding should focus on critical gaps or unmet needs with deep ties to community relationships. Organizations should demonstrate readiness to deploy resources quickly if funding is provided. This RFP will prioritize funding organizations essential to advancing health justice and youth well-being among our priority populations. Grants are available at three levels: $50,000, $75,000, or $100,000 for general operating or programmatic support.

The Enbridge Safe Community First Responder Program is designed to support emergency response organizations across Canada and the U.S. by providing grants for safety equipment, training, and educational programs. Launched in 2002, it has invested over $22 million in enhancing community safety. Eligible organizations include fire departments and medical services located near Enbridge operations. Grants typically range from $1,000 to $10,000, helping improve the capabilities of first responders in rural and underserved areas.

Clinton County, Ohio 501(c)(3) nonprofits running community programs can seek US $50,000 - US $100,000 Power Grants to launch or expand innovative projects. Focused on basic needs, education and employment readiness, health and human services, the arts, and urgent housing needs, AES Ohio Foundation backs initiatives that advance diversity, equity, and inclusion in its 24-county service area.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations serving Greater Cincinnati residents in health, education, or arts can apply for Millstone Fund grants of US $10,000 - US $50,000 for capacity building, capital, general operating, projects, or innovation seed funding. With a mission to build a more equitable, vibrant community, Millstone Fund provides Clinton County, Ohio nonprofits with flexible support to expand or improve impactful services.

Nonprofit and charity organizations in Clinton County, Ohio can seek funding to support education, community services, and environmental initiatives. Grants from Makulinski Family Foundation help local and international charities grow long-lasting community investments, with the foundation considering all proposals and offering matching support based on beneficiary needs, including projects connected with Rotary.

The Rural Changemaker RFP by Interact for Health aims to enhance health and well-being in rural areas across Ohio, Indiana, and Kentucky. What Do We Fund?

HealthFirst funds projects that serve or benefit Clinton County. Projects and program proposals should address one or more of the following areas:

Education: improving individual and community wellness and health awareness through direct outreach and creative communication about nutrition, emergent health issues, disease prevention or management, and similar topics.

Innovation in Community Health: improving care delivery methods and services, including novel outreach methods for at-risk communities.

Promotion of Community Health: improving the good health of community members, including medication assistance, health and wellness screenings, and wellness initiatives (including exercise and vaccination initiatives).

What Do We Look for in a Grant Application?

High Priority Projects

• Proposals that are new, unique, pilot, or address unmet needs in Clinton County
• Projects designed to improve equity with a focus on supporting underserved communities
• Projects designed to take a systemic approach to improving outcomes for underserved communities
• Projects that include alliances, partnerships, and collaboration between providers and organizations that broaden, deepen, and diversify participation in the provision of services

• Projects for remodeling, renovation, maintenance, repairs, and site improvement for existing facilities
• Projects that support or meet the basic educational, health, and safety functions of government agencies and/or schools

Nonprofit, neighborhood-based organizations in Clinton County, Ohio can seek capital funding to create or rehabilitate community football fields, improving safety and access to play spaces. The English Learning Foundation, Inc. is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization incorporated in 2006 to assist English language learners. The mission of the ELL Foundation is to help English learners to become successful in their academic lives while honoring their cultural identities.

Our vision is to assist English learners in the Greater Cincinnati area so that students:

• Appreciate and are proud of their cultural identities;
• Receive the needed support service for their education;
• Graduate from high school and succeed in college;
• And serve their communities as role models.

ELL Foundation’s College Emergency Grant

The College Emergency Grant Program provides emergency assistance of up to $500 for Greater Cincinnati college/ university EL students who are experiencing temporary financial emergencies. The focus areas for the grants include: 

• Student food insecurity (meal plans are eligible)
• Student housing insecurity (student housing is eligible)
• Student transportation barriers (bus passes are eligible)
  • Note that all assistance will be disbursed to the University, and not the student.

Due to funding availability, grantees can only receive one emergency grant per academic year. The ELL Foundation will accept emergency grant applications at any time, but applications will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.

The ELL Foundation’s Educational Event Grant Program is intended to financially support co-curricular and curricular educational events for K-12 English learners in Greater Cincinnati. Community partners can request up to $2000 for an educational event. Due to funding availability, grantees can only receive one Educational Event Grant per calendar year. The ELL Foundation will accept Educational Event Grant applications at any time, but they will be reviewed on a quarterly basis.

