Allegan County Community Foundation: Food Grant

All food-related requests, product and distribution, should be addressed through this Food Security Grant application. Organizations serving residents of Allegan County may apply. Any recipients of this grant will only receive funding once during a rolling 12-month period. The ACCF Food Grant Cycle supports organizations addressing food insecurity in Allegan County through food-related programs, including product and distribution efforts.

We strive to increase availability of healthy food options for residents, while also expanding supplemental food resources in Allegan County. It is unlikely that this grant will fund food purchases. Priority is given to programs that: 

• are part of the Allegan County Food Pantry Collaborative or the MACC Food Security Workgroup, 
• increase food redistribution options and access, 
• expand or improve current resources, and 
• increase collaboration to provide more community availability in sections of Allegan County that are lacking. 

The Mary Thompson Foundation, established in 1979, provides essential funding and support to nonprofit organizations that aid the elderly, particularly in Michigan. Originating from the historic Mary Thompson Home for Old Ladies, the foundation continues its legacy by granting resources for medical care, entertainment, and companionship for seniors. Their mission emphasizes creating a nurturing environment that fosters dignity and comfort for older adults, reflecting a commitment to enhancing the quality of life for those in need.

The Glacier Hills Legacy Fund Golden Opportunities grant program, managed by the Ann Arbor Area Community Foundation, aims to enhance the well-being of vulnerable older adults in Washtenaw County. By addressing pressing issues such as housing stability, food security, healthcare access, and transportation, the program seeks to reduce inequities faced by this demographic. Funding will support innovative solutions and partnerships to ensure older adults can thrive in their communities.

Amway Impact Grants support non-profit organizations in Kent County, Michigan, focusing on Health + Wellbeing and Empowerment. Grants are awarded to projects that improve access to healthy foods, provide nutritional resources, and foster mental wellbeing. The foundation supports unrestricted grants for various projects, including disaster relief and environmental programs, but does not fund individuals or for-profit entities. Applications are evaluated based on alignment with the foundation's priorities.

The Environment Pillar Award by Honda supports nonprofit organizations and schools in the U.S. focused on sustainability. Grants aim to reduce environmental impact through programs in decarbonization, clean energy, and efficient resource use. Eligible projects must align with Honda's mission and primarily benefit communities where Honda associates live and work. Organizations can apply for up to two grants, provided they meet specific eligibility criteria, including tax-exempt status under the IRS.

Organizations providing programs and services that serve the LGBTQIA+ community in Allegan County that meet these criteria are welcome to apply.

The Pride Fund promotes safe, healthy, affirming environments for LGBTQIA+ communities within Allegan County. Priority is given to programs that: 

• Increase visibility, 
• increase allyship,  
• increase multigenerational support,  
• increase access to resources, and  
• promotes physical and mental health.