Interact For Health: Event Sponsorship

Interact for Health provides sponsorships as a way to support organizations within Greater Cincinnati with funding beyond our grantmaking work. Sponsorships are a competitive process, and funding is limited. We prioritize sponsoring events that serve our priority populations, align with our strategic plan, and benefit (and are located in) our 20-county service area.

In general, sponsorship opportunities are meant to benefit organizations that are not current grantees of Interact for Health. 

Focused on rural chronic disease prevention and care, this program invites hospitals, health centers, clinics, and health systems in Clinton County, Ohio and other non-urban counties to strengthen blood glucose and hypertension management. Grants from Ohio Department of Health and Human Services offer up to US $200,000 for innovative, preventive, and clinical rural health initiatives.

Nonprofit 501(c)(3) organizations, public schools, and qualified local government entities in Clinton County, Ohio can seek funding to support education, entrepreneurship, community enrichment, and environmental programs. Georgia-Pacific Foundation prioritizes projects near its manufacturing communities that enhance long-term well-being and sustainability for local residents.

The CenterPoint Energy Foundation aims to enhance community vitality through grants supporting affordable housing, environmental education, and workforce development. Focusing on low- to moderate-income populations, the Foundation prioritizes innovative programs that foster community connections and educational opportunities. By investing in both community vitality and education, they strive to create vibrant neighborhoods and empower individuals with the skills needed for success in today's workforce. Their commitment extends across Indiana, Minnesota, Ohio, and Texas.

Under-represented individual artists creating work about Black and Brown experiences in Clinton County, Ohio can apply for Inspire Artist Grants supporting new artwork and career development. Focused on artist training, cultural heritage, and arts participation, ArtsWave offers up to US $10,000 for projects showcased in July 2026 within a regional artist cohort.

With a mission to strengthen communities, Duke Energy Foundation provides Clinton County, Ohio nonprofits, 501(c)(3) public charities, and government entities with up to US $20,000 for projects in vibrant economies, climate resiliency, and justice, equity and inclusion. Eligible applicants must serve Duke Energy communities in specified Ohio counties and demonstrate measurable community impact.

Public and charter schools in Clinton County, Ohio serving at least 40% free and reduced-price lunch students can use these grants to expand PLTW Launch STEM programs, equipment, and teacher training. Project Lead The Way provides US $5,000 per school for participation fees, required technology, supplies, and PLTW Core Training costs for the 2027–2028 academic year.

The PNC Foundation aims to enhance the lives of individuals in local communities through partnerships with nonprofit organizations. Their focus includes promoting educational opportunities, particularly for early childhood education, and supporting economic development initiatives. Grants are available for organizations that benefit low- to moderate-income families and enhance community growth. Nellie Leaman Taft Foundation Grant

The Nellie Leaman Taft Foundation was created in 1997 by Cincinnati native and Boston resident, Nellie Leaman Taft, who died on December 17, 2012. Ms. Taft was an accomplished artist and committed patron of fine arts who is remembered as an independent, progressive-minded woman of great spirit and mirth, an avid gardener, and a worldwide traveler. Project Lead The Way supports STEM / STEAM education; eligible schools must be in approved areas and serve at least 40% free/reduced-price lunch students.

Nonprofit and community organizations in Clinton County, Ohio can seek support for programs in economic mobility, social mobility, technology, and well-being. Grants from altafiber help Clinton County, Ohio groups advance community development, wellness, digital literacy, and social-emotional learning through sponsorships and donations that reflect the company’s local “give where you live” commitment.

PLTW Computer Science - Program Expansion In Partnership With Lam Research

The Lam Foundation supports schools implementing or expanding a PLTW program in or near several of their U.S. communities. Schools seeking support for PLTW Gateway or PLTW Engineering will receive priority. The Lam Foundation is the philanthropic arm of Lam Research, a leading provider of equipment and services to the semiconductor industry.

Program Requirements

The purpose of this grant is to assist the grantee's expansion of student access to the PLTW Computer Science program. Grantee must use their grant funds to expand their existing PLTW Computer Science program. Example expansion activities include but are not limited to adding an additional PLTW Computer Science course not previously offered, and/or adding additional class periods of an existing PLTW Computer Science courses previously offered, and/or training additional teachers in PLTW Computer Science courses for the 2027-2028 academic year. Grantee must complete one year of grant reporting.
